Police suggest Brown was prime suspect in a crime... As The BBC reports,
Michael Brown, the black teenager shot by police on Saturday in Ferguson, Missouri, was a suspect in a robbery just moments earlier, police have said.
Police say Mr Brown, 18, was one of two men suspected of robbing a nearby convenience store.
Minutes later he was shot by Officer Darren Wilson after a struggle, Ferguson police Chief Thomas Jackson said on Friday.

Forty-five percent of US citizens don’t trust in justice amid police killings of civilians, according to a poll by HuffPost and YouGov in the immediate aftermath of the shooting of Michael Brown, a black teen, by a white officer in Ferguson, Missouri.

Sixty-nine of black Americans thought the officers used lethal force too frequently, while only 37 percent of white Americans thought so. Over 65 percent of black US citizens don’t trust the justice system to deal with the guilty, while 40 percent of the white population don’t believe in the system either.

After nearly a week of protests, on Friday the Ferguson, Mo. Police Department identified the officer who shot 18-year-old Michael Brown.
At a press conference, Ferguson Police Chief Thomas Jackson said Darren Wilson, a police officer who had been serving in the force for six years, was responsible for the shooting.
Jackson did not take questions, but earlier told CNN that the responsible officer was "devastated."
The news comes after five days of turmoil in Ferguson, a St. Louis suburb of 21,000.
On Sunday night, Darren Wilson shot and killed Brown, who was unarmed. Since then, there have been protests in the street every night. Ferguson police initially responded with SWAT teams, tear gas, and rubber bullets. On Thursday, the state government announced a switch, taking St. Louis County police officers off the beat and placing Missouri State Highway Patrol officers in command.
The naming comes after hackers tried to figure out the officer responsible for themselves. On Thursday, Anonymous released the name and photo of a Ferguson police officer the group claimed to be the man who shot Brown. Ferguson police quickly denied their claim, and Twittersuspended the Anonymous account that had sent out the information.

“If you’re treating a police department employee like this, how are we treating our citizens?” Wilson asked.

You are failing to see the distinctions in these scenarios.
If someone pushes you back through your front door and tries to take your gun from you, yes, you are justified in shooting them. If they are running away, the situation becomes more complicatd - did you have a reasonable suspicion that he was retreating to obtain a weapon and re-engage you? That might be a tougher sell to the jury.
However, if the invader pushes you back through your front door and tries to take your gun, you shoot them, and then they then fall down and cease to be an immanent threat to your safety - the law does not allow you take a step back, releoad, and squeeze-off a carefully aimed round or two into their head "just to finish the job." That is murder - and could get you a long prison sentence regardless of how much of an asshole the invader is/was.
In fact, failing to call 911 or an ambulance until after the bastard bleeds-out, could get you into the same trouble.

Los Angeles police and sheriffs have been shooting and killing suspects like crazy the last few years (or even more embarassing trying and missing) and I think local radio host Bryan Suits kind of explained why yesterday. Police procedures and training tell them that the *only* time they can pull the gun is when in immediate fear of their lives, so they are further taught that when they shoot, they shoot to kill only, because that is *justified* by the situation.
Then this works backwards. It shouldn't, but it does. Cop thinks he should kill ASAP anytime after he believes his life is in danger. Doesn't even notice the kid has raised his hands, or is lying on the ground. Cops are human too and all hopped up on adrenaline maybe not thinking too clearly, and to put it mildly not all cops are the most easygoing types in the first place.
Sounds like they've got to change that basic training and clarify what constitutes justification, right now it just invites abuse and unnecessary killing.
They create situations that they hope justify shooting and killing because they like to shoot and kill.

In fact he had intervened with the "loud music" person as a favor to the elderly residents who were afraid of the music player. His shooting was investigated by 2 Asian RCMP investigators Cpl. Darren Kakuno and Const. Jason Tran. The attorney who was hired to find out what really happened, the late Victoria lawyer Doug Christie said that never before has he been so "stonewalled" when it came to getting details about an incident. Mr Hughes was UNARMED.

If he indeed did do that mini robbery then it is good this cop took him out as it seems he was clearly a thug and it's likely he would have just ended up in jail down the line for something more serious.
Having said that, I am skeptical of this robbery info since I hate cops and don't trust them one bit nor does this justify some of the things those cops have done since all the protest drama started.
Posting a picture of the dead man stealing before getting shot unarmed...is that a justification for killing him? What's the purpose of the pictures or even video tape of him stealing? The question that should be asked is how was he shot? How many times was he shot? Were their bruises on the shooter cop consistent to struggle for the cop's gun?
I'm not justifying the looting and riot which is what you get with a mob even in a ballgame celebration it happens because people use it to cover their desire to steal. All I'm saying is why put these pictures as if it's the justification of the cop shooting him dead because he's a bad man and he deserves to be shot. Oh, I see it's to stop the rioting because he stole before he was shot unarmed and he wasn't as inocent as the rioters perceived.

Posting pictures of the criminal activity before said shooting is to put into context that this "gentle giant" is not so gentle after all.
The media has tried to make these thugs wannnabees out as just innocent, sweet, wouldn't hurt a fly victims of unjustifiable police force when they are the opposite.
Try this one out. Say the cop stopped the kid and tried to ask him if he was at this store where the robbery took place and he fit the description. Say the kid said fuck you and tried to grab the cops gun as the officer responded by say trying to get out of the vehicle and the gun goes off and pushes the officer back into the car.
Then as the officer tries to apprehend the suspect by asking to stop and comply while pointing his gun at him the suspect doesn't stop but just walks away without compying with the officers commands. Say the cop tells him stop or i'll shoot. say the kid stopped and turned around with his hands up, but then tried to rush the officer. Remember this kid is 6' 4" 300lbs. Anyone, including an officer, would shoot more than once at someone that big charging them.
Not saying these is the facts, but when one asks why the police show these images is to be ignorant of the medias attempt to race bait the coverage and facilitate an agenda.

another angle is that the kid could've been walking away with his hands up in a sarcastice manner knowing that the officer couldn't subdue him physically and the officer fired a warning shot but instead hitting the kid. cops can be nervous too. they don't encounter that situation everyday to deal with the adrenaline that is pumping through their body when not every instance is a speeding ticket, b&e, or dui.
I also do not discount the unlawful actions by our serve and protect people. my father was a sheriff for 30 years and i was privilaged to many conversation between cops, not all white, and even then i was taken back at some of their statements. their is a mentality about them just like the criminals we have in government.
Not all are bad, but most of them are. Police get it worse because they are the direct force by government rather than the soft tyranny inflicted indirect government force.
I say accept the word of the other robbery co-suspect! He is bound to tell the truth depsite any silly video that susggests otherwise!
