My mind isn't closed, and apparently some bad brown acid or something is impairing the functioning of yours...

In regards to that "news article" - Africans tinfoil hatters are even more paranoid than their American cousins. People are often suspected of witchcraft (or even shoplifting) and burnt on the spot. Blaming ebola on witchraft (which does happen, and is even in local "news articles" ...is about as realistic as blaming ebola on formaldehyde poisoning. Just because you saw it on a website doesn't make it true (if you really think it does, please go hang out at Faux News or MSNBS were that sort of thinking is acceptable, and someone might be gullible enough to believe that the "article" actually said or implied that, all you are doing is demonstrating that you actually lack critical thinking skills.) Some West African locals (in their infinite idiocy) also blame the JEWS for infecting Africans with ebola that liquefies their internal organs ...because apparently the evil Jews want to harvest their (rapidly liquefying) organs for transplant into relatively healthy people. Despite the countless things specific Jews can be blamed for, and the fewer things they can be collectively blamed, and everything that both the reasonable and certifiably insane blame them for here on ZH, I don't see that one being tossed around here (but the raw meat might bring out the local fruit bats).

Regardless of whether ANYONE put ANYTHING in a specific well in Liberia, and given clan and tribal rivalries it does happen, but it is irrelevant to the ebola outbreak. Look up the general tendency of the locals (and local governments) to blame/scapegoat the Peul/Fullani for just about anything.

There are three sources of drinking water in Africa- municipal, still (wells), and running (springs, streams, rivers). It is impossible, even if someone tried to contaminate the drinking water of everyone who has contracted ebola with formaldehyde, just as it is impossible for all the trained medical professionals (unlike internet trolls) who are dealing with the outbreak every day to confuse formaldehyde poisoning with ebola infection.

Tell me how two nurses in Dallas, Texas, were poisoned with formaldehyde, is someone injecting Evian bottles in the Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas with formaldehyde? Formaldehyde poisoning is not communicable BETWEEN PEOPLE like communicable infectious diseases are (such as ebbola).

Now put up a viable theory (with or without evidence) or shut up, or else you are going to bleed to death on the floor of Fight Club.

According to [1], the body count currently sits at 4,500. I find their sales numbers overly optimistic [sic].

Not able to give any answers and not being a med, but like to ask questions:

  • With Ebola supposedly have gone airborne [2], it is strange to see that it is not millions of dead bodies already. Is it the perfect treatment in the 3 African countries?
  • How come that quarantine is broken deliberately on the American and European continent?
  • How come that there are patients #1 and #2 in the US despite all precautions?!
  • What if Ebola were a military project? [3]
  • What if it were a hoax? [4]

"Even when Doctors without Frontiers and the Guinea government claim that the mob who attacked DwF employees has acted in panic, so there are some uncomfortable truths regarding the West and its use of chemical and biological means for experiments as well for enforcing geopolitical aspirations which may well lead to a sustained fear of the inhabitants that the Ebola outbreak has not happened by accident."

In Liberia they are alleging that water wells are being poisoned and contaminated vaccines are being given by fake red cross people.

It looks like the Liberians are working on around 1.1m Tyvek suits for a population of 4m, so around one suit for every 4 people. Take a leap and assume this is about right, and suddenly the USA needs 79.5m, UK 16m, India 315m, and China 341m. Anyone have any idea how many DuPont and similar can knock out a month?

I bet this is the one area of global inventory that we're low on.

Only problem I see here is that one hazmat suit is much more valuable than a Liberian life... from the standpoint of TPTB

On 9-11 we were told "America is under attack!!!"
By allowing flights into the US from affected African nations how is Ebola any different? Shouldn't the military take action and arrest whoever is ultimately responsible for that decision? Doesn't matter if there is a deliberate intent to harm Americans or if it's pure stupidity at this point.

Listen Girls.

This is how it goes down. eBola gets so bad in Africa the leadership and military run for the hills and in the power void total anarchy takes over.

USSA says: "OH those poor, poor people. They are political refugees". They get invited to America as such. Free plane rides, free housing, free education on how to vote, and a $10,000 stipend to get them started off as full fledged members of the FSA!

Go 'merica!

Ebola virus is so small (0.8-1 um x 0.08 um) that it can be spread even by the smallest droplets produced by a human breathing, talking, coughing, sneezing (smallest respiratory droplets are 5 um or smaller).

In this sense it absolutely is possible to be infected by droplets via air, and in addition the virus stays infectious for upto 90 minutes on surfaces. Anyone denying this is lying.

Are these HAZMAT suits effective against mothers in law?

On a more serious note, we need to realize that we cannot live our lives in these suits and that sooner or later all humans will be exposed unless it is brought under control .

Bro, you're ordering body bags in multiples of 10,000.  Maybe instead you should be buying a shitload of shovels and gasoline.  Don't forget the matches.

Could be bullish for CAT

They need a mass grave trench digger attachment for their D9 bulldozer.

It's called a CAT 350L They weigh about 100,000 lbs and drink diesel like a raging alcoholic. One of my business partners in Ebooooooola Land has one, but it's being used to build productive shit right now. There's a booming market in reconditioned equipment in West Africa, perhaps the USSA could export some of its significant excess capacity on generous terms, but no one (local) can afford new shit from American manufacturers priced in USD, especially not now.

I was visualizing something along the lines of a Bobcat trencher

Except up sized to handle the capacity of any major epidemic.

Ability to dig a continuous  4' wide x 10' deep trench at 5 miles per hour --

BTW - I didn't down arrow you - who could down arrow a CAT 350L?

Must be a liberal that doesn't like to get their hands dirty.

I piss off (and on) a lot of people so the down votes are a often a simple byproduct of being here.

I've never seen a skid steer trencher that could do much more than 4' deep x 1' wide, but if ebola gets going in the rich/industrialized world- some crazy machinist might cook one up.

As to going long CAT - I offered a road building contract in West Africa that didn't even have to go through a tender process (so not quite a no-bid deal but still damn sweet) to two of the largest engineering firms in Europe last month. They're scared shitless of Ebola, even with significant experience in the region. So I hope any investment thesis in CAT doesn't rely on West Africa contributing anything to their recovery, because I don't see the region contributing to their top line anytime soon.

Perhaps I could put some of the local ebola hoaxers in touch TPTB's heavy equipment operators...

Hasmat suits aren't worth a pinch of shit!

(Ratio of HCW staff infected) to % of ( everyone else ) Unless they use the same protocalls that are, and always have been used for ebola in labs, I.e + pressure suits it is a waste of time and the guvernment is just BS'ing the lot of us cos they know it!
