How Bad Could It Get? US Government Order Of 160,000 HazMat Suits Gives A Clue
Now that Ebola is officially in the US on an uncontrolled basis, the two questions on everyone's lips are i) who will get sick next and ii) how bad could it get?
We don't know the answer to question #1 just yet, but when it comes to the second one, a press release three weeks ago from Lakeland Industries, a manufacturer and seller of a "comprehensive line of safety garments and accessories for the industrial protective clothing market" may provide some insight into just how bad the US State Department thinks it may get. Because when the US government buys 160,000 hazmat suits specifically designed against Ebola, just ahead of the worst Ebola epidemic in history making US landfall, one wonders: what do they know the we don't?
From Lakeland Industries:
Lakeland Industries, Inc. (LAKE), a leading global manufacturer of industrial protective clothing for industry, municipalities, healthcare and to first responders on the federal, state and local levels, today announced the global availability of its protective apparel for use in handling the Ebola virus. In response to the increasing demand for specialty protective suits to be worm by healthcare workers and others being exposed to Ebola, Lakeland is increasing its manufacturing capacity for these garments and includes proprietary processes for specialized seam sealing, a far superior technology for protecting against viral hazards than non-sealed products.
"Lakeland stands ready to join the fight against the spread of Ebola," said Christopher J. Ryan, President and Chief Executive Officer of Lakeland Industries. "We understand the difficulty of getting appropriate products through a procurement system that in times of crisis favors availability over specification, and we hope our added capacity will help alleviate that problem. With the U.S. State Department alone putting out a bid for 160,000 suits, we encourage all protective apparel companies to increase their manufacturing capacity for sealed seam garments so that our industry can do its part in addressing this threat to global health.
Of course, purchases by the US government are bought and paid for by taxpayers. For everyone else there's $1200 mail-order delivery:
That said... 160,000 HazMats for a disease that is supposedly not airborne? Mmmk.

Is that West point in Monrovia ... or the intersection of Greenville Ave and Northwest Hwy in Dallas?
Thanks Oldrepublic, West Africa is an amazing place, I've been around the block a couple times and of all the places I've been, I always get that urge to go back and visit West Africa...here's a video I made, well it's a compilation of several trips...enjoy.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CAaOYjHb9K0
thank you.
truly.
Next time, may I be smart enough to travel.
This is a video of a slum called West Point In Monrovia
+++++++++++++++++++++++
i did see a single sorry looking tree early on in the video. Why do they strip and destroy any and all that could make the place not quite a place of beauty, but not the hideous ugliness of what it is. How do the average people in the video get by? Why would they not attempt to get away from the squalor and go for anything that gets one away from the crushing horror of living that way? I'd rather die than live on that street, so I would do anything possible to accumulate seeds and plants that might offer a way out of that pit. I do understand that black folks often will not do anything to improve their situation. That is amply demonstrated in my home town in the USA.
I am looked upon as the ultimate sucker, which I am, for helping and coaxing the folks to cut the crap and make it on their own as much as possible. Rayciss POS is all that I am.
The lefties that are so quick to condemn me for whatever PC covenant that I have broken would never live within two miles of where I live.
Possibly an oversight? Adding "Dallas county" to your list...
.
hey man, we dont believe in witchcraft here in St Louis.
Also our hospitals are very good at treating high trauma level gunshot wounds, and heart disease. I am sure we will be able to adapt just fine. Worst case scenario for me- i go hang out at my parents house in the country and enjoy fresh air clean water and home cooked meals while Ebola runs its course.
Unsanitary crapholes? Like commercial aircraft with recycled air crowded with sneezing, coughing, and wheezing people?
Forward (over the cliff)!
Read the article.
"Nigeria also had some luck. Although the first patient, a businessman named Patrick Sawyer, was vomiting on his flight in, none of the roughly 200 others on the plane fell ill. Others did after helping him into a taxi to a hospital."
Not saying this isn't dangerous, but conditions in Africa are as big of an issue as the virus itself.
Sorry, just trying to shine a little bit of light in here.
Nigeria ( and now Sudan) are lying like motherfuckers, too.
So there's that.
SMG, I take it that you have never worked in an American office , where people won't stay home when they are sick, because they would have to take a vacation as they have no paid sick days. You haven't seen office workers coughing and snotting all day then hanging out in the break room or using the copier. And of course you haven't been around everyone's favorite co-worker who licks their fingers before turning pages of paper, then hands the papers off to you.
You have probably never been to a daycare center here either, where at least one child is sick at any given time.
We don't have exceptional hygiene, just exceptional hubris.
It is hard to get why your observation did not get mass approval. I own a machine shop specialising in high precision molds. I do not tolerate poor hygiene in hand washing and transmissible diseases. My guys may get dirty but they do not get to have unclean hands.
Machine shop residues on hands is nothing like the filth and disease on the hands of office workers. The soaps that I provide are not the nasty chlorinated chemicals that are supposed to provide anti-bacterial action. I supply old remedies such as Boraxo that abrades the bacterial films without attacking the worker's skin. Wahing away the grime and also any bacteria without assaulting the skin is important to me. I do not allow synthetics that attack the underlayers of the skin of my people. I have looked at their hand skin to be sure that the soap works but will not ruin their skin.
I have used some products that delaminate all of my skin to the point that it peels several square inches at a time. It is painful and the skin does not recover.
For good results try Boraxo powder as it does deep cleaning into the grooves of the skin and goes no further. There were a couple of natural soap products that used beet pulp as the scrubbing agent, but they are no nonger available. The best of all was "Pax Lano Salv" that was a lanoloin soap with beet pulp scrubbing agent. It was kind to the skin with no chemical strip of the skin. Boraxo is still pretty good. If you care about your employees you will care about the cleansers that they use on hand soap. If you explain why yo have gone to the ancient remedies they might appreciate your care for them once it becomes habitual use for them.
This is weirdly off topic. I do care about them and am mentioning this for those that can use my experience.
At the EPA, they poop in the halways.
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/06/25/epa-pooping-hallways_n_5530650....
Hope you're right SMG, however, I hardly trust any governments' words related to this outbreak. Do we really know that none of them have not been infected? Do we??? The incentive to cover up the worst of this outbreak is just huge and broad for a government to ignore on an economic, political and social basis. Another example is the CDC stressing to us that it is NOT airborne. Given the daily mutational characteristic of a virus such as this, how does the CDC know it hasn't gone airborne? Do you believe them?
"With the Ebola epidemic predicted to get worse, the Liberian government has taken action to silence news outlets critical of its handling of the health crisis which, according to Liberia's Information Ministry, has claimed more than 1,000 lives in the country since March. Publishers have been harassed and forced to cease printing, and journalists were initially not exempt from a curfew, making it difficult for them to work, according to the Press Union of Liberia (PUL)."

One good sneeze... just one...
Google fecal bacteria on restaurant ice for more data on your risk factors every time you order a soft drink.
You gotta be shittin.
It is custom in the region of southwest virginia where that study took place for a new employee to drop a deuce in the ice machine. The study is culturally insensitive.
think about what you've just said.
There is an enterovirus 63 that disables youth (although cases in adults are reported) which also has a nasty side effect of paralysis (temporary or permanent not known). Our government can't tell us where it originated or how it's spreading or how to detect it--only can tell us that it's there. Small comfort for a family with children in schools.
This is in a nation with a great Healthcare system, highly educated staff, clean and sanitary conditions understood and practiced.
What else can go wrong?
My guess is that enterovirus 63 originated in Central America and was brought here via the "children" invited into the U.S. by Dear Leader.
Forward (over the cliff)!
It's also airborne. If Ebola had a protective outer coating like the enterovirus does, it would be comparable to nuclear holocaust.
Given your premise, that would indicate it should soon be in all 50 states since (as I read this morning) our influx has been parcelled out to all the states.
I'm not so sure tho, altho Occam's Razor would point that way. God only knows what else is being brought here--TB, etc.
Why is it infecting kids who've been vaccinated? Why are adults getting it? Why is paralysis occuring? How is it similar to an outbreak of polio like disease in Cali last year?
It did not even take three months for that enterovirus to spread to over 40 states and counting. The first thing I thought was that it was 100% related to the US govermnent taking illegals and shuttling them to all across America - secretly of course and without the consent or approval of the American people. Fucking cocksuckers in charge are killing and paralyzing their fellow countymen, and are getting away with it scot free - we are witnessing it firsthand in real time, and yet the media has not mentioned the ' coincidence ' of all the illegals being shipped all across the USA.
It is no coincidence.
It is almost a guarantee that this Ebola victim in Texas infected a bunch of people during his travels / airplane / airport / at home / shopping etc. The powers that be are lying thru their teeth saying it is contained. Ebola will be showing up in another US city within the next few days or weeks. Then it is geometric progression from there.
Maverick
It's probably been in all 50 states for a while. It takes 3-4 weeks to get test results and they're not testing most patients. My son was in the PICU 5 days and they just called him an assumed case and didn't bother testing since treatment wouldn't have changed.
Sorry to hear about your son. I hope he makes a full recovery.
your attitude sucks.
(Double post)
Of course they can tell us where the virus came from. They don't want to because the answer isn't PC.
PC? Possibly curable?
"This is in a nation with a great Healthcare system. . ."
You were being sarcastic, right?
I mean, everything is designed that the private insurance companies win out, since 1/5th the workforce was laid off over the past five years, and that really hurt their policies-in-force, after all!
i wasn't being sarcastic.
i was talking about doctors and nurses who are among the best and brightest in our nation. they expose themselves to this shit just to care for people--do you understand it isn't always about money?????for them? Sure there are those who are arrogant pricks, living la dolce vida in big homes and trophy wives/partners (just to be correct/sarc) but the vast majority study their asses off.

Oh Jane!
Dupe
Shoot me
It will be colder on Haloween. Shoppers will be staying in..........
Speaking of that night, I was in a Target store yesterday and saw some 'artificial blood' makeup. Imagine the fright if someone came to your door with this stuff smeared under his eyes. Dressing as a zombie is no longer the best way to scare people.
I suppose the good ol' days of women dressing in the slutiest Halloween costumes possible, are over.
nooooooooo
say it's not true....
its not
ha, ha, goes as an ebola patient, real or not.
It's the new porn: dress haz-mat.
This whole ´ebola´ skit is comical and the Halloween costume is a proper response. Evidently the human pscyhe is too weak to see through the scare tactics of the manufactured terror group ISIS, ebola, and the US government. More people will die this year in accidental US hospital deaths or from the use of ´legal´ medications than from ebola worldwide and yet you trust your doctor. ZH is reporting ´news´ to the masses but they are also promoting the scare rather than ridiculing and dissecting it and though this is a comment board where often the real journalism takes place, it is suggestive at least. AIDS, vaccination programs especially in Africa, and the US government´s own testing of biological and chemical weapons on its own citizens come to mind but spread the ´ebola is loose in America´ meme and there´s something else to be afraid of. So get it straight, cower under your bed at night and beg Uncle Sam to help fight off the Kardashians in the Islamic State(WTF), rampant killer diseases, unemployment, expensive government regulated health care, government regulated environmental disaster, government regulated education(therein lay the problem), the Russians, the government regulated banks while the same 'public leaders' pass laws to incarcerate, monitor, infect, impoverish, and generally destroy its own citizenry. Is it clear yet? Anyone who believes this utter drivel deserves exactly what they are going to get. I pity believers in either side of the current paradigm as we must because I can't imagine living life without a functioning brain, soul, ego and true sense of free choice. Hint, it is mental and that is the only liberation that truly matters. The rest is just smoke. When will ZH advertise NFL, GM, or GE because the recent spate of paradigm supporting BS is getting a bit obnoxious really. The international finance reporting used to be top notch and it is probably still better than anything else out there but the recent senstaionalist sojournment into geo-politics is telling at worst. Best, a fellow buster
Yah, that explains why the media has been ignoring the biggest outbreak of an extremely high mortality rate virus for over 9 months now. That explains how they are just generating fear. Completely makes sense. We can all follow your logic.
Better to ask our resident 'Miffed' how wise it is to bring the infected across natural barriers.
Fool.
do you understand sarcasm, fucknuts?
Follow those blue suits. At least they'll be easy to spot.
160,000 sounds like a lot, however equals only 3200 suits per state all things being equal. And if you consider how many hospitals and medical facilities will require a suit for each person working with the Ebola infected, you can see we're not talking about many suits per facility.
That being said, I expect hundreds of thousands more to be ordered over the next few weeks.
Oh you think they bought those suits for people to help others, not just protect themselves. That is where the mistake is in your thought process there. No worries.
Bingo- my guess is a look at the invoice will show those babies are being shipped to DC to protect the special people.......
The suits weigh in at two pounds.
Durability of reuse after decontamination may be questionable.
Methinks it's a runaway suit.
Oh, I never said that... just using an example to break down the huge headline number and place it in some type of perspective.
Personally, I'm buying tons of large black garbage bags and lots of tape... and goggles. : )
A nice heavy taped seamed rain suit (these come in colors less conspicuous than what's picutred above) w/ hood, rubber over boots butyl gloves....some good duct tape....and a good mask.
Clorox and spray bootles to decon suit, gloves and over boots.
Happy Holocaust.
or 160K divided by 3K ( solidiers) in Africa and you have a 53 days (plus or minus supply) or the 60 day incubation period for over 1M to be infected. Just sayin......
these are much cheaper for personal use;
http://www.non-hybrid-seeds.com/ppk/family-kits/family-max-kit.html
Those tyvek suits are $0.85 when you buy 1000.
http://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/Tyvek-Suit-Coverall_1119677505.htm...
That is some markup. Sell them for 1 oz of silver or 1 box of 50 rounds when the neighbors start panicing.
they need to do that stuff in camo colours.
Now that the "un disposable" gov people will be running around in chem suits we can "pick" them right out of the crowd! Bang!
I keep thinking about that scene from the movie Deep Impact, where the reporter meets the senator on his dock and he's stocking food and preps into his boat and she, like everyone else, still has no clue what's coming down the pipe.
Even if the government knew, they wouldn't tell us. We can only go by signs and make our best guess.
Signs such as:
- buying massive quantities of ammo
- arming every federal alphabet soup agency to the teeth
- buying up hazmat suites and bodybags
- running multiple live fire scenarios with the military in major U.S. cities.
- plundering the people's market and cash flow
Yep, nothing to see here folks... keep moving.
Dont forget the target sillouettes of pregnant women, children and grandmas
No hesitation!
Honestly, even training w/ those targets makes one either a sociopath or already a criminal.
over 150 million dollars of hazmat suits.
unreal.
They have an app for this?
a smear of poo on the screen and whalaa.
Skull and crossbones appears if you test positive.
Goddamn those shit-for-brains Texans!
The first time this guy walks into that hospital, he states he is an African just back from Liberia and feeling very poorly, so the fucktards send him home.
The second time he comes to that hospital he is in really bad shape, so they finally admit him.
And these clowns claim they can contain it????????????
I'd bet he had no insurance.
Thats the ONLY answer they listen to when doing a diagnosis.
But did he say that he was an African just back from Liberia?
Affirmative.
Its racist to ask black people if they are from Africa, but its racist to not call them African American. Its confusing for average folk.
AP is reporting the sick man had contact with school age children. The kids are now quarantined. But what every parent in Dallas wants to know right now... were the kids attending a school??!?!?!
Indeed! No matter what, first follow the money. After that you can move on to other circumstances, but one should first of all check the money trail and ask, who benefits.
Lots of ZH posters made comments, me included, that ebola was just one airline ticket away. We were right. This ebola fly right into the country, went through customs and immigration and went home to it's family. Only when sick did it enter the hospital isolation ward. Need I mention this, "how many people had physical contact before he was isolated? A hand shake, a sneeze in close proximity? Etc.
The idea seems to be, that the USA has no fear of ebola, we will gladly field the ebola cases as they appear sick at ER rooms, we will leave airports open to ebola passangers, we will form our first defense line at the hospital! Need I point out the bad logic involved in this approach?
Follow the money! Is someone in health care hoping for a huge Pay Day if ebola becomes more than one or two isolated international passangers? Be warned, big money, billions is waiting to be made here.

The USSR, Al CIA-ada, 'global warming', ISIS, or Ebola - what does it matter what 'enemy' they create next ? Just make it 'scary' enough so the public will be frightened so they can be robbed. And if they start waking up, you can get the meatheads in the police & military to control the serfs - for awhile, anyway.
Their final move may even be a false flag 'invasion by space aliens' at this rate of ridiculousness.
What do they know that we don't? Almost certainly, nothing of any value. They are ignorance personified.

reading the comments yesterday..
on the cdc us ebola story...
the best comment i saw was by MsCreant...
she said...'RELAX, and fill your water barrels, for if they contained it, its OK...
and if they didn't...ITS ON!'
well, ITS ON!
BITCHEZ!
(and the bad news, 'MOTHER NATURE ALWAYS BATS LAST!!!')
and bad news #2...im not giving out candy this year for halloween...talk about death visiting....sad, but true! (think about it, bitchez!)
It is not a singular event... these risks will carry and increase over time. First they said it was about 20% chance of reaching the US by the end of september... and that is only with the ~7k confirmed cases at the moment. Give it another month or two and it will be more like 20% chance per week of someone starting a new infection group in a major city. It doesn't matter if they contain this one, the next few, or 'most' of them. If the doubling rate stays anywhere near the same it is going to be a very interesting year. If it hits their current worse case scenario of ~1.5 million infections by Feb I can't imagine how you wouldn't have daily arrivals in every major city that are infected.
They are all meant for Africa. The Nobel Prize Winner suddenly got generous. Relax. Don't cancel your annual vacation to Dallas - hotels and restaurants are half-priced now. Besides, Dallas cheerleaders look equally sexy in HazMat suits.
Nothing will happen Obungle has sent 3,000 troops to Africa to kill "Al bola" they will be taking out the inferstucture of the terrorist group as we speak , look at Syria we are bombing grain silos ,oil refineries, hospitals, water treatment plants , ect . This is what we do "Al Bola" is dead allready they just dont know it yet.
Visit Dallas if you like, but if you own any retail or airline stocks, you better watch this very closely. Malls will be d.e.a.d., and there will be plenty of discount seats to most destinations the air tubes fly to.
This is potentially a genuine disaster, and there does seem to be things we are not being told about it. On the one hand, some get infected while others with similar exposure do not. I hear various numbers about survivors, but it seems that about 60% do make it. There are stories about the virus being airborne and passed that way among lab animals.
It is a VIRUS, too, and viruses tend to mutate. If it can cross over to become airborne, or even spread by mosquitoes, the economy will be one thing that dies a certain death.
I gave up flying a long time ago because of the ridiculous security and crowded airports/flights. Now who wants to fly knowing how germs are circulated around the cabin, and they never bother to do a decent cleaning.
Packed like cattle elbow to elbow with everyone coughing. Bathrooms the size of a phone booth so you have to touch everything... yuk.
Just make sure you use an ass-gasket when you take a dump on the plane.
When the 1918 flu epidemic hit my grandmother was a young wife with a baby, and she lost her entire family. Her husband and child died within a week of each other. Think about the implications of that. If its not stopped this will become personal for all of us, and those who survive will each eat their hearts for grief. When a species overpopulates a disease comes along to thin them out. This is how nature handles that; otherwise, the world would be overrun with rabbits. I'm not an epidemiologist, but I've read enough history and science to understand how these things happen. Their belief that they can stop it is hubris - if this is not the disease there is another one in our future. If this is the one, once it breaks out in ernest they are going to do terrible things to try and stop the unstoppable. Failing that, they are going to do terrible things to cover up their culpability. They have taken a terrible risk with all our lives for the sake of the economy, and commerce is deadly in times of plague. The black death traveled along the Silk Road. I only heard my grandmother speak about the 1918 Spanish flu epidemic once. She said that whole year went by in a blur for her, and she didn't remember many details, but it was winter, and they couldn't bury the dead because the ground was frozen. Her father's property was close to the funeral home, so they stored the community's dead in his barn.
"Go forth and procreate" until you destroy the ecosystem and life on earth.
You dumb bastards.
I've never had any success convincing people to reduce the number of children they have. In fact the mere suggestion results in howls of protest.
We have had ample opportunity to consciously reduce our population but humans are just too fucking selfish and stupid to think in global terms.
Ebola is going to do what we could have done with no pain and no suffering.
Humans are truly dumb fucks.
Christians must be excited by the prospect of their children bleeding to death in agony, before their eyes, just gagging with anticipation and excitement.
Revelations tells you this was all pre-ordained by the benevolent master of the universe.
PS: If the hazmat suits are going to be employed anywhere I'd suggest distributing them to the operators of the worlds nuclear power plants. You know, just in case.
Destiny foreseen by prophecy is not the same as
being pre-ordained by God,
only seeing the future, not causing the future.
Did Nostradamus cause the events which he had foreseen and prophesied?
Might be too metaphysical a question for you.
Lost Word. When human beings in the 21st century still believe in bull shit like Nostradamus there is little hope for the progress of humanity. If you can't understand the mechanism by which the likes of Nostradamus and astrologers seem to predict the future, you are not educated enough or possibly just lack the necessary cognition.

Dallas patient was freely "roaming the floor" at Presbetyrian Hosp. during his first visit (before he was tested for ebola) - per reports of a Presby healthcare worker from the said floor. Amazin they put the order in on the 12th of Sept... Just in time...almost as if they knew...
"Wash your hands & wait for the vaccine?!?!"
With such an INCREDIBLY infantile strategy, all we need to do is get Africa to USE SOAP?!?!?
Are there ADULTs ANYWHERE to be found in this administration?!?!

Things that normally kill bacteria (soap, heat) do not kill a virus. This is why you can't cook it out of bush meat. You can wash it FROM your hands but that is about it. I literally think the reason they say to wash your hands with soap to prevent viral communication is because in general without soap you would scrub and wash a lesser amount of time. If .gov shows up at your door ( like in Sierra Leone ) with a bar of soap asking to check everything out, it is a scam.
I'm sure they knew it was coming to America and had a pretty good idea of the timeline. This has all been mathematically modeled.
Attention Citizens, you have nothing to fear. This virus does not spread easily. The situation is contained. Everything is under control. Remember to wash your hands regularly.
Also, Attention Citizens, thank you for your tax dollars that bought our new protective suits.
That is all.
Ebola is going to be the next pre-engineered 9/11. "Uncontrolled disease" = controlled demolition. The majority of the herd won't see it happening.
I hate the era we live in. But here we are.
Don't let a good crisis go to waste.
