This Seems To Be Going Well...
Submitted by Simon Black via Sovereign Man blog,
Gallup released a new poll late last week showing how many (or few, as it were) Americans are ‘satisfied’ with the direction of the country. 23%. That’s it. 76% are NOT satisfied. Only 1% aren’t sure.
The chart below shows the astounding, long-term decline since 2000.
Note, this is a trend that has outlasted three Presidents and six Congresses. It’s not about a single politician, or even ALL the politicians. It’s about the system itself.
Bottom line, people are fed up. The system has failed. And people are starting to realize it. Where do you think this goes?

What a bunch of doom and gloomers you folks are. With all the free shit govco is giving away, what's to be unhappy about?
Plus those short memories are always a problem for those of who remember shit. Studies prove flu vacs lead to alzheimers...they've got everything figured out damn it!
Guess what, that level of disgust is even higher among people in the military... you know, people with access to buttons, throttles, and triggers that could vaporize our domestic enemies in a heartbeat.
If the U.S. military does what the Egyptian military did, our problems would evaporate like a puddle on a hot highway.
Yes. I've heard this from various sources...
You are crazier than a bed bug if you think the military could get this polarized and illiterate country to operate well on a command basis. That outfit is chock full of idiots that would make Turd Cruz look like a genius. The military is also just as polarized as the country, and it would shatter into a million pieces if some group tried to 'take over' the government. Our problems would just be starting, as opposed to shrinking and going away.
Now you're starting to understand why the Obama administration is slowly emasculating the US Armed Forces.
-No Christianity allowed.
-Homosexuals are OK, they can even marry each other.
-Prayers are not allowed at the burial services of a fallen member of the Armed Forces.
-Shortage of ammunition.
-Forces vets are at the top of the list of suspected terrorists.
-On and on and on...
This country was NOT founded as a democracy for the simle reason that, as "Mark Twain" so eloquently stated, "It is impossible to underestimate the intelligence of the average american." Rule by the ignorance of the masses is a stupid design.
In most any "Us vs. Them" situation, it can usually be said that the good ones can be as good as anybody, but there sure are a lot of stupid ones. The trick is to get the good ones involved in governance.
That being said, the two party system is not working out too well, as we sit on the edge looking down into the abyss.
Initial votes should take place at the local level, where the voters actually know the candidates for whom they are voting. I do not know Obama, or Romney, or any of the Clintons or the Bushes. I only know what I read or see in the media. I do know, however, a few of the local school board candidates, but not all. If my small local group can send a competent individual forward to the next level, he/she can serve in the next level of government, working in whatever issues are germain to that body, and then that body can choose from amongst themselve who will move up to the school board level. From the school board, city council can be selected. From the city council, a mayorand state legislators can be selected. From state legislatures, congressmen and senators can be selected. Governors would be selected from among the mayors and the president would be selected from among the governors, for executive administration is a different skill than legislating.
Basicly, individuals would choose the competent from among themselves, and then the competents sent forward would choose from among themselves who should move forward. Such a system would hopefully minimize the influence of democrats or republicans and any undue influence in the electoral system.
When you're attempting to create a fair system, then perhaps you should spend some time in the online gaming community. If you can balance an online game, then maybe you are ready to run the world, because let me tell you that people always find a way to cheat and exploit. Spend some time in that community and it becomes glaringinly obvious. People are the reason why no system ever seems to work.
Your are right! If we could just get rid of all the people, maybe we would have a chance.
I saw a bumper sticker on a car in a parking lot that said "Mean People Suck".
I put a piece of duct tape over the word "Mean".
No that's not what that means. It means that the most important thing for a society is it's members. If you are an establishment type and you think dumbing down the populace is going to bring you wealth and power, you're ultimately wrong. You may be right in the short term, but long term all you're going to do is bring down your society. You may believe that you can ride that tiger into commanding a dictatorship, but that isn't going to happen. There are people that prosper in that environment, but it isn't the central banker types.
I think the country is probably not more than 15 years away from a major civil conflict. I think we will know more at the first of the year when Obama has announced his executive amnesty. And the moves towards seccession won't be coming from where the idiot MSM will tell you to look.
If the GDP had the growth curve of EBOLA, things would be great.
If the FED all got EBOLA, things would be great.
If Obama flew to Kenya to fight EBOLA, and stayed there, things would be great.
If Congress got an EBOLA enima, things would be better.
What a bunch of shit. What system hasn't failed? Communism has failed, Monarchy has failed, Collapse of civilization appears to be built into us. We are designed to fail and build again. You can choose to blame it on our current system, and advocate to throw it in the trash, but if you're honest then you must say the fault lies within ourselves.
Planned obsolescense.
Nobody wants to build a car that lasts forever. No profitability or sustainability in that.
Why would career politicians want to create a government that could last forever?
Maybe so they could stay in power forever. Don't do drugs!
Political power is wielded through changing the system, and benefiting from the change.
If it ain't broke, they break it, and they get paid to "fix" it.
I have come to the realization that 90% of problems in life are of one's own design.
Drugs. Divorce. Illigitimacy. Profligate spending. Lack of self-discipline. Immorality in general.
Life is hard. It's even harder when you are stupid.
The unwashed prefer to make excuses or delegate responsibility to others, such as the government or cast blame on some nebulous entity like "the man".
The unwashed keep searching for that savior from on high that will deliver them from themelves.
Strangely, that ship never seems to come in. But it doesn't stop them from believing.
Hence the direction of the chart.
I've come to realize that as well, recently. You can claim that Communism is bad, but yet some people find a way to succeed and even excel under that system. The winners always seem to find a way to win, no matter what the game rules are, and the losers always seem to find a way to complain. If it's communism then they complain about the bread lines, and if it's capitalism they complain because they aren't getting paid enough.
dingleberry - and i've come to find - it might or might not be part of lack of self-discipline. but the inability to use memory is worse for these people than stupidity. fairly stupid people have been able to live a clean, decent life, because they remember how they didn't like waking up feeling broke and hung-over, or they didn't like .....
but you are completely right. and obama was the human messiah. people didn't remember how there previous messiah, didn't do jack for them. and there will be another, and another, and each time, rather then remember, and find hope in themselves, they will hope for somebody else to do it for them.
which i do not like, except at this point, they are dragging the rest of us down. i don't think it was always like that in usa. the weight has become serious now.
They were programmed from birth as their parent and never had any idea how rigged the game was/is. They never stood a chance at this game and can't invision another reality (without help).
Drugs while doing a divorcee are actually some of the good things
The key is ballance.
Some find it difficult to ballance a checkbook, let alone ballancing real needs and wants with abstract concepts like interest, leverage, and investments.
You just have to remember that 90% of everything you see, hear, and read is thought control.
Social security is neither.
We know where this goes: Into the books of history, another chapter on another failed empire.
Ask Detroit's residents. They're still cutting off water to poor people but it's lost the coverage in the press.Funny how China can have such spectacular growth and yet America and Europe are both going in the opposite direction fast.Who in hell are these politicians serving? Are they serving the Communist Chinese Committees in China's National Government? If not, what in FUCK is wrong with them all?
You just figuring that out?
Clinton sold them the W-88 micro nuke plans for some political contributions.
They let the Chicoms buy "surplus" military computers that didn't even have the operating systems removed, let alone all the recoverable info on the hard drives.
Our leaders have been selling us down the drain for decades. Both parties.
Most favored nation trade status.
In two days Scotland will be free!
Two years after that the chummed remnants of the US will think about following the Scots' example. But it'll be too late.
God love you, Scotland. God give ye the Grace to suffer your true independence.
Or by then the Rockchilds will be buying it up for pennys.
Speaking of trends. Jews, TV, Radio, Commericials, Magazines, Miss America? Everywhere you look there is an ugly jew that some how thinks she's (it's) beautiful... put a bag on that groutest trend before the world pukes!
Yeah...There's one.
i hate to say it, but somehow chelsea clinton REALLY looks jewish to me. guess mom and dad thought enough of them, she became a wannabee.
Yeah,,,She has to sneak up on the mirror. She stuck her head out of the car window and got arrested for mooning. Biiill and Muckfence put her picture in their car window as an anti-theft device. Her husband won't have to worry about birth control...her face will do just fine.
falconsixone - but - the stupid bitch and her parents sure did get one over on us. and i got plenty of down arrows! not that i mind.
and as they always say - well, the truth is, i'm half jewish! (not really as mom ain't so i ain't. ok? tribe? got that?).
so - i'm half and i can spot one of my own when i see them.
it really is a lot of fun taking the piss out of people.
Yes, it was really painful for you to say such a dumb ass thing, wasn't it ..
Well, yeah. in spite of their tiny numbers, Jews seem to be everywhere don't they? Of course they excel in Capitalism but , it is not just making money that a disproportionate amount of Jews seems to excel at. Thirty percent of Nobel Prize winners in science are Jewish and major Hollywood studios, like Paramount Pictures and Iniversal Studios, are also run or owned by Jews. In virtually every industry successful Jews are disproportionately represented. Next time you undergo a medical procedure, hear beautiful music, or are amazed at a scientific advancement, chances are good you have a Jew to thank for it.
if we would of had honest oath taking american politicians, 2008-2009 when it was at 7%, that was the last time america had to turn it around.
so they screwed every earner, investor, and retiree, and rewarded the deadbeats, criminal bankers, criminal politicians, and every favored union in america, right up to and including today, and now illegals are favored over earners, investors, and retirees.
of course it don't help any 99.9% of americans don't know american history, the chinese, and muslum populatiion can tell you who screwed them over 500 yrs. ago, most americans think gm, and crysler are still in full swing in detroit, or know or remember what happened 6 yrs. ago.
This year, I was one of those honest -- too much so -- people who ran for office (state house). I lost because a government bureaucrat wanted to double dip after an early gov. retirement (54 yrs), She/he spent 130 thousand dollars for a lousy state house seat. I spent 35 thousand, my budgeted amount -- money out of my own pocket.
Until people who think like us put out some hard cash to support candidates who are not part of the R or D establishment or entangled with lobbyists/lawyers, nothing will happen in the legislature.
Honestly, I'm not sure that any changes the legislature enacts could be enough to counter tptb. At this point, I'm leaning toward voting out ALL currently elected people. Clean slate. And then, in two years, do it again. And in four years, again.
And if people don't vote out the problem-making elected officials, then we need something more drastic, like bankrupcy or revolution. It may be too late to save the republic, as it is now construed. Sad, but true. So, fellow outsiders, lets fight.
I was a hard working young fellow who went out with a shovel and cleaned sidewalks for a quarter after a snowfall. One day a customer paid me with a brand new, odd looking 1965 quarter with a copper streak in it. I thought it was cool looking and brought it home to show my dad. He explained that I had been paid with nickel plated copper rather than silver and that this was not a good thing. It's been all downhill from there.
Yeah, when I was boy I raked leaves for the entire day and carried all of those leaves that I put in large plastic bags and sold them to another neighbor for compost. I was paid 5 dollars for raking the leaves and for delivering leaves for compost I was paid with a jar of homemade jam with a quarter on top. Pay sucked but the jam was good. LOL!
There never has been a day as good as the good ol' days, has there ..
More beatings until patient attitude is adjiusted to the liking of the abusers.
Pardon me for asking, Simon, but do you believe "they" "care" about what we think? If you do, I'm surprised.
Bullish!
Sex sells... all we need is six more years of Topless Markets.
I just hope I live long enough and the markets remain magically suspended in candy-land long enough so that I can spend all I have earned and enjoy it before it all disappears into a black swan induced puff of vapor.
My central failure in this is that hope is not a method.
Let's face it, it really doesn't matter who's elected, the same geniuses, working behind the scenes, are actually running the show.
That's why things never change: because they never change.
Yeah but now gays can get married, and divorced, women can have their children killed without committing a crime, and a black man miraculously became POTUS.
whoopee...
I finally made the 1%! I'm not sure if I'm satisfied because I get an awesome Teacher's Pension but all my students are now unemployed slackers.
Do you bear any, not all, but any responsibility for the way your students have turned out, or to justify, other than union, democratic politics hucksterism for that million or several million dollar pension?
Not that I begrudge anyone who has managed to break it into the 1% ers ranks, being a larcenous authoritarian myownself.
SARC! (No not SHARK!...SNARC!) Maybe the down voters are also in the 1% of cluelessness.
No, its not going WELL.
at least not for us with a wedge like debt-fossil-dollars placed before us and survival.
for those who put that wedge in place, go'n great!
more than just WELL in fact.
so WELL, in fact, that the present level of unwellness fits nicely into plans for moar of their wellness.
and less for everyone else.
99% of humans are authoritarians. Thus their fundamental choice assures they can never enjoy liberty or enjoy life. Therefore, humans are finished, destroyed by themselves.
And all this time I thought I had a learning disability: I can't stand anyone telling me what to do.
You might be surprised how many people don't like to be told what to do... but love to tell others what to do, and tell others they must obey endless "authorities".

Deregulation leads to misery? Many industries in the United States became regulated by the federal government in the late 19th and early 20th century. Entry to some markets was restricted to stimulate and protect the initial investment of private companies into infrastructure to provide public services, such as water, electric and communications utilities.

Is the TVA spending actual money on something? Or are those bond issues? WTF? And what's it all for?
No clue on my end. My guess is infrastructure, roads, waterways. But the whole project is supposed to stand on it's own as a corporate as far as I know. And the Corporation is still showing a small profit on paper while the government is apparently losing money hand over fist.
This is from US Treasury Report, so I don't think we could call them bond issues.

what does it all mean Basil?
You really don't know when enough is enough, do you?
So, like, could you boil that down for us?
Maybe a couple of possibles, but the thrust is a US Government Coup of some kind OR Defection of US Congress over to the side of the Lobbyists.
Basically some inside group got the NEOCONs and the Democrats to Double the Federal Budget in a few short years, with no limits obviously, Raking up Huge Debt that can NEVER be paid, And preventing FED Interest Rates to ever go up, 6 years of Continuing Resolution with huge Increases is a First in Human History for any kind of republic, Congress gave up it's constitutional Budget Powers in Favor or Bankers & Lobbyists, in fact we can look at Constitutional powers and see the President Taking the Nation to War without the Constitutional Powers to Do So. Then of course you have all of the Individual Rights that are broken and the Sovereignty of other Countries Broken.
It is a Constitutional Crisis.
But if you like War and can Profit from War, then you might be in a group that okay with this set-up for a while. Clearly the way the Federal Government is run has been turned on it's head, and how we see money has also.
We are a Debt Based Economy, the Debt is much larger than anyone is talking about, and money is being channeled to Big Banks and others who are NOT Investing in Capital Equipment in the USA, and largely extracting the wealth through the FED & the Government.
But the cost of all this will be Socialized to the Tax Payer and through Inflation of a sort where wealthy have tons of dollars but the people have few dollars.

Where this goes...

(of course, without diy computer animations)
"Where do you think this goes?"
Oh! Oh! I know the answer to this one!
It goes where polls like this won't be allowed to be shown, to a police state that puts you into a cattle car if you express dissatisfaction with the empire, and it ends in a concentration/labor camp. For the children.
Remember the solution to universal unhappiness in a society is best addressed and solved by state sanctioned violence and intimidation. That's why the police look like soldiers whose job seems to only be to attack citizens. It's for the children though so all is good.
People should be asked, at the same time, how satisfied they are with the direction of their own lives. That would be an interesting comparison.
Hijack. ZH the bigest story untold or told wrong is the unstopable METHANE time bomb. Man as we know it is doomed, its over. In 1 or 5 or 10 or 20 years an event will happen leading to total runaway heating. Inevitable. Way bigger than financial collapse. This is life and death. Research Arctic death spiral and the methane timebomb'. See also Dr Natalie Shakhova. I am deadly serious. Massive temp rises way over 6 degrees C up to 16 C degree rise, leading to total ice melt. 70 metre sea rise all up. A 6 degrees C rise is the tipping point. As one scientist said, mankind is fucked.
