Needless to say, if readers spot one of these flying casually in the skies overhead, running fast may be a good strategy...

imo the usual explanation is probably closer to the fact that most drone targets are actually civilian in nature, and there usually isn't a MANPAD or 'militia' in site. I mean, like 99% of the time. They're just killing civilians. We all know how the 'intel' is gathered - grudges, narc-ing, made-up info gained from torture...
Hell, I wouldn't put it past them to bomb an area just to level the ground, or to remove villages from a important area (say, where a pipeline or oil well is proposed).

An aircraft chartered by coalition forces in Afghanistan, en route from Bagram air base to Dubai, landed Friday in Bandar Abbas, Iran, after Iranian officials questioned its flight plan, U.S. officials said.
The plane had been contacted by Iranian air traffic controllers, who instructed it to return to Afghanistan and file the correct plan. When the pilots informed the Iranians they did not have enough fuel to return to Bagram, they were asked to land.
One official said Iranian fighter jets had escorted the plane, which was carrying approximately 100 Americans and possibly a pair of Canadians, to the ground. Other officials denied that, and said the plane landed on its own. It was expected to resume its flight quickly.

Egypt is ever more desperate to deal with its internal chaos, Syria is for all practical purposes no longer a nation state, Iraq, Libya, Lebanon the same, and the gulf states must exert maximum resources just to survive the Islamist movement. Jordan's monarchy is the most in peril short term.
Since the consensus is that ISIS is a Zionist plot, all the very weakened Arab states, and subsequently Iran, are facing a growing ravenous insanity that will likely destroy any pan Arab nationalism that could and had for 60 years exercised some measure of political unity vis a vis Europe, the US, and Mog. An interceden (sp) barbarism will set back the Arabs for a generation. These declining nations will be less and less inclined to care about their proxy creations, and in fact will and are beginning to recognize the monster that they've created.
Without Israel as a counter balance to the Arab world (playing one side against the other), Europe's culture will continue to decline as immigration by the Muslims will continue to rise. Turkey will finally force membership into the EU. Muslim immigration into the heart of the EU will explode exponentially. EU membership specifically codifies the free unfettered movement of its population from nation to nation. Europe, as a Western culture becomes a minority, and for all practical purposes ceases to exist. You may think that an Islamized Europe empowers the EU to grow Islam's international influence, but in fact it will result in shattering the EU, and the respective nations being nibbled to death by Muslim immigration will also inwardly fracture, showing less and less ability to influence international issues.
Next, never forget just how much the Arabs and Persians have cooperated with Israel for decades, but publicly using Israel as a whipping post much like the DemPervs in the US use the specter of white/gop/Christian racism to marshal their herd for the maintenance and enhancement of their political power. Even the butchers Arafat and Abbas have closely cooperated with the Jews when it suited their own political interests.
The wild card is the US. It may yet awaken and exercise the appropriate measures to 'reform' its socialist institutions and their supporters.
An Islamized Europe could also become the core of a new Caliphate. If this happens, we could see a third attempt by a European army to conquer Russia. Israel would be unlikely to survive the EU becoming Islamic.
Alternatively, the EU could pull together and force the Muslims out. The EU is sinking economically, and Europeans resent the competition for jobs and Muslim uppityness. As the European Muslims become increasingly aggressive, the Europeans might at some point just say Enough - and force them all back to some middle east hellhole.
If Israel wanted to unleash the full barbarity of modern war, they could wipe Hezbollah in a few weeks - without using any nukes. A masive bombardment by fuel-air bombs (thermobarics) would make mincemeat of the Hezbos. Their tunnels would not protect the Hezbos either. That is the beauty of thermobarics, as they can push massive blast waves into tunnels, as well as suck the air right out of them.
Russia used thermobarics when it levelled Grozny. Israel is filled with liberal Jews who show "restraint".If Israel gets pissed off enough, they could deal with their immediate neighbors very quickly.
Actually, Islamic eschatology agrees with you - Israel with expand to the Nile on the west and the Euphrates on its east. This occurs, according to "prophecy," after the Armageddon; doesn't take too much of a stretch to point out the sparring partners. It will usher in a new era, after Pax Britannica and Americana. What Israel does with its newfound power is not exactly clear, of course, but most resources agree that most Arabs do not fare so well. Rather sobering, really..... would like to put it off until the kids finish college, etc.
I'm not, NOT saying that I wish for any of this to come to pass. I think too many posters here refuse to consider all the angles, because of their most obvious, all consuming hatred of the Jewish People, who are desparate to just be left alone.
Does it really matter if the name is the Rothschilds or the Rockefellers (Christian) operating the central banks, they have no connection or even an affinity for the most part to the Jewish common man's struggle to survive.
It's been made clear many many times, so for the record: no beef with 'jewish people', but not OK with Zionist political purposes, butchery, brutality, self declared superiority and racist denigration of anyone not Jewish. There are many 'players' in the Zionist team who are not of Jewish blood. And there are many of Jewish blood who will also be sacrificed for the plans of the 1% of the 1% of the 1% (guesstimate).
I wish that the Jewish People would also be 'left alone' in their 'common man's struggle to survive' (if that's what they want) but their Talmudic Rabbis don't benefit from that, and nor do the Zionists...self-imposed isolationism serves not only their purpose, but their racism. Is it the Zionists or the IDF of the Israeli people commiting war crimes in Gaza, and what percentage of 'Jewish common men' (and women) are condemming it?
