Why Worry? The Two Scariest Charts In The World

Tyler Durden's picture

Submitted by Erico Matia Tavares via Sinclar & Co,

There are plenty of things to worry about these days. A cursory look through today’s (13 Sep 14) drudgereport.com sets the tone: the Pope says WWIII is underway; a senior Democrat accuses the Republicans of endangering civilization; drones are invading the privacy of citizens; militias are blocking traffic in the Mexican border; Feds run a US$589 billion budget deficit; the UK might fall apart; the Ebola epidemic is getting serious in Africa; a mystery virus spreads to NY and CT (and we could not resist adding this one: Hillary Clinton is doing yoga).

With all of this in our minds it is easy to forget, or at least put in proper context, the extraordinary progress that mankind has achieved over the centuries against remarkable odds. World population has steadily increased, proving Malthus wrong. Serious diseases like polio and smallpox, which affected even monarchs and presidents over the centuries, have been eradicated. We can crisscross the planet in less than 24 hours and put satellites in deep space. The baby boomers and their offspring are the most prosperous generations the world has ever seen.

This shows that with enough intelligence, political will, common sense and perseverance most challenges we face as a species can be overcome. This should provide a decent amount of hope that we can tackle whatever we are facing right now.

So why worry?

Well, what will happen if we start losing those qualities and values as a global society? Which is why we believe that the following graphs are the scariest in the world today:

WORLD IQ LEVEL OVER TIME

Source: MailOnline, University of Hartford.

INDEX OF MILITARY EXPENDITURES OVER TIME (1950 = 100)(a)

Source: SIPRI.

(a) Based on NATO expenditures (in 2011 constant US$), the longest data series publicly available.

The average world citizen is getting dumber while our means of doing harm are increasing. This trend is clearly not our friend.

Consider the following.

Countries around the world today spend over US$1.7 trillion on weaponry - more than the total global investment in energy supply. Beyond the manufacturers and suppliers downstream, this produces zero economic benefits (weapons become obsolete very quickly and do not generate any returns; on the contrary as, well, they blow stuff up) and the associated costs add to already bloated government debt levels. And that’s US$1.7 trillion less available each year to improve world education, food and fuel availability, the environment and shifting global demographics, all critical issues of the 21st century.

Also concerning is the fact that control over these weapons can be quickly lost, creating the prospect of blowbacks, never ending conflicts and major tragedies.

Prior to 1991, the Soviet Union had more than 27,000 nuclear warheads and plenty of weapons-grade uranium and plutonium to triple that number. While there have been no confirmed reports of missing or stolen former-Soviet nuclear weapons (astonishing given all the political and economic turmoil since then), there is ample evidence of a significant black market in nuclear materials. How long before someone in that rapidly expanding pool of idiots gets a hold of some is anybody’s guess.

Note: accidents can happen as well, adding to the unease of handling this type of firepower. For instance, in 1961, a B-52 carrying two nuclear bombs broke up in mid-air, dropping its nuclear payload very close to Goldsboro in North Carolina. Five of the six fuses designed to prevent a detonation failed in one of the bombs, with only the last one averting a nuclear explosion. That was an unbelievable close call.

And now turmoil is spreading across the Middle East yet again. With all the conflict going on, anyone showing up and volunteering to fight for one of the sides will be given free food and weapons, courtesy of the associated regional and international powers. Will those weapons stay there, concerning as that might already be for local populations, or will they be used elsewhere, even if the conflict is contained or resolved? As we all know fundamentalists – probably the most idiotic of the bunch – are ready to do anything.

Humanity cannot risk its future falling into the hands of increasingly lethal buffoons. The stakes are just too high now. Hopefully our leaders are paying attention, but this should concern us all. Let’s try to be smart about it – while the smart is still going.

I was never a fan of the IQ test. It was developed originally to determine whether someone was fit for military service. Over the years it progressed into a broad measure of intelligence.

With thinking machines entering every aspect of existence and substituting human activities, I don't think IQ type intelligence is going to be relevant. Morality and judgement will be vital to the development and preservation of civilized society. Unfortunately, things that should be taught in schools - like the concept of power, corruption, financial manipulation, are avoided. People are dumbed down on purpose. IQ could've been going down with the quality of life improving, but instead it correlates with the overall moral degradation.

Reasons for the recessions, reasons for war are never explained, so people are forced to draw faulty conclusions about the world. They're forced to rationalize injustice and abuse, because the academic model says it's all fair. If you don't see something the way "they" want you to see it, you're labelled a crackpot - you're isolated, restrained and medicated.

Humanity's speed is about a level of a neolithic fishing village .

And when the surplus males get bored , they go and bash a few heads .

Humans aren't becoming more stupid , just more bored .

The smart ones keep on making better weapons .

Then "Boom" , back to that old Neolithic fishing village .

Underdeveloped countries ( and communities ) with underdeveloped education are also the seat of the highest birth rates? This would not support that people are becoming dumber. To the contrary, there are just more people with less education available to them.

Using a world wide statistical average makes us dumber.

I look at it like this. We rolled the dice and lucked-out with the cold war. We might have less nukes today, ahem as in the u.s....probably not really the case in Russia, but we still have too many. Now, barry the potus can  continue to 1. provoke Russia and 2. dismantle the remainder of our nukes. Hand to face. Which is really really bright cause either that will lead to thermonuclear war or just the Russians having ICBMs. SLBMs, tactical nukes and nuclear bombers...which means we'll never fight them, and that also means no one else will, save the Chinese. Methinks Idiocracy is already here, at least in the west.

You wrote, “Hopefully our leaders are paying attention…”.

Uh, “our leaders” are the ones that produced this society that requires the cannibalization of following generations to the end of time.  This is what facts, assumptions and formulas (provided by financial reports of the US government) tell us.

I humbly suggest that those who perpetrate evil will not punish themselves for it; that it is time to duplicate what American Founders did.  Problem is that there’s hardly an American who understands how they carried off their Revolution.  They don’t even know ideals Founders won.  For example, who knows that Americans have a constitutionally-protected right to withhold taxes until the government redresses their grievances.  This right was clearly declared by Founders; bus, as noted, who knows it?

The #1 problem with America is this: Many people with lots of money truly believe the money is God's way of telling them they are doing things right.  So, if they got their money by fuckiing over other people they believe God is OK with that..........cause He gave them the money.

Bullpucky. The vast majority of them do not believe in 'god'. They believe THEY are gods.  Plural.  And gifted with the keys to their own domains.

Not scary at all, and any one of us so fortunate as to be one of them would behave in precisely the same way.

And a huge percentage of them are Jews all out of whack to their numbers in the world population. Which then leads to Conspiracy.

Why have there been:

1) 100% Jewish FED chairmen in the last 40 yrs?

2) Why is Gensler at the CFTC?

3) Strauss-Kahn on the International scene??

4) Geithner at Treasury?

5) Lew now at Treasury?

It's not scary.  It's a monopoly by one ethnic group that if it were Sicilians, Irish, Scot, German, or Orientals in all those places, and more, the media would be screaming that a hijacking has taken place and demanding that Corleone, DeLuca, and Gotti resign.

for those still not famaliar, chart 1 is not an unfortunate and unintended consequence. this was a bought and paid for outcome

Frederick Gates, Director of Rockefeller Foundation and power behind compusory public education:

"In our dreams, people yield themselves with perfect docility to our molding hands. The present education conventions of intellectual and character education fade from their minds, and, unhampered by tradition, we work our own good will upon a grateful and responsive folk.
We shall not try to make these people, or any of their children, into philosophers, or men of science. We have not to raise up from them authors, educators, poets or men of letters. We shall not search for great artists, painters, musicians nor lawyers, doctors, preachers, politicians, statesmen -- of whom we have an ample supply.
The task is simple. We will organize children and teach them in a perfect way the things their fathers and mothers are doing in an imperfect way."

the article suggests those in charge of nukes may be in the declining IQ cohort.

and treats the instability in the Middle East like its some natural phenomena.

Both are very likely in the hands of highly intelligent people and this goes for black market dealings of parts/pieces for one to make their very own little nuke.  In fact, its probably the highest of IQs recruited for such an endeavor.

I'm sure IQ's may be measurably lower as these things go, but I doubt intelligence has actually declined.  What's more likely the biggest factor in reduced IQ's is distraction and stress among the tested.

This trend is no surprise and is to be expected.

Here's why: The simple explanation is that for the past 75 years we've been paying (welfare, food stamps, cash handouts, etc ...) the lowest IQ people to have more and more children. If we wanted to raise the IQ society would've paid the highest IQ people to have more and more children. But reducing IQ was the goal and we're well on the road to a cognitive collision course with the apes.

Read the article again. Carefully this time.

I didn't create the chart nor did I author the article. Nor did I infer my IQ, unlike how you have so clearly done regarding the obviously reduced level of yours.

The chart revealing steadily lowering IQ is from the University of Hartford. It's a well-respected university located in West Hartford, Connecticut, USA.

How smart was it for the the High IQers to rerfraim from breeding and to subsidize the Low Iqers to breed? Perhaps the inability to forsee the consequences of the welfare/warfare state mentality is revealing of a much lower IQ for the University of Hartford grad students who produced this ridiculous thesis.

Here's a few quotes for you to contemplate before searching for scapegoats:

“The search for a scapegoat is the easiest of all hunting expeditions.”
? Dwight D. Eisenhower

“All violence is the result of people tricking themselves into believing that their pain derives from other people and that consequently those people deserve to be punished.”
? Marshall B. Rosenberg, Nonviolent Communication: A Language of Life

“If you think everything is someone else's fault, you'd be wrong. If you think everything is your fault, you're also wrong. Assigning blame can keep you stuck in the problem. Move on to solutions.”
? Sue Fitzmaurice

" WORLD IQ LEVEL DIMINISHING OVER TIME "

And technology GROWING over time..

Correlation ?

" We can crisscross the planet in less than 24 hours and put satellites in deep space. "

And we've also been put on faster and faster motorised wheelchairs -- while human body is slower and slower, as the mind, and the technology is faster and faster -- like the .. technology.

Correlation?

"The baby boomers and their offspring are the most prosperous generations the world has ever seen."

And the most obese. And the most gullible.

Thanks to prosperous technology, we're becoming physically slower, less intelligent, and more and more fond of what makes us slower, less intelligent, more obese ..

I think that article invokes a crucial cause of the decadence of human beings in order to suggest that the same cause and its consequences, if maintained, gives us hope of best things to come.

I think that article has been written by a voltarian Pangloss, Candide's paranoid happy head preceptor. But I'm no Candide..

when all is said and done all will be said and done.  Dumber than a box of rocks.  have you ever shot a sling shot.  Rocks have meaning in the right hands.  Ever skin a squirrel?  Go frog gigging?  Spear salmon without the game warden finding you?  Maybe time to learn some skills.  Funny isn't it.  Talk all you want about hillbillies.  They wont be the ones going hungry.  Neither will I.  America has been dissappearing in front of our eyes really since around 1964-68.  wonder what those dates represent?  Are those date talked about in high school history and their significance in American history?  Doubt it.  Oh well,,,   I have some handguns to clean before bedtime,,, night all.

Isn't it obvious that if the US abolished the Dept of Education that IQ's would go up and the deficit go down?

Did you hear of the Obama's Dept of Education admin official that resigned and went to work for the Hollande admin in Paris ? The IQ of both administrations went up.

The good news. The US IQ level is still rising (from 83.5 in 1950 to 85 in 2100). The bad news: That ist still much below world average.

i suggest you read steven pinkers "the better angels of our nature. why violence has declined"
gives great insight into lot of things concerning violence. but he doesnt know too if we go into wwIII ...
he says btw, based on studies, we got smarter.

kind of additional reading: "supercooperators" from nowak.
when, why and how do cooperators or defectors win...

cause i ask myself: so many smart people in this world, we could do better, much better.and i think we will, cause good stuff lasts longer than bad stuff. cause bad stuff eats itself up. but might take a few generations more and a wwIII:(

It is important to emphasize just how little most people know about the world and to make the point about how important real knowledge is. In our modern world we are constantly assaulted with so much data, information and noise that it is often hard to stay focused. How people live their lives and the quality of those lives is important in defining our existence and society.

With all the debate about gay marriage, gun control, funding pre-k, and such we should put high on our agenda the goal of crafting a better, smarter, and overall improved society. Programs to promote and teach better parenting should be considered and made a focal point of in this endeavor. More on this subject in the article below.

There have been 24 global studies showing that fluoridating water produces lower IQ in children.  Yet Americans continue to fluoridate their water as mostly the rest of the world doesn't.

Vaccines contain toxic  mercury, aluminum, MSG neurotoxin and formaldehyde embalming fluid and that's before we discuss the toxic infectious agent that produces a brush fire in the brain for life according to neurosurgeon Dr Russell Blaylock.  Yet Americans welcome the jab as if it's the greatest medicine ever that's keeping them alive when just the opposite is true.

See Elite's Poisoning Agenda
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fB3xcN_eoPo

GMO food produces tumors in rats and the list goes on.  Americans are an extinct people who have been captured through toxic injury by our hidden Jesuit rulers through their Zionist agents who have been controlling the Fed since 1913.

This organized crime syndicate has poisoned the public in order to protect their enormously lucrative Fed banking scams from challenges from a healthy, alert and vigilant public.  Always follow the BIG money.  Our hidden Jesuit rulers want workers just smart enough to do their job but not smart enough to discover their banking scams like interest bearing money creation or fractional reserve banking.

Eric Jon Phelps - The Real Powers Behind The NWO
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YEEZUU1kDzU

The BRICS are onto the global dollar counterfeiting fraud and Jesuit poisoning agenda because they don't drink the toxic koolade and are now getting out from under it.  Don't expect Americans to discover any of this.  They have been captured and mind controlled through toxic injury which produces depression, anxiety, lethargy and a blind allegiance to the establishment.  Americans are cooked.

This article is premised on COMPLETE BULLSHIT. Average IQ is RISING throughout the world, as noted in the "Flynn Effect" (you can google it to learn more).

In virtually every nation, a 3-point per decade increase in average IQ has been noted, when IQ is measured using the same test as administered at the start of the period. That is, if you measured IQ using Test "A" in 1970, by 2000, if you use the same Test "A", you should expect to see an average score of 109, rather than 100.

So bollocks to your flouridation/vaccination/Jew/racial bogeymen. Like Anthropogenic Global Warming, the measured results don't support the theory.

The first chart accounts for the hubris of spreading Ebol (and admitting thousands from third world countries) so cavalierly... no examination of possible unintended consequences.

"Humanity cannot risk its future falling into the hands of increasingly lethal buffoons. The stakes are just too high now. Hopefully our leaders are paying attention..."

Are you kidding about "our leaders paying attention"? They are part of if not the main problem. I find there's still common sense among the population. In the population you have people starting and running successful businesses, living within their means, raising good and smart kids, paying their bills, eating right to maintain good health, etc., etc.

Cast  your eyes in the direction of "our leaders" and what do you find?
