Pentagon Says Russia Preparing To Transfer "Powerful Weapons" To Ukraine
No red lines, no YouTube clips, no "satellite images" of WMD this time: just more "straight to propaganda" speculation by the Pentagon. From Reuters:
The Pentagon said on Friday the transfer of heavy-caliber multiple-launch rocket systems from Russia to Ukrainian separatists appeared to be imminent with the arms close enough to the border they could be handed over "potentially today."
"We have indications that the Russians intend to supply heavier and more sophisticated multiple-launch rocket systems in the very near future," said Army Colonel Steve Warren, a Pentagon spokesman, adding that the weapons were in the over-200mm range.
Warren indicated the weapons had been seen getting closer to the border and the Pentagon believed a transfer was imminent and could happen "potentially today."
"We believe that they are able to transfer this equipment at any time, at any moment," he said.
So Russia "could", "potentially today" transfer rocket launchers to Ukraine. But wait, wasn't the same Pentagon reporting hours ago that Russia is now, with the entire world clearly watching, no longer even pretending to be not engaged and is firing at Ukraine forces directly from its own territory? Why would they stop now? And surely with every US spy satellite trained at east Ukraine, the moment this happens it will be blasted to every media outlet. Right?

A multiple-launch rocket system is a wheeled or tracked vehicle mounted with multiple tubes capable of firing a half dozen or more guided or unguided rockets in quick succession at targets scores of miles (km) away. The rockets are generally 100mm to 300mm, with those over 200mm in the heavier-caliber category.
"We're very concerned with the quantity and the capability of weapons flowing from Russia into the Ukrainian separatists' hands," Warren said.
"There has been a continuous flow over the last several weeks of weapons and equipment from Russia to Ukraine," he said, noting that the "most egregious example" was a column of more than 100 vehicles crossing the border.
The Pentagon's assessment that a transfer of heavy weaponry was imminent came as Russian authorities accused Ukraine of firing a volley of mortar rounds across the frontier into Russia on Friday while a group of investigators was in the area assessing reports of cross-border shooting.
A Russian security official said up to 40 mortar bombs fired by Ukrainian forces fell in the Russian province of Rostov near the border where Ukrainian government forces are fighting pro-Russian separatists. There were no reports of injuries.

I don't particularly like Mr. Putin but don't fuck with a bear in his own backyard. Anyway, a few weeks ago someone here said that America would not hesitate to turn Europe is a smoldering heap of rubble to protect the dollar and the American empire. I suspect that the Ukraine military downed the plane. Hopefully, by accident. But even if it was intentional. Why bother with details about passports etc, etc....
You shoot down a real flight with real live people. Because you believe you are right and can do it.
Why fuck around with details? Up to millions of people are murdered for the cause now and then.
If it was planned. A couple hundred lives is small collateral damage in the estimation of the type of people who do such things.
Spread as much chaos as possible, before the chaos busts loose at home. Mideast well seeded with more well supplied nut bars ( assets ). Terrorist threat guaranteed for as long as required. Disruption of energy to EU. They even have improved corporate and social media smarts. Cool evil ISIS initials.
But EU and Russia present a terrible example of cooperation, that continues to grow as an economic threat to the buy now, pay and pay and payyyyyyyy later US imaginary economy. The nerve of Germany to keep and value, a manufacturing base. Russia having an ever lower debt and progressing. Time to get them into a chaotic self defeating standoff.
The US is teetering on the edge of collapse in several ways. It can move back from that edge in several ways. But chooses to sow chaos ampngst others. Hoping things elsewhere will look terrible by comparison, when it falls apart. Keeping it's citizens/sheep frightened that the terrible world might cross it's borders in any way. No other countries can be allowed to display a better way. None can be allowed to continue being at peace and providing and caring for their people. They must all be in chaos as well. In fear. In collapse. At war with everything.
That will justify the feudal system that is fast approaching the US. No surprise, the plans to divide California into fiefdoms. It is the future of the US. Little corrupt banana republics.
I still hold hope that there are a few grown ups with morals, intelligence, humanity, in positions of power in other countries. I imagine them being stressed. Holding on till the US collapses internally, while they still can carry on as rational societies and economies.
I can think of a few. I hope they can make it.
Almost forgot. Bulgaria government unstable. What a coincidence. Russian South Stream natural gas line goes through there.
Hey EU!. US does NOT have the ability to heat your homes or power your industry. Fracked energy is bottom of the barrel.

It's interesting that all these politicians think they, in their bunkers, will survive WWIII and they must think Russia and China don't know where their Iron Mountain bunker is.
