Putin Warns Of Risk Of Major Conflict, Says Dollar Losing Reserve Currency Status

Tyler Durden's picture

Having been relatively quiet for a while, Russia's leader Vladimir, speaking in Sochi (following meetings with Middle East crown princes who confirmed Russia as a key partner - "isolated"?), has unleashed his most aggressive statements with regard the failing world order:

  • *PUTIN SAYS U.S. DOLLAR LOSING TRUST AS RESERVE CURRENCY
  • *PUTIN: WORLD WITHOUT RULES IS POSSIBILITY; ANARCHY GROWING

Adding that the risk of major conflicts involving major countries is growing, as well as the risk of arms control treaties being violated, Putin exclaimed that the US-led unipolar world is like a dictatorship over other countries and that "US leadership brings no good for others," and calls for a new global consensus.

Having met Crown Prince Al Nahyan of Abu Dhabi in Sochi, who confirmed that Moscow “plays a very important role in the Middle East," and added that he had no doubts that his country and Russia “are bound by a privileged relationship," it appears Russia is less "isolated" than the West would have many believe.

As Bloomberg reports:

  • *PUTIN SPEAKS AT MEETING OF VALDAI CLUB IN SOCHI
  • *PUTIN SAYS WORLD GROWING LESS SECURE, PREDICTABLE
  • *PUTIN SAYS NO GUARANTEE OF GLOBAL SECURITY
  • *GLOBAL SECURITY SYSTEM IS WEAK, DEFORMED: PUTIN
  • *COLD WAR ENDED WITHOUT PEACE BEING ACHIEVED: PUTIN
  • *PUTIN SAYS COLD WAR `VICTORS' DISMANTLING INTL LAWS, RELATIONS
  • *U.S. HAS WORSENED DISBALANCE IN INTL RELATIONS: PUTIN
  • *PUTIN SAYS U.S.  ACTING LIKE NOUVEAU RICHE AS GLOBAL LEADER
  • *PUTIN SAYS WORLD LEADERS BEING BLACKMAILED BY `BIG BROTHER'
  • *U.S. LEADERSHIP BRINGS NO GOOD FOR OTHERS: PUTIN
  • *PUTIN SEES GLOBAL MEDIA UNDER CONTROL, UNDERMINING TRUTH
  • *PUTIN SAYS WEST CLOSED EYES TO INTL TERRORISM ENTERING RUSSIA
  • *PUTIN CALLS U.S. SELF-APPOINTED LEADER
  • *PUTIN: UNIPOLAR WORLD LIKE DICTATORSHIP OVER OTHER COUNTRIES
  • *PUTIN SAYS MANY COUNTRIES DISENCHANTED W/ GLOBALIZATION: PUTIN
  • *PUTIN SAYS U.S. DOLLAR LOSING TRUST AS RESERVE CURRENCY
  • *RUSSIA WON'T BEG FOR ANYTHING: PUTIN
  • *SANCTIONS UNDERMINING WORLD TRADE ORGANISATION RULES: PUTIN
  • *RUSSIA ISN'T WALLING ITSELF OFF FROM WORLD, PUTIN SAYS
  • *RUSSIA READY FOR DIALOGUE ON NORMALIZING ECONOMIC TIES: PUTIN
  • *PUTIN: WORLD WITHOUT RULES IS POSSIBILITY; ANARCHY GROWING
  • *PUTIN CALLS FOR NEW GLOBAL CONSENSUS, INTERDEPENDENCE
  • *PUTIN: CONTINUED USE OF FORCE IN UKRAINE MAY LEAD TO DEAD END
  • *PUTIN SAYS U.S. CAN'T HUMILIATE ITS PARTNERS FOREVER

Escalation? It seems sabre-rattling is picking up as The Washington Times reports,

Russian military provocations have increased so much over the seven months since Moscow annexed Crimea from Ukraine that Washington and its allies are scrambling defense assets on a nearly daily basis in response to air, sea and land incursions by Vladimir Putin’s forces.

Not only is Moscow continuing to foment unrest in Eastern Ukraine, U.S. officials and regional security experts say Russian fighter jets are testing U.S. reaction times over Alaska and Japan’s ability to scramble planes over its northern islands — all while haunting Sweden’s navy and antagonizing Estonia’s tiny national security force.

“What’s going on is a radical escalation of aggressive Russian muscle flexing and posturing designed to demonstrate that Russia is no longer a defeated power of the Cold War era,” says Ariel Cohen, who heads the Center for Energy, National Resources and Geopolitics at the Institute for the Analysis of Global Security in Washington.

“The more we retreat, the more we are encouraging Russia to behave in a more aggressive way,” Mr. Cohen said. “We need to be engaging more deeply with our Central Asian allies, but instead we are in the process of abandoning turf to Russia, and it’s wrong — it’s against our interests geopolitically to let Russia feel that they all of a sudden have won all the turf without firing a shot.”

That all depends where you live doesn't it?  Aske the people in placess like Watts, Compton, Detroit, New Orelans, South Side Chicago, Cleveland and other places where it isn't safe to walk at night or sometimes the day time about unalienable dignity of each human being.

I was in Florida one time lost, walking, looking for a taxi at 3:00 am.  Cops took me in for three or four hours for my protection, said a white guy wouldn't make it.  On the other token, my father and I were walking in downtown Tijuana about 15 years ago at 3:00 am, and felt safe.

US society is not responsible for the hair-trigger propensity for violence that permeates the black community. Blacks themselves are. Unfortunately, radical Progressive politicians must ensure that the problems in the black community are never fixed; else, they'll lose millions of votes. For proof, see this election and the omnipresence of the race card.

If there is a lack of human dignity in the black community, that detestable circumstance is perpetuated by the USA radical left whose lust to win elections and gain power is unbounded.

So it was a Russian sub in Swedish waters, after all....

It was towed to St. Petersberg yesterday morning at 5:30am by Russian tug.

Instead of stamping and shouting like a child, Putin needs to stop aggressing his neighbours....

Using current cell phone camera technology all one has to do is take pictures of all employees coming and going out of these various .gov institutions tthen we will know who thy are.  After all they are employees for the taxpayer andthey do it to taxpayers don't they.

Maybe then we will see a big change in attitude when the tables are turned around.  Maybe someone can pony up some coin for drones so we can follow these spooks around and see what they do with drugs and guns and other stuff.

The FBI want a back door into cell phones.  I want a front door into FBI shenanigans.

All governments and military of the world know where it is all at.

They are not ignorant of what really has been going on in the world post WW2 but have put themselves in the USA boat so follow their narrative and propaganda, and get bullied, threatened and or attacked if they don't tow the line.

Governments know it was USA fucking around in the Ukraine to try and caused a conflict with Russia, because of Russia's protection of Syria no doubt. They know who shot down MH17 (you know the disappeared Control Tower conversation with MH17 and silenced controlers, and Indian pilots behind MH17)

They know the reason behind Iraq wars 1 & 2, Egypt, Afgahnistan, Syria, Iran game, Japan-v-China provocation......and so on.... We and Governments all know this is simply USA geopolitical games being played out 100% of the time.....

and we know Israel PM put Obama in his place with a phone call as well....showing Obama is nothing but a golfing puppet of the neo-cons....too hard for him to fight them, just follow their agenda...and do the bread and circuses act.

Germany knows it all, and all that who are behind it.

Putin is reminding all these US owned, puppet, pressured and supporting governments....that all their suffering and troubles come from one place. And so long as they keep their anus pointing to the sky they will be continually fucked over......for what....well what the US could offer these countries 30 years ago and today are not the same.

Putin reminding and making these govts think....and remind them in their governments they have an infiltration at every level those who don't have their country as first priority.....

AND the USA desperately wanting global economies to fuck themselves up entirely so the US doesn't lose its place geopolitically. They want Europe to fail, they want Russian conflict, ME conflict.....and so on.....the USA would fail totally if the globe took its own problems serious and applied proper remedies, not what the US installed puppets are trying to do.

Common sense will tell them the US economic engine is dead....domestic purchasing power destroyed...with low wages across 70% of the work force, all over indebted. There isn't even room for recovery as they take a decade to reduce individual debt. The domestic economy as a US powerhouse has been dealt a critical blow even before 2008...

Putin leads the world to throw off the advances and chains of the great Satan AKA the USA global zombie debt slave empire.

Switzerland gold initiative will set fire to the mountains of less than worthless US FED debt notes currently clogging the channels of international trade and start a domino effect that will usher back in a collateral based global trade system and leave the USA zombie debt empire out of the equation altogether, a despised pariah nation.

if you look at the impact of sanctions on Iraq and Iran, they have been incredibly severe. not effective in controlling the political power of each country, but severe in their impact on the citizens of those countries. economic sanctions are an act of war and you should consider if you think Russia has any quiet intention of going the way of Iraq and Iran? Is Russia in desperate need of the US oil technology or is China going to step in?

(if you even ask this question, you should probably go take the US Foreign Service Exam and replace one of those folks who clearly don't ask these questions.)

You are "traveling in mayonnaise."

Technology for oil exploration in the deepwater Brazil has plenty incidentally, teaches how to do.

Russians were teaching as American oil companies ride on the ice below 40 degrees Celcius!

Cubans and Iranians are under sanction of USA for decades, and no one died of hunger, on the contrary, are healthy populations without that over 50% of obese Kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk!

Generations of sanctions created a more cultured and introspecta society, people who did not create novels or watching shows with dumb people trapped inside a house.

Incidentally, you should search for an interesting fact that postpartum depression occurred in the USA in 1929 - the unemployed spent their time in libraries, is instructing.

Perhaps this explains - very - some actions taken individually by American soldiers during IIWW, the guys were extremely capable intellectually.

Today, in the post Crash people are at home watching TV and waiting for the check from Social Security.

Perhaps this simple comment do you observe their society in a different light.

I think, looking at history, the US will try to take on Russia to cement fossil dollar hegemony. Actually, they already are but not in any effective way. Putin will just sit back and let the banksters hang themselves. He won't be rode over roughshod but he will be ready to retaliate in kind. I don't think the war mongers get that.

"Today the target of Washington's Vladimir Putin. This is the height of folly and arrogance. Putin's public support far outweighs any other president in history. Currently, the level of public support for Obama and the United States Congress regime is very low to be compatible with a functioning democracy. If America is really a democracy, is the most dysfunctional democracy in world history. Practically anyone except the powerful private interest groups that have Washington, supports the American government. Everybody Washington despises. "

Don't know if this will show up, so many great comments.

I have lived outside of the USA for 6+ years, mostly in Asia.

I don't think that most of the world properly conceptualises Russia-USA-China.

This West - East thing is just wrong.

Russia uses the Cyrillic alphabet which is more or less the Greek alphabet. How much more Western can you get?

Russia has the Orthodox Church, just a splinter from the RCC.

Russia and Europe and the USA and ''The West'' are more or less the same, with very minor differences.

When compared to NE Asia, China and other Confucian Cultures, Russians and Americans are more or less brothers.

Russians will dislike that comparison...

This disagreement between Russia and the USA is NOT East-West.

It is a disagreement over how THE WEST is run and led.

Russia is a Western Power, seeking to guide The West differently than the USA-Anglo-EU post WW2 alliance.

The real and true E-W is Russia, EU and USA vs. China, Japan and NE Asia.

It is the USA and EU and UK that have succeeded in referring to Russia as '"Eastern"". They are anything but.

Readers ask me every day what they as individuals can do. Some probably are government trolls hoping I will answer "overthrow the government" so I can be arrested as a terrorist. My answer to the question is that people are powerless until enough of them are informed. If people get informed and take a stand, so people can force the government back under its control. If that does not or can not happen, democracy in America is dead, and our life as a free people protected by the Constitution and law against the power of the state is finished. "

Whether Putin is right or wrong regarding the eventual fate of the dollar, the dollar's near-term direction is up. Most global debt is denominated in dollars. As the coming deflationary depression deepens, the U.S. Dollar will become more sought after as people try to pay down their debts and save instead of spend. Contrary to the inflationist point of view, the dollar will rise over the next few years, not collapse.

Sometimes I truly wonder whether I'm viewing things from an inverse universe compared to many others. Is it not obvious that the West pushed Russia around in Ukraine, not the other way around? And is it not obvious that Russia's muscle flexing has only been occuring as a response to more aggressive stances by the west?

I am telling you, the zionist neocons in washington will be dragging the world into a new war if this continues. I guess they believe they have made the west's fantasy markets crash proof to become so aggressive, or maybe its all just a lie they are trying to hold up lest everything crashes together.

Putin is 100% right
Lets go forward and build a New World Order around BRICS

Thumbs up to BRICS
All nations should quit United Nations, it is only an American controlled dictatorship.
All nations unite and boycott America and its cronies , they have only only become parasites feeding on us and destroying us at the same time (in order to maintain their own high lifestyle)

Look at Africa , most nations there are struggling where people have no access to basics like water, food, health care , education , roads . Even in Asia , billion are struggling . The middle east has only been fooled by west and now west is simply destroying it in every possible manner.

I remember the 'big' school yard bully push hard against the kid from the reserve who did not talk much. The big bully had many allies who were just smaller bullies. The kid from the reserve never gave an inch, always keeping his head up, never saying a word during the taunting and insults. Finally one day in mid winter the reserve kid who's name is Ronnie asked the big bully "Why" in an assertive tone, Big Bully (Darren) said he just did not like him, Ronnie then said, "What is in it for you?" The crowd of students and the other Bullies noticed that Ronnie was not backing down from Darren and for those of us who witnessed the conversation knew the answer was that Big Bully Darren just want to project his power, to cause fear in everyone for the purpose of later manipulation and we knew instinctively that Ronnie was confronting Darren in a very serious way. After a long pause of silence Darren tried to shove Ronnie one more time, it was pure folly, this was the end for Darren. Darren took a beating from the smaller more determined Ronnie, it was the kind of school yard beat down that one never forgets, it was one sided from the start to the end, it was skill and fearlessness on Ronnie's part. That fight changed the dynamic of the school yard, from that day forward Ronnie was highly respected by all the students, he talked more often in class and we listened and we learned a lot from Ronnie. The school yard bullies were never the same, from that day on everyone new the truth, Big Bullies are hollow inside.

We have to understand that Russia is not the country on knees that american politicians desire, now Russia realizes that century XXI is very important for them, sharing  more than 10K kms with a dozen countries, being them (russians 140 million) while  2.5 billion habitants  other countries countries bordering them.

Russians have their own problems and wants to be an actor in the world, if we understand this instead of hysterically claiming against them we can get something.
