Spanish Ebola-Infected Nurse Is First Case Of Contagion Out Of Africa; Salzburg Activates Ebola Emergency Response
By now it should be clear to everyone that any myth that the Ebola epidemic, which has clearly gone global, is contained is about as real as the S&P 500 at 2000. And if it isn't, the latest confirmation came moments ago from BBC which reports that a Spanish nurse who treated an Ebola victim in Madrid has contracted the virus herself in the first case of contagion outside Africa, health officials say. What is different about this case is that the nurse contracted the virus in Madrid while she was part of the team that treated Spanish priest Manuel Garcia Viejo, who died of Ebola on 25 September, despite being treated with the same drug regiment that previous is said to have worked on US Ebola patients.
The priest died in the hospital Carlos III de Madrid after catching Ebola in Sierra Leone. He was the second: another Spanish priest, Miguel Pajares, died in August after contracting the virus in Liberia.
The nurse was admitted to hospital on Monday morning with a high fever, Spanish newspaper El Pais said. Doctors isolated the emergency treatment room, the report said.
Once again questions emerge just how the virus is transmitted, because if the nurse, who obviously took every possible precation against the world's most dangerous virus that is supposedly non-airborne, contracted it, then it clearly leads to speculation that Ebola may be transmitted by means other than what the population is being told.
And while the media will surely try to downplay the seriousness of this latest contagtion, it will likely fail:
- SPANISH HEALTH OFFICIAL SAYS HEALTH WORKER WITH EBOLA STARTED TO FEEL SICK ON SEPT. 30
- SPAIN MONITORING 30 MED STAFF WHO WORKED WITH EBOLA PATIENT
- SPAINISH EBOLA PATIENT ENTERED ORIGINAL PATIENT'S ROOM TWICE
- SPAIN EBOLA PATIENT POSS HAD CONTACT W/OTHERS BEFORE SYMPTOMS
But the punchline:
- SPANISH HEALTH OFFICIAL SAYS HEALTH WORKER WITH EBOLA WENT ON HOLIDAY THE DAY AFTER SPANISH PRIEST DIED AND HAS BEEN ON HOLIDAY EVER SINCE
Well, good luck finding everyone she interacted with.
And if that wasn't enough, perhaps the safest and sleepiest city in the world, Mozart's birthplace, Salzburg, hours ago activated its emergency Ebola response after a 15 year old refugee from Liberia was exhibiting Ebola-like signs. From German ORF google-translated:
In the Salzburg State Hospital, a 15-year-old from Liberia is examined for the Ebola virus infection. The young man was picked up on Monday night at the Wals. He claimed to have escaped alone.
In the Salzburg Federal Clinics (SALK) Monday had therefore first the existing emergency plan for the handling of a suspected Ebola are capitalized: The young refugee from Liberia had been taken up in a Flachgauer community. Since Liberia is a country affected by Ebola area, the young man was admitted immediately for evaluation in the country's hospitals. This was confirmed in the evening Salzburg hospital and health speaker Governor Deputy Governor Christian Stöckl (ÖVP).
And cue panic prevention mode:
"It is absolutely too early to speak of a suspected case. The patient must first be examined for possible symptoms throughout. However, the emergency plan has been activated as a precaution in the Salzburg Regional Hospital, and the case is treated as a suspected case. It has paid off, that a meticulous contingency plan for the entire country and in the state hospital in an Ebola-Team was established in the fall of last year by the Regional Health Directorate. The probability that there is an Ebola patient in the refugee may be small, but we have taken all measures to be fully prepared. The crisis team has gathered in a short time and will advise the next steps, resulting from the initial examination of the patient, "said Stoeckl.
Finally, all this is happening as America's own Ebola patient, Thomas Duncan, is in deteriorating, critical condition.

They have stopped counting you moron.
Just like the BLS here, we might even have given the idea.
Problem, what problem ?
The map in WHO's Oct. 3 situation report shows that in many areas, there have been no new infections in the past 21 days, and only in one area was there the introduction of ebola where there had not been cases prevously. Assuming the data is reasonably accurate, my take away was that it is hopefully starting to wane. That said, if it becomes easier to transmit, all bets are off.
http://apps.who.int/iris/bitstream/10665/135765/1/roadmapupdate3oct14_eng.pdf?ua=1
It is not accurate. They are turning away MOST people at the ebola centers. WHO has openly stated their official numbers are AT LEAST 2-3 times under reported.
I'll try to find a link but I did hear something on the radio the other day suggesting that people are dying before they can get tested which is causing the number of reported cases to decrease.
The contagion rate is a 2 and the incubation period is less than or no more than 21 days.....
That means that the number of cases double every three weeks or even faster.... and in three weeks, more people will die from the virus than the total number that had it 3 weeks ago.
I live outside Dallas and, I'm not worried about that case... I'll be worried when it gets to Mexico... we won't be able to do contact tracing on illegals so easily.... also with cold and flu season coming and ebola having the same symptoms as the flu... there's a lot more potential for missing cases and contacts than we have now.
The fact is there are absolutely no grownups in positions of power to stop this from going global. Thank you very much Obama.
Never let a crisis go to waste.
They need to shut down all airports in west africa until this is brought under control. The CDCs flippant attitude reminds me of Bernanke saying the problems are contained to subprime.
No surprise here the heads of both these agencies are kosher. What do you expect.
There is no cure, there is no treatment, there is no vaccine.
Quit bringing it into densely populated countries outside of Africa.
If the Ebola virus were sentient it would be doing fist pumps and shouting "woo-hoo!" - and wondering how a supposedly intelligent and complex organism such as humanity could be so fucking stupid.
Meanwhile in Tel Aviv they are busily stockpiling their Ebola vaccines surreptitiously. You goy didnt think there would be nobody left on the Earth at the 'End of the World' lol. Eden is when you can have all of the world for yourself suckers !!!!!
Larry is doing a test run of what it would feel like in the Hawaiian islands.
shut the fuck up already. We get it, you don't like Jews.
Franky why the rage? Were you this angry when Paulson Greenspan Geithner Rubin Goldman Sachs etc were fleecing the USA economy and middle class? Or only when Madoff did the unthinkable and ripped off the wrong folks?????? Whats with the double standards, is it EXCEPTIONALISM?

Geithner is not Jewish by the way.
Does that do anything to your conspiracy theory?

Thanks for that; I take 3 Mg's every night to help me sleep.
Wonder if it could help prevent infection as a prophylactic, as they say?
Interesting. My limited understanding is that the cytokines released by those with the disease cause increased permeability of blood vessels and other tissues, resulting in the internal (and then external) hemorrhaging. Based on reading about wheat's effect on the body (via cytokines), it seems like the mechanism is similar, but far more potent. In which case, an anti-inflammatory approach might help. Makes me wonder if the use of steroids, which are effective against some types of sepsis, might help.
anyone keeping track of the person wearing rolled up sleeves haz mat suit?
did he/she go to the (crowded) movies?
That was a burger chef from McDonalds who volunteered during lunch hour.
No chance to spread infection then. Not much can survive on a McShitter's burger or on the fries.
That could only result in an improvement to the food.

Thomas Duncan In critical condition because he's not part of the CLUB. Sorry Thomas we ran out of meds
That is good in my opinion, the dude put at risk thousands, they should of just left him in that apt.
brincidofovir
Not even the lamestream media can get the story line right. If I had any doubts on the creditability I do now. Yesterday an israeli news source released news that Duncan is dead. Citing Reuters as the source. WTF?! Add to it all the contact various people have had supposedly with Duncan and not one has contracted it? Lastly, who is the Eric Duncan that works for the Peace Corp for it is not the guy in the green shirt. Two people with the same damn name from the same damn town.
The cynical part of me thought that if he survived(s)?, it might encourage others in areas with poor health treatment choices to [similarly?] get out of Dodge while asymptomatic.
So someone please explain why Lagos Nigeria is not spinning out of control with new cases if this virus is transmitted so easily.
Cause mainstream media says its NOT. There does that fix it for you?
So there are thousands dying in Lagos and the MSM is covering it up? Not likely.
Why dont you go there and find out for yourself and call us back, if you are so sure of yourself.
Not even the alternate media is reporting a problem in Lagos. And here we get a panic over 1 nurse in Spain. Critical thinking is not your strong point.
They caught it at the airport as he was getting off the plane. Dumb luck that the doctor who traveled to the other town didn't infect some people.... But it's nigeria- nothing a few lead "vaccines" might not take care of if it's a small enough group of infected.
I have it on the authority of the Nigerian petroleum minister that its contained, along
with my $100m, that I just need to send a processing fee for.
LOL good one Winston.
Does the word "Gaza" mean anything to you?
MSM learned years ago that it's easier just Not to report than to cover up.
Contagion is failing, treatments are failing and TKMR stock is down from its highs. Not good, not good at all. Is there a silver lining? Where or what is it?
Possibility: Lamivudine, an HIV drug. From Sept 27, updated Sept 29
Caution: this is CNN
http://www.cnn.com/2014/09/27/health/ebola-hiv-drug/
HIV drug cocktails are how much these days? Heard a few years back that treatment cost $2500 a month or so. Numbers may have come down since.
Imagine the surging health care costs across the globe.
HIV is a preventable disease, I don't think the same is true for Ebola?
Lamivudine has been around for ages, it's a generic now.
About $100 for 30 day supply. Hard on the liver but may be the only option.
I think someone pointed out on here a little while back that the HIV drugs only suppress the virus allowing you to live a normal life... You may still be infectious, and if you stop taking the medicine you go full blown again.
The silver lining is that if you survive you can pick out a free McMansion and a brand new Jag or BMW. There will be nobody to say you can't.
Why go for a McMansion when a farmhouse would be more in vogue? Although, I do know where some real mansions are where the grass could be ripped out and the land could be turned into farmland.
You gotta think big here.
Realistically, those McMansions and even old mansions would be impractical. Nobody needs or uses that much space, and the maintenance is nightmarish. A farmhouse with farmland would be much more useful. Who wants to have to be a sodbuster when there are fields already prepared?
On a serious note, we've been developing a lot of places that would have originally been used as farmland for a while now. The actual mansions (well built for a lot of $$ a few decades ago,) that I'm thinking of are where there is water even without electricity on land that was likely farmed 100 years ago. Hell, there are still a few farms near them.
But I hear ya on the maintainance. Besides, where I am, one expects to pay more for a house that is made out of mud;)
A few years ago I bought a book detailing how to build your own home out of cob (like adobe a mixture of sand, clay and straw, but not made into bricks). Here in the north, straw bale construction for insulation in at least some of the walls apparently works better They seem eminently practical, with thick walls that, that because of thermal mass are warm in winter, cool in summer. It doesn't burn and bugs don't eat it. There is something quite attractive about them.
CONTAINED! Not airborne, only spread in 3rd world medical facilities. Riiight. Locking down our perimeter.
This is the most tiresome, unimportant topic. How about more finance and less fear-mongering?
Only if you change your name to TheStartTimes.
Bullish for biogen's whether they can develop a treatment/cure or not.
And c'mon, your handle is "TheEndTimes".
He's a schmuck. If he cannot see the obvious tie in between a global pandemic and the collapse of economics, then he obviously can't see how almost every post in the start of the day here on ZH was either chart porn or economic commentary, albeit bearish in ZH style. He's your new ZH normal paid troll poster like all the others who have been here for a matter of weeks. Don't engage.
I think the biggest threat to the US is the fear response to a significant albeit relateively small outbreak. You may not be quite in real danger from ebola yet but if the grocery stores are cleared out and everyone stops going to work... it is not like we have a strong economy or society that can weather that.
This is precsely why they need to be as honest as possible. People panic when they feel they are being lied to and ZH is a microcosm of such sentiments. Ebola was a microbe studied in a secure lab a year ago and now there is talk of an outbreak. I think it will most likely be small, but I am planning for the worst. What does it hurt to have a few hundred dolllars of basic stuff to weather a crisis? Better spent on some basics than another iFuck electronic stupifier.
I agree. When I am bleeding out all of my orifices my only thought will be of my investment portfolio.

With Goldman Sachs running my pension funds investment portfolio it does feel like my portfolio is bleeding from every hole punch....

I assume you are trapped. Otherwise Goldman would never have your money...
I guess a possible "black plague" scenario is occurring and you want finance, the sheep will still buy shit until the drop from the herds, the FED will still be fucking us over for another couple of years or even a decade before that mess gets settled
Maybe that nurse gave her version of "last rites" to those priests with a farewell BJ...
If it had been an alter boy instead of a nurse I would belive it.
Reminds me of a joke... How do you get a priest to fuck a nun? Dress her up like an alter boy!!!!

right??
Three weeks ago I was given a container of vomit from a person in the ER. She had violently thrown up in the parking lot after dinner. They had scraped some of it for me to look at. I saw movement in it and since this was a seafood restaurant I had an idea what it was. I put the specimen under my decertified hood and dug out the white worms. Yes, a clear case of Anisakis. It was blood tinged and pink with salmon parts.
Do you have a clear understanding how many people were probably exposed in this innocuous event? I'm sure the remains were power washed away. Please someone pinch me and get me out of this nightmare.
Miffed
Good that you were able to see the worms and make the diagnosis. Dont think the Ebola would be so visible :( and it would really suck if the diagnosis was later made off of you
Tone in text isn't always easy to convey or to catch - you're not saying you think I was serious in what I wrote, right? :)
Absolutely;-)
I just remembered the incident right as I was reading you post. So you were a unintended victim. Hopefully I will never do this to you microbiologically.

I'm the life of the party... until someone passes out and hits their head on our coffee table. Yup, did happen and Mr Miffed gave me a long lecture on proper microbiological discussions in the future. I was going to ask Miss Manners but I wasn't sure if the paper would publish it. Wimps.
Miffed
Perhaps ask Carolyn Hax instead? If nothing else, for grins and giggles.
dog's breakfast?
I am curious how those people held 90 minutes in airplane feel now.
No problem. The CDC ran their 15-minute test on the subject and the CDC said it was negative.

Yup, build immunity and health before you get sick. Melatonin and Vit C Lots of it. No guranatee you won't get sick, but substantially improves the odds you won't.
I don't think is as much a 'de-population' event as it is fear mongering to sell whatever toxic cocktail they have waiting for fear levels to ramp up. If they're willing to willy pete an entire city they'll stop at nothing.
.
CDC has lost any credibility it may have had with many people.
"The CDC is lying to the public when it says catching ebola requires "direct contact." It does not. You can catch ebola through indirect contact by coming into contact with the blood, saliva, mucous or other body fluids from an infected patient. This can happen over short distance through airborne aerosols, where the ebola virus hitches a ride on small particles of spit and mucous floating around in the air, for example."
http://www.naturalnews.com/047135_airborne_Ebola_N95_masks_full_face_res...
airborne
The "official" numbers from West Africa don't confirm that though. Just looking at the pictures of bodies in the streets and overcrowded hospitals, to no hospitals in the bush I would argue the official number of +/- 6600 infected is bogus. Has to be higher already. But if it was airborne, nobody would risk their lives traveling to the region either to help or to report back.
Is it transmitted by an insect maybe?
walkure...
yes, mosquito, dog feces, bat guanno from the heavens and every other vector known to mankind. Mosquitoes? How about FLIES? They are known to do "touch and go's."
Keep up the fine comments and wit....
Hmmm, nurse presumably taking every available precaution, in a presumably relatively modern medical facility still gets it. Sure glad I'm not one of the guys who powerwashed Thomas Eric Duncan's puke off the sidewalk. But I'm sure they'll be fine, why would I not trust Mr Frieden, he insists Ebola is hard to catch.
how about some ebola trews
I'm wondering how many people outside of West Africa unknowingly have the virus multiplying within them at this moment in time.
There is a number. 7? 243? 1,455? What is the number?
Here is an interesting read on ebola: http://www.theguardian.com/world/2014/oct/04/ebola-zaire-peter-piot-outb...
multi-culti moral relativism is going to kill us all.
Actually we're past the point of no return IMHO.
The moron Texas DRs should send their people over to Salzburg to learn how to diagnose and handle patients who come in complaining of Ebolo like symptoms and have also traveled to Ebolo laden countries.
Friggin country bumkins
I'm from Texas and my bumpkin is not from the country. I think. Wait, what is a bumpkin.
Go to your DR. Bring along a mirror to assist him.
You're the one named Race to the "bottom."
Purely a Fiat financial rendition of the name. Please don't ebola-ize the Name which is only now kicking in the financial scene...
And my beef is not really with Texans, although sometimes they earn whatever they get.
My beef is with Arrogant DRs. I hold the medical industry in almost the same disdain as the WS financial industry. A large part of the reason why US healthcare is so functionally technologically backward is for no other reason than the God Complex DRs and their fear of not being in control or being countermanded.
Whatever their industry gets in the future, they deserve...
What happened in this ebola case is a perfect case in point.
May I suggest that the stock chart of GTAT (mentioned in several previous ZH articles today) might make a nice avatar? You could even overwrite the symbol with DXY.
Double bottom?
So she began to feel ill on the 30th and didnt get to the hospital until today? WTF?
Kept out of the news until today.
Let's hope the nurse went on vacation to DC and took a White House tour.
Zerohedge=nugbags!
1 case in the US and the zerohedge nutbags are banging on like it 's the end of the world.
About 30,000 people in the US die of road accidents every year, why not do something about that? I'll tell you why because zerohedge nutbags prefer to bang on about conspiracies and be victims rather than doing any real good.
What good have you done for Ebola patients?
None.
However. I recently got involved in the community and my neighbor and I got a flower box at the end of our road.
What good have you done? What good does hating Obama do? What good does xenophobia do?
This place seems to be full of malcontented, xenophic, racist, anti-establishment , socially awkwark, white American males.
Keep out foreigners, etc, why don't you all leave and return the land to the American Indians that you stole it from?
Why are you here then?
I was attracted by its counter-balance to the mainstream media but after a year of bearishness, clearly I would have been a lot better investing and building.
More importantly, why are you here? Are you a cheerleader of misery? Do you become joyful when you read a bad story? ARe you hoping for armageddon?
None.

I used to be a liberal, bitch.
Hang around and listen to everyone. Not everyone here is on about race. I know that hurts this website tremedously, but that does not mean I thow it all out. Notice the hate is not consistently against just one group. There is a spectrum of hate, equal opportunity hate!
We are anti-establishment because we realize that money interests have a big hold on what is supposed to our body of "representatives." The three branches of government have been sold to the banks and corporations and they are stealing from the rest of us. Quiet down and learn. Or go away.
I'm not awkward socially either, I can have an awful lot of fun.
What she said.
I take it you are a woman also.
In that case, what you say must be true.
"I am a woman, bitch."
Why are you telling me you are a woman? Are you calling me a bitch? There seems to be no point to your statement. Should I commend you for being a woman?
"Hang around and listen to everyone",
I've been here for a long time, maybe longer than you...
"We are anti-establishment because we realize that money interests have a big hold on what is supposed to our body of "representatives."
Are you more than one person? Do you represent a group? If not do you have multiple personalities? I am one person and a long time ZH reader. Do you claim to represent me also?
"Quiet down and learn. Or go away."
The is classic ZH, "I don't like what you say, shut up or go away".
"I'm not awkward socially either"
There's always an exception to the rule.....
It's probably a similar experience trying to explain the color blue to a blind person.
"I am a woman, bitch."
I'm surprized you didn't start chanting USA.
I got snagged by a bad faith troll. Congrats and I apologize to everyone else for answering you.
I answered the points you made in your post and you, in bad faith, pretended not to understand why I said what I said. I have been here 5 years, you could check that, grasshopper. But I guess you don't know how, right?
Enjoy the Lolz.
"a bad faith troll".
That's just plain insulting.
We bought a portion of it for some clam shells and then later we bought a larger portion of it from the French. Other portions were not well-utilized, so we got to it and made the land productive.
A flower box? That's great. Did your mommy help you?
Forgive my stupity, I had forgotten that buying stolen goods that were blatantly stolen makes them unstolen.
You are clearly a connoisseur of intellectual morality and not a hypocritical american living in a land that I and the UN had stupidly thought was stolen.
Anyway, I better sign out and stop wasting your time. I'm sure you have pressing important business, posting about illegal immigrants, minority groups, foreigners, etc.
Mcsean - you actually think your land was not taken from someone else? Wake up - all nations were formed that way. That is how humans do it.
Did a cat just run across your keyboard or are you really that stupid?
Please list what you consider to be stupid.
1. mcsean2163
I'll finish the list later
I look forward to it.
2. You believed that he would finish the list
Politeness does not necessarily imply belief.
The guy thinks I am stupid but can't say why .
That is true stupidity, the stupidity of the self-satisfied middle man.
Why try harder when you can complain and assert your intellectual superiority through complaining, all the better when more malcontents reinforce your morally suspect ideologies.
Just another zerohedge nutbag....

Please define ;
"... rather than doing any real good."
There is a whole world out there full of children, nature and beauty.
Doing real good could be some of the following:
1. Plant a tree.
2. Help an old person.
3. Get involved in a community group.
4. Teach children how to read.
5. Promote and embody sustainable living.
6. Meditate and share your insight.
There are so many ways to do real good but there is only one way to zerohedge. Zerohedge is all about cheerleading the misery in the world.
Define "good".
For those who went through the US education system.

May I add Point 7 (after Meditate). 'Then go out and shoot a 'hood rat'.
Thank you.
mcsean - you make some good points. However your view of ZH is about as black and white - no middle ground - as the intolerant ZH views you complain about. I've been here 4+ years and the reason I keep coming back and posting is that there are an awful lot of free-thinking, intelligent people here - as well as any ordinary family's share of crazies and misfits. Think of Thanksgiving dinner and the "discussions" around the table - especially between the cynical old farts and the young idealists.
As I said - you have some good points, and I understand the fun in taunting people who have a hair trigger, but if you want to make a lasting contribution, here or anywhere else, don't make the rudimentary mistake of lumping everybody together. Unless you're simply here to cause trouble in which case others have set a very high bar for you, and most of them are long gone.
I've been here for ages but rarely contribute as I need to reset my password everytime!
"don't make the rudimentary mistake of lumping everybody together"
That's a fair point but nevertheless, as a non-american it's hard to stomache some of the garbage that appears here. I think people around the world want to see America set the standard but when the land of the free has the highest incarcaration rate in the world and drops bombs on children, things are not quite right.
It's nice to get a counter-argument but for me this place seems to have developed a mob mentality.
All the hysteria about ISIS is ludicrous. It is shocking and terrible but look in the mirror.
http://www.thebureauinvestigates.com/2014/01/23/more-than-2400-dead-as-o...
Is that the American Spirit, killing children by remote control? Talking about securing the US borders? Cheerleading misery?
My cup overflowed today and you are right but still, it's hard to leave ZH but it's a bit toxic.
From the late Harry Browne, on identity traps.
"In the first trap, you necessarily forfeit your freedom by requiring yourself to live in a stereotyped, predetermined way that doesn’t consider your own desires, feelings, and objectives.
The second trap is more subtle but just as harmful to your freedom. When you expect someone to have the same ideas, attitudes, and feelings you have, you expect him to act in ways that aren’t in keeping with his nature. As a result, you’ll expect and hope that people will do things they're not capable of doing."
Yes, sometimes it does seem that ZH can be a self-reinforcing echo-chamber of negativity. I usually move through life with gratitude and love, but can't help but notice that in some quadrants, one and one doesn't add up to two. As a history buff, I think I see parallels to other times and trends that were not net positive for humanity. If I listen to the "regular" news, the reality that I see and what is projected don't mesh. At least here, whether I agree with all viewpoints or sentiments, I know that I am not alone in seeing and sensing that some current macro trends are not conducive to the human spirit/condition and what I define as liberty.

If Ebola takes hold, hospitals and EMS will be grossly inadequate and you will be on your own. Plan accordingly.
www.woodpilereport.com for an interesting take on Ebola that agrees with the worst case scenario. If you look at your piles of fuel, food, drink, meds, woodstove and supplies and you think you have enough, you don't.
Don't tell anyone you have supplies and hide your stuff from looters and the food police.

Dick party in my mouth. Hope I don't catch the 'bola!
The difference between those that survive anything is a general plan and adaptability

"This is one of my constant concerns - that hospital staff have a problem asking if the patient has traveled recently. I got caught in that web when I accidently overheard a patient state that she had just returned from China. The admitting nurse didn't bother to be concerned although the patient had a cough. Turned out, she had TB - and we all had to be tested. She had been placed in a semi-private room. Two weeks ago I attended an infection control meeting where not word was said about Ebola. When I present the minutes to the meeting, it's going to be at the top of the list of things to consider."

It's contained. No worries.
if the PTB were concerned about an ebola pandemic, then they would have deployed a shit-ton of medical aid and resources back in the late spring to help contain ebola in sierra leone, guinea, and liberia.
that didn't happen.
careless mistake?
it's not too late to invest in production and shipment of fully-equipped, portable ebola treatment clinics to the hardest hit countries.
http://www.odulair.com/mobile-ebola-isolation-treatment-center-portable-... http://www.durabilityanddesign.com/news/?fuseaction=view&id=12059so, instead of people understanbly attempting to fly to the best medical care outside their ebola-stricken countries, why not bring the best medical care to the front lines?
here's a situation where "boots on the ground" to counter a threat to humanity actually makes sense.

Best wishes to everyone. Whatever happens, don't be afraid. Followers of Jesus of Nazareth will know why.
lol.
I don't need a carpenter.
I need a CDC director who doesn't have vast financial conflicts of interest--like selling a mandatory vaccine to a decimated, desperate population for a virus that his tribe holds all the patents on.

Frieden's unwillingness to recommend a travel ban out of West Africa might make him a good candidate for one of the 4 Horsemen of the apocalypse, pestilence. Not that I believe in that sort of thing, but the results could be the same.
I'm sure as a medic he'd have liked to implement the travel ban. But nothing can interfere with the flooding of America by the Third World.
If you stay away from black people you probably won't get Ebola....or mugged, or a victim of the knock-out game, or subject to their smell.
Hoa boy, y'all. A guy got Ebola cleaning an infected car, actually using chlorine. I wonder what this says about Powerwasher-san from last week?

I'll be fine then! I never clean my car! I do, however, change the oil every 3000 miles.
