Martin Armstrong: "At What Point Does Revolution Take Place?"

Reuters has published the result of what is being touted as the Ignorance Index. The one question as an example: “Guess how many U.S. girls aged 15-19 give birth each year. Go ahead, guess. If you calculated the number at 3 percent you’re correct; if you guessed 24 percent, you’re American.”
I rarely watch TV. If I do, it tends to be national news – never local that think a burning house is news or some guy shot his wife in a domestic dispute. I was at dinner and the TV was on. I could not believe the TV advertisements for the elections. They are all NEGATIVE calling the other a liar or misrepresenting the facts on everything. One said the candidate cut the number of police, made the streets more dangerous and then shows a picture of ISIS and then said she raise taxes. Then the very next advertisement flips and calls the other a liar for something or another. There was ZERO advertisement about anything other than vote for me because I lie less that the other liar.
It seems that the Ignorant Index may be more tied to the bias and lack of integrity of the media. They focus on sensationalism to gain readership and in the process focus of one thing and create false images in the minds of the average person.
A classic issue is immigration and Muslims. Americans, according to the Ignorant Index, “significantly miss the mark on the proportion of the population that is comprised of immigrants, guessing 32 percent against the true number of 13 percent. Americans also overestimate the number of Muslims in the population, 15 percent versus only 1 percent in reality, and underestimate the number of Christians, 56 percent to 78 percent. ”
It seems as if the problem is not that Americans are ignorant, they are being fed nonsense by the media to sell newspaper and TV advertising. We have fallen into a cycle of Yellow Journalism that was begun by Pulitzer. It was Pulitzer for created the Spanish-American War by making up shit to sell newspapers. The famous Pulitzer Prize given by Columbia University is named after the father of Yellow Journalism – go figure!
One good place to start is OUTLAW negative advertising. COMPEL political candidates to state what they stand for rather than calling their opponent a liar. Then if they do not vote for what they profess and knuckle under to party rule, that should be FRAUD and time for a vacation in the “Big House” (Penitentiary named after a place you were supposed to be silent and do penance).. We seem to elect people for no reason and then wonder why nothing changes. Obama’s vote for me for real change has been a joke – he kept the same people Bush had in place. This is why polls place politicians at 7% trust factors. The days of Jimmy Carter, Ronald Reagan, and Maggie Thatcher who at least stood for what they believed in regardless of what people thought, are over. They were at least ethical.
At what point does revolution take place? It does not appear to be a percentage in our review of history, but the economic trend. In other words, turn the economy down and the percent of discontent rises exponentially. So beware – not ghosts and goblins, but politicians 2015.75-2020. So perhaps Americans will wise up only when the economy turns down and the Internet provides a greater proportion of real news compared to mainstream media. Indeed, the younger generation under 40 rely on the internet and those who subscribe to newspapers or watch the TV news are diminishing rapidly. This in itself will be a dynamic shift that restores freedom of the press and only then perhaps we will see Americans rise in the Ignorance Index.

The first domino is my personally withdrawing support from the current fraud-based US economic system, and being willing to pay the price that is attached to such a withdrawal. You obviously don't understand how EBT (Electronic Benefit Transfer) cards work. They can typically be used for more than one purpose. One purpose is to hold credit for Food Stamp-based purchases; the other is to hold cash benefits under the state's welfare program (TANF or Temporary Assistance for Needy Familes is one such example). Food Stamp credit may only be used for qualifying food purchases; TANF spends like cash. You swipe the card, select the proper funding source, enter your PIN, and off you go like any other user of a debit card. Actually, in a lot of states you can even have this benefit direct deposited in your checking account.
So all this hot air about limiting how and where someone can use their credit is a bunch of bunk. 1) How could they limit you if you have it direct deposited in your checking account, 2) what's to keep you from pulling the cash at any ATM in the world and walking into any other establishment and spending said cash. Answer: nothing. It's like closing the barn door after the horse got out.

There generally no revolution without famine. That's how it typically works, and that's what it's going to take this time around as well.
I'm doubtful that the "interwebs" are supplying people with good useable info because the information is all over the freakin' map in terms of its quality. In order to use the internet as an information source one needs serious abilities to think; analyze disparate bits of information, bits of data, and then synthesize, or reassemble the accumulated information into matrix that is logicaly consistent; that is to say, makes sense.
Very few people are anywhere near capable of doing this. There are many reasons for this failure; no time (it takes a lot of time, sometimes one must follow multiple information streams for years), their analytical abilities have been effectively destroyed by the school system, and at the end of the day, too many people simply cannot because they are as dumb as a box of rocks.
Instead, what I am seeing is simply the complete destruction of consensus. Which is probably preferable to what usually happens (and that which probably will happen at some future point), which is everyone running off in the completely wrong direction.
It that was the case, you would see mass anarchy movements forming that would make the GATA talks look like sewing bee's. If anything I would argue 99% of Americans could care less about using the internet for searching out information, and mostly for consumption/bias reenforcement. As such, if the US economy does go a serious leg down further, either via yields going up (and thus, many are thrown out on the street, and Comcast would be a leading indicator of this) those who would be most likely to "revolt" will be pulled out of the internet, and their agitator voices will not add or do much for the discussion.
We already see this proof of concept happening in China. Have too many infractions against the CPC? They IP trace and ban you from the chi-net. Riots in the east provinces are not correlated at all to the internet chatrooms. In fact, newsflow to Govt. publications actually increase as people like the "flight to safety".

I think the author of The Jakarta Pandemic, Steven Konkoly, has a frighteningly plausible idea of a foreign enemy manufacturing a revolution in the USA, as described in his follow-on trilogy that begins with The Perseid Collapse.
There are billions of people on this planet that would like nothing more than to see the US Military killing US citizens on American soil, again, and vice versa.
Unfortunately, many of us, like myself, are vets who are still in very good shape, still serve on local SWAT teams and still very much connected to each other and active duty folks. I don't see the oligarchs or the political puppets or any of their children executing such a plan.
The problem is the SWAT teams are still focused on executing no-knock search warrants on non-violent drug offenders, getting 75 year olds to pay their "fines", repressing generally docile protestors, instigating violence with agent provacaturers, and focusing on terrorizing local communities with all of your Federally funded toys.
It's kind of hard to have a revolution when the boys in blue keep harassing the average citizen for code violations and enforcing "the law", while the oligarchs sits on their perch stealing from us all.
If you guys were actual peace-keepers, as opposed to just being worries about officer safety, then I would feel differently.

Are you saying there are non-LEO SWAT teams?
The only non-LEO SWAT teams I've heard of are those that serve some unrelated function in FED regulatory entities, like the EPA or Student Loan collection. As far as I am concerned, these non-LEO SWAT teams are worse than those associated with LEO.
I could be wrong here; I'm not a LEO expert by any stretch. Perhaps there are independent SWAT teams that have self-organized to defend individual sovereignty and not serve as enforcers of government will.
If I'm reading you correctly, though, that's what you are suggesting others do, or else they are just lazy stupid hypocritcal hacks. Can't say I agree with your assessment of others in this respect. After all, there are considerable risks associated with organizing entities with pointy assets (lead syringes) to oppose TPTB.
If one has prepared themself physically and intellectually to take a stand against tyranny, even if they haven't organized with others, they're three steps ahead of 90% of the rest. They should be commended for thinking freely, because that's where action begins.
Maintaining one's involvement in 'official' oppressive entities to keep one's finger on the pulse is the worst form of selling out.

Many of us thought that initially as well. Know what the local guys are up too has it's benefits.
I suggest you take a deep breath, remeber why you signed on the dotted line, something about a constitution, and re-read "The Art of War" as well as the book HH suggests above. Nothing good/valuable happens without sacrifice.
