Congress Proposes Law Banning Body Armor In The Land Of The Free

Tyler Durden's picture

Submitted by Simon Black via Sovereign Man blog,

By the late 1920s, Joseph Stalin became the unchallenged leader of the Soviet Union after having eliminated his opposition.

He topped it off in 1929 by serving a decisive blow to anyone that would dare to oppose him by outlawing private gun ownership in the country.

From that year on until 1953 when Stalin died, it’s estimated that more than 20 million Soviet citizens that were seen as a threat to the country’s leadership.

People were rounded up and either murdered outright, or sent to infamous gulag labor camps.

Stalin is an extreme case. But history is ripe with examples of governments which disarm their citizens, only to engage in serious oppression afterwards.

Communist China. Nazi Germany. Cambodia. Guatemala. Uganda. The list goes on and on. Pacification of the citizens is almost always a prerequisite to totalitarianism.

There have been a lot of attempts to disarm, or at least partially disarm, people in the US throughout history as well.

Each time there’s a major shooting somewhere, the chant to ban firearms grows louder.

But the latest proposal is especially telling.

H.R. 5344 is a bill currently going through Congress that would ban the purchase of body armor.

Violation would carry CRIMINAL penalties, including up to ten years in prison.

Many bullet-resistant items on the market now, such as bulletproof backpacks for school children, would be banned by this legislation.

This is incredible given that the legislation is all about banning something that is purely defensive.

Whatever your stance on firearms, I hope we can agree that it’s pretty damn difficult to hurt another human being with body armor.

People buy body armor for protection. That’s the point. Duh.

So why in the world would they want to ban it?

The government claims that “criminals and rampaging madmen” can “wreak havoc” while wearing body armor, and it’s important to shield police from these nefarious individuals.

Uh, wait a sec– you mean the same police that go around terrorizing ordinary citizens who aren’t breaking any laws whatsoever?

The same police who beat homeless people to death?

The same police who shoot and kill innocent animals in broad daylight in the middle of the street?

The same police who scream “I will f***ing kill you!” with their weapons trained on crowds of protestors exercising their constitutional rights?

Right. Those guys.

This is such a disgusting, yet unfortunately predictable, turn of events in the Land of the Free.

It’s enraging. It’s infuriating. And it’s so obvious: the country has become a giant police state. And the trend is not getting any better.

It’s time to set aside emotion. It’s time to set aside a lifetime of propaganda and programming telling you that you live in a free country.

It’s time to look at the objective evidence all around you.

They spy. They steal. They wage illegal wars. They authorize military detention of civilians. They assassinate citizens.

They intimidate. They terrorize. They torture. They suspend due process when it suits. They destroy anyone who challenges them.

And now they want to take away a non-violent means of protecting yourself.

This is our reality. And at a minimum, it’s time for rational, thinking people to come up with a Plan B. What’s yours?

It's been proposed before and won't ever pass. Why? There are a dozen armor makers in the US and each sale is tracked meticulously from grain of sand to "protective" suit. If you own Kevlar, they know it.

If armor is outlawed every knitter, crocheter and loomer would suddenly become the cottage badass in the hood. Granny Heisenberg.

This is another provocation. Don't look, don't bite, don't give a shit.

Buy a recon chest sling and plate. Be agile. They're scared and going for center mass. You're moving in for the liver shot. They won't hit you because they're fat, stupid and scared and you're not.

I suppose the police will now be able to shoot you and claim they were executing a body armor search.  They suspected you were wearing body armor because you look bigger than them.  They fired multiple times to test for illegal protection.

Communist China. Nazi Germany. Cambodia. Guatemala. Uganda.

Nazi Germany? He probably means Nationalsocialist Germany.

But it's wrong anyway to include it in the list: The Germans were encouraged to have weapons!

Only Jews were not allowed to have weapons after some time, since the Jewish nation declared war on Germany already in early 1933!

So according to international law the Jews were a hostile nation and according to international law, the German government could have arrested Jews from 1933 on.

Oh, and Hitler didn't have to hide, he was driving in a cabriolet among his people, which he encouraged to have weapons.

I hear ya. It's very annoying to read this over and over again.

Once and for all: Between 1933 and 1945 Germany did NOT ban German citizens from buying or owning firearms. Only non-Germans (mostly Jews, who stated they were at war with Germany) were not allowed to buy and own firearms.

Even if Honda’s bill does not make it into law, it is already against the law for criminals to add body armor to their toolkit. Since 2002, it has been illegal under federal law for convicted felons to possess body armor of any sort. This has been prosecuted in U.S. courts even in states that do not criminalize the possession of body armor.

When I was looking into foreclosures from 08-12 I looked at who owned and bought these properties.

Most in black towns were owned by Jews. The section 8 thing inflates rentals in the ghetto.

Its a false rental value because the government pays the landlord.

I think the tenant pays a small portion but even if they don't pay it's still higher than

what the market rate is. What I found is investor groups like former execs from Chase Bank were

buying foreclosures in huge numbers paying all cash. I wanted to buy this house and they bid against me,

but later the selling price on an "as is " property closed for less than my all cash bid. Because they are the big

customer so everyone else was batted away.

I called this Jew who was with BofA in Chicago and confronted him on the destroying of entire neighborhoods  and he said

"how did you get my number?" I said "the internet!!"

and he tried to absolve himself of wrong doing.

It was my finest hour. lol

Another house I bid on was sold by WAMU and it was the same story. So I wrote to the CEO about what happened and how it was sold for less to some guy in Malibu CA. He wrote me back and admitted that it was  a funky deal. I forwarded this message to local realtors and they spread it like wildfire,  because they were not able to present offers on these houses and I gave them the proof of why.

And the property values continued to drop because greed was too greedy and they could not wait for the real bottom.

I am a bitch and a researching bitch that will fuck you up and expose your lies any day of the week!

Fear me.

The Mothe3r F(_)ckers.  If we don't vote every.goddamn.incumbent out we are screwed!  I want to see the list of every.single.son of a bitch.that voted for this crap.

Someone should take the exact verbiage of the law and propose another law.  Only instead of it being illegal to buy/sell this type of garment, word it that it is illegal to propose any such legislation that would so severely limit and infringe upon life, liberty, pursuit of happiness, 2nd amendment, etc.

To that end, I like the 'shall be fined under this title, imprisoned not more than 10 years, or both.' part. Probably should read 'not LESS than 10 years' though.

On second thought, maybe we should be thanking these legislators.  Because hopefully it won't pass, and even if it does, then all of us now know the exact standard baseline that our enemy-government is thinking:

Type III armor, determined using National Institute of Justice Standard-0101.06.''

So something at LEAST this strong would be what you rush out to buy.  Or be able to claim it by the go-live date of the law.

Tell me again why laws matter when they are continually broken by the Feds anyway....

Whether or not this new proposal becomes law and it becomes illegal to buy/sell/own body armour is missing the wider point.

It is all about the government and its lackies in Congress having a strategic plan to disarm and neutralise society to the point that it's defenceless against criminal government and its increasingly heavily armed, militarised LE thugs. It's about reducing the population to the level of helpless, obedient muppets who will simply do as they're ordered.

I'm not aware of any country that has banned private ownership of weapons who has done it for altruistic motives. It's always to protect government from the very people it purports to represent.

By linking the ban on the civil population to own and carry firearms with totalitarian systems (and ignore all other perfectly sane societies - well, as perfect as they come at least) the author does only one thing: he demonstrates himself to be a totalitarian.

Apart from that, I must agree that allowing firearms in your population but banning bodyarrmour doesn't make any sense. Remember: Bodyarmour does not kill, people do ...
