This Seems To Be Going Well...

Tyler Durden's picture

Submitted by Simon Black via Sovereign Man blog,

Gallup released a new poll late last week showing how many (or few, as it were) Americans are ‘satisfied’ with the direction of the country. 23%. That’s it. 76% are NOT satisfied. Only 1% aren’t sure.

The chart below shows the astounding, long-term decline since 2000.

Note, this is a trend that has outlasted three Presidents and six Congresses. It’s not about a single politician, or even ALL the politicians. It’s about the system itself.

Bottom line, people are fed up. The system has failed. And people are starting to realize it. Where do you think this goes?

It didn't last, because the red white and blue ribbon magnet (made in China) that we put on the bumper of our car fell off at some point.

The solution (obviously) involves a new ribbon magnet and a fresh set of American flag lapel pins.

I think the best way to deal with your “1) victims, 2) slackers, 3) college educated idiots, and 4) "I-want-what-you-got" total losers.” is to do the opposite of what you said in bold.

The only way you can change the direction of our country is to prove the ideology of the socialists wrong.  You can tell people it is wrong all you want, make brilliant points and reference history, but as long as someone is promising free stuff to the majority you can never change the direction of this country through the ballot box. The only way to change the direction of this country is to prove it to the nation by allowing the things we warn of to happen to them.  In other words allow the system to break.

Let’s be honest the system is going to break anyway and I would much rather it happen on my watch and not my kids.  So that said the fastest way to get the system to break is to allow the Pelosi’s and Reid’s of the country to maintain power and put in place every entitlement, high tax rate, government expanding, and easy money policy they can think of.  If you don’t allow them free reign they will always blame it on someone else.  Give them enough rope to hang themselves and stand well clear, gathering strength.  We’re going to need it to rebuild.  Once the crash happens as long as there are enough of us, who believe in private property, sound money, small govt, free markets and individual freedom to get the nation back on track, we will be prosperous again in no time.

If we fight them every step of the way we will weaken ourselves, only delay the inevitable and only give them someone to blame when it does break.  If we give them free reign, they have no one to blame but themselves.  The last thing we want is a Rand Paul in office when it breaks.  If I were him I would not run until the reset happens.

I came to this same conclusion about 3yrs ago, hence now I advocate EVERYONE to get as much Free Shit from the system as possible.  But with the understanding that it will not last and to continually prepare for when this shit goes sideways.  I know many will contest this position, but bring more then your pull yourself up by your bootstraps or we can fix it if [insert cliche here] nonsense.  The only other options is violence and alas very few are truly ready to deal with that option despite all the bravado that comes with their impassioned cries for the next 'meriKan revolution.  I eagerly await the responses...........

Thanks for your response. I don't see any other way to go about it.  Stop fighting and live to fight another day.  Not only is fighting the socialists only delaying the inevitable, but even if they start to fail we don't want to be within arms reach of them to pull us down and blame us for it.

Tue, 09/16/2014 - 15:12 | 5223712 bwh1214
bwh1214's picture

Though I think Reid and Pelosi can do plenty of damage that will cause death through decline prosperity I don’t think we have to worry about direct genocide from that crowd.  Now what comes after the crash they cause, yes those people historically can be capable of genocide.  We should not waste our strength trying to prevent the inevitable crash of our system.  We should stand back, watch the show, and be engage when we restructure.   If there is a 10 ton bolder rolling down a hill toward your house, you don’t stand in front of the bolder.  Call the house get the kids out and let it crush your house.  If you try and stop it you get crushed, if you stand back and allow it to destroy your house, you can be there to rebuild.

Does anyone think we can stop the collapse?  If so how?  If not why fight it?  Stand back and be ready to rebuild.

Those are symptoms I am afraid, the root cause is human nature.  Until we are strong enough to truly examine it, recognize it and put logical individual controls in place this cycle will rinse and repeat ad nauseum.  Oh wait there were some folks once that kinda got it in 1776 even with all their flaws [and there are too many to list] they atleast 'got it' about true human nature, but successive generations lost it............

Slightly OT:

I just watched a movie entitled Rampage 2: Capital Punishment

It really pales in comparison to its predecessor, but then it has always been difficult for a sequel to exceed the original. The director Uwe Boll, was responsible for Assault On Wall Street, another anti-establishment, vigilante themed movie. It is a rare occurrence that a movie attempts to relate the truth of the world that is absent from any newscast or headline.

I will apologize in advance should you feel like you wasted 1 1/2 hours of your life watching this. The rant contained in the final scenes feels like it was ripped from the articles of Zero Hedge....or at the very least, the comments section.

Someone can't draw a chart.

The trend was down only until '09, since which it is clearly flat. Evidence that the shock-n-awe economic collapse  of '08 did the job.

This is critical. It means that 25% of the people will never understand that they've been tooled. Will never lift a finger. Will never take a stand. When you add in the 40% on government assistance (doesn't have to be the same people) you get back to something like 60% of Americans who won't want things to change.

And that is enough for anyone who promotes BAU to win an election. Which is why we will only ever get people waving the BAU/TBTF flag forever.

Bottom line, people are fed up. The system has failed. And people are starting to realize it. Where do you think this goes?

If it were a company, it goes out of business. Being that it's about government ... it goes to getting "all" the business. An overplot of ever increasing govenment size would confirm that.

Where do I think this goes?

It looks pretty obvious to me we've got people trying their damndest to implement either full communism or as far left of a Euro-style social democracy as they can, except they have no fucking clue what they're doing and think they can make a Norway model work in US in spite of having a massively more heterogeneous population and no massive input from government-owned oil field revenues, and no desire on the part of the civil service class to actually provide services. There's a handful on the right that lean towards dictatorship, but most of the evidence I see on both the faux left and right supports this oddball fascist socialism vision.

When things break they're going to go into a "let no crisis go to waste" mode and try to pull off the full takeover. Rest assured part of that includes deleting the bill of rights, especially numbers 2, 4, and 10. Given all the investment in remote-control war, I think they may have a Hunger Games level vision of DC controlling the states via drone. Whatever they do, it'll be "for our own good," since they know better. /sarc.

I hope when it happens we get balkanization to a degree big enough to freak out TPTB to they point where they think the original state-centered republic is a better idea, and let them feast on CA and NY before they turn their attentions elsewhere and try to re-federalize things.

Pick you -ism, power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely. Whichever way you go seems to lead to fascism/cronyism over time.  It is just that with capitalism capital (banksters) steer the bus a little sooner maybe, while with the other two, at least at the start, it is more about relationships and favors, vs. straight up bribes.

Hillary Clinton isn't just spending her vacation in the Hamptons, the super pac urging her to run in 2016 "Ready for Hillary" is holding a swanky fundraiser in the Hamptons on Friday.......The co-hosts are even more interesting, especially embattled former New Jersey Gov. Jon Corzine who is joining New York philanthropists and real estate investor Dan and Brooke Neidich to throw the party. Corzine was at the center of the $1.6 billion MF Global collapse and has laid low politically since, but Republicans seized on the news of the event immediately trying to link Corzine to Clinton.

People, younger ones in particular, have little hope because the system has been hijacked by the bankers and bureaucrats. Each group is sustained by inflation. Inflation keeps asset values up and bankers in power. Inflation keeps tax revenues up and bureaucrats in power. The SOLUTION to stagnant real wages is LOWER PRICES. It will never happen.

Butt, the only thing that could possibly change it (two other chart lines which if superimposed on the that one,s showing the length of time in power and the number of Incumbents in both parties), is off the table.

While the approval ratings for CONgress are in the 17% range,  90% of those who could get rid of their own Incumbents are not going to do so.

So the chart is as useless as yesterday's slightly skid marked toilet paper.

Bottom line, people are fed up. The system has failed. And people are starting to realize it. Where do you think this goes?

Are they "so fed up" that they are willing to do anything including risking there own personal safety in order to do the right thing so that the letter of the law in our Constitution is preserved which means everyone in Washington goes to jail based on their voting record(s) both past and present -most important among them at the head of the line the Attorney General and the President of the United States for the treason they've committed?...

That would mean we'd be too preoccupied to watch fottball, basketball and baseball 5 times a week showing up in the Nation's Capital to tell our representatives we're not leaving until you are in jail!....

Just imagine the possibilities culminating from those actions.  No wars, not the level of subversion and graft we have in government today...

When Clinton showed the country the kind of politics he would play with the Crime Bill I saw the slime of Southern politics for the first time. Until then the  Kingfisher was just a story. Clinton brought shame, slime and divisiveness to this country like it had never experienced.

To me Clinton is mostly to blame for our current situation. The number 2 culprit is the American voter for electing W. I never understood how anyone could get excited about the guy. I hated Gore more but not enough to vote for Shrub. I think I went with the "L" candidate.

If it's anybody's fault, blame the Founding Fukwads who devised the system and failed to adequately protect it from itself.

I'm convinced that there are no more 'citizens' awake to reality than was the case in 2008.  Voter participation in the party primaries are down, even within the Goiter Ole Party.  There were people who were pretty average willing to take on the Establishment incumbents, i.e. Cadaver McConnell (Senate Minority Leader), but again maybe 15% of the registered party voters turned out, so one of the most corrupt ugly pigs of the GOP is still likely to lead the party in the Senate.  People are fed up....no they're not.  They wouldn't know their anus from a rabbit hole.  I'm fed up, disappointed, distressed, and disillusioned with the alleged most educated in the world.  Sorry for the rant.

I voted against him, although they moved my polling place unannounce into the middle of a working contruction site, with no signs visible from the road. When I complained about it, and mentioned the other voters I had seen driving aimlessly around the area trying to find a polling place, the asshole running the show said I should be happy there was a polling place.

McConnell lost the primary in my county anyway, otherwise I would have brought the problem higher.

I was called today for a "poll" and they presented three choices the democrat woman, decepti-con Mitch and undecided. I told the guy none of those three. He said Whhhhat??? I said there is a Liberatarian on the ballot, David Patterson, and I am voting for him. Stunned silence.

Americans can not tolerate pain.  Let me put it another way...any form of cutback from the government spigot.   Hence, no change to the status quo.  Then there are the brain dead that keep saying "we keep re-electing the same people over and over again."  In case you haven't noticed, the country is terribly divided.  Something like 47% vote for Dems and 47% vote for Repubs.  So how exactly are we suppose to wrap our arms around one another and sing kumbaya?  The Dems will continue to vote Dem and the Repubs will continue to vote for Repubs.  Hence, no change to the status quo.

As I see it, Washington has two choices.  1) The Fed voluntarily abandons all their attempts to stimulate and we land hard but we gradually recover.  2) Continue down this merry road toward total currency collapse.  Option 1...we've got some resemblence of a chance.  Option 2....only the fit survive.  Societal breakdown with the norm being Ferguson.  When the dollar goes, so does the country.   At the current pace, in 2023, interest on the US debt will exceed all other expenditures.

On second thought, forget everything I just wrote.   I'll go back to what I said in the beginning.  It takes leadership to produce cohesiveness which would result in shared sacrifice but then again the US population can not handle pain.   Remember in grade school the teacher saying "....the US is blessed with natural born leaders..."    What happened..?

Things could start really falling apart on Thursday.

I haven't really thought this through but what if:

1. Scotland declares independence on Thursday (go Scotland!)

2. Customers run on the banks in the UK Thursday night/Friday.

3. UK banks have almost none of their deposits backed up (like almost every other bank on the planet), so the UK banks quickly collapse by Saturday. UK goes total berserker Sat/Sun.

4. Monday, a chain reaction of bank/country economy collapses ensues.  The UK goes off the cliff, Tuesday, Japan goes off the cliff, Wednesday, Italy goes off a cliff, Thursday Spain goes off a cliff, ... Saturday, after taking Friday off, the US goes off a cliff...

5. Then starting on Sunday, just as Obama planned, Ebola is found in about 20 people in the US next week, to add to the fun.

6...

Hopefully somewhere in there, probably more towards #6, the People take sweet vengeance on the politicians, bankers, anti-constitutional judges and anti-constitutional police cheifs who helped bring all this about.

With any luck, I'm wrong about the whole thing.

“Where do you think this goes?”

We’re looking at the inauguration of the next Dark Age.

Americans have consented to the cannibalization of their young to the end of time, according to data and formulas given by a financial report of the US government.  This will be the result of governmental debt beyond counting.

Thus, we discuss a society that cannot survive, and does not deserve to survive.

It’s too bad; you see, Americans have the power to stop it, and make accountable all who perpetrated this evil; and they (Americans) refuse to use that power.  There are three main reasons for this failure: one is that they have no knowledge of such power; the second, they’ve been herded into a kind of impotent stupor by medication and indoctrination; the third, that they aid, benefit or were complicit in such evil (full article).
