Nigeria Declares State Of Emergency: "Everyone In The World Is At Risk" From Ebola, CDC Issues Level 1 "All-Hands Call"
With over 932 dead, the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has issued its highest level alert for an all-hands on deck response to the crisis in West Africa (that is spreading across the world). While President Obama proclaimed we are prepared and itis "not easily transmitted," it appears that is not entirely true. Meanwhile, CDC Director Frieden's "deep concerns" have been confirmed as Nigeria’s health minister has declared a health emergency as the deadly Ebola virus gained a foothold in Africa’s most populous nation, according to news reports. Nigerian authorities moved quickly late Wednesday, gathering isolation tents as five more cases of the Ebola Virus were confirmed in Lagos (the world's 4th most populous city with 21 million people). Most international flights from West Africa are also now screening passengers.
The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on Wednesday issued its highest alert for an all-hands on deck response to the Ebola crisis in West Africa.
"Ops Center moved to Level 1 response to given the extension to Nigeria & potential to affect many lives," CDC chief Tom Frieden said on Twitter.
Level 1 is the highest on a 1-6 scale and signals that increased staff and resources will be devoted to the outbreak.
"Basically this activation allows us to pull resources from throughout the agency to respond to this," said CDC spokesman Tom Skinner.
He said it was the first time since 2009 that the Level 1 alert had been issued. Back then it was in response to the outbreak of H1N1 flu.
As The Washington Post reports,
Nigeria’s health minister has declared a health emergency as the deadly Ebola virus gained a foothold in Africa’s most populous nation, according to news reports.
“This is a national emergency. Everyone in the world today is at risk. The experience of Nigeria opens the eyes of the world,” Minister of Health Onyebuchi Chukwu told the country’s House of Representatives. Nigerian authorities moved quickly late Wednesday, gathering isolation tents as five more cases of the Ebola Virus were confirmed in Lagos, a city bursting with 21 million people.
All five people are believed to be health workers who had direct contact with one man traveling from Ebola-ridden Liberia to Nigeria — making this country the fourth now infiltrated by the deadly disease.
...
“Yesterday the first known Nigerian to die of Ebola was recorded,” Chukwu told reporters in Abuja on Wednesday. “This was one of the nurses that attended to the Liberian. The other five [newly confirmed] cases are being treated at an isolation ward.”
Idris said this is the time “for everyone to be vigilant, especially with regard to relating to people who are ill.”
Most international airlines flying to West Africa in the grip of the deadly Ebola outbreak are counting on stepped-up passenger screening as they continue serving the region.
Air France fliers in some cities must complete health questionnaires and be checked for symptoms, including an elevated temperature, before boarding cards are issued. Delta Air Lines Inc. said travelers are being checked at the airport in Monrovia, Liberia, one of the countries hit by Ebola.
Only two airlines have suspended flights to West Africa so far, with British Airways opting yesterday to join Gulf carrier Emirates in pulling back.
U.S. carriers “that fly to the affected countries remain in steady contact with government agencies and health officials, and have procedures in place to monitor and quickly respond to potential health concerns,” said Victoria Day, a spokeswoman for the Washington-based Airlines for America trade group.

Barack Obama says that Ebola is "not something that is easily transmitted" and that everything is under control...
According to this comment - supposedly written by someone who works in a hospital laboratory. Michael Snyder shares three quotes that we found particularly sobering...
#1 "Even in the United States, out of all the various hospitals I have worked at, there is no hope of containing anything like this. One of the largest hospitals I worked at only had two reverse flow isolation rooms. TWO, let that sink in for a minute."
#2 "Patients only show up to the hospital when they go symptomatic. So by the time they get there, they've already infected their entire family, their work group, and anyone they got within a few feet of on the way to the hospital. When they get there the ER nurses would treat it either like Flu, or Sepsis. But the whole time the patient is infecting all of them. And all of them, in turn, begin to infect everyone else in the exact same way. If this is as virulent as the WHO thinks it might be, by the time people realize what is going on, there will be more sick people than there would be beds available at every hospital in the US combined."
#3 "So don't expect miracles from front line hospital staff, we don't have the tools, and we certainly do not have the manpower. Ask anyone in the medical field how much overtime they could work if they felt like it, don't even get me started on how thinly stretched people in the industry are. Though I suppose if this does turn into something, that will become apparent very, very fast."
There is no way in the world that our medical professionals are going to be able to handle a full-blown Ebola pandemic.

I have to admit I didn't expect a silver pump like that one.
Man you scum are creative.
lemme guess
this will deplete the world's silver to zero in 71 hours - buy now
Agreed. Egregious.
They keep attacking her website - keep trying!
Animal studies have shown that silver builds up in the tissues of the body. In humans, buildup of silver from colloidal silver can lead to a side effect called argyria, which causes a bluish-gray discoloration of the skin, other organs, deep tissues, nails, and gums. Argyria is permanent and cannot be treated or reversed. Other side effects from using colloidal silver products may include neurologic problems (such as seizures), kidney damage, stomach distress, headaches, fatigue, and skin irritation. Colloidal silver may interfere with the body's absorption of some drugs, such as penacillamine, quinolones, tetracyclines, and thyroxine.

Reminds me of syphilis being treated with Mercury back in the day (1700's?).
You're pretty old to remember that...

I'm not sure which is worse, silver spammers or people using the mouthpiece of the pharma industry. The effects of any chemical can be hazardous in the incorrect quanitiy. Silver does have anti-microbial and anti bacerial properties. There is a reason people used silver plated silverware.
Perhaps post the science and let people decide.
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/3089906 This is one study concerning silver nitrate and gonnarhea. There are others. I would keep an open mind here.

Update From Invive Silver: (Comment: I recommend you print this whole section below)
The 10,000 PPM is MANDATORY, meaning the correct protocol in a life and death situation where death is “IMMINENT” within 72 hours. If you do not think you will die in 72 hours, then take the 5,000 PPM. Some Ebola patients die in 48 hours and some die in 21 days. If you are already bleeding from orifice, then the Ebola has advanced and you MUST use the 10,000 PPM.
To clarify again: 5000ppm vs 10000ppm and 2 TBL vs 3 TBL every 4 hours, depends on the Presentation (Meaning the severity of a given Ebola infection). Needless to say most people in the USA are already in an unhealthy obese (1 in 3) and others are “already” in an unhealthy condition from Aspartame, GMOs, pesticides, Barium and Aluminum etc. in the Chemical Trails!
Tell your people: Ebola Can kill within 48 hours to 21 days,
It takes a minimum of 3 days to ship the Invive from our factory because our Manufacturing is in a small town where it is delayed by USPS for 1 day; for the Silver to travel to the Airport in the next larger City. That is why we ship Priority, because if we shipped Express overnight it would “still” take 2-3 days to arrive. In the case of a worst case Ebola infection by the time the Silver is delivered to them in 3 days, they could be dead.
So they must purchase in advance and have the silver on hand to be safe. That is just a plain actual fact.
I myself have 3 bottles of 10,000 PPM with me wherever I am/travel.
That is barely enough meaning the minimum to attack the Ebola, while waiting for more silver to arrive.
So they should have at least 3 bottles of 10,000 stockpiled in advance. (Assuming the USPS trucks are still running during an Ebola outbreak and that the Cities are not locked down with no one allowed to enter or leave, including the Courier Trucks.
EBOLA
(Note 5000ppm is mentioned here but in an advanced case 10,000ppm should be used-see above for more clarification)
Invive 5000ppm Mild Silver Protein ++ When combating an advancing presentation of Ebola within the subject individual, it is “MANDATORY” to maintain a “STEADY STATE” of Silver in your bloodstream via 15 cc (or 3 tsp.) of 5,000 every 4 hours = 6 times per day for adults of 120 lbs and up, (but reduced for children via percentage of their bodyweight in relation to 120 lbs.). Go to: http://www.dr-johnson.com/
Note: Selenium has been found to be almost totally depleted from the soils where Ebola is prevalent in Africa and has been found to be very helpful in the prevention of Ebola. I recommend: Selenium - 90 tablets

The March 1978 issue of Science Digest, in an article, 'Our Mightiest Germ Fighter,' reported: . . . "An antibiotic kills perhaps a half-dozen different disease organisms, but silver kills some 650. Resistant strains fail to develop."
"Colloidal Silver . . . killed every virus that was tested in the lab," UCLA Medical Center.
You do realize that it is illegal to promote colloidal silver as a cure for *anything* in the US.
Its not colloidal.
Take a look at the skin color of the MassDecep- THAT part of the pitch is TRUTH in advertising! The rest, not so much.
This is not colloidal silver.
read about it , or die....
So I'll die if I don't read about it? Wow, guess I better read it- so I don't DIE!
Rofl.
PS- news flash: we're all gonna die, buddy, on a long enough timeline...
Hey Seek Truth
Calm down. I am making absolutely nothing from my un shameless plug. I just know what it did for my Father in laws MRSA infection when the doctors have given up after a year of antibiotics. And it healed two nickel size holes in his right elbow in three months. That is a fact.
I know this stuff works. I am not attacking you, but I also know that 10 PPM will not cure Ebola.
Well I'm happy for your FIL. If I had to turn blue to beat MRSA I'd do it in a heartbeat!
Best way to avoid MRSA- stay away from hospitals.
The #1 cause of death in the USA: doctors.
Answer a fool according to his folly, lest he be wise in his own conceit.
Indeed, bro.
Keep the faith!
PS- A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger- Proverbs 15:1,2
MRSA is Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus. It's a bacteria. The Eboler is a virus. You sayin that whatever-you-say PPM will heal both? Well, by golly will it heal the cancer too? Help me connect the dots, please. I'm finding it difficult to follow your logic.
BTW about a year back I got the MRSA from the Brazilian jiu-jitsu training mats. Put a quater-size hole in my thigh. Dang ugly crater scar. Doc wanted to give me some funnny white pills and I said nope. Instead we treated it with some garlic I grows out back and coconut oil and eventually popped it like a zit twice a day until it healed up.
This is starting to get a little bit scary. I'm not religious, but I'll pray just in case.
gold and silver pumpers should be firing up their spam magic any moment now
Deflation, it's what's for breakfast. Still better than a Russian sausage.
It's a good thing the financial system is so robust, or something like this could cause problems.
If it spread exponentially like the fearmongering author says it does it would have killed everyone in Nigeria by now. I am alarmed, but ground the discussion in reality. Otherwise, I'm going to ignore chicken little shit.
Wow Really? The first death only came a few days ago in Nigeria. Close contacts probably caught it a week ago. Give it a few weeks. Let me guess - a govt official? LOL.
stateside
I'm recommending living in reality. The outbreak has been going on since February. Maybe it will eventually kill us all, but I can clearly observe the spread is not exponential.
Anything which grows at a constant percentage grows exponetially; if the percent growth is low then the doubling time will be long but it will still be exponitial. The graphs shown are from crappy data, but eyeballing it, it looks to be approx 3% a day or a doubling every 20 days which is scary shit. It doesn't seem like much, but if it goes unchecked it would infect everyone in a year or two.
Hmmm - there's something about the shape of these curves that remind me of something. . .
https://sixdegreesnorthdotme.files.wordpress.com/2014/08/ebola_graph.png
one of the problems is with the "official" numbers which probably are downplayed. im sure there are quite a lot more dead/dying outside of where the official stats are made up (conjured, BLS'd, etc)
Meanwhile our fearless and noble leader invites a bunch of Africans over for dinner. Hope everybody at the White House has lots of accumulated sick leave.
what's really sad about this clusterfuck is that it didn't have to happen and they (whoever they are) are making it happen in the USA
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5BxUHe8v4Pw
The horses are out. Shut the barn door? Naw, let them fly wherever!
I see shelter in place and martial law in a month. No, that would stop commerce so just be extra careful when getting blow jobs by Banksters.
Banksters don't give blow jobs. Their speciality is giving a good a$$ phuking.
If the level of screening at airports for arriving passengers does not at least match that of TSA Security TheatreTM, then they can go fuck themselves.
Ebola - a new way to prevent cavity searches by TSA staff!
Au contraire, it's "I think you missed somethin'. Better look waaaay up there on that one."
http://crazyhyena.com/fart-loading-fat-woman-crazy
add to this the dengue fever that will spread from the Chinese built Nicaraguan Canal mosquito pigfest and we have an event to talk about. Until the false flag is outed for what it is, we must read crap like this.
It is truly amazing how fear is built and spread.
If you ain't scared of infected people flying in and out of international airports then you are truly stupid.
Sometimes shit just happens without your boogeyman making it happen.
false flags have the potential to kill you dead.
Maine and East Coast Exposed to Ebola Plane Risks Twice - Aug 2 and 5
Aug 2 - Plane carrying American infected with Ebola stops in Bangor Maine
"...the Phoenix Air Gulfstream 3 landed at BIA just after 7:30 a.m. Saturday. It was the plane's first stop in the US on its journey to Dobbins Air Force Base in Marietta, GA from Liberia, Africa, where two American aid workers were infected with the deadly disease.
"The crew stepped off the aircraft to stretch their legs and receive what appeared to be medical supplies. The American on board, Dr. Kent Brantly, worked in a Liberian hospital that treated Ebola patients."
http://www.wmtw.com/news/plane-carrying-american-infected-with-ebola-stops-in-bangor/27278498#ixzz39ZrmkDeq
Aug 5 - Plane Carrying 2nd Ebola Patient Landing in Bangor Maine
"Bangor's airport administration was originally alerted Friday afternoon that the plane would be stopping in Bangor Saturday morning to refuel and for a federal inspection. Maine is the closest state to Africa and is often a stopping point for international flights. For safety reasons, Bangor International employees did not get on the plane.
"After getting word, the airport director alerted Bangor city officials, like the city manager and city council. The Bangor airport director didn't alert the public or Bangor Public Health Director Patty Hamilton. Hamilton said it's not a public health concern in Bangor.
http://www.necn.com/news/new-england/Plane-Carrying-2nd-Ebola-Patient-La...
Outbound the flight from Georgia to Liberia with a refueling stop in the Azores was a direct route. But inbound from Liberia to Georgia the plane traveled to and landed in Bangor Maine, and then flew 1,300 miles along the East Coast from Maine to Georgia. Why was the return flight diverted hundreds (and possibly thousands)of miles to Maine rather than a direct route from Liberia to Georgia?
http://foxtrotalpha.jalopnik.com/this-amazing-jet-will-transport-ebola-v...
http://wabi.tv/2014/08/02/jet-transporting-ebola-patient-stops-bangor/
Did Customs officials and others board the plane in Bangor, and if so was their Personnel Protective Equipment (PPE) adequate for potential exposure to ebola. How was the PPE disposed of?
On the flight from Maine to Georgia, the plane might have had malfunction that required an emergency landing that might have damaged the plane and injured the crew and passengers. The emergency landing could have been in Boston, New York, Newark, Philadelphia, Baltimore or Washington, D.C., or any of the smaller airports along the East Coast.
Was the diversion to Bangor necessary? Was the diversion warranted or justified in light of the increased public exposure to risk along the East Coast from Maine to Georgia?
Meanwhile, ISIS taking over the Middle East- just sayin.
On Tuesday, the CDC had a conference between 2-3pm. Docs were given a number and a pass code to call in and listen live. I called five times between 2:10-2:20 and kept getting busy signals. When I finally got thru it was a recording saying that call capacity had been reached. Of course, I don't know their call capacity, but I think it would be fair to assume there is lots of concern within the medical community.
A patient presents themselves with flu like symptoms and you now have to guess if it is early stage Ebola. At that point it is too late. Either Ebola has to be contained or the person-to-person transmission process has to be more difficult than it seems to be.
7 days before symptoms, screening for what. millions w money will flee to EU, US. Its coming.
The President gave an impromptu statement from the 4th hole of the Mink Meadows Golf Course in Martha's Vineyard. "Folks need to relax. There ain't nothing for folks to be worried about. It's not an airborne disease." The White House commented later that the President had no plans to cut his vacation short.
I think 0baMao should go on a good will tour of the affected countries, to show solidarity with his African bruthas.
That really is an excellent idea!
Follow that up with intensive negotiations with Congressional leadership, and you've got a total winner.
Is this the same President who said the Eastern Ukraine rebels shot down MH17? Or that Assad used chemical weapons? Or that if you like your health care coverage you can keep your coverage?
"Most international airlines flying to West Africa in the grip of the deadly Ebola outbreak are counting on stepped-up passenger screening as they continue serving the region."
They are "counting on stepped-up passenger screening"... How comforting...
The screening is a questionnaire. If you suspect that you might have Ebola and think that you can get ZMapp in the US (for free, along with an EBT card, free education and a chance to vote) - then how truthfully will you answer those questions?
You can't stop a walking time bomb with passenger screening. An infected person may not be showing any symptoms and be allowed on a plane. Once he or she gets to another country, they become infectious and spread the disease.
EVERY FLIGHT OUT OF AFRICA SHOULD HAVE BEEN CANCELLED PERIOD. SINCE LAST MONTH THAT ENTIRE CONTINENT SHOULD HAVE BEEN SHUT DOWN. Any airline flying to and from Africa is guilty of genocide.
If nobody moves around the virus will burn itself out. The USA lets every fucking worthless piece of trash into the country so I wouldn't be surprised if there are already 1000 people or more infected with Ebola.
Honestly if you want to be safe from Ebola, go to Japan. Pretty much the only country to take things like this seriously. Sure they overeacted to H1N1, but maybe that is why it didn't spread.
To quiet American fears, our "dear leader" should prove Ebola is "not easily transmitted" by being in a room full of Ebola patients. I'll feel much better about this whole thing when I see he's proven his point.
We should nuke affected countries from outer space.
It is the only way to be sure.
Does that mean you would nuke Atlanta?
Yes, I especially mean Atlanta.
Dumbass.
Does that mean you would nuke Atlanta?
Sherman already did that...
Actually, he didn't and it's time to get over it.
Culling the herd.
“Just Us” may think they are exempt... zero sympathy if they discover that the “vaccine(s) and/or cure(s)” rammed through the system are just another Obummercare type of scam along the lines of “maximizing profits while promising to protect everyone”. - ROFL.
Good luck in “vaccine” court - http://www.uscfc.uscourts.gov/vaccine-programoffice-special-masters
Another fun thought - since there are so few survivors, does anyone really know whether an Ebola survivor can become a 'carrier' and pass it on to others even after they appear to have recovered? Think something along the line of chicken pox (damn birds again) and shingles... only contagious.
Once they have recovered they are still infections for up to a week. You only beat Ebola if your immune system learns how to fight off the disease and wins. For most people that doesn't happen.
There may be people who are immune to Ebola just like certain flu viruses.
The question no one seems to ask (MM), is how did 100+ medical personel, who are treating the sick in outfits you could land on the moon in, get infected.
In law school you are taught never to ask a question for which you don't know the answer
The problem here is that they either 1) Don't know the answer; or 2) Don't want us to know the answer.
Wouldn't you say that these "suits" have their own giant problems? They create so much more space for the virus to land on; are notoriuously difficult to clean and even worse to try and move in.
They might be better off wearing painter's cloths, ect with goggles and gloves and boots. Can these suits really be cleaned?
I think they typically spray you down with bleach and then burn the suits.
Good thing our border is secure.
This isn't the flu, this isn't a cold virus. This is one of the worst ways to die period. While the number infected still is not very large the outbreak is somewhat contained by the fact that most of the infected die at home and do not come in contact with large groups of people.
In the USA it won't work that way. One airplane, one bus, one subway car will be enough to start a pandemic. One sweating nauseated person, thinking they just have a cold, will casue multiple infections. Once that happens the exponential increase will be unavoidable. The Ebola virus can live outside the host for at least three days, perhaps up to ten. That is up to ten days that a subway bench that is never cleaned can infect people.
The worst part about this is that you become infected and don't even know it for days. When the infection becomes symtomatic, you'll be sweating infection virus out of every pore. At fisrt you won't think you have Ebola and srat infecting everyone you have close contact with.
If Ebola is in the USA it is already too late to contain it. The government and the CDC knows that.
One of the greatest contributing factors to the spread of the disease--if it occurs--is the stupidity of the average big fat slob who feels entitled to treat other people with lack of respect. I like to think karma can be a bitch
Exactly and that is why I am nearly certain it is already out..if it is in Lagos it spreading EXPONENTIALLY as you said it..I think we are going to hear about Europe testing next up.
No, the Fed will just print more.
If this fear continues, this could be a very interesting flu season. ERs will not be able to handle it.
I wonder if the average TSA agent's IQ would even allow such ponderance?
Picked up a copy of "The Hot Zone" yesterday...have not read that since I was 14 ish...I needed a refresher in why I was so convinced that one day this would be the Virus to kill nearly all of us in a "The Stand" like event...About 15 pages in I remembered exactly why this book frightened the hell out of me..
Ebola is completely unable to be contained the moment it hits any large city because it is a hider...the last place you wanna go is a hospital..the quotes above from the Dr. hit it all on the head.
We're long overdue for a little human downsizing.
Although the Spanish Flu of 1918 was pretty quick, this Ebola lets you hang around for days while your organs turn to mush.
Imagine one guy getting sick at Kennedy Itn' Airport.
Never fear. FEMA is prepared with 5 seater coffins.
Look on the bright side. If you own CAT, you should get a pretty good bump there also.
If an outbreak of Ebola happens in the US I guarantee this will be the end of Obama liberalism. Whether he's infected or not.
Is it time to panic yet?
FWIW I'm still planning on planting my fruit trees next year
Why are we, as per map, importing monkeys from the Philippines?
uh...for what purpose?
For testing - this is where the infected Monkeys from "The Hot Zone" were imported from that resulted in the Reston ebola strain. Act II?
stateside
The West is importing monkeys from all over the world. Noamsane?

Well, that'll FIX it. Panic is over boys, get back to work.
"FrontPageAfrica has now learned that upon being told he had Ebola, Mr. Sawyer went into a rage, denying and objecting to the opinion of the medical experts. “He was so adamant and difficult that he took the tubes from his body and took off his pants and urinated on the health workers, forcing them to flee."
http://frontpageafricaonline.com/index.php/news/2506-sawyer-s-final-hour...
Mr Sawyer a PROUD AMERICAN CITIZEN, as is his wife and children from COON RAPIDS Minnesota, also a LIBERIAN citizen. University and .gov tell us that "race is a social construct" you know I have serious doubts about that.
sawyer, former finance ministry consultant... why he? ah yes, his sister had it. why his sister? i mean hes not anybody. what was he up to? what did he know? what business was he into nowadays? i think this is a track to follow.
And why the hell was he given American citizenship?
Now that’s what I’m saying.
Grab the .308 and massacre 500 people…. “I panicked, I’m sorry. I apologize to you and my fellow countrypeeps.”
shit flinging monkey.
Q99X2 reads his Ebola with his breakfast.
I feel much better having read my first Ebola article of the day.
Yet another exponential graph developing? See Liberia.
http://cdn.pjmedia.com/richardfernandez/files/2014/08/outbreak.jpg
Aye! That is not good.
Looks like the death curve is not flattening in relation to the infection curve either.
Just pass a law and put up "Ebola Free Zone" signs.
Can't Obama pass some kind of executive order against Ebola? I'm sure that would make us all safe.
He's already given his assurances we're safe
Do you nottrust the word of the saviour?
If you know any families with children or other family members teaching, working, helping, or otherwise visiting Africa this might be a good time to discuss a timely return visit back to the U.S. for a little while. The exit gates may shut down soon.

By the way BUSHMEAT, including GORILLA PAWS, have been sold on the black market (no pun intended) in Brooklyn, and the Bronx New York City for the last 2 decades.
Monkey Meat and the Ebola Outbreak in Liberia
VICE News, June 26, 2014
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XasTcDsDfMg
West Africa is being plagued by a new outbreak of Ebola–a terrifying disease that causes its victims to bleed to death from the inside out. Ebola has no cure, and the latest epidemic is spreading fast.
VICE News visited Liberia, where many feel the new outbreak began, borne from the bushmeat markets of Lofa. Western scientists feel that the consumption and preparation of meat from monkeys, fruit bats, and other forest animals is behind the transmission of Ebola, and possibly a new supervirus, which if left uncontrolled could kill a third of the world’s population.
“BUSHMEAT”
Are American deer, squirrel and rabbit hunters eating “BUSHMEAT”? Isn’t all “wild game” the same, ‘BUSHMEAT’?
No, bushmeat is a term for meat of unknown or non-game/nontypical origin. Venison, rabbit, squirrel is not bush-smeat.
Anyone who has ever lived in West Africa knows that it is absolutely impossible to avoid daily close physical contact with hundreds of people. As you ride a bus, walk down a road, or go to market you come into direct contact with literally hundred of sweating people (body fluids) and your feet and probably your hands come into contact with saliva, urine and feces (more fluids) virtually everywhere you touch anything. Don't even get me started on what you have to eat and drink. And of course you don't even have to touch anything - the flies bring it all to your eyes, ears and mouth 24/7.
There is simply no way to prevent the spread of this disease in West Africa.
Sounds like New York City!
Spews the 'tard who's obviously never been....
Cute username McFarty - I lived and worked in Nigeria, Tchad and Senegal for 6 years. Do you have any creds - at all?
The major cities in India are exactly the same way.
So an epidemic that wipes out millions might be just what the doctor ordered?
To think that whites go to those shit-piss countries as sex tourists. I can't re-read; http://www.skrewdriver.net/turner23.html because it is too terrible. But sturdy people may want to read some. It's on audio for those who can't read.
I agree with your description of the region. But why then have previous incidents of ebola not developed into pandemics?
Forty years ago there were very few foreign flights; few people had modern transportation, most villagers stayed within walking distance of their village. As China, the US, and other countries have sought to exploit/(bad word, sorry) the resources of Africa, the money pumped in has exploded the population and brought fast transportation and people moving to cities (just like China) for the work/money.
Nigeria 170 MILLION people in a country the size of California; best number is that only 50% of the population that is URBAN has running water and no numbers on how clean that water is. Rural running water...very little have it.
It's also said that the streams and waterways of Nigeria are as polluted as those of China due to waste being constantly thrown in it.
Inter-country (within Africa) flights are now a nightmare for the spread of this; much less overseas flights.
China is pretty dirty too and look where that fruit bat population is located.
Bring out ya dead!
Clang.
But I am not dead yet!
Greenland is suddenly looking very attractive.
Obama may be scheming to bring in upwards of ten to twenty million poor africans into the United States as refugees from Ebola (after all, isn't it discrimatory to let all the Mexicans in without equal numbers of african children as well followed by their extended families). Obama cares not one bit for the sovereignty of our country. He is against you, Mr. and Mrs. Whitey... " You have had too much handed to you. You have not earned the right to live the way you do. My people in Africa have a share in this world, too. And I aim to open a pathway for them to take it. I am the president and I can damn well do what I please. I have a phone, a pen and the executive power to exercise my will. And I care not for your protectionist sentiments. If you don't like it, sue me." The more he can dilute your culture, your prosperity, your way of living, the closer he comes to destroying the hegemony of the U.S.A.
And the closer he is to realizing the dreams of his father... one socialistic world order under the sole rule of elite masters who control everything. The New World Order is a camouflage term for Socialist World Order. Let's call it what it is.
Obama wants chaos. One can take more power with chaos.
FUCK BATS.
Not literally I mean.
doubled, sorry
The dying unable to dispose of the dead makes this Ebola even more contagous.
The foreign press had pics of open graves with bodies that were left because the tractor got stuck in the mud. Gloves, boots, other contaminants laying strewn all around. PLUS graves mean animals digging them up; villagers went berserk saying they would "bleed" the virus into their wells and running streams as they don't have "indoor" water/modern water supplies.
They are trying to get crematoriums up and running in Libera. How long will that take?
Who is at risk?
EVERYONE IN THE WORLD!
Who?!
EVERYONE IN TEH WORLD!!1111!!!! (SRSLY!!!!!!)
Whatever.
Everyone without two copies of the: delta 34 marker.
32 surely. And isn't that for 3 strains of HIV and West Nile?
TV Commercial EBOLA released May 2001. Ebola Strain Links African Outbreak To A Lab Escape 8-6-14https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=6IW1PBCFxoU
This is just another periodical thinning of the herd
We have a category 1 CDC disease coming your way. Don't fucking blame us to use the weather channel. We see doom and gloom on Hawaii. We are fucking stealing the same fear for rounding up the masses.
Bounty hunter. Click and fire.
In related news....Uncle Joe Biden has sent his most sincere condolences to the nation of Africa for this horrible Angola tragedy....
there seem to still be people who want to believe that this is "no big deal" but it is in fact a big deal now and has an undeniable potential to be a much bigger deal in the near future.
this is a big deal because it is unprecedented in the history of the virus, ebola is doing things it has never done before. previous to this out break the largest one recorded affected 450 people in one single highly contained rural area, until now it had never spread beyond whatever small group of villages the infection started in. now, not only is it rampant in multiple urban centers it has managed to get on several airplanes and fly out of west Africa. from the stand point of maintaining containment that is the worst possible thing that can happen. to make matters worse at least one person, Sawyer, collapsed in a major international airport, he didn't present with early symptoms at the local hospital or get isolated at the airport after being screened and displaying a high fever, no he was at the crash and bleed out stage when he walked off that plane. which means he was symptomatic before he got on the plane, while he was on the plane and in the airport after. how do you track and test everybody he came into contact with and everybody they came into contact with after ect, ect? you don't. remember the passengers has already disembarked, how many where still in the airport to contact? how many left the airport and dispersed into a city of 21 million people? how many of the new cases in Lagos are directly related to Sawyer crashing at that airport and did they have any kind of direct contact with Sawyer?
I see a lot of comparisons to infection and death rates of influenza being tossed around as the reason why anybody worried about this is just being an over reactive doomer or whatever. this comparison might initially seem to provide a sense of security due to the far fewer number of reported cases and deaths when compared to flu out breaks but that is, I think, a very false security and I don't see it holding up much longer.
first, only medically confirmed or suspected cases and deaths are reported and as we know many more people are hiding out, taking care of their own loved ones and not showing up at hospitals. at the rate this is spreading there could be be thousands if not tens of thousands of unreported cases and those numbers will grow the more local health infrastructure becomes overwhelmed and unable to cope with the situation. so the numbers that we see are in no way accurate to how many cases and deaths have occurred and that gap will only grow wider as the situation gets worse.
second, all viral infections start small, influenza does not infect millions of people overnight it has to spread from one host to the next to the next in conditions that promote the chain of transmission. that's what is so concerning about this recent ebola out break, it appears to be following that same chain, exhibiting some of the same transmission behaviors and patterns as influenza does. though up to this point, it seems to be a much slower burn than what the flu does thank god. still this is unprecedented behavior for ebola and should be raising alarms for all of us
third, it's all about the risk factor, influenza, even swine flu, comes with a very low mortality rate, if you catch it you will survive after a few days or a week of feeling like shit. it's not likely to kill you unless there is some other health condition complicating matters. this is not the case with ebola if you contract it chances are your going to die and die badly, if you catch it and mistake the early symptoms for something else and do not seek medical attention until later, more serious symptoms set in then you will die period. even a smaller pandemic involving ebola will kill far, far more people than a larger scale influenza out break. if 100 million catch the flu it's not likely that more than 5% or so will die, but if half that many become infected with ebola it will result in the deaths of at least 25 million people.
I'm not saying it's time to run to the hills just yet, but regardless of how and why this all started it is not simply a "distraction", ebola is a very real, very dangerous threat to the health and life span of anybody unfortunate enough to cross paths with it and given the fact that we know, for the first time, it has broken the west Africa containment in and uncontrolled, unintentional manner, it bears paying very, very close attention to. especially since it is becoming more and more likely that the case in Mt. Sinai is going to be our first uncontrolled positive in the US.
normalcy bias is fine, it helps us get through everyday life just don't let it be the reason you "never saw it coming".
Maybe you're right but I've heard so many similar emergencies that were going to kill us all but never amounted to a hill of beans.
I'd bet good money that ebola will be the same.
What should worry you is that they are Downplaying this...That is the worry here.
I’m near Detroit – last week during the Toledo Water Emergency I went to a Wal-Mart to buy water. The place was completely sold out of water, eerie (Lake Erie, a pun). Some customers were mulling about while I left and went on to the next Wal-Mart, which still had some bottled water. So I loaded up.
If the people you described haven’t prepared by today, they'll be in the crowd next week. Make sure to video the riots.
Soon it’s open season!
And bear in mind (all your points great ones) that Ebola is a virulent killer; all it does is kill. Flu likes to use bodies for recombining, using us as much for a test tube as anything else and that is how Ebola differs. It doesn't want to change; it just is what it is, as the saying goes.
Lastly, They apparently haven't found the guy that drove Sawyer to the airport, or don't want to admit who he is. Since Sawyer was employed by the Liberian govt in finance the driver was most likely a govt employee and may already be dead but they don't want anyone to know. hmm...don't ya love the Superior US citizens who take our citizenship and retain duo passports as did Sawyer; had he shown his Liberian passport rather than the US one, they might have been clued at the airport: That is an IMPORTANT point being ignored by the media.
I'd suggest minimizing contact this year as the holidays approach; start doing as much shopping as you can online. Much safer than crowds.
The world is more connected now. There were no cell phones and there was no internet in West Africa or anywhere else for that matter.
How do we even know that the statistics from early 70s' have any real merrit? People died in Africa, in remote villages and it wasn't always recorded as Ebola death.
It's the biggest outbreak because we are in a more connected world where every bush doctor has a cell phone.
I wish that more people had taken at least one microbiology class. Just because the media (in collusion with the various governments) incite fear (or try to, in order to control populations), it doesn't mean that the threat isn't there. In this case, it is. I'm jaded when it comes to military cases for war though....thanks Colin.
The human species is ripe for culling right now. We've not had a virus that exceeds birthrate in a long time. Perhaps we'll get it this time around.
Pretty good article describing the complexities of ebola's actions inside the body (what damage it inflicts, therefore why it's so dangerous): http://www.sciencebasedmedicine.org/ebola-outbreaks-science-versus-fear-mongering-and-quackery/
afordable care act kicks in.
Ebola... the latest fad amongst the lunatic fringe to panic about. Maybe it's spead my chemtrails!
I'm sure there were skeptics about the 1918 Spanish flu and european plague. Why not schedule a 3-week vacation in Lagos later this month? Bet you could get a real deal on hotel and airfare.
Did they have trolls and shills in 1918?
It should put your mind at ease that none of the other pandemics in recent years that were supposed to kill us all ever did.
Send them to Gaza .....that shud clear the place out!
I'm off to adjust my African human population growth model. Putting Lagos on watch for sharp downward revisions.
All some terrorist groups have to do is spread this virus in Manhattan eateries around Wall Street and in DC and after 21 days people start getting real sick.
This will exactly what the terrorism organizations want.
One reason I don't go to these types of places.
Yeah to 'weaponize' a human being who wants to be a suicide bomber they just need to fly them to Liberia, have them collect some snot from an infected person, then ingest it after they are onboard an international flight....fun times
This really has been my biggest concern about Ebie.
Unless it goes through a mutation that really allows it to get airborne, I don't see this going anywhere in the western world due to hygeine and communication.
But get a few religious soldiers/martyrs exposed and then quickly on an airplane to other parts of the world would ruin a lot of people's day.
My local "build it" store had an African checker when I went through a while back; he said what he missed was his "local" food. Meanwhile, the BBC reports that more than 7200 pounds of bushmeat (bats, monkeys, giant rats) is smuggled into Britain every year.
Bushmeat, of course, is the source for the virus. And now can we all say "Oh, joy...we are diversified!"
Of course, in the US, we are told that all must accomodate the foreigners when once they Had to become like us. As your kids return to school, ask yourself what the 35% of school budgets (more in places like CA) that is spent on accomodating/translating/ the foreign kids would do for OUR children; and you wonder why they aren't being educate?
As your children return to school, and especially if they are black, ask yourself why your children are abandoned to the teacher unions (overpaid and simply standing in front of the class "reciting" rather than teaching) where there souls and their futures are ground to dust beneath the teacher's get-in-and-get-out-with-mine Golden retirement checks/benefits after 20 YEARS when 40 has always been the standard to get to retirement paycheck.
And ask yourself, do you know what the teachers are really doing in the classroom? Do you receive an exact hour-by-hour syllabis of what has been "taught" to your child that day? If not, how can you be...as the schools complain about parents...involved? Demand a daily syllabis from your teacher/s. Finally, do you know that with internet connection teachers are running their ebay/etsy/google shop stores rather than teaching? Oh yeah, that pull out a book and read quiet time is now half the day while the teacher runs their biz.
Finally, if you are worried about Ebola, burn up the phones to the White House where the Kenyan won't shut down flights from Africa until we are sure we aren't murdering our own with more "compassion" and "selflessness."
Sorry, but I'm fed up with the lauding of the "selfless." Ya know who is really selfless, every single business owner who starts from scratch, works 90 hours a week, and then is dunned to "give back" so the selfless can collect their backpats while having wine in Sonoma or whereever.
Stop All Immigration. Stop the applauding of the so-called selfless. They aren't; they are disguised narcissists just like Oboma.
