Is This Why Obama Is Rushing To This Week's NATO Summit?
As is well-known, tomorrow, September 4, a NATO summit begins in Wales to discuss and coordinate the western response to ongoing "Russian intervention" in Ukraine (not to be confused by US intervention in Ukraine meant to remove an standing, democratically-elected president), a summit for which Barack Obama has demonstrated impressive enthusiasm following his blitz tour of Europe, a continent reeling on the edge of a recessionary abyss courtesy of the "costs" Obama has imposed on Germany Russia in the aftermath of the Victoria Nuland-instituted local Kiev government.
Perhaps it has something to do with this...
That's right: the NATO summit is set to take place at the magnificent Celtic Manor Resort, the location of the 2010 Ryder Cup.
But not only that: courtesy of an unprecedented security presence, it means that Obama will have no problem sneaking in at least 4 games for the two-day duration of the summit.

A huge security operation involving 9,000 British police officers will secure a luxury Welsh golf resort hosting a NATO summit later this week, officials said Tuesday.
Officers deployed across the golf course at the Celtic Manor Resort, in Newport, and along a 13-kilometre (eight-mile) steel fence around the site in anticipation of the arrival of 67 world leaders for crisis talks on Russia's role in the war in Ukraine.
US President Barack Obama is attending the meeting of the military alliance and security is tight, not least because Britain last week raised its terrorism threat level.
Overall, about 20 kilometres of security fencing has been erected around key venues in Newport and Cardiff, patrolled by squads of police on motorbikes as well as helicopters flying overhead. Police officers also fanned across the hotel's golf course, where hosted the 2010 Ryder Cup.
In a symbolic show of military strength, six warships will be anchored during the summit in Cardiff Bay, from Britain, France, Latvia, Lithuania, the Netherlands and Norway.

However, when you have unlimited access to OPM, it's EZ to fly off to Bali, Toyko, London, Geneva or .... [fill in any overpriced ultra-expensive city/location] to hold a 'meeting.' I have never seen a meeting of politicians in Little Rock, El Paso, Tulsa, etc.

Does ANYONE know how MUCH MONEY this "NATO summit" will cost?
I read several days ago (in the Telegraph.co.uk) that the fence and security "entrances" alone cost well over $200 million USD (which will be COMPLETELY CLOSED to all people working or living in the affected Cardiff and Newport areas for 2 days). Cardiff is over 18 miles from the Celtic Manor Resort; and the Celtic Manor Resort is across the Usk River from Newport center, a full 4 miles away.
The Celtic Manor Resort area is mostly fields and dense woods with only 4 roads leading into that area. And the Celtic Manor Resort proper has only 2 roads that actually go to the resort - actually it is ONE road that has approaches from the north and from the south.
PLus six warships will be anchored during the summit in Cardiff Bay: from Britain, France, Latvia, Lithuania, the Netherlands and Norway.
WHAT DO THEY EXPECT? An invasion by Iceland?
The REAL question is how to be a vendor to this thing. You can charge anything you want and they're rob someone to pay any price for that ticket item.

Sweden, together with a couple of other countries are during the conference in Wales rumored to get a new staus in their relations to Nato. Together with Finland, Georgia, Australia and Jordan, Sweden are titled countries with "enhanced opportunities for cooperation". Nato are using the fear of Russia to tie more countries to the alliance. This will mean that the "neutral" country Sweden will allow American soldiers to train on Swedish soil. This is a backdoor to joining Nato. More fear is added today when the normally dead silent swedish secret police SÄPO went public with having stopped two terrorist attacks. They also mention that the biggest threat are violent islamists returning from wars like in Syria.
I believe that swedish lobbyists are installing fear into the Swedish population by constant reporting on ISIS and "Russian expansion". People are worried because we have spent less and less on defence during the past decades. And now, just before the election, politicians sign the papers enabeling deeper relations with NATO. This will make Sweden a half member. A being told what to do-member in future conflicts.
I wouldn't be surprised if the same was true in the other countries.
Obama needs to get Europe back solidly on the path to war. Many of the countries of Europe have come to see that Putin holds all the cards, this will become more obvious as winter nears and events unfold. It seems both Russia and many of the separatist in Eastern Ukraine would support federalization. Surely, no reason exist for Kiev to be opposed other than a loss of power.
A more federalized government is also the most plausible way of keeping Ukraine intact. Support for sanctions is mixed in Europe as some countries fear Russia and have an ax to grind with Putin while others wish to move forward. Saber rattling has only lead to death and destruction. As I see it little good will come from further bloodshed and it is time for the West to stop sending money to Kiev so they can ramp up the violence and continue the civil war.
