No, its the right question for the situation. You have two information sources, HAMAS and IDF. Questioning one, leads to the other then being credible. The question can be reworded as "Is HAMAS credible" ? And the answer is no, therefore the IDF cannot be worse and is probably better. In real life, they are, much better.
