Caught On Tape - How The Children Of Chinese Oligarchs Live It Up In SoCal

Tyler Durden's picture

Submitted by Mike Krieger via Liberty Blitzkrieg blog,

The interesting thing about America in 2014, is that the worship of our own domestic criminals just doesn’t cut it anymore. In order to ensure our celebration of corruption is crystal clear to the entire planet, our “leaders” have eagerly opened the floodgates to criminals from all over the world. The most recent focus has targeted corrupt Chinese officials and their children, which makes sense as China is cracks down on corruption. While capital moves to where it is treated best, apparently so does criminality.

I have been highlighting this trend all year, with the post: Open the Floodgates – Chinese Inquiries on U.S. Real Estate Soar 35% After Easing of Visa Rules, being the latest. In that piece, we learned that:

Chinese inquiries about real estate investment in the United States surged 35 percent this week after the two countries agreed to extend the terms of short-term visas, China’s top international property portal said on Friday.

This is a win-win for the corrupt establishment. Housing prices continue to go up, which benefits the financial oligarchs who poured billions into real estate only to find out they killed the buy-to-rent trade in the process as impoverished Americans can barely afford leases anymore. It also benefits University Administrators, who wish to continue jacking up tuition but are running into a serious problem: American youth a flat broke. No worries, just import foreigners to fill the gap.

Don’t take it from me though. The Wall Street Journal published a post titled: U.S. Graduate Schools Rely More on Asia. Here are some excerpts:

Applications to U.S. graduate schools from Asia, led by India, have jumped in recent years, but total enrollment at programs has only inched up as mounting debt appears to be suppressing the number of American applicants.

International students now make up 17% of all U.S. graduate students, with more than half studying engineering, science and business, according to a report to be released Wednesday by the Council of Graduate Schools. This year has seen an 8% uptick in overseas students, while enrollment from U.S. students has stayed flat, the report said.

Graduate-school debt may be keeping U.S. students away, said Jason Delisle, an education analyst at the New American Foundation, a left-leaning Washington think tank.

That debt has weighed on prospective students. Between 2008 and 2013, total graduate enrollment increased by just 0.7%, according to a 2013 report by the Council of Graduate Schools, but growth in the number of international students is up between 7% and 10% for each of the past four years.

That growth was fueled by Chinese students until 2012, when their numbers plateaued. In the past two years, the offers of admission to Indian students have climbed 30% and 24%, respectively.

On a related note, remember former head of the the Department of Homeland Security, Janet Napolitano, aka “Big Sis”? Well she is now President of the University of California system, and is using that position to push through a 28% tuition hike so that administrators can get huge pay raises. Bloomberg reports that:

A University of California regents committee approved a 28 percent tuition increase amid protests by as many as 400 people who stormed metal barricades and broke glass at a meeting in San Francisco.

400 hundred American slaves? So what. Talk to the Maserati.

The full board is scheduled to vote tomorrow on the plan, which would end a three-year tuition freeze at the 10-campus system. The proposal set UC President Janet Napolitano, 56, the former secretary of Homeland Security, at odds with Governor Jerry Brown, a 76-year-old Democrat who won election to an unprecedented fourth term this month.

The plan calls for raising tuition as much as 5 percent annually for five years. The increase would push undergraduate tuition to $15,564 a year by 2019 from $12,192 now.

Napolitano’s tuition proposal comes two months after the regents approved pay increase of as much as 20 percent for four chancellors and increased the base salary for a new chancellor by 23 percent from his predecessor, said Lieutenant Governor Gavin Newsom, who is an ex-officio member of the board.

“The University of California can’t bestow pay raises on its top earners with one hand, while continually taking more from students and their families with the other and deflecting criticism by laying its solution at the door of taxpayers,” Newsom said.

Sure they can. Just enroll more foreign students who can actually pay. American plebs lose again.

Here are some additional articles on how U.S. officials are welcoming criminal Chinese funds into the states:

Welcome to Arcadia – The California Suburb Where Wealthy Chinese Criminals are Building Mansions to Stash Cash

Chinese Purchases of U.S. Real Estate Jump 72% as The Bank of China Facilitates Money Laundering

Zillow Opens the Floodgates to Chinese Buyers in Order to Keep Housing Bubble 2.0 Inflated

With all that in mind, watch the video below. While it’s certainly not the fault of these “students,” it’s nevertheless very concerning to see a kid with barely any peach fuzz on his face talking about how he owns three Ferraris. Where did this money come from? Nobody seems to care as long as the status quo gets paid.

We should just get it over with an change the words on the base of the Statue of Liberty. I propose:

Give me your corrupt, your crony, your oligarch masses yearning to launder money free,

The criminal masterminds of your destroyed environment and police state.

Send these, the pampered, the private jet setter to me, I open my hands to your golden yuan.

To the ZHers oggling these luxury cars, and feeling twinges of disgust, jealousy or anger because of what these kids have and what you do not have: Let it go.

Those are the right emotions to have if you want to reform the government, and restart the system which I suspect a sizeable portion of ZHers here desire... but always consider the big picture as doing so would only give rise to the same eventual outcome in the long run: inequity.

it's time for humanity to evolve.

So short memory everyone has... In the 80s Japanese owned just as much as American real estate as the Chinese do now... And look how that turned out.... China takes on debt 25 times faster than America does.... Just remember look at the facts not news headlines......

No idea why everyone is so pro china... 3500 public executions, censorship, one child policy, 40 million people killed in Mao reveloution..... Sounds absolutely wonderful... We should take a one way ticket and stay over our visa and cross our fingers for amnesty...

Japan was not 1.3 billion people. And at the time, America still believe in John Wayne, American pie, and was 90% white, without apologizing for it. I, personally, think we should just have those nice gas chambers from the Nazis fired up and let everyone tell us just how many whites are allowed to survive. For the rest of you, off to the chambers! And don't whine about it.

What a bunch of cry baby losers this ZH crowd is, just like the rest of America.  The Chinese have all this money because of corruption?  Hogwash.  How many rich kids from Zimbabwe or Venuzuela do you see driving around?  Yet they have plenty of corruption.  Corruption doesn't produce wealth, you brain dead marxist zombies.  The Chinese have plenty of money because they work hard, study hard, and don't believe in welfare.  Now who's the communist?

Their GDP per capita has nearly doubled since the financial crisis began:

These reports always make me think about the real cost of chinese "wealth": environmental destruction on a massive scale.

What a trade-off really. Some wealthy chinese kids get to drive around in their expensive cars while all the rest of them poor chinese suckers are left behind, forced to breath through mouth masks, and face cancer sooner or later.

Cancer rivers, toxic air, fine dust, birth defects ... ah but look at those cars, look at us!

I guess it's all genetics, competition over - trying to secure reproduction rights, social status, apparently all without any regard for the future, for life, for the environment.

In creating the human brain, evolution has wildly overshot the mark. The disastrous history of our species indicates the futilityof all attempts at a diagnosis which do not take into account the possibility that homo sapiens is a victim of one of evolution's countless mistakes. ~Arthur Koestler, Janus: A Summing Up

An eminent British paleontologist, H. L. Hawkins, pointed out more than four decades ago (1940) that although mankind was able “to become the most successful type of animal that has ever existed . . . The reward of success in that direction is death.” Quoted in Raymond Pearl, The Natural History of Population (New York: Oxford University Press, 1939), p. 288. – William Catton - Overshoot

sounds like you belong in Cuba!

Rich kids all over the world and rich people everywhere. Having 5 Ferrari's and a LP700 is nothing. To lease anyone of these would cost around $1.2K to $2K per month depending on the car and final price, but over a 60 month period it isn't exactly bank breaking. They are students which means they sell up when they leave or terminate the lease. Parents generally have no idea what they are driving and they hand them a sizable amount p.a for school. So many do that.

I'm not saying its right, but I would not go as far to say its criminal to have rich parents. I'm sure there are some that are corrupt but there are also alot that earned their wealth legitimately.

I had a few Interviews for Projects near there...

WAMU, Dept, had some small asians (TWN/KOR/VSO) skirmishing about and heckling.   The interviewer was clueless as to the scope of the Project was involved in - only focused on the Monetary Value of the Marketing Budget instead of the Tech used to manage the Data Sources.  They were a regional bank with a big advertising Budget - I was involved with a Global Pharma Company's Finance Teams.

No wonder they were consumed and are no more.

MEDTRONIC - Mormon run Database Team.  Advertising Bible Studies everywhere in their Corner of the Floor.  Guy looked inbred, like the Mormon Banker at the Torrance F&M Bank who was getting yelled at by (His supervisor - and later by) VA Doctors (who called him a Fraud) when I walked pasted the doctors's office af few years back.

I also know one of the "Profs" there who I went to Secondary School with.  A Sociology Type who just spent too much time in School - who probably participated in and organized a few Student Riots and Gay Flash Mobs herself (She loves everything Leftie).  One thing that caught my eye, is that the "Extreme Lefties" here in California are far too prone to engage in Foul Play for one (or no) reason.  The Right Wingers (Teabaggers and Faux Patriot Chickenhawks) do some public demos as well; but they usually don't boil down to doing things that get them chased and beaten by the Riot Police and the annoyed neighbor.  All it takes is a "Code Word" that triggers the Limbic into a Car burning, Tree hugging, Quiet Riot citing Democracy while they racketeer the Public.  And especially in SoCal, there seems to be a self proclaimed Gay Lobbyist or two stalking/badgering their victims - while even being disdained by other Gays.

Eg., Prop 8 Voters targeted and verbally threatened by the Gay Lobby during the Election; and their eventual "shaming" and ousting of the Mozilla Foundation( Firefox Browser)'s CEO for exercise his Civil Rights to Vote.  POTUS MomJeans and SecState Clinton supported the Prop as well as over half the State.

I prefer the "Civil Union" designation - with Legal recognition instead of ramming a Social Engineering Scam via the Lefty Courts to redefine the Tradition observed by Human Civilization for a small percentage (IIRC, less than 2% in Silicon Valley).

Tolerance may have been requested; but Tolerance was never acceptable.  They want everyone to be "Fawning with Approval" at every bit and angle of their Lifestyle.  Straight is the New Bigot.  Tolerant, truth tellers, and those who think Coprophilia/Sodomy/Paederasty/Paedophilia(those in delusional denial of their Lobby's Advocacies are reminded of Mr. Henry Hay)  are either uninteresting, abnormal, wrongful, that they should not be taught to children, unsanitary, or disgusting -  are the new "Gay Haters".

It's "all about them"; and I've seen too many sociopaths along them.  Do I go out of my way to make a Gay Person's Life Miserable?  No.   I worked for and managed a few; and their males seem to be more distracted, co-dependent, immature, spiteful,  and intrusive of people's personal space more than not. Even had a subordinate in the "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" Navy degenerate into a drunken Asshound who (from what I've read on the Conduct Reports) couldn't keep his hands off of others, out of his pants off hours among others, and off of other Men's Asses at Happy Hour.   Eventually it got into "Breaking and Entering", "Public Lewd Acts" (funny the Cult monkeys have slandered me with that line), and "Sexual Harassment/Assault" (thankfully, it didn't get very bad).  Gender/Orientation of Perp and Victim didn't matter in this case.  That one was booted off the Island the next day...

I could care less what they do in private; but I do find their attempts to make Office Bldg Men's Rooms "Orgy Shacks" and Project Meetings as a stage for Gay-Flirting Banter Sessions rather disgusting. Get a Room.  In a Hotel or your own house.  After Hours.  And STFU about your Gayscapades at Work - we don't want to hear strangers' "Heterosexual Love Stories" at Work either.

Pardon the lame editing.  It's time to wrap this up for the night.

Yes, isn't life grand when you can pay workers less than it costs them to live, so they fall further and further in debt to the company store? Isn't it amazing how much wealth you can accumulate when you house people in 2' X 3' X 5' cages on rooftops? I cannot wait for those great freedoms to come here!

honestly, their cars are drop in the bucket.

My friend in HK owns 8 supercars with a phantom and each cost 2x what they do in the US. He's the only person in the family driving. Cost around $20M HKD for them all. He operates a business like e-Trade. He's definitely not a criminal.

Another friend owns 2 Pagani's and a dozen classic and old supercars, just the 2x Pagani's cost $40M HKD (approx. $5million USD) on the road. So when you talk rich, there are levels of it and this guy isn't even close to being a tycoon.

I feel like a street beggar compared with them, but I do not despise or hate their success (I own a LP560, R35 GTR, M3 CSL).

I'm sure some of these college kids will pretend to be masters of the universe etc, but that is just bad manners and I'm sure its not all of them. Happens with every country that has well to do people!

"it’s nevertheless very concerning to see a kid with barely any peach fuzz on his face talking about how he owns three Ferraris"

If the richest kid running around could only afford an old Ford Pinto, where would that leave the rest of us?

Ah, but that's part of why ZH is so popular. A tip of the hat to the left, and the otherwide envious. Just remember, if you're going to celebrate envy, you have to accept the rest of the b.s. that comes with it (socialism, french/russion revolution, etc)

Exactly.  The open display of jealousy makes me sick.  It's pathetic.

"That guy is rich."
"I'm sure he worked hard and earnt every penny."
"His kid drives a Ferrari."
     "THIEVING BASTARD!!!"

"I can't get a job."
"We buy everything from China because it is cheaper."
"That Chinaman has a Ferrari."
     "THIEVING BASTARD!!!"

A lot of hatred for these Chinese, but if you have to hate then hate US Corporations and their collusion with the US Government that gave away the national wealth.

Jack Ma, who owns Alibaba, recently said he cannot buy non-polluted food in China. And they want us to send our chickens there to be "cleaned?" I check every can of food to ensure that none of them say China; But the kicker is we don't know if some of the ingredients in any particular product COME from China.

They there is this, anyone looking for a nice Christmas gift should check on ebay for the one CENT necklaces sent with Free Shipping (normally a bid situation so you Might have to pay 99 cents by the time it is over!). Just exactly what metal are these made out of? No one knows because it always says NO TAGS and is sent through the post office which allows China to send in massive quantities that get, in essence, free postage via the deal with the US Post Office. Can you say poisoning our land?

Is that mainland Chinese or expatriate Chinese?  I bet expatriate Chinese have a lot more money.  Expatriate Chinese run a lot more southeast Asian countries.
