White House To Explain How, Despite Their Assurances, Ebola Came To America - Live Feed

Tyler Durden's picture

Despite President Obama's assurances that the chances of Ebola spreading to America were very small (against experts' opinion that it was about a 20% probability), "it" is here; and so we look forward to hearing from The White House top experts on how well "contained" it is (despite 100 under surveillance and another case in Hawaii and in Washington) and why there's no need for widespread panic.. at least not until the entire Government's 160,000 HazMat suit order is filled...

As NY Times reports,

Under mounting pressure over their handling of the Ebola crisis, White House officials are planning a Friday afternoon briefing to outline how the government is responding to the epidemic.

The 3:30 p.m. briefing will feature administration officials including:

  • Lisa Monaco, assistant to the president for homeland security and counterterrorism;
  • Sylvia Mathews Burwell, secretary of health and human services; and
  • Dr. Anthony S. Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases at the National Institutes of Health.

Press Conference is due to start at 1630ET...

"Wait until a TSA agent for flight attendant get Eboler - I wanna see the meticulous tracing on that. "

I'm sure that every single TSA Agent is being meticulously tested, temperature twice a day, sent home if any of the symptoms appear..

Why do I envision a massive expensive inconclusive congressional investigation and billions in government settlement/hush payouts.??

I guess we now need TSA screening for the inbound too?  No microwave machine, but rather a cotton swab circling your anus...  No further TSA training required...

How come India, China, Australia, Europe are not experiencing the Ebola invasion? Why is everything that is happening seems to revolve around the US?  Something very INSIDIOUS lurks behind the scenes.

Yeah, our governments tell us they have everything under control so that's good enough for me.

I had to chuckle about "the military is very good at execution," or words to that effect.

The government is basically incompetent anyway, and the Obama Administration is without a doubt the most incompetent administration in modern US history, so their assurances mean we should worry.

A brief montage of just a few highlights of the track record of those who offer great assurances: On 9/11 in NY, first responders were assured that there was no need for respirators. This was right after we were all assured we were in a new era, and internet stocks would never go down. You remember, right before we were told housing prices would never go down either. (OK, they can go down, but only for cheap houses/poor borrowers. It's contained to subprime). Greece's problems won't spread to the rest of Europe. If you give us 700 billion dollars, everything will be fine, otherwise we'll have no financial system at all, and martial law. The sailors on the USS Ronald Reagan who patrolled just offshore from Fukushima will fine, too. The ship was washed down with a power washer, just like that guy used on the sidewalk, so it's all good. The experts are in charge.

Fauci, I hate to break it to you but you are wrong. The US is ripe for a severe out of control ebola outbreak. All it's going to take is for a fast food worker at a big hub airport to get the disease and continue to work because he thought it was only a cold or the flu.  America may have better health infrastructure, but we also travel a good bit more, and have greater contacts.  Hospitals are not going to be able to isolate everyone that shows up to the ER with a viral syndrome or fever.  That type of patient complaint probably accounts for 20% of ER visits during cold or flu season.  What about at the pediatricians office? Now that the disease is here, patients with ebola may not have any specific history of west african travel, or known exposure.  It's going to be vary hard to pick out the ebola patient from the crowd, and keep them from spreading the disease further. What kind of resources are available to track patient contacts? What about when you are tracking contacts for 1000 cases?  I'm sorry, the faulty government notion that we can continue, even only occasionally, to allow illegal ebola refugees into this country with no consequences for Americans is reckless and absurd.  As you remember from the AIDS epidemic, it only took one guy.

We hope you're keeping a list of all the willingly participating directors, actors, stage hands and extras. The after party should be a blast. Maybe you can make the FEMA camps party central.

This criminally lying buffoon of a CDC chief has Obama's fist so far up his ass it's a wonder he can walk to work.

He actually said in an interview that it's better NOT to cancel the flights in from Primative Fruitbat Leone.

Then he refers questions about Dallas to "local authorities," who are busy pressure-washing ebola barf into the storm drains. There isn't so much as a Home Depot orange cone or a pair of latex gloves in sight.

If this thing takes off, this CDC bitch needs to spend the rest of his life in federal prison.

And we are at the point where Obama simply needs to step down.

Zero Confidence.

"Just Us" will be fine. The rest, not so much.

Just think of all the "issues" causing problems for "Just Us" and their government minions that will be solved by eliminating 100 million+ American citizens.

Then their statements and actions make a lot more sense.
