Nigerian Traveler Admitted To Washington Hospital With "Ebola-like" Symptoms

Tyler Durden's picture

Contained?

CNN reports that a Washington-area hospital has admitted a patient with symptoms possibly associated with Ebola, the Howard University Hospital said Friday.

The patient, who was not named, had traveled to Nigeria and upon returning was "presenting with symptoms that could be associated with Ebola," according to hospital spokeswoman Kerry-Ann Hamilton.

The unidentified patient is listed in stable condition, according to Kerry-Ann Hamilton, a spokesperson for the hospital.

The hospital released the following statement:

We can confirm that a patient has been admitted to Howard University Hospital in stable condition, following travel to Nigeria and presenting with symptoms that could be associated with Ebola.

In an abundance of caution, we have activated the appropriate infection control protocols, including isolating the patient.

Our medical team continues to evaluate and monitor progress in close collaboration with the CDC and the Department of Health.

FYI, here is another take on this "ebola" at johngaltfla.com/wordpress/2014/10/02what-if-it-is-not-ebola-but-a-biowarfare-weapon/

What if it is not Ebola but a BioWarfare Weapon?

If it was a bio-warfare weapon it would have been deployed VERY differently. This is a straight-up epidemic on its way to becoming a pandemic.

Still waiting for the first Ebola patient to be discovered in NYC after they have spent a week riding the subways spreading those body fluids.

160,000 HazMat suits ain't gonna begin to do the job.

Well I do not consider myself a troll poster, but I have said over and over again that we will not see the same profile for Ebola over here as in Africa.
And I stand behind it.  Time will tell I guess.

And we have access to prophylactics everywhere in America for peanuts that will help protect you against viral infections.

Ensure your vitamin D levels are optimum, eat a diet that is non-taxing on your immune system, and supplement with things that have known antiviral activity (Vitamin C, EGCG, Selenium, the list goes on and on).

I don't get colds much anymore in winter due to supplementing with 4000 IU.  A $5 bottle lasts two people a month or more.

Just watch your C intake, as you will be spending more time in the office if you overdo it.

I've been researching it, and some sources say it's the type of C. You can overdo it with the synthetic asorbic acid types, but the more rare, natural C stuff from whole foods is perhaps better, and you can load up on it w/no worries. At least that's what I'm seeing with my search for some high quality C to help us out around here.

Yes, there is a certain zombie apocalypse element to this if things go to the extreme. Travel suspended, martial law, then no law. Government and social structures disintegrate. Those preppers are starting to look not so dumb right now.

A message to everyone in Africa who thinks they may have contacted ebola and are considering coming to the United States for treatment. You are being lied to. Our best doctors don't work in our hospitals, but in our banks. When you get here, seek treatment in places like the Marriner Eccles building in Washington DC. They have the best doctors and enough pressurized treatment rooms to treat at least 15,000 patients at a time. If DC doesn't do it for you, try the headquarters of JPM or Goldman Sachs in New York city. Rumor has it that each one of those buildings can treat at least 10,000 patients. Just show up at the doorsteps of any of these institutions, use the password "My name is Gideon Gono" and you will be welcome with open arms.

I'm not worried about ebola unless I get it. Craig Hulet was the guest on Coast to Coast AM last night and he pretty much gave a good assessment of the ebola situation. Most important of his statements was that the pharmaceutical companies have vaccines for ebola and that they will put them into production once enough people contract the disease; once it becomes profitable for them. The CDC may not own a patent on ebola but had applied for a patent to work with the virus. So don't catch the ebola until it is under control. Of course by then 100s of millions of people could be toast. Just don't be one of them.

I do recommend Obama have his brain checked. Something doesn't seem right with that dude.

You can listen to Hulet's talk here.

The U.S. government has held the patent on Ebola since 2010

Finally, the U.S. government has claimed intellectual property ownership over the "invention" of the Ebola virus ever since 2010.

This brings up all sorts of important questions: Why did the government patent its "invention" of Ebola? Patents are filed in order to claim monopoly ownership over an invention. That's the entire purpose of a patent, of course, and by patenting Ebola, the U.S. government is clearly stating that it believes it is the "inventor" of Ebola while seeking to restrict anyone else from using it.

Click here to read the patent for yourself.

Perhaps this is why Liberian scientist Dr. Cyril Broderick, Professor of Plant Pathology, believes Ebola is an engineered bioweapon. "Ebola is a genetically modified organism (GMO)" he declared in a front-page news story in the Liberian Observer. [8]

He goes on to explain:

[Horowitz] confirmed the existence of an American Military-Medical-Industry that conducts biological weapons tests under the guise of administering vaccinations to control diseases and improve the health of "black Africans overseas."

SITES AROUND AFRICA, AND IN WEST AFRICA, HAVE OVER THE YEARS BEEN SET UP FOR TESTING EMERGING DISEASES, ESPECIALLY EBOLA

I saw an interviewee who said that courts can't issue a patent for a naturally occuring organism, so a patent is de facto proof the Ebola was modified.

More, the study results for an Ebola vaccine have not been made publically available, which is highly unusual. This includes whether it was effective or had major side effects. Such lack of available data is a very strong indication that the information is "classified", ie., it's part of the MIC arsenal.

Further down the Rabbit hole, Andy Stern (former head of the SEIU union, Obama bundler) was given a position on the board of SIGA Corporation in 2009. Last month SIGA filed for voluntary bankruptcy. SIGA makes biodefense weapons, including Ebola vaccines. SIGA is controlled by Billionaire Perleman.

I get the feeling the numbers of deaths and infected in west Africa are being manipulated. That they are holding back healthcare on purpose, and that the spread of ebola is being promoted through disinformation. The culling of the herd. Flying in people from infected countries, the many healthcare workers that died and the unbelievable stupidity in handling infected people in the US. Sometin's fishy about this.

Have a holding area for folks who have been in close contact with someone who has been diagnosed with Ebola. Have another for those where the contact is not as direct. If it is too early in the game to have thought that through, at least quaranteen them at the hospital until you have had time to sterilize the apartment.

What they have done here is NOTHING, guaranteeing that those folks will keep being exposed to Ebola.

And if you are correct that at least some of the people have Ebola, then they are going to infect the ones in there who do not have it yet.

The idea is to keep the disease from spreading so that you and I don't get it. And if you have already taken money from me in taxes that I am helpless and forced to pay, at least use it to pay for this.

Rock'n Rolla Payolla Ebola, the marketing opportunities are endless! Manufacturing panic using FUD is very very profitable. Fear, Uncertainty and Doubt are the keys to propaganda and manipulation. HazMat suits have sky rocketed in price over the past 24 hours, CNN is pumping the fear as the ratings go up, what is next? Yes, the CDC lies and our government does the same, all feeding and preparing for the frenzy. Don't get me wrong, we are in trouble on so many different fronts, this is just the latest volley of FUD to be dumped on 'We the people'. Do yourself a favour, don't watch the news, study the news and don't panic. Enjoy the controlled demolition of our society. Survival is revolutionary! :)

Precisely.  There is no reason for this hospital to announce this before rt-pcr results, except for perception management purposes.  Never let a good chance for psyop go to waste.

As many ZH commenters have noted, CDC is either impossibly grossly incompetent or Deep State/Kleptocracy has a lucrative plan for Amerika's Directors, aka 1 percenters. The twisted "reasoning" from the CDC's director is beyond belief:

“The only way we’re going to get to zero risk is by stopping the outbreak at the source....Even if we tried to close the border, it wouldn’t work,....People have a right to return. People transiting through could come in. And it would backfire, because by isolating these countries, it’ll make it harder to help them, it will spread more there and we’d be more likely to be exposed here.”

http://www.politico.com/story/2014/10/ebola-us-border-111581.html

And beyond the "zero risk" strawman and the hypocrisy of any post-Patriot Act official feigning deference to civil liberties (particularly of non-American citizens), there's this:

"People who contract Ebola in West Africa can get through airport screenings and onto a plane with a lie and a lot of ibuprofen, according to healthcare experts who believe more must be done to identify infected travelers."

NBC camera man who only filmed Ebola has contracted ebola. He is being flown to America for hospitalization. Notice we are now flying ebola in, as if the travers with ebola are not enough.

This government will not be happy till ebola is infecting numbers of Americans. I pity the nurses and aids who are charged with ebola care. Fuck, it is SO HARD to catch? Then why are people catching it? Sure it is not like flu, we all know that, but is is moving now from place to place fairly rapidly. If so hard to get, then why are people getting it. A camera man was filming ebola, not handling patients. He has got it and is on a plane to USA, just where government want him.

Air Ports are taking all comers from ebola nations. Nothing is shut down here. Hmmm, why does government want ebola in the USA? And guesses ZH'ers??

Obama is guilty of misfeasance and malfeasance in office. He is a criminal.

In addition, he is committing second-degree murder under cover of law on everyone who dies from these diseases his reckless policies allowed into the country - Yes, he is guilty of Second Degree Murder: death by reckless indifference to life.

We have reached the point where we tell the Black Racists who support him to go to He11. We tell the Hispanic Racists, the Gay Mafia, the Obamabots, the MSM, the Hollywood celebrities, and any dumba$$ federal cops who defend him to do the same.

We show up at our congressional delegations Town Hals - and their offices in their districts and if we have to - we sit in until the pressure can't be resisted.

If they can mobilize in Hong Kong - we can mobilize to save our lives, the lives of our children, grandchildren, extended family, and the rest of humanity in America.

This transcends politics - this is a genuine life or death crisis. Obama must be removed from office because he is insane - literally - with desire to import all the illegals he can get over the border and use them to open the door to Death in America.

Obama must go. He is aiding and abetting mass homicide in America through insane policies concerning an open invasion of illegals carrying not just this, but God knows what other diseases.

Black Racists, Hispanic Racists (especially the ultra-racist La Raza), gay heterophobic hate-speakers, MSM propagandists, political hacks, air-for-brains cops, kiss-up military flag officers . . . it's over for Obama. Move out of the way, or watch society overwhelm you.

Get rid of him peacefully, or be prepared to see America erupt into a blazing fire of violence against *you* for trying to keep him around.

I've been trying to put into words, for days now with everybody I 've talked to the real problem with ebola, with this sisuation in general is the one thing nobody seems to want to acknowledge. certianly nobody in the media or the government at any rate. that is that, if history has shown us anything it's that the one simple truth is a virus can not be contained.

take hiv for example, it's only route of transmission is through direct contact with body fluids, it has zero aerosol risk, a person with aids can cough on you, sneeze on you, sweat on you or whatever for days and you will not contract the virus. the amount of the virus in even the heaviest water particals is to low to spread in that way and yet aids has managed to spread across the entire planet and kill millions. this desptite halving the most easily avoidable methods of transmission.

now ebloa, while it is not airborn in the same sense as influenza, is in fact an areosol heavy water particals carry enough of the virus to infect a victim via absorbtion through the nose, mouth or even open pours on the skin. the key difference is that this heavy particals don't travel very far and don't stay in the air as long as the smaller ones that transmit influenza. but that really is little comfort when you have a virus that kills 50% of it's victims and has that method available in which to spread.

so as far as contaiment goes it really is a buzz word, a part of a phrase that is over used and poorly understood by the American public. if the history of  outbreaks shows us anything it's that once a virus appears in an area, it spreads because that is it's genetic imparitive, thats the reason it exists. ebola always was a zero sum game in a way, the only way to ensure that it would not become a major risk to the US was to make certian that it did not show up here in the first place. now that that is no longer a possibility we will see more cases, more people will become infected and it is likely that it will mutate further and become more virulent, more easily spread and more dangerous. simply because that's what a virus does and now it has a whole new genetic playground to run loose in.

so recent events have shown us that the collective "we" were not ready for this. the system that gov. perry praised has already failed on several levels, to what extent remains to be seen. in just one case we see that the level to which our federal, state, county and local health officials and institutions are not up to the challenge ebola presents. they spout assurences about keeping us safe from something that they know very little about, something that has the ability to evolve and change as a threat in a way they have never before had to combat.

in other words, how could they have "been ready" in the first place?

but the worst part, the most dangrous part perhaps is that we and I mean you and I, our families, our friends, our neighbors and coworkers, the people you pass on the street everyday all of us regular folks...are not ready to deal with this. and that may very well be where this battle is one or lost, because we all live and work on the front lines. we all must be ready and able to put aside our normaly bias, our expectations and entitlements, our myopic view of the way things should be in order to do what is needed to ensure this does not become the thing, the event that brings us down. but can this America do that? or have we become, as a culture to dependant to be self reliant and take personal responsibility for the safety of those closest to us should this go sideways? will Americans in this day and age be able to survive the culture shock of a major ebola outbreak, will we be ready to do our part to try and stop it from spreading? everyday people like all the hedgers here will play a huge role in how this all plays out and Americans in general must learn quickly that you, not the federal government, not the CDC and not big pharma with the mirical cure, the individual person is there own, best chance for survival.

as always pray for the best...but hedge accordingly.

This news makes me wonder how the stock market could rally so strong now that Ebola is front and center. People must love risk or the market is rigged,  I think it is the latter. Another explanation is money is pouring into America from Japan and Europe because their currencies are on the verge of collapse.

Americans ignored Ebola while thousands of people died in Africa, now that one person gets sick in America it has become an "Oh My God" moment. This virus has worked overtime to pick up "critical mass." I'm referring to the point where enough people are infected with the virus that it can sustain a chain reaction and expand out of control.

The bad news is Ebola may have already reached critical mass and may now be impossible to contain. The economic and humanitarian implications of this are massive and it could change everything. More on why we should be very concerned in the article below.
