I've been to a lot of countries where everyday life is comparable or better than USA, and USA is getting a lot worse every year especially under Obama's surveillance state. Military thug police & huge numbers of jailed citizens is a pretty good indication of what our society has become.
Under Pres Obama, crooked bankers weren't jailed, and the NSA wasn't reigned in. As a result, people around the world are distancing themselves from US technology and finance, the two areas we had an advantage.

Might be an infectious disease making it's way across the country.
Might be a first strike attack, an emp, an attack on key power grid relay stations.
Might be a terrorist attack at in malls, schools with conventional weapons or a dirty bomb.
Any way you look at we're on borrowed time and 72 hrs away from a complete melt down and total chaos and carnage in the streets given the right circumstances.

It sucks. It's not the world I expected or wanted...yet here we are.

Not that any of us can prepare for any and all that might come our way.
Extra food, extra water, extra shells, warm clothing...all go a long way to ease a bit of the worry and pressure.
Doesn't matter if you have a closet or spare room or a full bunker, it's not going to be pretty or easy when it hits for real.
