Putin Warns Of "Nuclear Power Consequences" If Attempts To Blackmail Russia Don't Stop

Tyler Durden's picture

Vladimir Putin slams President Obama for adopting a "hostile" approach in naming Russia as a threat to the world in his recent UN speech. From an interview with Serbia's Politika newspaper, Bloomberg reports,

It’s futile for the U.S. and its allies to “blackmail” Russia over the Ukraine crisis, President Vladimir Putin said in a newspaper interview today.

Russia’s partners should remember the risks involved in disputes between nuclear powers, Putin said. He accused Barack Obama of adopting a “hostile” approach in naming Russia as a threat to the world in the U.S. president’s speech to the United Nations General Assembly on Sept. 24.

“We hope that our partners will realize the futility of attempts to blackmail Russia and remember what consequences discord between major nuclear powers could bring for strategic stability,” Putin told Serbia’s Politika newspaper on the eve of his visit to the Balkan nation today.

Putin said that Obama had identified Russian aggression in Europe as one of the three “major threats facing humanity,” alongside the Ebola virus and Islamic State.

“Together with the sanctions against entire sectors of our economy, this approach can be called nothing but hostile,” Putin said.

Attempts to pressure Russia with “unilateral and illegitimate restrictive measures” will impede efforts to settle the crisis, he said.

“How can we talk about de-escalation in Ukraine while the decisions on new sanctions are introduced almost simultaneously with the agreements on the peace process?” he said. “If the main goal is to isolate our country, it’s an absurd and illusory goal.”

Opportune timing with markets weak for some nuclear sabre rattling...

Why stop there? Leave J'lem and Mecca as a radioactive sea of glass for the next 10,000 years, and maybe the world has a half decent chance at peace.

Somebody should've snuffed Abraham in his cradle. You've all heard of accidental droning. Well, there's accidental phaser targeting.

Hey Spock, how's that time travel thing coming along? We got some targets to scan a few millenia ago.

Shocked? Angry? Well, it's not like the "Better for one man to die than a whole nation to perish" trick hasn't been used, and even on own its people. E.g., circa 36 AD. So spare me your compulsive self - righteousness, Zio hypocrite.

It is time for a realistic conversation between the leaders of the nuclear weapon states about the CONSEQUENCES OF NUCLEAR WAR.

The US and Russian nuclear arsenals pose an EXISTENTIAL THREAT to continued human survival.

Failure to acknowledge this threat allows the maintenance of launch-ready nuclear arsenals that amount to a self-destruct mechanism for the human race.

Nuclear war is suicide for humanity.  Why do we allow these fools to continue to threaten each other and ALL OF US with nuclear extinction?

If Putin really wants to make a statement, he'll ban flights from Africa to Russia FIRST to stop Ebola from spreading.  Then the "O" will be stuck playing catch up.  He'll have no choice at that point and will be forced into action. The presstitutes in the breifing room will be whining:  "Putin banned flights, why didn't we?"  And the press secretary will say "but we already had a tenacious, adaptive response in place!"

Not to be taken lightly, methinks Putin: Nazi virus ‘vaccine’ losing effect in Europe:

"The coup d’état in Ukraine is a worrying example of growing neo-Nazi tendencies in Eastern Europe, Russian President Vladimir Putin told a Serbian newspaper. He stressed that “open manifestations” of neo-Nazism is also commonplace in Baltic states."

http://rt.com/news/196292-russia-sanctions-isolation-putin/

“Washington actively supported the Maidan protests, and when its Kiev henchmen antagonized a large part of Ukraine through rabid nationalism and plunged the country into a civil war, it blamed Russia for provoking the crisis,” Putin said.“Any unbiased person knows that it was not Russia who staged the coup d’état in Ukraine, which led to the grave internal political crisis and a split in society.”

Putin is trying to communicate with the "grown ups", who are old enough and wise enough to recall how careful the major powers tread during the cold war. Strategically, the Russians cannot allow the USA to control the Black Sea and the lands that stretch along its northern shores. Americans have no business going there, but to cripple Russia. That won't happen without war.

Crimean authorities imposed a temporary moratorium on the removal of banned literature in the Crimea, said the head of the Republic Sergey Aksenov at the meeting with the Crimean pilgrims who visited the Hajj in Saudi Arabia.
first of Muslim families from several areas of the Peninsula turned to Aksenov complaints on the fact of raids on their homes in order seizure of banned religious literature, reports RIA " Novosti ". The conflict arose due to the fact that a list of literature, which was razreshen in Ukraine, in the Russian Federation is prohibited. Before the Crimean list of prohibited religious and extremist books was not reported." we will not become any investigative activities in part of the acquisition literature. We give a quiet time to go to normal peace format. Let us assume that we shall be a transitional period when We must prisposablivalis, to understand that We are in the Russian Federation ", - noticed Aksenov. Remember, February 27, 2014 once the Supreme Council of the Republic expressed his distrust of the Council of Ministers of Crimea, Aksenov was appointed as the new Prime Minister. After signing on March 18 of the Treaty on the accession of the Crimea and Sevastopol to Russia Aksenov was headed by the Council of Ministers of the Republic, and on April 14, was appointed acting head of the Crimea. October 9, all 75 of parliamentarians of the State Council of the Crimea voted for the appointment of the head of the Republic Aksenova for the next 5 years.

Don't shit yourself.  This is causing serious pain in Russia and Putin is on the hot seat.  Nobody can intelligently argue otherwise.  The real issue to discuss is not IF Putin/Russia is getting desperate but WHAT will be done in retaliation beyond just acting macho and talking tough.  Things could get really nasty overnight if someone decides "enough is enough".  I still think Putin is praying for an early, hard winter so he can be televised turning the values on the pipelines.  Europe would puke a giant fur ball and Russia would still be facing a shitty situation itself.  Maybe that would be the catalyst for everyone trying to get along a little better.

Never forget that Russians are good at chess, and Russia the country plays the 'long game', which goes something like this:

1.  Run the Soviet Union into the ground, then part it out into 15 different sovereign states;

2.  Scratch head, attempt to reconstitute what it can of those 15 different sovereign states through various acts of force, cajoling and outright propaganda;

3.  Scratch head again in amazement that the rest of the world doesn't appreciate Russia's attempt at Soviet Union V2.0.

Putin has jumped the shark with the invasions of neighbors.

What was it that Obama really ment when he asked Medvedeb to wait until a second term?  Was that understood to be a green light for Putin's expansion plans?

Sanctions are wrong.  Sanctions are stupid.  The way the annexation was done was wrong. The way the annexation was done was stupid.

The attitude that all the wrong belongs on one side, and all the right on the other is naive and/or schizophrenic.

These things are being done for bigger geopolitical reasons.

And no nation has a patent on sociopaths.

You don't hate downvote me because I blame the US and EU.

You hate and down-vote me because I also blame Russia.

Having the Russian Army leave the base in Sevastopol BEFORE THE ANNEXATION created a civil war in Ukraine.  From that moment, any vote looked coerced.  From that moment, Eastern Oligarchs thought they could do whatever they wanted, and that Russia would bear the consequences. From that moment Kiev could not negotiate without admitting that Russia had more control over their country than they did - and hence were not a country.

Crimea is still celebrating.

Ukraine is in Civil War.

Russia has a civil war on its border.  That is shitty chess.

There is a new Cold War that benefits no one.  That is shitty chess.

You can continue to proclaim that Putin is the second coming of Christ, and that all Russia does and will do is worthy of Sainthood.

But you cannot explain it.  And you cannot make people believe it.

All you can do is attack them for refusing to declare the naked emperor has beautiful clothes.

There is no good ending possible while these are your positions.

So many down-votes because I refuse to say Russia has no blame.

Let me say it again.

This emperor, too, is naked.

All this could have been avoided if the Russian Army stayed in sevastopol until AFTER the referendum.

All this could have been avoided if the US avoided foreign entanglements.

All this could have been avoided if Russia did not use state power to prevent their customers from having other gas suppliers- competing with a gun rather than a market.

All this could have been avoided if the EU would not make promises they cannot keep to factions in foreign lands.

All this could have been avoided if people could see that there is nothing in Ukraine worth risking the future of humanity.

All this could have been avoided if people could see that all these emperors are naked, not just the foreign ones.

Your emperor is naked too.

If you hate me for speaking the truth, then truth is what you hate.

The universe hates those who will not acknowledge the truth.

None of this is good.  No side is speaking the truth.  The universe rules us all, whether we acknowledge it or not.

Beware.

It seems both Russia and many of the separatist in Eastern Ukraine would support federalization. Surely, no reason exist for Kiev to be opposed other than a loss of power.I see signs that much of Europe is ready to deal on Ukraine and Putin holds all the cards. It has become obvious Putin will not back down and will get his way sooner or later. More on this subject in the article below.

"The Army Operating Concept (AOC): US Army Drafts Blueprint for World War III: WIN IN A COMPLEX WORLD"

"The only logical explanation for this paranoid scenario is that the US military views every country beyond its borders as a potential enemy. Starting from the premise that the environments, the enemies, the locations and the coalitions involved in future conflicts are unknown, the US Army requires a strategy for war against all states and peoples. This strategy is derived from the unstated, underlying imperative that US imperialism exert hegemony over the entire planet, its markets and resources, and that it be prepared to militarily annihilate any rival that stands in its way."

I sort of chuckled at the time, but many times since have thought back and agreed with that. TV really did change the world.
