Thousands Sign Petition To Ban Flights From Ebola Countries; Two Removed From Newark Airplane By Hazmat Crew
Whether it is due to the sheer deferred Ebola panic (we warned in June it was only a matter of time before the "world's worst Ebola epidemic" made it to US shores, which promptly got us branded as fearmongers as usual), or the administration's bumbled attempt at damage control with a very confused and mostly pointless press conference on Friday afternoon, but three days ago, a petition was launched on the White House website demanding that the "FAA ban all incoming and outgoing flights to Ebola-stricken countries until the Ebola outbreak is contained." As of this moment, over 4,000 people have already signed it.
And while petitions are usually pointless exercise in public outcry, in this case the CDC already responded. As the Hill reports, a travel ban to the countries facing an Ebola outbreak could paradoxically make the problem worse, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Director Tom Frieden said during a Saturday press conference.
Paradoxically indeed? Let's listen to Mr. Frieden's arguments:
Frieden said the CDC would consider any and all precautions, but warned that a travel ban could make it harder to get medical care and aid workers to regions dealing with the outbreak.
He said that had already occurred when African Union aid workers tried to get to Liberia but were stuck in a neighboring country for days because of a travel ban.
"Their ability to get there was delayed by about a week because their flight was canceled and they were stuck in a neighboring country," he said.
But isn't it mostly US troops deployed in Africa now, sent on a mission to shoot the Ebola virus on sight, instead of "medical care and aid workers" who are now the primary respondents to the world's worst Ebola epidemic in history? Guess not.
Frieden also said the CDC has experienced a spike in reported potential cases of Ebola following the first diagnosis of a patient in the U.S. in Dallas earlier this week, saying the rise in concern was a good thing but that he remained the only patient who has been identified as suffering from the disease. Two patients who were initially identified as having potential Ebola symptoms in the Washington, D.C. area were ruled to not have the disease on Saturday.
"We have definitely seen an increase in the number since this patient was diagnosed… that is as it should be," Frieden said. "We have already gotten well over 100 inquiries for possible patients… this one patient has tested positive," he said. "We expect we will see more rumors, concerns, possibilities of cases. Until there is a positive test that's what they are, rumors and concerns."
So, after ignoring the problem for months, the CDC finally has precisely what it was hoping to achieve: panic? Great job guys.
Frieden also said there were lesons to be learned from the delayed response to the Ebola patient in Dallas. It took two days for those who had been in contact with him to be contacted by medical officials, and Frieden said that should alert medical professionals to pay especially close attention to patients' travel history if they're showing signs of fever.
"As we anticipated, the arrival of the first Ebola patient in the U.S. has really increased attention to what health workers in this country need to do to be alert and make sure a travel history is taking," he said.
And speaking of inbound cases of fever, moments ago ABC reported that CDC officials have removed passengers from a plane that landed in Newark Saturday afternoon following a possible Ebola scare.
United flight 998 from Brussels landed at Newark Airport and has been met by Centers for Disease Control officials based in Newark after passengers on board, believed to be from Liberia, exhibited possible signs of Ebola. The passenger was displaying flu-like symptoms.
The flight was scheduled to land around noon.
Officials with the CDC removed two passengers from the plane. A man had been traveling with his daughter and both were removed by a CDC crew in full HAZMAT gear.
The airline issued a statement confirming that crew needed to assist an ill customer. "Upon arrival at Newark Airport from Brussels, medical professionals instructed that customers and crew of United flight 988 remain on board until they could assist an ill customer. We are working with authorities and will accommodate our customers as quickly as we can," said a statement from the airline." Other passengers remained aboard but were eventually allowed to deplane around 2 p.m.
A scare which promptly concluded when within the hour, CDC officials determined that the people exhibiting flu-like symptoms were, in fact, not contagious.
Passengers being allowed off United flight 998 upon @CDCgov determined person in question not contagious. @ABC7NY #Ebola
— Darla Miles (@DarlaMiles7) October 4, 2014
Finally, as a reminder, Newark is about 20 miles form Manhattan, although those looking for a real dramatic impact should wait until the Ebola scare touches down at JFK. At the current pace of spread, of the Ebola panic if not Ebola itself, it should be a rather short wait.

For whatever it's worth I signed the petition. Watching now for a black sedan to show up outside the house. NSA prolly watched me fill out the form.
Use a .308.
Consider a semi-auto 12-gauge and wait until they are inside your fenceline....otherwise you will go to prison. Use the .308 for long range only if the SHTF, then the AR-15 or whatever you like inside of 200 yards, IMHO.
.308, regardless of range . . . from your property . . . when you feel your life is threatened. I'm assuming readers are not murderers. Dont use the firearm unless you feel your life in in danger. Duh. If you assess and conclude your life IS in danger. dont waste mental bandwidth on legality. Congress managed to contravene due process via the NDAA, 2012. This, plus all the illegality going on with the IRS, Fast'n'Furious, FISA courts/warrantless wiretapping, and immigration suggests only chumps follow the law, unless it is convenient. A .308 will punch through the common classes of body armor, and in the unlikely event the individual wishing you dead is wearing a plate, the .308 center-mass strike will knock 'em over long enough for you to re-assess the threat.
I concur that a .308 is better against body armor, and I'm happy to own one. However, if the round is leaving your property and society has not broken down, you're responsible for that round. I'm not an attorney and I don't work for government, but my frustration with their policies is not a reason to give up my freedom.
12 gauge 1 oz. slug 3 inch mag trumps 308 against body armor.
That fuck will be knocked out long enough to scalp.
12 gauge is versatile, simple and effective. I have a SCAR H and M1As. They are great if I do my part. But if it ever gets ugly in the house or the neighborhood, I'll be slinging a 12 gauge Keltec KSG with a .45 sidearm. I look at my rifles as the go to when I decide home needs to be somewhere else...and fast.
You have to be some kind of a moron to argue that in 1800 abolitionists sent slaves there, named it Liberia and we owe it to them and that in reverse limiting flights would make it impossible for us to help and make it worse. If that's the best critical thinking skills someone has we would be better off governed by a group of chimpanzees.
would be? You ever been to D.C.?
ruthless resymbolism
Just signed it, but now wondering if that will put me in the government crosshairs. Oh well. Done.
everybody passes from this earth. the question is what good did you do while you were here? quarantine for now seems like a good idea. atleast to give us more time to figure out what the reality of the situation is.
I'm a happy loner, so quarantining myself with my books, laptop and food storage sounds like a good time. Your comments, yesterday, about cold weather enabling the ebola virus ... gave me pause, for winter is soon to arrive. Where I live -- at 7k altitude -- cold breezes-to-gales blow down the mountain, to where most people live, not up the mountain, to where I live. Perhaps I'm safe bunkered at home.
In the grocery store, yesterday, everything seemed so humdrum and typical. Home Depot had few customers, but that seems the new normal there (short HD?) Across from HD is a Red Robin restaurant with a dozen or people who were waiting outside for a table. No panic evident.
So, an honest response to the question you now ask, "What good did you do while you were here?" would include going down the mountain, among the people. Here, I'm selfishly contented, but not doing any "good," if goodness is measured in what you give to others, or give back to society.
Dumb hapless Merikans signing a petition to stop certain airline flights. Ha! None of your rat-faced biz what your central gov't does. Open borders; a Party and Presidential public welcome to millions of 3rd world reconquistidors, and some silly proles signing a cyber plea. Get bent and Mooo! What do real freedom lovers do in Hong Kong?
At least 6 certifiably gullible and probably non primary voting, non election voting, non contacting Rep/Senators, non cash contributing, non writing the editor sheeple.
You get what you get, take responsibility.
Bleat?
Petition websites are the future...
"Please don't car-jack me."
You're right. The Israeli 5th Column is still more dangerous than ebola.
Hedge accordingly.
You people who think you're going to get Ebola are fucking cowards.
Wish Miffed was here. She would tear your ugly ass apart better than I could.
Just go back to your Nascar champ's hopes and asian porn and we'll all feel better.
a coward stays in their denial. the people here want the truth, even if its an ugly truth. so the people here have courage.
And most of us hate your zio-banker puppet bamster.. We are bad people obviously. You, you are good as you are all for the utopia at the end of the train cars full of bodies..
Well at least we may finally have a use for that fuel-air bomb technology. Don't wanna use nukes on our own soil, you know.
We took the land from the natives after using smallpox-infected blankets. Now they're taking it back by sending us Ebola-infected Negros.
Such an old tired lie, propagated by lying liberals, Pocahontas warren tell you that one pal..
Seriously, we had slavery...ended...helped ship a shitload of them back to what is now called "Liberia"..and then they ship one of theirs off to kill us all of us off.
Kind of ironc cosmic humor, no?
The least they could do is be good guinea pigs for our biologic weapons testing lab.
Hey Calmyourself, take a look at this.

Ah ha! Yep, I was right!
It says right here on page 973 of the Obamacare law that Ebola IS COVERED as long as the patient dies.
So if you die, you're covered. Ain't that great?
Yeah....covered with dirt.
First, totally agree must stop all air traffic to/from the sick regions, and maybe those near the Ebola zones.
On the other side of this...setting up case law now.
If you get Ebola and somehow "know" and no one helps you, then you are criminal.
Just one step away from
IF YOU GET EBOLA YOU ARE CRIMINAL AND WILL BE PUNISHED.
Never let a crisis go to waste ? Ebola camps around the corner.
Dallas DA Considers Charges Against Foreign Ebola Patienthttp://dfw.cbslocal.com/2014/10/03/dallas-da-considers-charges-against-f...
Frieden's paradoxical, I'm smarter than you, argument is the biggest load of horse shit I've ever heard. What a complete buffoon. This idiot is going to end up creating a stampede of ebola refugees heading for America, and I wonder who will be picking up the tab? We'll be paying with blood and treasure. Sounds like that criminal Duncan is racking up quite a bill that I'm sure he won't be paying. Duncan, if he survives, should be fast against the wall for putting millions at risk with his lying.
When I hear the term Ebola, I keep hearing that song from the late 70's: My Sharona. It would be a great parody song.
You mean kind of like this?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tNKVWFdhQUQ
This Ebola story has real legs. My first posts a few months back on the subject were mainly pointing to Air Travel and the increasing likelihood that ebola would arrive on an international airline flight from infected nations. Of course this is just what happened with Mr. Ebola #1. He was sick with Ebola soon after arrival, sought help, said he was from Ebola country to a nurse in the ER, then he was promptly given an anti biotic, which does nothing for viral infections, and was put out on the street. He returned to a very crowed apartment complex in a poverty stricken neighborhood where english is hardly spoken and even spanish is not much used! So, that one panned out just like I guessed, and many other guessed, it would. The most expensive health care system on earth, with thousands of warnings of the Ebola epidemic do a world class FAIL, and charged a world class set of bills for that failure.
Now here is where it gets nasty. American government says we may not stop air traffic coming in from ebola infected countries on any account. Now you have millions of Africans stuck in Ebola country as things spiral downwards. Many are coming in contact with Ebola infected every day. It's hard not to! Some % of these Africans are literate and possess enough money to pay for an airline ticket. Amoung the hundreds of those who fear exposure or even infection, who among them would not consider getting out to the EU or America while they are still well, and if all turns out okay, they can go back to Africa anytime. The incentive is MASSIVE, for an exposed African with sufficient funds to seek to get to the EU or America while flights are flying and knowing full well that if they come down with Ebola, America will offer them world class free treatment and even the media will make them out to be heros. Who could resist the temptation to book that flight and get out? I believe that already planes are flying in just such people. Middle Class Africans who fear Ebola, who fear they were exposed, some even who know they might be infected.
Think about it. Why would they NOT fly here, they know the welcome mat is out, no flights are stopped and free medical care is here waiting for them. US taxpayers have unlimited money to spend on Africans with ebola/ Mr. Ebola #1 has set a precident others will follow.
They'll need a visa or a fake/borrowed passport, and there are less expensive destinations if they merely want to escape the threat. Looks like Duncan had a visa, and caught the virus while awaiting his flight date. If he had marched straight into a hospital upon arrival and flat out told the ER staff in no uncertain terms that he had been exposed to ebola, I might almost feel sorry for the bastard.
How many Muslims out there might there be who'd be willing to get this virus with the intent of spreading it in the US? Europe?
Suicide bleeders. TM
As many available as would strap on a bomb vest.
How many Israelis or diaspora sayanim would be willing to do so while also framing Arabs or Muslims?
The Lavon Affair ain't just a false fla in Egypt...
"Why would they NOT fly here"
Most of those who could afford to leave would have already left by now, wouldn't you say? I know I'd have been long gone by now if I had the means.
Maybe it's just the stragglers at this point? Sure hope so.
Since the Ebola outbreak, the rich Nigerian princess that wanted to give me her virginity and millions has not written. I hope she did not catch ebola. If she did, I hope it was just the 24 hour stomach ebola kind, and that she gets well soon.
The above petition is from the whitehouse to recruit email addresses for campaigning.
Bingo!
I encourage a petition be created to have CONgress critters be given a first-class junket to Liberia to study the situation with boots on the ground. Feinstein, Boxer, Pelozi, et al. Get busy now.
And perhaps it is time for another Michelle O vacation to Africa.
For 2 years....or more...
Let's see the Prez and Friedan put their money where their mouths are. Let them send their families and friends to the ebola countries with no special precautions and prove how hard it is to contract the disease.
Forget that. No flights out of Sierra Leone and Liberia, enforced by a no fly zone.
It had to come down to a petition? I wonder if those 2 people who powerwashed the puke signed it.

Also, checkout the book 'The Hot Zone' by Richard Preston if you really want to know the truth about Ebola and other similar diseases rated as level 4 by USAMRIID. Here are a few excerpts:
'The Ebola virus kills nine out of ten of its victims so quickly and gruesomely that even biohazard experts are terrified. It is airborne, it is extremely contagious, and in the winter of 1989, it seemed about to burn through the suburbs of Washington D.C.
At Fort Detrick’s USAMRIID, an Army research facility outside the nation’s capital, a SWAT team of soldiers and scientists wearing biohazard space suits was organized to stop the outbreak of the exotic “hot” virus. The grim operation went on in secret for eighteen days, under unprecedented, dangerous conditions.'
'The headache begins, typically, on the seventh day after exposure to the agent. On the seventh day after his New Year’s visit to Kitum cave-January 8, 1980-Monet felt a throbbing pain behind his eyeballs. He decided to stay home from work and went to bed in his bungalow. The headache grew worse. His eyeballs ached, and then his temples began to ache, the pain seeming to circle around inside his head. It would not go away with aspirin, and then he got a severe backache. His housekeeper, Johnnie, was still on her Christmas vacation, and he had recently hired a temporary housekeeper. She tried to take care of him, but she really didn’t know what to do. Then, on the third day after his headache started, he became nauseated, spiked a fever, and began to vomit. His vomiting grew intense and turned into dry heaves. At the same time, he became strangely passive. His face lost all appearance of life and set itself into an expressionless mask, with the eyeballs fixed, paralytic, and staring. The eyelids were slightly droopy, which gave him a peculiar appearance, as if his eyes were popping out of his head and half closed at the same time. The eyeballs themselves seemed almost frozen in their sockets, and they turned bright red. The skin of his face turned yellowish, with a brilliant starlike red speckles. He began to look like a zombie. His appearance frightened the temporary housekeeper. She didn’t understand the transformation in this man. His personality changed. He became sullen, resentful, angry, and his memory seemed to be blown away. He was not delirious. He could answer questions, although he didn’t seem to know exactly where he was.'
'When a hot virus multiplies in a host, it can saturate the body with virus particles, from the brain to the skin. The military experts then say that the virus has undergone “extreme amplification.” This is not something like the common cold. By the time an extreme amplification peaks out, an eyedropper of the victim’s blood may contain a hundred million particles. In other words, the host is possessed by a life form that is attempting to convert the host into itself. The transformation is not entirely successful, however, and the end result is a great deal of liquefying flesh mixed with virus, a kind of biological accident. Extreme amplification has occurred in Monet, and the sign of it is the black vomit.'
Sounds like if Ebola was religious it would be Muslim..
I guess you never read the Old Testament or Torah....

“Ultimately, we are all connected by the air we breathe.” – CDC Director Tom Frieden (@ 4:28 mark here)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rplrH8TQYjY
Written to the lead reporter of the NY Daily News who wrote about the story:
I enjoyed your reporting on the airline passenger taken off the flight in NJ.
Some points I hope you and your editors will consider:
1) Notice that the CDC HazMat-suited people lack face guards. That is a major error on the CDC's part, and raises questions about their competency - despite all the tough talk from Homeland Security and the CDC two days ago.
(No they don't know how to handle out-in-the-wild infections because they haven't handled any cases besides the one in Dallas - who was the idiot that authorized using a pressure washer to clean off the vomit from the sidewalk/parking lot - turning it into an aerosol mist that went everywhere, and did the sprayers wear HazMat suits, or did they expose themselves to breathing in the aerosol?; and when the HS spokesperson said, "And we'll do it again" - do what again? You haven't ever done anything like this crisis yet. In short, what tough-talking blowhard liars.)
2) Anybody bother to ask why no pictures?
3) The airport lied when it told passengers they were safe from infection. Why? Because there was not enough time to analyze the infection of the man to see if it is Ebola. You and your paper have some very serious decisions to make about how much unadulterated lying you will accept in your stories without calling them out as liars. We are talking life and death here - you have a moral responsibility to humanity itself to pull the plug on these government liars and destroy them as spokespersons. Your failure to do that will contribute to the continued distrust that is "epidemic" in America - both of government - and of yourselves, if all you’re going to be is messengers forwarding lies to your readers.
4) The length of time it took to get passengers off the plane demonstrates that the airport is nowhere near ready for Ebola. Again, you have a moral responsibility to humanity to call them out on it, and stop their lies from going out to the public - unchallenged. Yes, you have to report what they say - NO, you don't have to fail to write the next graph explicitly blowing the spokespeople, and their lies, out of the water.
5) What was done to sanitize the ambulance after transporting the patient? Was it used again, possibly infecting others?
6) Why aren't the pictured EMTs in HazMat suits? Who is the irresponsible party that put their life into danger like that? The person(s) responsible for that must to called out and removed from making any further decisions about handling Ebola. He/she/they are an immediate danger to society.
I could go on - but you should, by now, get the idea. You are going either to pull the plug on these liars and refuse to print their lies without showing them to be lies - in which case the blood is on your hands also - or you are going to regain the trust of America by refusing to let them lie without penalty.
Do you, and your news colleagues, have the guts to do that?
If not, don't whine when your family and friends start dropping dead because you, and the newsroom, are cowards.
-30-
I'm surprised that these .gov zombies weren't taking selfies while in the process and updating their Facebook pages. Maybe that will come out later.
Excellent post! Yes they should be called out for their sheer bought out and paid for pathology of what stands for "news" these days. Un fucking believable. What got me was the rag tag, " You'll get $50 off your rent this month and a case of bud" workers that were hosing the vomit off to the atmosphere...and anyone near.
Fun times.
So, the "stepdaughter" went shopping at WalMart for a blanket.
How many germs did she spread around there? How many WalMart shoppers came in contact with those germs? How many of these people went home home and hugged their kids and then sent them off to school the next day...and on and on..
No more flights should be allowed into or out of DFW..but too late, they have been for days...all over ..
Literally going viral..
.... So, you are saying buy the airlines first thing Monday?
In the past I signed a couple petitions on 'We The People'. After waiting weeks/months I got a canned response that did not address the intent of the petition. They basically said fuck you citizen. Don't waste your time. No doubt it got me on yet another watch list.
I have also sent emails to my representatives. They were nice enough to not say 'fuck you' but again the responses were canned and I started getting inundated with requests for money so they could defeat the evil other party in the upcoming election. More wasted time including redirecting their subsequent money grubbing emails to my deleted folder.
We are back to our forefathers complaint... Taxation without representation.
I used to give to the Republican Party. They do love their call lists! I used to hang up on them. Lately they've been hanging up on me! It's waaay more fun that way and I highly recommend it!
Start with explaining "All politicians are liars, psychopaths and Federal Reserve whores." Then chant, "Graham, Boehner, McCain are crimin-al-ly insane!" See how many times you can say it before they hang up on you. I do it in a cute cheerleader voice. It seems to confuse them and I get in another line or two.
One time I went into a long involved story about the Globe Trotters always playing against the Generals, and how they both split the ticket sales and concessions. But the caller missed the point and assured me that the RNC stood for family values too. heh.
Sooo, anyone have a nice Ebola chant yet? Or should I just sing it out, loud and proud, like the Ricola commercials?
Why would you petition the Executive Branch, who represents the government, when the People's voice reside within the House of Representatives?
The white house is trolling for politically minded emails for the next campaign.
The White House of a Socialist loves and adores the thought of it being all three branches in one, and the real other two being nothing more than its rubber stamp or a powerless punk.
I am sadly still acculturated to thinking someone anyone in the exec. branch may actually care about American lives, I know I am a fool but breaking the programming has taken some time. I'm feeling better now, I think I'll go for a walk..
Listen.

See, if y'all did your revolution back when you had the chance, you wouldn't be sittting here now trembling in fear begging govt to do the right thing.
But it wasn't time yet. Things weren't bad enough. We still have some of our rights. Voting still works.
Now all you can do is vote on petitions. Wow, like that's gonna make 'em straighten up.
Whatever happens on the ebola thing, I have no sympathy for you. You had the chance to set things right and you pissed it away.
Now you're stuck. No chance of any revolution now. Forget it.
400 million guns? So what? You're sitting here begging govt to do the right thing. That's what I see.
earthships, food forests, community, compassion. you mean that kind of revo?
You are right to be sarcastic. Democracy fails when everyone gets to vote for other's money. We will have a cleansing war sooner or later. The later, the bigger.
Nope, no cleansing war, just serfdom.
Psssssst, don't look now, but you already are.
ebola as hardy as influenza a. colder weather allows ebola to live longer in the air. not airborn in Africa because of warmer weather. ebola not hindered by human skin. quarantine before its too late.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WaNsXJfcTr4
I was hoping that the beginning of cooler weather -- for us in the snow states, anyway -- corresponded with a decrease in danger from ebola.
So you're telling us that winter causes it to last/live LONGER in the air? Why is this the case? I don't understand why warm weather would cause ebola to spread faster.
Please expand this post, In the Beginning.
Thanks.
Can't get youtube to work.
hmmm.. maybe copy the link, go to yt and paste? best wishes. the more awake people we have, the better our chances of survival. potrblog puts it out.
the link explaikns it better.
the yt vid purports that this info comes from the center for aerobiological sciences US medical research institute of infectious diseases. cold weather allows viruses to survive longer in the air. this is why flue season is in the winter. ebola is as hardy as the flue. ebola virus goes right through human skin. therefore ebola can have the transmission characteristics of influenza-a. while having the lethality of ebola. it will actually be more transmisable than influenza-a because it goes through the skin, whearas influenza-a affects the lungs. ebola is a level 4 bio safety hazard. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Biosafety_level it is not compareable to our common experience threats.
Boodles, the angle oif the sun gives less UV wavelengths which are deadly to airborne virus. All about the UV.
Wow. That is terrible news, if correct.
Current malaria annual deaths per year are about 627,000 from an annual total infection of 287 million infected humans. Vector: mosquito.

Ebola particles are much longer lasting out of the body in cold weather. This is the same for influenza-a. Thats why there is a flue season. Coughing or sneezing make the particles airborn. Africa has no winter, but most of the first world does have winter. This is bothersome.
Well, wish me luck. I'm heading off tomorrow night on a flight from SFO to Connecticut, on a United flight (yes, really), through Dulles (yes, really). In order to stay for a couple of days at Yale New Haven Hospital (yes, really) with a family member who is having serious surgery done that can't be put off.
I guess if I catch ebola now, I'll actually get treatment. Unlike the people who catch it in a few months, who will probably get nothing. Of course, if I survive, everyone will be wanting my blood for serum.
Ugh.
Let us know when you've returned safely, Karen.
Thank you. If I see anything interesting or relevant while I am there, I will try to post while I am there, to get info out sooner rather than later. I was there about two months ago for the first part of this operation, and so I can compare the atmosphere in the hospital then, with what it will be like this coming week. I wonder if people there will be behaving differently.
Best of luck. Take what precautions you can. I am interested in what you will see at the airports. I expect a lot of people will not be travelling.
I actually wanted to go see a movie today but then I thought "What if someone was on Duncan's flight is going to the same movie?". It's a one in a million, I know, but why bother at all? I happen to live near one of the cities where Duncan's plane landed and right now is about the right incubation period IF he was shedding virus on the plane.
Our best hope was that he was not and we get lucky. That still leaves Dallas in the soup but it is more manageable than this thing getting to the airport.
wear a p100 mask or better, and a hazmat full body suit.
Will Ebola be as serious as the swine flu?
As serious as avian flu?
As serious as Y2K?
YOWSA - this is scary stuff!
going into ebola land ok. But, comming out of ebola land you must submit to atleast a 21 day quarantine. if this thing spreads like the flue then we had better be prepared.
Can stupid people do smart things ?
Yes .

With something like Ebola , Draconian measures are called for .
See what happened before :

Even now , entering the http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_Bottom without hazmat suits is unwise .

This is so fucking obvious.
zh said he would screw this up. I didn't believe them. Guess s m h t f.
To date, ALL American health workers that contracted Ebola in Africa have been flown to the US and SURVIVED. Based on WHO numbers from 9/29, the mortality rate amongst Africans is 68%. So, if you are a Liberian with a few thousand in the bank and you want to survive, what would you do? Answer: GET OUT.
If the government does not ban the flights from effected countries boycott the airlines making the flights possible until they stop!
Just stop all flying. There is the person up thread explaining, has to fly for a family emergency. Understandable, but otherwise don't fly.
Video upthread referencing Ft. Detrich, MD work says its already as airborne as infuenze A. Exposure has been kept down in tropical Africa because viruses stay alive longer in cold climates. That's why we have a flu season.
The head of the CDC....why couldn't we get the guy from The Walking Dead? Instead....this clown
http://thehill.com/policy/healthcare/219786-cdc-director-travel-ban-coul...
What they need is Hershel, but the Walking Dead bastards killed him off ISIS-style. Bah.
"why couldn't we get the guy from The Walking Dead? Instead"
Because the Walking Dead guy maybe doesn't have dual-citizenship which is part of the job req for this stage of the American Takedown.
PICTURE AND Consider this (not many of you understand this), if we were to close off US gates to Ebola infested countries in Africa, it would just put off the situation and make it worse around the globe (It would also SCARE THE FLYING FUCK OUT OF FOREIGNERS). EX: People residing in these Ebola infested African countries would instead spread to other countries: Asia, Europe, Middle East, South America, ETC. America would still stay closed off and reserved from this situation BUT, since Ebola has spread like wildfire to every single other COUNTRY there will be NO SANCTUARY LEFT, NO DEVELOPED UNINFESTED country left as a SANCTUARY EXCEPT for the USA (This will SCARE the living fuck out of people and foreigners living in other countries other than the US because they will feel that the US isolating them and refusing to HELP THEM / OPEN BORDERS = COMFORT FOR THE PEOPLE IN INFECTED COUNTRIES. OPEN BORDERS = NOTHING IS SUPER SERIOUS YET AND WE ARE STILL OKAY BECAUSE THE BORDERS ARE OPEN AND WE CAN STILL LEAVE (but they put this off because people are just NATURAL OLIGOPHRENICS. CLOSED BORDERS = TIME TO FUCKING FREAK OUT! CLOSED BORDERS = THIS IS NOW GETTING SO DAMN SERIOUS THAT THEY'RE CLOSING BORDERS AND NOW WE HAVE TO FUCKING MIGRATE NOW ILLEGALLY!!! This would INSTANTANEOUSLY LEAD to the ILLEGAL influx of immigrants from these Ebola infested countries: China, Russia, All of Europe, Middle East, ETC. INTO THE USA. The USA would instantaneously suffer from a LARGE influx of illegal immigrants INFESTED with EBOLA into the USA (because it is the LAST SANCTUARY ON EARTH). We would instantaneously be suffering from overpopulation by illegals from ALL OVER THE GLOBE: China, Russia, All of Europe, Africa, South America, Middle East, ETC, ETC, ETC.
The US (by keeping it's borders open to QUALIFIED INDIVIDUALS) helps to STOP AND PREVENT THE SITUATION OF THE SUDDEN INFLUX OF MILLIONS OF EBOLA INFESTED PEOPLE AND IMMIGRANTS INTO THE USA IF IT WERE TO KEEP IT'S BORDERS OPEN.
This is why I stand with the current policy now (Which involves open borders for qualified individuals), because closing our borders would only make it harder for US and for OTHERS.
the motivation to escape into countries with better medical care already exists because the survival rate is higher in countries with advanced medical care. it would be better to bring the advanced medical care to them. closing off the borders still makes sense because of the possibility of airborn transmission in colder climates. ebola is a level 4 biohazard. in ebola's native environment people deal with ebola by quarantining suspected infection and then burning the house where they died. i remember this from some pbs show i saw years ago.
it makes sense to allow people into ebola contaigion areas, but if you want to leave the you have to pass a 21day quarantine. i'm thinking of ebola as an invasive species new to the rest of the world, and it has the power to impact us in a major way.
some people say that the black death jump started the industrial revolution because of the scarcity of people. i hope we respond intelligently, effectively, quickly, and compassionately.
So, let me ask this even though it is at the end of the posts. If you realized you had the ebola virus...and I mean not just the fever, but the bleeding from everywhere...how many of you would just make some quick exit from this life?
I suppose if you get it first you can get to the hospital but if it becomes an epidemic your call will go unanswered. You will then have several really really bad options.
"The hospital issued a news release late Friday saying that the doctor who initially treated Duncan did have access to his travel history after all".
If only he had known that Liberia is in Africa...
So you cannot board a plsane to the US if you are a Communist, or have a conviction, or are a terrorist suspect (excluding IRA or Irgun or Stern Gang or Saudi) or cannot whistle Yankee Doodle Dandy, but you can sit anywhere on the plane if you look under the weather and know how to say "Ebola ? No I speak White English"
Now why do Americans keep all that military hardware abroad ? Oh, it is because the Russians might claim ownership of Crimea theirs since 1781 and not sell it to the US Navy like they did with Alaska, theirs since 1784
me i would ban all flights from africa. stop screwing around. but will that happen. why yes when its too late ha ha to help
lets be real here. if this thing is truly contaigous there is no stopping it what u do. ban travel from affected countries. how about from canada or mexico where those coming in have been in contact with someone from an affected country. now all those fema camps and rounds of ammunition to the social security offices makes sense ha ha. there wont be a social security problem any more ha ha all over age 60 will be gone . there will be a s.s. surplus ha ha . if its truly contaigous in todays world there is no stopping it. and its showing up now imo is no accident. time to start ticking off items on that bucket list. into the woods i say at least bigfoot is probably immune to this thing
Slowing it down is a good idea for many reasons.
Woman in Kansas City, ex-Nigeria, quarantined along with whole apt building. Symptomatic, went to hospital, tested negative, came back feeling worse. Nobidy's saying she's positive - could be a true negative. But she's quarantined.
Ebola Survivor Dr. Rick Sacra Admitted to Worcester Hospital
http://www.boston.com/news/local/massachusetts/2014/10/04/umass-memorial...
Massachusetts physician Dr. Rick Sacra, who had been successfully treated for Ebola, has been admitted to UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester Saturday night for signs of pneumonia, according to multiple reports.
Sacra, who lives in Holden, contracted the disease in August while working at an obstetrics clinic in Liberia. He was successfully treated at Nebraska Medical Center and released.
Sacra was taken to a Boston-area emergency room Saturday with a low-grade cough and a fever and was then transferred to UMass Memorial, NECN reported.
News of Sacra’s condition was released hours after the hospital confirmed that another patient is undergoing medical evaluation after showing possible signs of Ebola.
Big pharma at work. Once in their clutches, one never gets out. Fix this problem, create two more. Endless profit.
A jungle or a forest is an adequate pharmacy if you know what's what.
Banning flights from Africa could save a lot of lives.
But this might offend the holy and magical negro.
Therefore, this proposition is totally unacceptable.
royal:
"But this might offend the holy and magical negro.
Therefore, this proposition is totally unacceptable."
perhaps, but the fact of the matter is it would give discredit to the idea of One World Government and open borders. NWO is what is protected at the risk of the nations health. Evil bastards.
I love the sound of sheep being herded in the morning.
Ebola airborn. Only level 4 containment quarantine will stop it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vOVhlWuCzyM. and http://quizlet.com/2668893/the-hot-zone-questions-flash-cards/.
im actually looking into hazmat wear that i can use at work.
And after all the trillions spent on Homeland Insecurity, how many level 4 hospital beds are there?
19.
That's right. 19.
President Ebola, the destroyer of all life.
why hasn't ebola swept through Africa?
"i think the main reason ebola hasn't spread as a hugh epidemic across Africa is because ebola is too hot. What i mean is that the virus kills its host too quickly to do any sort of damage. In Africa, the villages are pretty far apart from each other and the people live very close together. Ebola will kill the whole village before it can infect another village."
http://quizlet.com/2668893/the-hot-zone-questions-flash-cards/
We are the village because we live so close together and are very interconnected. Time to quarantine and get less connected.

Good interview with Peter Piot, discoverer of Ebola.

Excellent interview with the real McCoy--the opposite of the CDC whoreism we've been getting.
This is interesting, I just went to the "WE the People" site and the count of signatures for the petition to stop flights from west Africa is 420, what gives?
Someone said last night that there are five different petitions about the same thing.
There are and the gross grammatical errors show just how stupid we are as a country. It's tough to take a petition seriously if it is written at sophomoric levels.
Yes, you are right. I just counted 6 petitions. Just signed them all
yup 5 or 6, biggest one has 12,000 plus as of this am.
I can't believe anyone would put there real name or email addy out in public on the interwebs. I get too much spam as it is with my fake persona.
The petition to keep Mexican illegals out of the country sure worked well, there are 40 year-old Mexican Illegals in grammar schools all across the fruited plane.
And don't forget the "Investigate 9/11 petition".
Petitions are a metric to measure sheep-thinking.
And what exactly are the petitioners trying to preserve – Detroit? The EBT computer system?
I put on a rubber before I even read this one
You have to also ban flights that connected, and ban anyone who visited Ebolaland
"We the sheeple..."
