Merkel Slams US Hegemony? "America Can't Solve All The World's Problems Anymore"

Tyler Durden's picture

First Russia and China, then UAE, Egypt, and Turkey... and now it appears Germany (following a phone call with Putin) is pulling the rug out from under US hegemony - just as Obama's warmongery ramps up...

Which is odd because just yesterday, President Obama (who never lies) stated "The United States is and will remain the one indispensable nation in the world..." adding that "no other nation can do what we do." Perhaps he is wrong?

“Even a superpower can’t solve all of the problems alone anymore,” German Chancellor Angela Merkel says.

Merkel did not stop there...

Seems like she is returning to the offensive from the defensive...

Precisely.  Tune out the things he says that aren't related to finance/PMs but focus on his track record in those areas.  He's been 100% spot on for years.  Go back and look at his archives, and see that he was writing 2, 3, 4, years ago about things that are happening today.

101 years and counting's picture

stupid bitch. if the US wasnt printing money and buying all your continent's junk debt (shhhhh, we're not supposed to know this), your depression would be much worse.

Canadian Dirtlump's picture

the Western ( not wester *wink* ) bankers engineered the calamity that is the EU so yeah..

JRobby's picture

And the news portion of this "statement"?????

schadenfreude's picture

Stupid idiot. Let the fucking monetary system collapse and afterwards we'll find out out which country offers something valuable to trade. Facebook, Google, Apple and Mc Donalds have no intrinsic value.

palmereldritch's picture

Facebook, Google, Apple and Mc Donalds have no intrinsic value.

You didn't think it would be somaTM brand soma did you?

Dublinmick's picture

No the printing of fiat money is ordered from London where Rothschild families own the non federal federal reserve and also supervises the printing of German money. Orders come down from the top of the pyramid which is the vatican. This beliefs in sovereignty are almost child like.

Canadian Dirtlump's picture

Amen twin turbo timmy. You are seeing these glitches in the matrix more and more. We listen to Jim Willie hysterically talk about germany switching sides, and so they should.. The conspiracies we would think about and talk about in private, much to even often our own surprise are playing out which has one nervously looking around their office and saying "I figured I was right but holy fuck I'm right."

Weeks? Months? Who knows. Years? I doubt it. The days of buying PMS and a generator, and some food, and a water bob, and a water filter were sort of fun. Getting to the point where they are going to be used? Less fun - but that was never the point I guess.

The threat of military violence is what has held this together all along and a war is a great way to get a scapegoat to blame the collapse on.

NOTaREALmerican's picture

I'm not sure why you need all "the stuff" if there's going to be a war tho.

War will cause all the dumbass males to "gather round the (slow-motion) flag" and march-off to meet the enemy (meaning away from you).    You won't need any of "your stuff".

espirit's picture

Better check the Wiki def of self assured destruction.

It's a No-Win for everyone.  Maybe they'll find our final history written in the Space Station.

Edit: Orbit to degrade and re-enter.  Maybe the next most intelligent species will dig up in 500 Million years, give or take.

Canadian Dirtlump's picture

I'm prepared for a month or 2. Not for a mad max scenario. That type of planning is prudent.

espirit's picture

Have a plan for 6 months, basic survival instinct.

If you're still alive then, we'll talk.

MalteseFalcon's picture

I just screened 'Mad Max' so I'm ready.  Shotgun shells, gasoline and dog food.

jfoles's picture

what type dog food do you like...  iams or science diet?   high protein...  flavor??

centerline's picture

ha ha.  All I can think of here is lots of #10 cans of brown gravy mix... with which - go for the protein.  ha ha

Dublinmick's picture

You can eat grass, cows thrive on it.

centerline's picture

Agree.  Never hurts to be a boy scout.

You need to plan exactly the way that average people planned two generations ago, a century ago, a millenium ago, and ten millenia ago.

You need to plan to get from the date of the disaster, through the winter, and on to the next harvest.

Don't believe what Merkel says. (s)He is just another b.tch who likes to be pounded by Obummer & Co.

Which country has military bases in Germany?

PartysOver's picture

"Which country has military bases in Germany?"   With the current trend the Q might be "Which country HAD  military bases in Germany?"

Is Merkel wanting some of that Obama Biatch Slap action?

Sandmann's picture

Without Germany the US is peripheral to world affairs which is why it is trying to destroy Russia. Mackinder Plan

schadenfreude's picture

Do you have a source for a Mackinder Plan?

tonyw's picture

Which is the only country that has military bases in more than a handful of countries.

there fixed it for ya :-)

SumTing Wong's picture

And which country is going to take back those bases as the country fails to hand over the gold to that one?

Shit, even I'm confusing myself by writing this.

ALERT -For The First Time Ever In American History, A Foreign Commander has been placed in charge of American forces

A German Army brigadier general who recently served with NATO forces in Afghanistan is assuming duties as the chief of staff of U. S. Army Europe, the first time a non-American officer has held that position.

Army sources in Europe said the first-ever assignment of a German general to the USAREUR staff is unrelated to the political furor over the spying revelations, but does reflect the increased importance of multinational operations in NATO.

Brig. Gen. Markus Laubenthal, most recently the commander of Germany’s 12th Panzer Brigade in Amberg, and chief of staff of Regional Command North, International Security Assistance Force Afghanistan, will be stationed at USAREUR headquarters, Wiesbaden, Germany. He could report to duty as early as Monday.

Laubenthal also has served as military assistant to the deputy commander of operations and assistant chief of staff of operations for NATO forces in Kosovo. …

JohninMK's picture

That's only a one star general, yawn.

Freddie's picture

Not totally true.   The USA's nuclear weapons are commanded and controlled by a dual citizen.

Winter is coming.

Must have been the first 5 degree celsius night in Berlin since April.

Raymond K Hessel's picture

5 degree celsius?

Is that like fifth degree black belt or tenth degree Mason?

What the fuck is a celsius?!

Al Huxley's picture

That's the same as about 45 in American.

Raymond K Hessel's picture

Even though it's called British Standard, I do agree with the sentiment that's American.

Fuck the metric system.

Fuck the metric system in its perfumed asshole!!!

ThirdWorldDude's picture

"In metric, one millilier of water occupies one cubic centimeter, weighs one gram, and requires one calorie of energy to heat up by one degree centigrade - which is one percent of the difference between its freezing point and its boiling point. An amount of hydrogen weighing the same amount has exactly one mole of atoms in it.

Whereas in the American system, the answer to 'How much energy does it take to boil a room-temperature gallon of water?' is 'Go fuck yourself!' because you can't directly relate any of those quantities..."

an excerpt from "Wild Thing: A Novel"

ThirdWorldDude's picture

Raymond, you're fuckin' exceptional!

espirit's picture

About the same in Minot.

Wake up call at 3am, ready or not!

gallistic's picture

It is a unit of measure used by everyone in the world, except the "exceptional" people.

PhilofOz's picture

Well the exceptionals do have two friends on the planet that are also a bit slow to convert to the metric system, Liberia and Burma. Do they think the average IQ of the zombies there is too low to be ever able to change over?

JRobby's picture

It is the bait used in an imbecile trap...............

What most Americans do not realize is that much of Europe is pretty far north compared to America.

Northern Italy is about where north Florida or GA is.  I would guess Berlin is about where NH is.

'America makes most of the world's problems"

espirit's picture

We make Freedum Fiat don't we?

Worked for awhile anyway, until it didn't.

auntiesocial's picture

so many things I could say. I much as I despise Bush & friends enriching themselves and handing Obama a shit sandwich, he has had ample time to turn things around. Instead he is spending our way into hell, double the national debt and forcing poor people to pay a 1000.00 + kicker to not enrich the health insurance industry on our taxes.

insert hope and change jokes here.

luckystars's picture

America can't solve it's own problems.

Lynn Trainor's picture

We used to help solve a lot of the world's problems, but now we are often the problem.

Memedada's picture

Name one problem '"you" used to solve'?

And no, WWII was not 'solved' by US, but rather co-created (the Bush-family actually played a small role in this) the Nazis and the state-capitalists (Stalin).

Bloppy's picture

Obama-supporting journalist on gun range instructor death: ‘Is the 9yo going to the funeral of the guy she killed?’

Memedada's picture

True, solving problems doesn’t make fiat (and for sure not money) in our contemporary economic system. Creating them – especially the big ones (Wars being a good example) on the other hand make a lot of fiat (for the oligarchs).
