Dallas Commissioners Will Declare State Of Disaster Tomorrow Over Ebola

Tyler Durden's picture

While the message from the President is 'keep calm and avoid bodily fluids', it appears the commissioners in Dallas are slightly more concerned at the potential for Ebola to escalate:

  • *DALLAS COMMISSIONERS TO DECLARE LOCAL STATE OF DISASTER TOMORROW: NBC-TV
  • *DALLAS COUNTY CONSIDERS DECLARING STATE OF DISASTER FROM EBOLA
  • *DALLAS DISASTER DECLARATION WOULD ACTIVATE EMERGENCY PLAN

While we are not sure where a "state of disaster" ranks relative to a "public health emergency" such as the one in Connecticut, we are certain of one thing - it will mean civil liberties will be reduced as government takes control.

*  *  *

Welcome to the new normal American police state.

*  *  *

And then there's this... (as NBC Dallas reports)

Officials with Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas are apologizing for misdiagnosing the country's first Ebola patient.

In testimony that will be submitted to the House of Representives on Thursday, Dr. Daniel Varga, chief clinical officer at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas, admitted to mistakes that were made during Thomas Eric Duncan's care when he first arrived at the hospital's emergency room.

"As the first hospital in the country to both diagnose and treat a patient with Ebola, we are committed to using our experience to help other hospitals and healthcare providers protect public health against this insidious virus, Varga said in the prepared testimony.

"It’s hard for me to put into words how we felt when our patient Thomas Eric Duncan lost his struggle with Ebola on October 8. It was devastating to the nurses, doctors, and team who tried so hard to save his life," Varga said in the statement. "We keep his family in our thoughts and prayers. Unfortunately, in our initial treatment of Mr. Duncan, despite our best intentions and a highly skilled medical team, we made mistakes. We did not correctly diagnose his symptoms as those of Ebola. We are deeply sorry."

*  *  *

Perhaps even more concerning is that the CDC appears to have given the second nurse infected with Ebola permission to fly (despite her reporting she had an elevated temperature), as CBS reports:

CBS News Medical Correspondent Dr. John LaPook reports that Vinson called the CDC several times before boarding the plane concerned about her fever.

“This nurse, Nurse Vinson,  did in fact call the CDC several times before taking that flight and said she has a temperature, a fever of 99.5, and the person at the CDC looked at a chart and because her temperature wasn’t 100.4 or higher she didn’t officially fall into the category of high risk.”

Vinson first reported a fever to the hospital on Tuesday (Oct. 14) and was isolated within 90 minutes, according to officials. She did not exhibit symptoms while on the Monday flight, according to crew members. However, the CDC says passenger notification is needed as an “extra level of safety” due to the proximity in time between the flight and the first reported symptoms.

“Those who have exposures to Ebola, she should not have traveled on a commercial airline,” said Dr. Frieden. “The CDC guidance in this setting outlines the need for controlled movement. That can include a charter plane; that can include a car; but it does not include public transport. We will from this moment forward ensure that no other individual who is being monitored for exposure undergoes travel in any way other than controlled movement.”

Do these people really know what they are dealing with?

Yeah, and that's why this could get very fugly very quickly.

Even the ZH braintrust don't know how this thing is spreading, and it seems to like those who take the MOST precautions, which is disturbing and not good for humans.

It is going to prove to be most effective at eating away at health care staffing and capacity with a very few number of known infected, and everything is gong to just stop working soon after.

They screwed up, this thing is out of containment, it spreads by who knows what vector, and panic is coming soon.

Once an elemetary school, or major televised sporting event, are shuttered, the economy will grind to a halt.

After that first surge in retail sales, of course.

Oh well. Good luck everyone.

The 2d nurse should have known better than to act the way she did once she started showing an elevated temperature.   This business of "I called the CDC" is a way to deflect legal action against her by Frontier airlines and any passengers who might contract this disease or endure "severe emotional distress" worrying for the next 21 days whether they might have contracted this more often than not deadly disease.

E-Z Ebola Transmission Vector

Warm moist foam (sponge) seat cushion or couch where Ebola virus survives for hours, on a bus, bus station, plane, airport, train, train station, cab, waiting room, hospital, doctor office, restaurant.

Coupled with patient sweating and various liquid emissions (blood, gas, bowel) into the cushion seat. Then next victim sitting in warm cushion in it and touching it and wiping it.

That specific seat is probably 'contagious' for 24 hours or more...the seat and virus kept warm and moist.

EBOLA Biological Warfare – Is India Prepared ?

It turns out that there is a vaccine against Ebola. Pentagon scientists were developing it for 30 years, and all the rights for the drug belong to the government of the United States. Two infected US medics received injections of the vaccine and they started recovering from the disease immediately. Why has this been made public only now?

Why is it that the USA holds all the rights for the use of the vaccine?

There can be two most obvious answers to these questions.As one can see, Ebola is a perfect biological weapon: it spreads quickly and gives nearly 100% mortality rate. Those having the life-saving vaccine can dictate any conditions to others.

The second answer is a purely commercial interest. It is enough to arrange panic with the help of the media, as it was the case with several epidemics before, such as avian flu. Afterwards, it will be possible to sell the life-saving medicine at any price.

However, Russian scientists doubt that the Americans created the medicine indeed. Russian scientists also conducted the research to study the nature of the virus to be able to create the vaccine against it. Soviet scientists, for example, Professor Alexander Butenko, was a member of the joint Soviet-Guinean expedition in 1982 and spent nearly a year in the rain forests of Guinea, when the then unknown virus was discovered.

Strategy of Biological Warfare

On Dec. 10, 1974, the U.S. National Security Council under Henry Kissinger completed a classified 200-page study, “National Security Study Memorandum 200Implications of Worldwide Population Growth for U.S. Security and Overseas Interests.” The study falsely claimed that population growth in the so-called Lesser Developed Countries (LDCs) was a grave threat to U.S. national security. Adopted as official policy in November 1975 by President Gerald Ford, NSSM 200 outlined a covert plan to reduce population growth in those countries through birth control, and also, implicitly, war and famine. Brent Scowcroft, who had by then replaced Kissinger as National Security Adviser (the same post Scowcroft was to hold in the Bush administration), was put in charge of implementing the plan. CIA Director George Bush was ordered to assist Scowcroft, as were the secretaries of state, treasury, defense, and agriculture.

It's primarily about protecting the fragile global economy, NOT about public health. The Banks run the show, hence the state of "pretend denial:"

"As with many topics, the U.S. government remains in a state of total denial about Ebola and seems to have prioritized "keeping people calm" over the far more important job of "halting Ebola infections." The primary worry now at the highest levels of government is that if the American people truly realized just how easily a level-4 biohazard "hot agent" virus was spreading in a U.S. hospital, the population would panic."

Ebola virus is so small (0.8-1 um x 0.08 um) that it can be spread even by the smallest droplets produced by a human breathing, talking, coughing, sneezing (smallest respiratory droplets are 5 um or smaller).

In this sense it absolutely is possible to be infected by dropets via air, and in addition the virus stays infectious for upto 90 minutes on surfaces.  Anyone denying this is lying.

The government is not the most efficient organization in the world.  High profile incidents covered by the media often reassures the public that the government stands ready to rush to our aid in case of a national disaster. Following a tornado or hurricane in the newscast we see FEMA workers spread-out and moving from door to door offering help to Americans in need.

This reassuring media coverage is misleading. Be prepared that in the case of a major crisis or disaster if you find yourself in an large area of devastation the government will prove largely ineffective. If and when a really large Armageddon event does occur we will quickly become acutely aware that God helps those who help themselves. More on this subject in the article below.

Any professional thoughts on how soon Ebola virus gets into the blood supply? (old enough to flashback to when HIV was in the blood supply and in products made from blood.) I work with intravenous immune globulin daily and will be switching to using heavier "chemo" gloves as it is made from 60000 blood donors. Standard virus inactivation manufacturing processes might be sufficient versus ebola virus, or might not. Eventually, ebola survivors may be forced to donate blood to make a specialized IVIG versus ebola.

Obama and Frieden think Americans need to be world citizens.  Thats right, we need to accept diseased west africans into the country with open arms, then give them 500k of free health care at taxpayers expense.  Not to mention expose ourselves to the disease and risk the lives of millions.  If ever there was a case to impeach this president, this is it.  If they can't do it now, when can they?

Did this nurse simply tell CDC "gee, I have a very mild fever, may I board the plane?" or did she say, "Gee, I tended Duncan as a nurse in Dallas, you know, the guy who just died of Ebola and who infected another nurse. I now have a slight fever.... is it still okay to board?"

For some reason, these news reporters don't seem able to ask the obvious questions....

They wouldn't hold on to their jobs for long if they did. Can you imagine the career impact on a reporter who, for example, openly queried the collapse of WTC 7?

I think they have to do this to be eligible for specific federal "relief" booty. Its a cosmetic gesture for the fleecees.
