Stunning Footage Of Israeli Strike Leveling 12-Story Gaza Building
Late on Saturday afternoon, supposedly in retaliation for yet another round of shelling by Hamas now that the X+1 "ceasefire" has failed to lead to anything tangible, Israel bombed an apartment tower in Gaza City, collapsing the 12-story building with 44 apartments. The dramatic strike is shown in the blip below. Amazingly, while dozens were wounded in the strike, no one was killed, Palestinian officials said.
The targeting of large buildings appears to be part of a new military tactic by Israel. Over the weekend, the army began warning Gaza residents in automated phone calls that it would target buildings harboring "terrorist infrastructure" and that they should stay away.
A senior military official confirmed that Israel has a policy of striking at buildings containing Hamas operational centers or those from which military activities are launched. The official said each strike required prior approval from military lawyers and is carried out only after the local population is warned.
However, he said, there was now a widening of locations that the military can target. The official spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not permitted to discuss the matter with reporters.
In the 12-story apartment tower, the target was a fourth-floor apartment where Hamas ran an operations center, according to Israeli media. In the past, Israel has carried out pinpoint strikes, targeting apartments in high-rises with missiles, while leaving the buildings standing. However, this time a decision was made to bring down the entire tower, according to Channel 10, an Israeli TV station.
The military declined immediate comment when asked why it collapsed the entire building instead of striking a specific apartment.
Meanwhile, Gaza militants continued to fire rockets and mortar shells at Israel, including at least 10 on Sunday, the military said. That was in addition to more than 100 on Saturday, most aimed at southern Israel.
So with that, and all the other geopolitical flare ups over the weekend, we look forward to the futures opening some 5 to 10 points higher in a few hours on all the "pent up de-escalation" from the past 48 hours.

You do know, that just last fall we (U.S.) were going to help ISIS in attacking Assad? And this was to protect American interests, we were warned of the risk and the American people said NO. Now we are being told we need to attack ISIS thereby supporting Assad because we need to protect American interests, and the risk to American people which is now higher than ever before.
ISIS is supposedly going to bomb Chicago, yet we live in a spy state where all email, all phone conversations are intercepted by the NSA. How will ISIS carry out this sophisticated attack in Chicago if we do not let them?
The point I am getting at, is ISIS is no immediate threat to the US, just as Assad wasn't a threat last fall. What is more likely is that Israel feels threatened by ISIS because they have pissed off nearly every country in the world and their thug hasn't been making them feel warm and cozy lately. Now if Israel needs our help (and it appears they definitely are handling themselves) then I support helping them if and when ISIS threatens them. If you look carefully, the viewpoint just before the explosion at the beginning is different from the viewpoint at 0:29 seconds (the light bub string doesn't line up. In other words two individuals were ready for the explosion filming from slightly different positions. The other observation is that both explosions occur either in front of the building or at its lowest level. This is a controlled demolition and not an Israeli strike. I wonder where in the world it occurred?

On Friday night, the ABC News program 20/20 broadcast "The White Van," which told the story of 5 young Israeli men apprehended in New Jersey hours after the World Trade Center was hit. They had been observed on 9/11 watching the burning of the World Trade Center from their vantage point in Liberty State Park, New Jersey, photographing each other as they rejoiced against the backdrop of the WTC aflame in the distance. Writing on March 15, I envisioned the scene, described in news stories and conjured in my mind's eye:
"As smoke billowed up into the pellucid sky, obscuring the sun, they laughed and joked and took pictures of each other against a backdrop of unspeakable horror. Outraged witnesses called the cops, who swooped down and picked them up. These Middle Eastern-looking men,' as witnesses described them, turned out to be Israelis: they were found with box cutters in their van, $4,000 in cash, and multiple passports. The van was registered as the property of 'Urban Moving Systems.' Police interrogated them for hours, and transferred them to a maximum security facility. A raid on the Urban Moving Systems warehouse (whose owner, Dominik Suter, has since fled to Israel) yielded computers, documents, and other evidence – of what?"
That's why a shiver of deja-vu passed through me as I watched the 20/20 news report. Listening to the New Jersey housewife who spotted the cheering Israelis from her highrise apartment, watching the baffled look on her face as she described the young Israelis:
"They were like happy, you know … They didn't look shocked to me. I thought it was very strange,"

And as far as protection of children goes, maybe you could compare the success of the two sides (it was in all the papers, the children of Gaza are being slaughtered, butchered, blown apart and the children of Israel are holding hands and singing a delightful ditty on how the children of Gaza don’t go to school because they are in the graveyard).
Who are you that you would attempt to believe that this is somehow a war between two armies?
