St.Louis PD Release 'Suicide-By-Cop' Shooting Clip
As we noted previously, just days after the fatal shooting of Mike Brown in Ferguson, a 2nd officer-involved shooting ended in death for the suspect just miles from Ferguson. St.Louis Police Department - in the interests of transparency - have released video of both the alleged shoplifting and the so-called 'suicide-by-cop' shooting itself of 25-year-old Kajieme Powell.."Powell approached the officers when they arrived, yelling at them to shoot him already. When he ignored commands to drop the knife, the two officers fired a total of 12 shots."
As St.Louis public radio reports,
Powell was suspected of shoplifting energy drinks and donuts from a convenience store. The shop owner, believing that Powell was carrying a weapon, contacted police.
Another witness, Ald. Dionne Flowers, who represents the area and owns a beauty salon in the same block, noticed that Powell was acting erratically and also called police. Flowers told police she saw a second knife, though only one was recovered at the scene.
Powell approached the officers when they arrived, yelling at them to shoot him already.
When he ignored commands to drop the knife, the two officers fired a total of 12 shots. Chief Sam Dotson said the knife was like a steak knife.

You on the other hand saw a amateurs video and assume it was facts. You stated you saw a revolver yet police aren't issued those and if they are it's on request.

My dad was a cop on patrol for 15 years. He trained cops for 20 fucking years. He was a cop in Vietnam with the State Department. He ran an armed security outfit for 10 years. I helped out on the firing range. We talked about police work all the time, he was always pointing out good and bad police conduct my entire life.

Didn't exactly charge and they sure moved in unsafely close to start with. Its not anti-cop here is just cops that are footloose and fancy free about killing people when there could be other alternatives no one seems to bother to pursue. Also this quick to kill the citizen thing can backfire as citizens knowing this may become quicker to kill cops.

One of my best friends father, an Illinois State Policeman was executed with a .38 in the head on a routine traffic stop back when they used to bring the perp and sit him down in the front seat while writing the ticket. that was in 1970. Random trarffic stop (I mean, completely random, unless there was some kind of robbery just went down) they pulled me out of my car, held me on the sidewalk with my hands restrained behind my back, and searched my car. I was amused enough at the time to let them do whatever they wanted and just watched them work. I will never forget that. Bad move guys, I'm onto you now, and you probably don't want this for an enemy.

CD I don't know what to think anymore except that the world is just a fucked up place. On one hand that seemed to be a job for a taser, on the other, one lesson my parents never had to teach me was not to commit a crime and then scream at the police to shoot me. That's about as far as I get with this. They may have to start the NFL a week early.

If he was high on PCP and continued to charge even though tased, then yes, shoot to kill, some of those PCP heads can't be brought down with just taser alone.
They don't feel pain and somehow develop super strength. I've seen a video of a PCP head walking around with his intestines hanging out of his abdomen. And the guy had no idea he had ripped his abdomen wide open.
I've seen other videos where the PCP head was knocking cop after cop down while running down the street nakid.
What a lot of people may not realize is that PCP is once again a scourge of the inner cities. Its in liquid form and they soak cigarettes with it. The druggies smoke the cigarette and go berserk.
We're asking these cops to deal with this shit on a daily basis in the inner cities. How many people want to deal with gang bangers, drug cartel members, druggies hopped up on all types of drugs from synthetics like PCP to meth in the inner cities?
Shooting people is not the answer, but has anyone come up with a different answer. Certainly not anyone from D.C., that's for sure. They even want to add more to the inner cities by bringing more losers in from the 3rd world.
How many feet can a man cover in one second? When you start talking about one guy tasers and then the other guy shoots if the taser doesn't work, you need to think about how close he was when the weapon was produced.
If a man is within 20 feet of you, there simply is no time to do all that. He will cut you to ribbons before your pre determined protocol can be implemented. Body armor does not stop a blade.
I don't disagree with anything you posted. And, my scenario would be the optimal one. But, since both cops more than likely arrived in separate cruisers there was propably no real way to agree ahead of time who would pull the taser and who would pull the pistol.
Tragically, at the back of their minds was the thought that this guy could be whacked out on PCP or some other synthetic drugs like Molly or bath salts that can drive some users into totally violent psychotic rages.

The idea is that they should act in a fashion commensurate to the crime. Both of them firing at him like that it was as if someone opened up on him with a machine gun. They have tasers. They could have shot him 1-2 times in the legs to immobilize him.
The truth is unless you're willing to go into some of these inner cities and face down some of these people high on drugs. And, we're not talking about weed or heroin or cocaine or even crack. PCP and other synthetic drugs like Molly or bath salts or even meth can make these people extremely violent and dangerous to deal with.
Its rather easy to sit in your safe white suburban home and judge how it should be done instead of actually putting yourself on the line dealing with the gang bangers, the cartel drug dealers, and the drugged out zombies roaming the inner cities.
I have gone on "ride alongs" in a major city quite a few times. I never questioned that there are times when a very aggressive stance is required. I actually am for the cops having the military style equipment. That forces me to assume/hope they know when to use it and how to use it.

Moreover, people should realize that when they sign up to be cops, they are signing up to the mop and broom of society. Despite what is shown in movies and chicks liking uniforms or whatever, signing up to be the cleanup crew means that you will encounter bad elements.

Just this week Orlando, Fl Cops plugged a 21 year old female sitting in a bar when they opened up on a nut with a gun outside the bar. He took one to the leg, she bled out in a few seconds. News claimed the bullet did it. Bad bullet!!!
