Dallas Commissioners Will Declare State Of Disaster Tomorrow Over Ebola

Tyler Durden's picture

While the message from the President is 'keep calm and avoid bodily fluids', it appears the commissioners in Dallas are slightly more concerned at the potential for Ebola to escalate:

  • *DALLAS COMMISSIONERS TO DECLARE LOCAL STATE OF DISASTER TOMORROW: NBC-TV
  • *DALLAS COUNTY CONSIDERS DECLARING STATE OF DISASTER FROM EBOLA
  • *DALLAS DISASTER DECLARATION WOULD ACTIVATE EMERGENCY PLAN

While we are not sure where a "state of disaster" ranks relative to a "public health emergency" such as the one in Connecticut, we are certain of one thing - it will mean civil liberties will be reduced as government takes control.

*  *  *

Welcome to the new normal American police state.

*  *  *

And then there's this... (as NBC Dallas reports)

Officials with Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas are apologizing for misdiagnosing the country's first Ebola patient.

In testimony that will be submitted to the House of Representives on Thursday, Dr. Daniel Varga, chief clinical officer at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas, admitted to mistakes that were made during Thomas Eric Duncan's care when he first arrived at the hospital's emergency room.

"As the first hospital in the country to both diagnose and treat a patient with Ebola, we are committed to using our experience to help other hospitals and healthcare providers protect public health against this insidious virus, Varga said in the prepared testimony.

"It’s hard for me to put into words how we felt when our patient Thomas Eric Duncan lost his struggle with Ebola on October 8. It was devastating to the nurses, doctors, and team who tried so hard to save his life," Varga said in the statement. "We keep his family in our thoughts and prayers. Unfortunately, in our initial treatment of Mr. Duncan, despite our best intentions and a highly skilled medical team, we made mistakes. We did not correctly diagnose his symptoms as those of Ebola. We are deeply sorry."

*  *  *

Perhaps even more concerning is that the CDC appears to have given the second nurse infected with Ebola permission to fly (despite her reporting she had an elevated temperature), as CBS reports:

CBS News Medical Correspondent Dr. John LaPook reports that Vinson called the CDC several times before boarding the plane concerned about her fever.

“This nurse, Nurse Vinson,  did in fact call the CDC several times before taking that flight and said she has a temperature, a fever of 99.5, and the person at the CDC looked at a chart and because her temperature wasn’t 100.4 or higher she didn’t officially fall into the category of high risk.”

Vinson first reported a fever to the hospital on Tuesday (Oct. 14) and was isolated within 90 minutes, according to officials. She did not exhibit symptoms while on the Monday flight, according to crew members. However, the CDC says passenger notification is needed as an “extra level of safety” due to the proximity in time between the flight and the first reported symptoms.

“Those who have exposures to Ebola, she should not have traveled on a commercial airline,” said Dr. Frieden. “The CDC guidance in this setting outlines the need for controlled movement. That can include a charter plane; that can include a car; but it does not include public transport. We will from this moment forward ensure that no other individual who is being monitored for exposure undergoes travel in any way other than controlled movement.”

Do these people really know what they are dealing with?

It seems a lot of them are here on ZH crapping their pants out of fear of 'ebola' - - - -(and not because theyve got anything more than a case of an excess tendency to be gullible and short memories when it comes to past 'pandemic warnings' that were frauds .)

@BellyBrain - you may be right. It didn't work last time they warned that all Americans might be forced to take the latest vaccine against their hyped 'pandemic". They ended up dumping a lot of their poison when no one would take it.

But then again, there are a lot of dumb azzes afraid of whatever 'medical experts' tell them to be afraid of in Amerika.

Even though we are 'The Land of the Free, Home of the Brave'. . . . . . in our imaginations.

Channeling Mario Draghi...

Well you really are asking questions that are so hypothetical that I don't have an answer to them. Well, I may have a partial answer. These questions are formulated by people who vastly underestimate what Africa means for the Globalists, for the Globalist agenda. They vastly underestimate the amount of political capital that has been invested in the area. For example, they vastly underestimate the amount of political capital that George Soros has expended to dislodge Benny Steinmetz from Guinea. It's not like a sliding door. It's a very important thing. Africa is a project of the Elite. That's why you have a very hard time asking people like me "what would happened if." There is No Plan B.

Seriously, ya'll need to get your asses to Ebolaland and see the place, and how shit actually works over there. After all it's not like you are actually going to catch Ebola or something, since the whole thing is a hoax and all...

The only potentially good thing about ebola is that it will destroy direct Obama voters and the indirect Obama voters, i.e., those who voted for him by choosing not to vote "because it doesn't matter".

It will take a disaster on the scale of this pandemic to make some of these mindless dolts who bought into liberal mantra "two faces of the same coin". it will take literally the death of a very close friend or family member for a few to know (a little too late,, BTW) that is really does matter to get your ass up out of bed and vote because it's the ONLY day you have ANY political power. Note the recent gas price drops to see the power and effectiveness of voting. Incumbants throw you this bone each election to sway you to vote for them.

When it comes to the choice between voting for an incumbant (by  ignorantly choosing NOT to vote) who is America and American hating worthless incompetent community agitator who's never had a job and a true American who worked their entire adult life participated in building America, the former will always make choices that destroy America and working Americans and their jobs.

People really need to know the source of a mantra before repeating it like parrots. It does matter who you vote for.  This is the first election where the most creative ways are being implemented to prevent a sweep of the senate.

If you want more of the same, sit home this election. If you are sick of it at least get out and pull the lever. Just make your choice. Start controlling your life instead of sitting around and bitching about it.

Rex 84, short for Readiness Exercise 1984, was a classified "scenario and drill" developed by the United States federal government to suspend the United States Constitution, declare martial law, place military commanders in charge of state and local governments, and detain large numbers of American citizens who are deemed to be "national security threats", in the event that the President declares a "State of National Emergency". The plan states, events causing such a declaration would be widespread U.S. opposition to a U.S. military invasion abroad, such as if the United States were to directly invade Central America.[1][2][3][4][5] To combat what the government perceived as "subversive activities", the plan also authorized the military to direct ordered movements of civilian populations at state and regional levels.[6] Rex 84 was written by Lieutenant Colonel Oliver North, who was both National Security Council White House Aide, and NSC liaison to the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), and John Brinkerhoff, the deputy director of "national preparedness" programs for the FEMA. They patterned the plan on a 1970 report written by FEMA chief Louis Giuffrida, at the Army War College, which proposed the detention of up to 21 million "American Negroes", if there were a black militant uprising in the United States.[1][7] Existence of a master military contingency plan (of which REX-84 was a part), "Garden Plot" and a similar earlier exercise, "Lantern Spike", were originally revealed by journalist Ron Ridenhour, who summarized his findings in an article in CounterSpy.[8] Transcripts from the Iran-Contra Hearings in 1987 record the following dialogue between Congressman Jack Brooks, Oliver North's attorney Brendan Sullivan and Senator Daniel Inouye, the Democratic Chair of the joint Senate-House Committee:[9] [Congressman Jack] Brooks: Colonel North, in your work at the N.S.C. were you not assigned, at one time, to work on plans for the continuity of government in the event of a major disaster? Brendan Sullivan [North's counsel, agitatedly]: Mr. Chairman? [Senator Daniel] Inouye: I believe that question touches upon a highly sensitive and classified area so may I request that you not touch upon that? Brooks: I was particularly concerned, Mr. Chairman, because I read in Miami papers, and several others, that there had been a plan developed, by that same agency, a contingency plan in the event of emergency, that would suspend the American constitution. And I was deeply concerned about it and wondered if that was an area in which he had worked. I believe that it was and I wanted to get his confirmation. Inouye: May I most respectfully request that that matter not be touched upon at this stage. If we wish to get into this, I'm certain arrangements can be made for an executive session. Exercises similar to Rex 84 have happened in the past.[10] For example, from 1967 to 1971, the FBI kept a list of over 100,000 persons to be rounded up as subversive, dubbed the "ADEX" list.

Sorry Amish, Burroughs called it decades ago:

“We have a new type of rule now. Not one-man rule, or rule of aristocracy or plutocracy, but of small groups elevated to positions of absolute power by random pressures, and subject to political and economic factors that leave little room for decision. They are representatives of abstract forces who have reached power through surrender of self. The iron-willed dictator is a thing of the past. There will be no more Stalins, no more Hitlers. The rulers of this most insecure of all worlds are rulers by accident, inept, frightened pilots at the controls of a vast machine they cannot understand, calling in experts to tell them which buttons to push.”

Ebola transmitted like Influenza A says US Army bioweapons labat Ft. Detrick, Maryland.

http://socioecohistory.wordpress.com/2014/09/18/us-army-says-ebola-flu-i...

I saw this a week or 10 days ago. Ebola likes to stay alive in lab tests at 4C, about 40F, with 30% to 40% humidity. Has been shown to stay "alive" and transmissable outside the host for over 15 hours.

The take away - 2 conclusions.

  • Ebola is likely more dangerous in temperate zone, cool weather climates, like most of the US of A, than it is in tropical Africa
  • The fact that this knowledge is being supressed, not in the MSM, is the smoking gun that this is planned. The new 9-11.

Well yes.. given that viruses are much more basic in terms of their biochemical structures than bacteria or parasites, they can endure a broader range of environmental conditions.

You'd think, but that isn't necessarily true.  It just happens to be able to survive a far more extreme range of environments than many pathogens.  It could be true, but I doubt it, given its origins.  This particular strain seems to be more transmissable than previous outbreaks though.  That is something people should be extremely vigilant about.

The timing of the outbreak is a little spooky, warranted.  I just don't know whether it is deliberate or not.  Somebody somewhere will probably be taking advantage of this though.

re. Ebola spreads like influenza A in temperate regions - "You'd think, but that isn't necessarily true." What a stupid thing to say. What are you? The Great Karnak? Did you even read the link? What's your source for your statement that contradicts the US Army bioweapons research lab?

You have made a very troll-like, knowledege supressing response.

Ebola is actually easier to get than InfluenzaA because influenza can only attack the respratory system. It must be breathed in. Ebola will not only go the respratory route. Unlike influenza, Ebola will also pass thru your skin. Hence the concern about contact with body fluids.

Wed, 10/15/2014 - 22:25 | 5339036 BrosephStiglitz
BrosephStiglitz's picture

I'm not the Great Karnak, no.  But I do have a degree in Biochemistry and have studied immunology and microbiology in depth.  I read the linked journal, blogs don't always present scientific literature well.  Of course there is merit in it.

"You'd think, but that isn't necessarily true."

I stick by it because we haven't seen this ebola strain in a winter environment.  So yes.  Until the winter is over (if it breaks out), we don't ACTUALLY know.  There needs to be empirical evidence for me to absolutely agree with this hypothesis, but is it a risk factor?  Yes, what they state is sound.

And I was saying early on that this Ebola outbreak is a potentially serious global event.  As for it being a false flag, well.. I'm skeptical of everything until proven the contrary.  Even well presented and scientifically sound theory.  As I stated, it could be, but I doubt we'll ever know.

PS: I have also studied the means of ebola transmission and previously posted a link to a scientific journal which tested various bodily fluids pre and post infection.  Sweat is particularly bad while the patient is infected (which is an easy transmission route in a feverish patient) but in the event that they recover, the viral content is negligible.  Semen and other fluids like breast milk contain the virus for a while after recovery.

My worry is that someone with Ebola gets loose in a major metropolitan area like London, or NYC (or Istanbul), and smears pathogens all along a railing in a heavily trafficked area.  In the event that happens the number of cases could explode within a fortnight.

That's basically what the OP's article stated.  Ebola has similar survival rates to Influenza A in aerosolized particles, but is far more easily transmitted.

Common Cold at winter + sneezing and coughing = an all out ebola orgy pretty much anywhere public, provided Ebola:
- Can be spread via aerosols (which seems likely);
- Doesn't get killed off by some other external factor which wasn't considered in the laboratory setting.

(I live in a wintry country that is densely population.  So if that is true, I am double-fucked.  The OP will probably be relieved that my dumb ass might not be posting after winter.)

Hey, asshat.  First off I am not a fraud.  Secondly the evidence is in a LABORATORY setting.  There is a difference between the lab* and the outside environment.

Thirdly it's spelled "Empirical."

*You control various variables when testing in a laboratory otherwise you cannot correctly interpret results.  There are numerous extraneous factors outside the laboratory which the testers cannot take into account.

The reasearch on ebola behavior in cool weather climates is only available from labratory work because up til now, ebola has never been in nature outside of tropical W. Africa. Instead of saying "Not necessarily" to the argument that Ebola does well in cool climates, you should have said, "Not necessarily, but best available reasearch indicates likely so." Then you'd be speaking some truth. Let's see what you got. Tell me I'm wrong or you're the asshat, Asshat.

This important knowledge regarding ebola cool temperature behavior is being suppressed as its not in the MSM. With your initial comment you look like you are here to do the same. In subsequent comments you are backing off, so I guess that's progress.

Urban Redneck's picture

The knowledge has not been suppressed, it's been publicly available for years, and continues to be publicly available.

Why would you assume that the MSM has any interest in expanding peoples' actual knowledge or understanding, which would undercut their own influence (power) over those masses?

Not everyone can be a grand poobah, some elites have to settle for being mere press barons.

BTW even Reuters has published (as least as early as July) that ebola was like the flu (for those fucktards who cannot be bothered to read freely available professional journals for themselves, and need to be spoon fed information like a baby):

http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2014-08-04/new-york-hospital-testing-sick-...

Derek Gatherer, a virologist at Britain’s University of Lancaster, said Ebola was not "super-infectious”. Each case is expected to lead to two or three more, similar to a flu outbreak and much lower than diseases like measles, where one case could lead to 12 to 18 more.

...

Anyone at this stage of the illness is close to death, and probably also too ill to travel, said Bruce Hirsch, an infectious diseases expert at North Shore University Hospital in the United States.

"It is possible, of course, for a person to think he might just be coming down with the flu, and to get onto transport and then develop more critical illness. That's one of the things we are concerned about," he said in a telephone interview.

Dude, here is an example. CDC's Tom Freiden, supressing knowledge, Oct 1st on CNN saying "Its not like the flu, ... it requires direct physical contact". That's obviously not true just from the links you came up with.

http://m.youtube.com/?#/watch?v=7V9ZHD0KRDg

I agree its easy to find literature saying ebola can spread like flu. Why is the CDC director saying otherwise?? I have news for you. CNN still has more viewers than Zero Hedge, so more people are going to hear the CDC director lying than will do their own research.

The question is, WHY is he misleading people? What is his agenda? In a sane world he would have been removed already.

Thu, 10/16/2014 - 09:44 | 5340938 Urban Redneck
Urban Redneck's picture

The CDC director is literally a .gov troll so I think some of his reasons for misleading people are quite obvious - preservation of the status quo (both his and the .gov he represents).

Any admission of error or fallibility increases the possibility increased support for change to the status quo, so that's a no-no.

Or to put it another way: Is there something else that is also motivating the CDC chief to mislead the people

As for CNN... hopefully natural selection will eliminate what's left of their viewers and then host itself.

Repost but seems to fit well:

I'm sure there are additional threats yet to come:

Federal oversight on Airline Passengers can really stop commerce and consumption (TSA plus additional workers and medical personnel)

- Road Blocks
- TSA Checkpoints on Highways
- Quarantine Zones block deliveries, commerce, consumption
- Seaports, Airports, Bus Ports, Train Ports all can be hampered by a fuddling Obama Administration raising costs and holding back market activity

Of course no one can spend money like the Federal Government when there is a problem.

- Express Air shipping of medical Supplies
- Express Contracts for Inoculations or Vaccines
- Construction of Isolation Tents or Buildings
- New Federal Employment of TSA or Medical type people
- Leases of Office Space for new Federal Employment

And as others have been pointing out:

- Hemorrhagic Fever will cause people to quit jobs
- Pandemics will slow down port activities as workers quit
- Confusion will double in US Medical Centers
- Triage Strategies will have to be used in all Emergency and Port Operations
