Following the death of another young black male in St.Louis, tonight has all the possibility of being another one of violence in Ferguson, Missouri. However, for now, there have been several arrests. In general police presence is notably less militarized, but in the last few minutes, tactical teams have started to rollout as protesters march chanting "hands up, don't shoot" or "justice for Mike Brown." Missouri Governor Jay Nixon commented, the Mike Brown shooting has "ripped open old wounds," and calls for "vigorous" prosecution.

I saw the diagram with the bullet wounds and I have shot lots of semi-auto pistols and it looks to me like the first shots hit the boy in the arms and worked their way up to his head as the cop compensated for the pulling to the left.

I think you summarized the incident nicely. And I don't disagree with any of your assertions. But, I think what's happening in Ferguson is a larger issue that was set off by a small fuse named Brown. This case can hopefully be fairly adjudicated, but I'm afraid that won't solve what we're seeing in MO.
I think this is a much larger socio-economic "protest" that took the Brown killing as a reason for commencement. A lot of racial and poverty-related angst is being displayed here, and will likely be displayed in more parts of the US as time goes on. It's painful to watch, but hopefully it makes us more introspective.
It's encouraging that we're finally talking about the militarization of the police and limiting of the use of force against the populace. If any positve change comes out of this, demilatarization would be one of the best.
