This Is The Body Camera That All NYPD Officers Will Soon Wear
As part of the final solution to inner city social unrest across America, President Obama has put forward recommendations that all police offers wear body cameras... this is what the 'eyes-are-always-on-you' NYPD police camera will look like. What ever happened to Google Glass privacy concerns?
The NYPD body camera program will increase trust building between the police & community.
The body camera program is launching in 6 commands. Training has started today at the new NYPD Academy.
This pilot program will take around 3 months to learn from the officers so we can equip other officers.
And here is Mayor De Blasio's Press Conference on the matter (fwd to 43:45 for start)

Now some folks.... might have..... privacy concerns........ but they just don't have enough faith in government....... to do...... whats right......
Even though body cams tend to reduce complaints and some police abuse, prosecutors will continue to refuse to prosecute cops when an unjustified shooting actually happens. Prosecutors to police are like the MSM to Obombya.
Next.
Let it happen.
Now Lil Al Sharpton and jesse have no cases in the future. They're done.
Next up the cameras that police wear for "our protection" will be equipped with facial recognition software and instantly alert the officer as it recognizes wanted individuals as he walks around.
What are the chances of an off switch?
The only thing that ends this is the ability to sue cops for their personal property!
Obama, the mayor, congress, and all public servants need to lead from the front on this brilliant mandate, and be required to wear an a/v recorder whenever they are on the job, meeting with Wall Street Banks that donate millions of dollars to their campaigns, and health insurance companies that have had their stocks increase 400% since Obamacare (Humana), and arms manufacturers, etc. Anything less is just tyranny, by definition.
I'm starting with the man in the mirror
I'm asking him to change his ways
And no message could have been any clearer
If you want to make the world a better place
Take a look at yourself, and then make a change
I'll take the UNDER on that wager.
Someone needs to put a camera on the fuckhead judges that let these paramilitary Nazi thugs kill people then get a 6 week paid vacation until cleared of all charges.
I'm sure when there is violence and abuse by cops on civilians....these same cops' body camera will not be used as evidence against them.
1. "My camera wasn't on."
2. "I forgot to wear my camera."
3. "The perp damaged my camera."
4. "We lost the tape."
5. "My camera fell off."
6. "The camera battery was dead."
7. "My clothing got in the way of the lens."
8. "Due to the officer's privacy concerns the public will not be allowed to view the video."
9. [insert your own here.]
These were the first thoughts to creep into my head when I read this headline
I love Big Brother!
9. My K9 partner ate the camera.
Truth, HH. If we're gonna surveil, then let there be eternal surveillance for everyone, at all times. If they need to see what we do on the job and off the job, we need to see what these cocksuckers do off the job too, as that's when most damage to the species is done.
totally agree...u think these fuckin cops wont fudge or omit the video for their own purpose?? everyone should be entitled to their own surveillence to ensure that we get as much evidence from all parties as possible...at least a camera is supposedly not physically dangerous....but maybe informationally dangerous to the govt...and they know it.
I agree 100%. I think those cameras would go great with the nascar style outfits they should be required to wear that has their 'sponsors' names all over them. Sure would see a lot of GS, JPM, and Lockheed logos.
Why don't we require everyone in the US wear cameras, and have a centralized team that monitors what everyone is doing to make sure no one is doing anything wrong, and we can call it the "Ministry of...........
Ministry of Privacy, in keeping with "1984" doublespeak.
You can do that, right? Sue a cop personally? They act on behalf of private corporations, so I see no reason why this cannot be done.
Yes, you can:
http://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/text/18/242
You may want to check out the concept of commercial lien, an incredibly powerful tool when properly used.
Next up should be a gun camera that activates when the weapon is taken from its holster.
The cameras are for us, not them.
Greetings from False Flaggerson, Missouri.
I can't wait to see this camera stuff play out in AZ. About a year ago one of sheriff Joe's deputies was wearing a camera while he did drug deals, hookers, etc. After that they banned camers on cops. They even passed a law banning cops wearing cameras.
Another states rights/fed overreach bone to pick.
If any court assumed victim's allegation are true during police camera was not working, Camera will be banned.
Facial recognition software to automatically recognize those "domestic terrorists" aka dissenters.
They'll pay for themselves just in lawsuit avoidence for the cops. It's a cottage industry here in Chicago. Lie when your "young black man" gets shot by police and get a multi-million dollar settlement.
This over a choke hold that choked a poor soul to death.
As humans we have the right to life, if you see another life be taken you have the duty to eliminate the aggressor.
This will happen the person will be labled as a terrorist that hates his/her government!
All of this should seem somewhat familar.....recent history shows these folks will not win they will loose and badly.
That instance was caught on camera, what makes us think a cop wearing a camera is going to matter?
Whatever keeps another city from burning at the hands of an uneducated group of thugs. I can already see it. Some black kid from Chicago, swinging a knife, will be gunned down after charging a cop. The thugs will scream "RACISS" and we can shove a video in their plump, EBT fed faces. Not that a few flat screens won’t be lifted, but maybe they will stop short before "burning the bitch down"
I am becoming more and more "separated" by these people. Race war? Bring it.
Wonder if this will work to rein in any of the bullies with badges out there.
3 junks from those Red Team a-holes and their blind allegiance to all things law enforcement.
Eyes are always on you....til they flip that little switch up. then its beatin time!
Cop turns off camera before beating female detainee

She was white so it doesn't matter.
Stop hurting yourself! Stop hurting yourself!
Downvoted by T.J. Hooker...fuck.
Ponch and John got you, too.
If it doesn't have a fake on/off button it'll be useless, just like the ones in ABQ.
Big Brother is watching to protect you
Training has started today at the new NYPD Academy.
Really, clipping on something requires training.
Training how to make it "malfunction" on cue....
They will teach them how to drool on the lens or blow air from the mouth to fog up the lens, when they need to.
Troops, this is a camera. Flip this switch here when you are about to do something unsavory and the device will go into "beating" mode. The video will show puppies (puppies!) and audio will be "God Bless America".
Good one . . . or maybe it could cut to a pre-recorded commercial.
will the cops be able to turn them off when they help themselves to bit of loot when a bust / search goes down?
"Suspect in custody. Signing off on skynet so I can concentrate on making sure all of this cocaine makes it back to headquarters."
"10-4, report to my office when you're done"
GoBigBro brand.
Next step..We all have to wear those.
... what about guns?
You don't already wear one of those everywhere?
We do, they're leased to us by Verizon, Sprint, Ma Bell...
Yep...manufactured by ChertoffCo, your sole provider of ZioSecurity.
No, memory scans and memory wipes will do the Man's work for him.
That seems unnecessary. What will I do with my telescreen...??
I say put one on every .gov employee and put the live feeds on the internet. We should be able to see what any bureaucrat is doing at any time! Might put the on-line porn business into bnkruptcy...
"put the on-line porn business into bnkruptcy.."
Might need to rethink that one.. ;)
Then all of the .gov employees would quit. Perfect!
I'm sure I'll get thumbs down, but I think this is a positive development. There is literally no other way to police these fucking thugs and keep them in line.
I'm sure they'll learn how to abuse / get around it... but I'm optimistic...
It'll go down like this:
http://kuer.org/post/saratoga-springs-police-officer-was-wearing-camera-during-hunt-shooting-camera-was-turned (off)
Every video of innapropriate action will never see the light of day, yet the nightly news will be filled with pro-police videos of the hoodlum rabble to stoke fear.
Put one on Bath House Barry; just keep the videos away from young kids.
I don't disagree that incriminating footage will get the "Lois Lerner treatment".... but at least we have the beginnings of accountability (in theory)....
I agree it is a positive development.
It also needs teeth.
If a cop testifies that he forgot to turn his camera on or any other bull then his testimony against the perp should be inadmissable. He should also face a penalty nearly as severe as say for an accidental discharge or being intox on duty (demotion, loss of pay, perhaps dismissal). If evidence shows that he intentionally turned his camera off for improper reasons then that should be an automatic felony and mandatory prison time on top of any penalty for the improper reason.
Solution:
OR
Edit: BTW FF it doesn't mean I disagree, I just have certain demands that exceed yours.
Now here is something we can agree on.
pods
Given that our emails and phone calls are already tapped, this isn't much of a Big Brother measure. I could do without the sensationalist headline. Would rather have all the cops' actions recorded so they can't falsely accuse me (as I've experienced, first hand) than delude myself into thinking that by not wearing cameras my privacy will be protected.
Introducing the CounterCam: Disguised as a pen or wristwatch, you can keep filming when the cop shuts his camera off!
That's a paddlin'....
On when it serves the police state, off when it would be "inconvenient" for it to be on.
Digital video files surviving to be "mistakenly erased" by the new guy/gal in IT; "oops".
We are going to film some folks
GoPro or.....?
CoPro
Officer is that a Camera in your Pocket or do you just have a hard on for doing your Job right now?
Wow, this was rolled out quickly. Like a day or two after Obama announced it. Sounds like they were able to put all the pieces together in a few days including the backend infrastructure. Seems as though this may have been in the works prior to the death of the gentle giant. Never like a crises go to waste and all that..
Actually, all this equipment already exists, and has for years. Nothing new here, at all.
Kind of like Chertoff's naked body scanners at the airports were rolled out within 2 days after that 2009 Christmas Day underwear bomber false flag total hoax.
Huh?
NYPD has been publicing trialing the cameras for months. Many major cities have been using them since well before Ferguson.
"What happened next, Officer?"
"The suspect grabbed for my bodycam. Fearing he would destroy the cam and evidence, I shot him."
"No more question, Your Honor."
Waiting for the first youtube to appear when he forgets to turn it off while arresting a hooker.
"You are arrested, now hands on your head and suck".
The data mineing would be interesting. Say over a year.
Long Youtube
Will we be allowed to respond in kind, with Vid-Cam streaming to the Cloud (for backup before it's confiscated as "Evidence" and then promptly filed by the same 'folks' who file IRS email)?
Or would that be an "unfair advantage" -- kinda like Citizens arming themselves with arms comparable to that of the militarized LEOs?
p.s. I know what I want for Christmas: "Pooh-see Galore" from Car Toys (Bear is syn. for Cops, right? And Pooh = bear)
But the stupidity gets better..
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6NZXuumwF2s
Great video...the voice-over comments of the poster say it all.
Can we get live feeds?
My, my they're very afraid.
What you mean "they", kimosabe?
Elites, Tonto.
He wins Teh Stupid.
Hmm funny how no one is recommending them be put on our politicans and the likes of Jessie, Al and, of course, racebaiter-1, our esteemed leader.
Wasn't there a story about cops sharing nude photos of women they stole from the iphones of women they stopped? Can it be a coincidence that the camera is clipped on at breast level?
"Yes, sir."
"No, sir."
"Am I under arrest, sir?"
Nothing else.
"Wow, this was rolled out quickly. Like a day or two after Obama announced it. Sounds like they were able to put all the pieces together in a few days including the backend infrastructure. Seems as though this may have been in the works prior to the death of the gentle giant. Never like a crises go to waste and all that.."
False flag?
Just don't ask them to set up a web site.
If they wanted the website to work, it would work. The IRS website conveniently works. As for your health care 1-800-F1uck-Yo
If you wanna have some real fun put microphones on 'em.
I think they have it backwards. Shouldn't WE be the ones wearing the cam in the event of a confrontation?
I think all politicians should have to wear these things, too.
it would be so much better if they just recruited decent people and not a bunch of testosterone loaded self haters.
Damn it, our corporate/govvernment overlords stay one step ahead of us! checkmate peoples!
Long new TLA: PBC (Police Body Camera). Because some well-paid PR Consultant told them so.
And expect a new TV show "PBC-1" coming to BBC-1, to condition the Masses.
Hey, I think I'm getting the hang of this ZH thing. Blogging is fun. Almost as much fun as spilling wine when it's time.
Start a website training people how to defy authority into the camera.
Well whats good for the goose is good for the gander, I already order mine as well
http://www.thehomesecuritysuperstore.com/lawmate-shirt-button-hidden-cam...
Creeps wearing google glass were not regularly beating folks or kicking diabetic coma patients while screaming 'are you done resisting arrest yet....they were just annoying. Cops on the other hand have gotten a bit out of control. Requiring documentation of force is an excellent idea. I'll tolerate the occasional video of me in return for better police behavior. I'd rather have my privacy violated slightly than my body violated permanently....maybe it's just me.
There is no joy in a life constantly surveilled.
Nothing to worry about here. The cameras will have the resolution of a 7/11 camera.
Money talks. There's a fortune to be made destroying people's lives. Just think of the possibilities. Grand Theft Auto 3D #86, marketed to 7 billion murkins on NSA's Fuckerberg Running Man network.
In the Land of The Free* Serfs you can be sure this is going to lead to COPS: Pain, Humiliation and Death tv series. The option to elect for suicide when being booked into the Los Angeles Island detention center is coming into view. Is this what Bush 41 meant? I think so...
Don't worry, when you get shot the battery will accidently die.
http://www.newsweek.com/crime-scene-medical-examiner-took-no-measurement...
Shouldn't that camera be facing toward the thugcop? When will the drone-companion be rolled out?
This and the valuted "Internet of Things"
I feel safer already.
Cops are paid mercenaries for corporations. Even this old cop says so...
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BgweRroogKg
here it comes http://www.gatekeeper-systems.com/
Cop: well, you see I was coming down with a cold and I coughed just then. I put my hand over my mouth and a large amount of phelgm came up. Some of it must have got on the camera lens, when I brough my hand down.
Proof that Zerohedge will complain about absolutely ANYTHING, including good solutions.
name one good thing about it. More Surveillance state...
Wonder how many politicians are invested in Cop camera stocks?
Can they stream the instant replays of the best daily beat-downs to the net, sort of like Sportscenter's Top 10 Plays?
It's a step in the right direction.
Hmm, I wonder if the multimillion dollar contract to supply these cameras went to a Democrat donor company?
Nah, even if it did, it would just be a coincedence, right?
How are Holder and DeBlasio going to feel about those little gems when they double the conviction rate of the very same "minorities" they were rolled out to shield?
Doh!
The Obama and Eric Holder camera.
It won't last long. Once Politicians are caught on camera they'll outlaw it.
Many street smart cops carry a 'clean' gun with them in case they need to plant it as evidence. Now they will need to carry a 'clean' or a 'defective' body cam with them too. I'm surprised it will take them three months to 'train' -- or maybe it just takes them that long to figure out the 'hack' to wipe out the last 10 minutes of video!
My guess is that this video evidence eill suppirt the cop in 95% of the cases - and in the other 5% the camera will malfunction.
I was on a gun possession trial jury where it looked suspiciously like a drop gun was used. The suspect was acquited due to no physical evidence linking him to the gun and inconsistency between the two cops testimony.
That is why civilians should be wearing pencams of their own!
My guess is that the majority of the video will consist of stops at fast food eateries, donut shops and some "tossing off" sessions, while on stakeouts.
"That's me beating the crap out of you.
And that's the replay of me beating the crap out of you!"
There should be a federal law covering ALL LEOs that
1. REQUIRES wearing body cams full-time by ALL LEOs under ALL circumstances
2. Makes the content of the body cams the legal property of the state and federal courts AND imposes SEVERE punishments on LEOs who are involved in an alleged violation of civil rights and who claim that the body cam was not functioning for any reason or who destroy the contents of the body cam, eg LEO presumed guilty of alleged violations unless body cam recording proves otherwise, and LOOOOOOONG mandatory prison sentences for LEO.
3. If a LEO does not have a checked-out functioning body cam, then that LEO cannot go on duty, and cannot get paid or get credited for the any day on which a properly functioning body cam is not worn, AND an escalating process of punishments for repeat offenses, leading to termination with loss of ALL retirement & healhtcare benefits.
Unless & until you are fucked over by one of these gangsters in uniform, regardless of your race, politics, socio-economic status, etc, you will not understand or appreciate why these laws are required.
That would have a very chilling effect on informant relations . . . to say the least.
informants can use phones, email, txt, etc
You don't understand higher level cop/informant relationships. The best ones are very personal. long-term and often the informant is trusting the cop with his life.
They can meet in the informant's or the cop's home, or other private place - with the cop UNARMED, so he cannot claim that the dead victim "reached into his waistband" so of course the cop had to shoot him 3 magazine loads at close range because the victim possibly theoretically could have retrieved an RPG, AK, AR or other deadly weapon ....
Careful what you ask for. 1984, The Terminator, sky-net, getting the hint?
I want to hear your opinion AFTER you are fucked over by one of these gangsters in uniform - IF you are still alive to express it.
More evidence of treason to be ignored.
An American, not US subject
Will this become NYPD grainy UFO camera footage vs. 1440 x 1440 resolution 24-bit color depth taken by phone witnesses. Do these video camera’s automatically adjust themselves for action, whiteboard, night, beach or snow? Does the video camera light come on during night settings? This is fucking hilarious. NYPD might need to a carry around a white umbrella to seek proper lighting enhancements.
/LOL
"There were technical difficulties downloading the data pertaining to the complaint(s) against the officer. Sorry, have a nice day, and thanks for paying your taxes."
Are these wireless cameras with constant streaming?
Well, if that's so, then say hello to an increase to NYPD cancers...
Thats why i have a hard wired security system. Anyone can break into these wireless police camcorders. Watch and wait, hackers will be tracking the every minute of NYPD daily actions. The shelf life of this ordeal will last no more that 6 months.
The ones being trialed by NYPD are not streaming nor wireless.
Seems like some good reality tv lol. And drinking game Every time a niger gets a beating take a shot...
That's what the cop said... ba dum tss
Are those body cams also voice recorders?
Whats to stop some errant LEO from accidentally dripping some mustard on the camera whilst he/she is performing his/her civic duties illegally?
I am all for cops wearing body cameras. I see that as a benefit to Me. It's just like message boards, You can't say, "I didn't say that" when you can go back a few posts and see for your damn self who said what.
Are you really so naive? They will only ever be used to present evidence against you.
You assume I did something wrong. Lets look at the film.
Good for you Roadhazard. We don't live Fallujah Afghanistan. I grew up around Police Officers via frends as a child. Theses fucking bastards are creating a new Military zone by social engineered intention. Ask any retired police officer or Military individual. I don't need to prove myself.
Ha ha ha, so the Cop Union is ok with this?
Ha, I remember when we handed out beepers to about 50 of our Teamsters. They went out to the yard, placed them under the truck tires and promptly backed over them. All at the same time. They came back in and handed me the pieces one by one with a smirk...
They thought they were funny until I switched every last MFer's route and called them back to the yard after every stop to get their next job.
They begged me for those fucking beepers back.
And that was how I belled the cats...
