Despite Police best efforts to force Ferguson residents off the streets, tensions reignited once again as night fell last night and, as The Guardian reports, a second man has been shot by police. Police officials told local reporters that the man was shot in Ferguson by a St Louis County officer after pointing a handgun at him soon after 1am on Wednesday. A crowd of around 250 young protesters were halted by police and separately a woman is being treated in hospital after being shot in the head during a drive-by shooting in the troubled city. Protesters exclaimed, "we have a right to assemble, a right to freedom," said Paul Muhammad. "But here we are facing what looks like a military imposing martial law. It is not acceptable." Interestingly, President Obama's official response "urging reflection" has been rejected as insultingly inadequate by many African American residents of Ferguson.

Police officials told local reporters that the man was shot in Ferguson by a St Louis County officer after pointing a handgun at him soon after 1am on Wednesday, following fresh demonstrations over the death on Saturday of Michael Brown.
The officer was responding to reports of shots being fired and men wearing ski masks carrying shotguns. The man was in critical condition in hospital, a police spokesman told the St Louis Post-Dispatch, Fox 2 and KMOV, and his gun was recovered at the scene.
But chaos reigns in the city it would appear...
A woman was separately being treated in hospital after being shot in the head during a drive-by shooting in the city. The incidents followed the peaceful end earlier to a tense standoff between protesters and police, prompting hopes of avoiding a third night of violence.
A raucous convoy of about 250 young demonstrators, marching along a main route into downtown Ferguson, was halted about 30 yards from a wall of police assembled at the entrance to the street where Brown was killed by a still-unidentified officer on Saturday.

Officers in military-style uniforms, some carrying high-powered rifles and wearing balaclavas, formed a line at least two men deep and blocking the entire width of Florrisant Street, the main drag where angry protests over Brown's killing had flared for the previous two nights.
Pitched behind two large armoured trucks, they repeatedly warned the demonstrators through a Tannoy system to "get out of the road or face arrest" – the same warning delivered on Monday night before officers fired teargas, rubber bullets and wooden baton rounds into the crowds.
But for 40 minutes, the protesters defied the threat. Some hung out of car windows, while others raised their arms aloft and repeated what has become their defining slogan: "Hands up, don't shoot." A police helicopter swooped around the dark sky above, shining a bright spotlight on the faces of the almost entirely African American crowd.

As the police declined to follow through with arrests, furious members of the crowd screamed obscenities at officers and urged them to "shoot those rubber bullets". But after 40 minutes in which it seemed that a repeat of Monday night's clashes would happen at any moment, the protesters abruptly melted away.
"We have a right to assemble, a right to freedom," said Paul Muhammad. "But here we are facing what looks like a military imposing martial law. It is not acceptable."

In a statement on Tuesday, Barack Obama described Brown's death as "heartbreaking". Noting the FBI investigation, the president appealed for calm. "I know the events of the past few days have prompted strong passions, but as details unfold, I urge everyone in Ferguson, Missouri, and across the country to remember this young man through reflection and understanding. We should comfort each other and talk with one another in a way that heals, not in a way that wounds."
The official response to Brown's death has been rejected as insultingly inadequate by many African American residents of Ferguson, a city of about 21,000 people where 67% of the population is black, yet 94% of the police force – and prominent figures in local government, such as the mayor – are white.

An unarmed man was shot by police. It happens every day of the year. It happens to people of every color and creed united by only one demographic - they are vulnerable without recourse against those who killed them, and even had they survived they would be without recourse. And vulnerability is a better predictor than race.
This is happening because we don't have Laws anymore. Now we have Men in power, and those subject to them. The Men in power, and their minions, do what they want and are immune from real prosecution.
Instead the minions get union deals with the Men in power to save face.
But in the rare cases where they actually could be prosecuted, HOW could they be prosecuted? Where once we had branches of government that were largely separate, now we have branches that are centralized.
The branches of government, and most industries, were centralized into cartels. The Legal cartel can only be entered through a cartel-approved school, passing a cartel-approved test, paying cartel fees, and following cartel rules. That cartel is enforced by the executive branch of government, and only partially funded by the legistlative branch.
The Legal Cartel consists of Enforcement - "Police", Prosecution - the DA, Judgement - Judges and courts, Punishment - Jails, and Defense which is exists on the fringes or is entirely extractionary.
Do you really expect a DA whose' carreer is made by prosecuting cases constructed by Police, who is protected by Police, to prosecute those same Police?
What about a judge that is protected by Police, and dependent on police for every aspect of his business?
What about the Punishment branch? Will jails make no distinction between a COP and you or I?
What about Defense? Is a policeman going to get the same kind of defender as you or I?
What does any of this have to do with Race?

OK, there's something wrong here. But the city isn't closed to news reporters -- like it might be in Russia or Iran. I don't necessarily agree that we're limited to tweets and YouTube. We have issues, but so far, we still have relative freedom of the press, even if the press chooses to be dopey a lot of the time.

As I read comments across such venues as Drudge Report, or Breitbart, and even here to a certain extent, I encounter post after post of of racially infused rhetoric.
Don't get me wrong, I long ago tired of the perpetual and politically motivated cries of racism (to be echoed by the ignorant, largely illiterate masses).
What concerns me here, and many of you as well, I am certain, is the distraction such division creates from the true enemy.
At every turn an effort is made to divide this country along racial, cultural, and economic lines, while at the same time a steady influx of, for want of a better term, barbarians swarm across our borders (many of whom are infected with a variety of contagious diseases). Our educational systems are continuously dumbed down (I could write an essay on this one having at one time been a teacher). Our people are drugged on prescription and street medications, and are losing their ability to discriminate, or even to articulate meaningfully. Monetary debasement has resulted in a steady erosion of consequence resulting in an increasingly dependent population whose members no longer even reach adulthood in appreciable numbers. And last, but by no means least, the world is being brought to the point of chaos either through neglect or outright intervention.
While most folks involved in the above in one manner or another are short sighted, are along for the ride believing there is something good in it for them, and are no more educated or capable of reason then the folks on whom they prey, despite their credentials or claims to expertise, there are others who seem to feel they are in control despite 6000 years of recorded history that one would think might have dissuaded them otherwise.
The fact is that no one human being or group of human beings are capable
of such control, and the end result of all of this is completely unpredictable short so saying that it will end badly and there will be no winners.
Still, all of this said, I find it irksome that folks continue to ridicule one another, or somehow find the behavior of some other group cause for laughter, or even hatred... and yes, I too grow weary of witnessing blacks riot and loot at every opportunity while the likes of Sharpton and Jackson descend like vultures to a feeding frenzy.
The fact is that all of it is simply sad. The fact that I find myself a member of such a collection of creatures, and that I am no less guilty and equally imbecilic is sad.
For those of you who see nothing beyond this life, no real actionable purpose that does not serve some immediate need for gratification, how is it that you manage to find reason for being? I heard this story from my boss’s boss, he was a general manager, at GM at his going away lunch (downsized out). He was a well respected manager (later a CEO of a big auto parts company). I got to hear the story because I had to stay sober and drive my boss back to the office. He told the story because of an argument two mangers were having about why America was going downhill. Here is the story the manager told that I never forgot…
A distinguished awarded American Ivy League historian held in high esteem (he did not name him) was coming near the end of his life in 1973. After 45 years of reading almost every book on history and teaching, this historian, was dismayed that he could never quite sum up in simple words the fate of nations. Nothing had helped him whether it was the bible, learned ancient writers or modern historical texts. So while in ill health he gave himself one final task before he died fully knowing he might not live to see it through. His task was to define the fate of nations in the simplest terms.
To seed his dying wish he called one last time on a wealthy school donor and told her of his plight. He told her he knew he was dying and he wanted her to fund his dying wish. She was moved by his plight and granted the school the money (… because he had never asked her for funds in all the years she had known him…).
To do this final task he talked the school into letting him pick the best and brightest students in all backgrounds. Under his guidance these students began the task and worked months. But to his dismay they could only come up with pages and pages of definition that frustrated him to no end.
Then one day a grad student from India walked into their meeting room walled with chalk boards and started to laugh as he read their notes. The professor looked up from his reading not amused and said “…what is so funny young man!…” The student from India said “…I know of your project…It reminded me of my father’s village in India and why it died out… the people did not learn …Your history has gone too far away from the people…”
The words of the young man went off like a light bulb in the professor’s head. Within days he and his group complete his final task. Soon after the professor gave his final lecture from a wheel chair he stated the simple principal all nations from the beginning of time. With days of this lecture he passed away. What he and his students came up were the words:
