I was in Wal Mart today. There was a sign up telling employees that efective 29 Sept. A week away, that a dress code was going into effect. Casual is out. I was teasing one of the young check out girls about it. She said about the same thing as the reporter.. Fuck it. I'll quit. I wish I had life to go over again . I wouldn't have wasted it in a job I hated because I didn't have the balls to quit . Young people are a lot smarter than some of us older people. They don't put up with a lot of BS. I say right on .
People who don't want to dress decently for a job absolutely have the right to quit. And store owners have the right to require their employees to dress appropriately for the job.

i was given a 3 k a year raise,,,, 58.00 a week gross after through 60 and 70 hour work weeks fixing a seriously piss poorly run major chain restaurant kitchen. Brought down food and labor cost over previous year and bottom lined over 600K for them. I quit but I had a family. I did not cuss at my regional manager,,, in a calm voice I simply told him that raise was an insult and I would be looking for work effective when I left the job performance review. I had a wife and family. If I was single I may have and well could have said fuck it and walked out. There is no harm in being civil. There is no harm in respecting yourself enough to treat others just doing what they are told with respect. We all have choices. This is just another reflection on the dumbing down of our society. Crude,,, tasteless,, sensationalistic and self centered. The sun does not rise and set just for you.
