Things In The Middle East Are About To Get Much Worse
There are major clashes occurring currently in The West Bank tonight as claims of 10s of thousands and Palestinians clash with Israeli soldiers. Sadly, as the photos below reveal taken moments ago show, things appear set to get very much worse.
Israeli security forces have shot dead three Palestinians during a massive protest in the West Bank, according to medical officials.
The three people were among an estimated 10,000 people who are clashing with soldiers and border police at a checkpoint in Qalandiya, between Jerusalem and Ramallah.
The protest came hours after 15 people were killed and more than 200 injured when a UN school in the city of Beit Hanoun was hit by an artillery shell.
At least 90 people were injured in the checkpoint clashes, with some reports that live fire was being used.
An Israeli army spokeswoman told the AFP news agency soldiers were using "riot disposal means" to control the protest.
She said: "There are thousands of rioters there. They are rolling burning tyres and throwing Molotov cocktails and fireworks at soldiers and border police.
"The soldiers are responding with riot disposal means."

Israel has already announced their intentions to keep the West Bank and offload Gaza to anyone who will take it. So if the West Bank Palestinians start to riot, they just may be shipped to Gaza - assuming Jordan still doesn't want them.

Isn't the West Bank and Golan Heights where the fresh water comes from? And if Gaza is bulldozed into the sea, who gets the mineral rights to all that offshore gas?
The Golan Heights is where Syria kept heavy artillery that was used to randomly shoot at about 100 square miles of Israel from 1948 through 1967, and that would provide a protected invasion route for Syria into Israel as long as it was there. Israel took the heights to eliminate the artillery.
There is little fresh water anywhere in the area, and I believe it's all subscribed to no matter who controls the mountains it falls on. Looking at the map, the Mt Hermon area is small, about like the Lake Arrowhead/Big Bear area above Los Angeles.
Israel already has all the offshore gas they can handle off the northern part of the country, I haven't heard that any has yet been discovered in the south, and if it existed I don't know that Israel would be standing in the way of its development directly for the Gazans. If it existed, Egypt might put in a token bid to take Gaza back. Remember Israel held Gaza and gave it up, and I don't think they want it back and not even for a lot of oil. And finally, if that gas existed, why don't the idiot Palestinians just stop shelling Israel, negotiate a settlement, open the borders and take it all in?

The IDF better get a lot more careful or they will lose this battle despite all the advantages they have. Worse is that this type of thing brings out West Bank and other protests - and - it rallies more fighters (and money) to Hamas.
