Another Police Shooting In St. Louis, Just 3 Miles From Ferguson: "Suspect Dead At The Scene" - Live Feed
St.Louis city police are investigating a fatal police shooting in St.Louis City - less than 3 miles from Ferguson - today at 1230pm. Residents heard at least 5 shots fired. The suspect approached the officers with a knife in an open-hand grip and screamed "shoot me, kill me now." One witness described it at 'suicide by cop'.

As St.Louis Post-Dispatch reports,
St. Louis city police officers shot and killed a man they say brandished a knife at them outside a market Tuesday afternoon.
The shooting was about 12:30 p.m., police said.
Witnesses said the man who was shot had been inside Six Stars Market at Riverview Boulevard near McLaran Avenue. He took items from the market and left, followed by a market employee, witnesses said.
When the market employee told the man he would have to pay for the items, the man started throwing the items on the street and sidewalk. St. Louis Alderman Dionne Flowers, who works at a nearby beauty shop, witnessed the encounter, according to St. Louis Police Chief Sam Dotson. She described the man as acting erratically and was grabbing at his waistband, Dotson said.
"The store owner and the alderwoman said the suspect was armed with a knife, acting erratically, pacing back and forth in the street, talking to himself," said Dotson, who spoke at the scene.
Employees at the market and the beauty shop called 911 and two police officers arrived, police said.
The officers ordered the man to get down, according to Dotson. The man, 23, became more agitated and walked toward them, reaching for his waistband. Witnesses told police the man was yelling "Shoot me, kill me now," during the encounter.
The officers drew their weapons and ordered the man to stop. He did stop, but then pulled out a knife and came at the officers with it held up hight, Dotson said. They ordered him to stop and drop the knife. When he got within two or three feet of the officers, they fired, killing the man.
“This is a lethal range for a knife,” Dotson said.
The officers were not hurt, police said. They were put on administrative duty pending an investigation.
Initially, a crowd that had gathered at the shooting scene was peaceful, but when Dotson started speaking to reporters at the impromptu press conference, the crowd became rowdier and started chanting the now familiar, “Hands up, don't shoot,” a common refrain at Ferguson protests.
Several older residents in the area got between those shouting and the police line and tried to calm the crowd. The shouts subsided but escalated again when the press conference concluded, and Dotson appeared to be walking away.
Dotson went into the midst of the crowd and reiterated all of the details he had provided the press. Dotson's actions calmed the situation along with help from the residents, who yelled, “Listen up” and “Keep quiet,” when the crowd tried to interrupt.
Several in the crowd asked why police did not use tasers to bring down the subject. Dotson said police officers have the right to defend themselves when an agitated man is coming at them with a knife. Said the chief, “Officers have a reasonable expectation to go home at the end of their shift.”

Go read the private Autopsy the family had on their son that was murdered. The cop shot the poor bastard and hit his arms, when the kid was falling to the ground the bullet that killed him hit him at the top of the head.

All that autopsy demonstrates is that he was facing the officer and had his head down. As far as putting his arms up, try the experiment of charging somebody with your hands in your pockets, it does not work well. You will be charging with your arms held up around eye level or there abouts and your head somewhat leaned forward for balance purposes. The head down comes from the fact that the "kill shot" entered his head from the top and went downwards in his body. Brown was ~6' 4". I doubt the cop was taller. The only way that the officer could have gotten a shot off that went through Brown would be to have Brown's head aimed downwards to some degree unless the officer was standing on a ladder. He wasn't. It is looking increasingly like Mr. Brown was coming back for second helpings on Officer Wilson's face.
Junction, the real truth is much more simple than your contrived scenario. Your supposed facts don't fit the actual facts very well either. The autopsy was unable to say which shots were fired first. The family's second autopsy confirmed that. Conflicting 'eye witness accounts' shows that those cannot be used to determine much at all. If this was so well planned why was he in the habit of taking long lunch breaks when he knew that was when he would have to perform his 'action'? Why would they plan it so as to look suspicious? You put too much faith in movies.
The head shot that was the kill shot would have taken him down instantly. That was the final shot. Others prior to that are conjectural.
Turn off the TV and the movies and go outside and talk to real people. Please.

The MRI of Officer Darren Wilson's face came out an hour ago. Beautiful break to the left eye socket. I wouldn't be surprised to learn that his eye was actually dangling down his face. Regardless, either through pain, emotional rage or just impaired vision, I think that we can give the officer a pass for not being able to hit a bull's eye at a three mile distance the moment of the shooting.
That doesn't mean that Officer Wilson was justified firing off six plus rounds.

As far as the timing of the shooting relative to the November elections, I think you are onto something. The Trayvon Martin case never should have come to trial. Do you care to take a guess what happens if you shoot someone 1 or 2 times in something non-essential? Maybe you hit their left arm and then it passes through something else. Depending on the caliber, they can keep coming at you, and that's not abnormal by any definition of the word. They're not firing shotguns at people from close range here. So yes, if someone is going to fire once, then the odds are that more bullets are coming in very close succession. 2 or 3 shots is common, and more than that is less common, but it's not some crazy situation like you're thinking.

Basically, it's not a one-and-done window of time when someone is shot. Especially not with 9mm that many law enforcement carry. Nor is it as easy to hit bulls-eyes when firing. Under pressure, from 7feet away, maybe being off a few inches isn't that good. From 15 feet or so, being off a few inches from where you're aiming is pretty good though, and when taking into account a moving target, it gets worse.
And if someone is coming at you with a knife, if they get in close, a knife stab can do more damage than a bullet wound.
