Why Is The US Treasury Quietly Ordering "Surival Kits" For US Bankers?
The Department of Treasury is spending $200,000 on survival kits for all of its employees who oversee the federal banking system, according to a new solicitation. As FreeBeacon reports, survival kits will be delivered to every major bank in the United States and includes a solar blanket, food bar, water-purification tablets, and dust mask (among other things). The question, obviously, is just what do they know that the rest of us don't?
The Department of Treasury is seeking to order survival kits for all of its employees who oversee the federal banking system, according to a new solicitation.
The emergency supplies would be for every employee at the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC), which conducts on-site reviews of banks throughout the country. The survival kit includes everything from water purification tablets to solar blankets.
The government is willing to spend up to $200,000 on the kits, according to the solicitation released on Dec. 4.
The survival kits must come in a fanny-pack or backpack that can fit all of the items, including a 33-piece personal first aid kit with “decongestant tablets,” a variety of bandages, and medicines.
The kits must also include a “reusable solar blanket” 52 by 84 inches long, a 2,400-calorie food bar, “50 water purification tablets,” a “dust mask,” “one-size fits all poncho with hood,” a rechargeable lantern with built-in radio, and an “Air-Aid emergency mask” for protection against airborne viruses.
Survival kits will be delivered to every major bank in the United States including Bank of America, American Express Bank, BMO Financial Corp., Capitol One Financial Corporation, Citigroup, Inc., JPMorgan Chase & Company, and Wells Fargo.
...
The agency has roughly 3,814 employees, each of which would receive a survival kit. The staff includes “bank examiners” who provide “sustained supervision” of major banks in the United States.
...
It is not clear why the Treasury Department is ordering the kits.

One can only imagine what the Treasury department is thinking will happen in the near-future... while it is indeed good to be prepared, the timing as domestic social unrest ramps up, the driver of the recovery is crashing, and the Fed has stepped away is 'odd' to say the least.

Fin-banksters. Jump.
The reason for ordering these is that one of their buddies is getting the bid.
No...If thats all it was they would've just given them to fema instead and no one would think a thing about it. This is strange indeed. Just like the dead bankers and the missing flights.
I would have thought cyanide capsules would have been distributed. At the point the system crashes, the banksters are as useful as paperweights. Plus, dead men can't give witness against the government. .Gov is really brilliant leaking this. You let the world know you are giving the banksters a blanket and a Powerbar. Years ago, you let the world know your employees were given submachine guns and lots of hollow point ammo. When the shit goes down, which group are you likely to attack first? Which toolkit would you rather have?
You dont have to run faster than the bear. You only have to run faster than the slowest person running from the bear . . . .Gov is practically spraypainting the crosshairs on the banksters foreheads. . .
I believe an audit found them to have some deficiencies in their disaster-contingency plans. They're sending staff to conduct on-site reviews and are covering their bases to ensure these people are at least given a kit in the event they are caught up in a disaster.
Your broker/dealer and investment adviser entities must do the same thing...although not too many go to the effort of having kits for each person - except perhaps in Calif. where a 3-4 day earthquake kits are advisable (even for daycare center kids).
So, I don't think it is anything to get too excited about - except "Wow", they do get some good things in their kits.
I'm a compliance geek...sorry, don't hate me. I'm the "good" kind, not the bad kind.
Cheers!
Make sure you avoid windsurfing and Smart cars then. Oh, and don't use kitchen knives in the bath either.
The stuff in you avatar icon is better than what's in these kits.
On the positive note, I don't see potassium iodine tablets and gas masks...
On the 'negative' note, I hoped to see nail guns with a generous supply of nails...
Late during the seige of Stalingrad, when the Germans were pressed into the 'kessel' and only the Gumrak airfield was open, there was a load of food delivered that boggled the minds of those unloading. An entire plane full of salt and pepper. These kits are as timely as that plane full of salt and pepper.
th recipients of these "kits" are not "bankers".
they are clerical hired help, or the like, at the department
of treasury, who will feel cared for by receiving said kit.
that kit rather than pay.
.
the instructions that go with the kit are the really rich
part of the story. they will be instructed to leave their
abodes, homes(whatever), and evacuate with said survival kit.
that is right. leave your home with this provided bag of shit
and go on a journey to "safety".
now, that is hilarious; all for a government contract to an
insider to provide what amounts to materialistic feces to deceive
clerks and impress them with the idea your employer is concerned
with your well being, while simultaneously gratifying a few
simple junk suppliers and some local constituents/financial political
contributors.
.
this little stink gives insight to the big stink.
as they say ..
"no better beef and no better barrel" or something like
that. the brits designed it all.

I thought a "su rival" kit includes a complaint, a filing fee, and a subpoena?
Why Is The US Treasury Quietly Ordering "Surival Kits" For US Bankers? If that doesn't say it all as to where the rest of us stand in the heirarchy. Run Muppet, Run!
"The question, obviously, is just what do they know that the rest of us don't?"
How to handle money?
You meant "how to leverage debt" right?
All their thinking is help a friend that suppling them. If this is the real deal then body armor would be on the list. Then again there is always Xmas
not so quiet when everyone on zerohedge knows about it....
The Survival Kit contains $100 bills for wiping their asses, c'mon - it's paper and it won't tear even if you moisten it...
glock 21 gen4 30rd clip ya you better bring your A game ho!
Glock doesn't make a 30 rounder for the 21, Gen4 or otherwise. If you are using the Korean magazine, they won't need to bring their A game. Their W game will do fine as they'll just shoot you while you are picking your ass and racking you slide...
And the biggest tell to what an amateur you are is the employment of the word "clip". It's a magazine. You have to be a reporter, I'm guessing. Do you shoot your Glock all cocked to the side like they do in the moo-vees, homeboy?
Hope there ain't no parachutes on that list.
No combination rooshan phrase book and bible?
No combination rooshan phrase book and bible?
Why do you credit government with powers of precognition when they do the same things any sensible prepper would do?
If I store water, have a garden, and other preps you don't ask me ''Hey, Leraconteur what do you know that the rest of us don't?"...
All fiat money burns... cough, cough...
Looks like duststorm prep to me. Maybe Beijing pollution clouds are on their way across the Pacific?
Masks and nasal congestants would be also needed for smoke bombs or tear gas exposure.
Good call
This will take 20 to 30 days to procure and maybe 15 days to hand out. That gives me time to prepare the same for family and myself. We are getting ready for war and we all have our parts in this tragic play. Enjoy the Christmas holidays as never before.
This is what I interpret as American military attempting to alert the global powers of the situation on the ground in America. It may even be an attempt to call for aid from those who are free from the bankers' garotte.

The question, obviously, is just what do they know that the rest of us don't?
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The answer is, not what they know, but more so, what are they preparing for that we don’t see coming.
Of course see what’s coming! We talk about it all the time.
And you can figure it out from the list.
Examine the list.
This will tell you what, by the content.
What’s on the list?
Well, think about a survival G’nG pack for yourself. What’s the first thing(s) that you’d want and think Maslov…
Well, you ask yerselfs, “Self! What am I surviving?”
As in where? How long?
So you’ll have to figure out some must haves and some leave-at-homes.
Food. Protection. Shelter. Medical.
Notice how little food is there? About 1 days worth. Same for water.
This is NOT a 3 day Grab and Go pack. This pack is for the very short term duration. 24 hours maybe 36.
There’s no asswipe! AYFK? Laugh it up. I carry it in the truck. Laughter turns to tears, when you find out, “It’s a Buck-A-Sheet-Sweet!”
Hell, my mother had most of this stuff in her purse and that was just to got to the grocery store!
There’s no flashlight? Those little 3A LED lights are awesome!
Those dynamo lanterns suck. A light stick. What good is that? Signaling in the dark?
There’s no knife or saw for cutting wood to start a fire? No rope?
There’s no matches? Not even a lighter?
NO MATCHES?!?!
But lots of mild 1st aid stuff. Scraps, cuts, abrassions.
NOBODY puts this much medical in a GRAB and GO bag for a short term.
What is an Air Aid Mask in there? Look up what they’re used for.
Nobody packs any kind of emergency bag without having a potential threat in mind. Basic 1st aid, yes, but not all of this, given the person using this.
Decongestant tables? For what?
What kind of ‘survival’ are they preparing for?
URBAN SURVIVAL
Like when your bank is surround by thousands of people wanting to get their money out, as in a bank run, or are there for an Occupy movement.
That’s why there is no asswipe. There’ll be plenty in the building. Probably running water, too.
The cops and military’ll be there in a bit. “Hold tight!” 24-36 hours.
That’s what this kit is for and I’m sure of it. They’re preparing for urban unrest, and who do you think is gonna be high on the list of “Get’em!” when the economy folds?

The question, obviously, is just what do they know that the rest of us don't?
I don't know what they know that we don't, but I know something that they don't... and that is that they won't "survive" very long with that kit! But maybe they do know that... which brings up a whole different issue. ;-D
Some tips to The Fed on survival kits.No banker should be hired unless he was a boy scout.

Does anybody walking around 40 square miles of run down industrial wasteland surrounding Detroit need these?
No Place to run, no place to hide you sorry ass sell-out cum belching queens! Guys like me will turn your 200k defense to shambles with less than $5 worth of ammo AND a bad attitude. Any of you fucking clowns receiving such a joke of defense be warned now...............you were just thrown to the fucking wolves. You just think you got it made. And you do actually...instead of roaming the countryside for food you'll be fuckind dead. All your 200k is going to do is give your gods enough time to run off and hide while I slit your fucking throat.
Don't beat around the bush...
Tell us how you really feel.
And here I thought I was the only one with these feelings.
This is precisely the signal .gov wishes to send. 'Take the banksters', avoid the .gov employees at the Social Insecurity office, UDSA, and all the others (who are all armed to the teeth using your tax dollars). .Gov is setting up the banksters for slaughter (in fact there is good reason to liquidate them after the crash). It's like feeding hay to the cow right before you blow the cow's brains out. You dont want the cow's adrenaline to get flowing . . . ruins the flavor of the meat.
Upwards of 95% of all money spent by the government is a complete waste with no rhyme or reason to purchase such goods or services. To imply there is some good reason to order this shit is giving the dumb bastards way to much credit.
pork
head fake - distraction, or message to somebody other than the sacrificial lambs they will be sending them to.
this is good news, everyone knows whats going to happen, when is the unknown.
just think the size of the crowd that will gather over the 2 weeks they stay in the building, waiting for them.
at least the secretaries will have a chance to escape, no bosses show-up the secretaries will abandon ship.
little hint, assorted ferguson police, and city officials removed their famlies for safety reasons, their info. is public record, like gun-owners in ny.
don't worry, the ebt cards won't be refilled, so many people will be broke, and will have to stay home, ha-ha.
Tilt bed trailer with power winch, stun gun, block and tackle and Sawzall.
Beef, it's what's for dinner.
Don't forget to cut the brand out of the hide.
When 'interrogating' CIA employees, is your Sawzall in fact the first tool that comes out, or do you prefer the precision of a jig-saw?
trying to remember what the crew of the B52 in Dr Stangelove had in their survival kit? was it dollars, or gold? there were condoms and candy bars, as major Kong said, a fella could have a pretty good time with this stuff.
"Shoot, a fella' could have a pretty good weekend in Vegas with all that stuff." - Major T.J. King Kong (played by Slim Pikens)
Survival kit contents:
- One forty-five caliber automatic
- Two boxes of ammunition
- Four days' concentrated emergency rations
- One drug issue containing antibiotics, morphine, vitamin pills, pep pills, sleeping pills, tranquilizer pills
- One miniature combination Russian phrase book and Bible
- One hundred dollars in rubles
- One hundred dollars in gold
- Nine packs of chewing gum
- One issue of prophylactics
- Three lipsticks
- Three pair of nylon stockings
actually that "pretty good weekend" was in Dallas, but it was replaced/dubbed since JFK had died recently
I bet if properly motivated... a banker rat will hand over his kit to any person who asks in the right way...
The peons get a fanny pack with mostly useless survival gear. The important people get directions and passwords to the deep underground facilities. The rest of us are on our own.

Secretly and quietly arrange for a ban on cash to be made in Europe. This is sold as "progress" and most people even find it good: in small steps to prepare the masses for the abolition of cash. So that they lose one of the last freedoms, is rarely discussed in the media.
via Yellow Forum
Is an EU-wide ban on cash only a matter of time? In many small steps, people were prepared in recent years on cashless payments. Protests, there were hardly any criticism. More and more "Manifest" proclaims Meanwhile in the upcoming loss of the "last" freedom:
+ ECB (SNB and others will follow) have begun with the exchange of certificates. The smaller notes (5, 10) will be left for us.
+ No later than the end of 2016 everyone in the EU must have a Bank Account .
+ Selected mouthpieces announce more and more often the disadvantages of cash (Example: Rogoff , ....)
+ Italy, Spain, .... there are already limits for cash in daily life
+ Countries socially already reversed (eg vollgenderisiert) are as Sweden, have already started with the criminalization of cash (the so-called spearhead here. Unions)
+ With the discount stores in DE and AT now pay not only the young pseudo-educated small amounts with the card. The boys are therefore not and the elderly can make no resistance.
+ On the trains from Germany to Switzerland , there are now regular "cash investigators"
+ Exchange of Cash of € 2000 of large bills into smaller can be carried out to dateat the Bank (at the bank Sparkasse = DE) , only after being "read" into the account
[ Ed: to register the serial numbers]
An essential stuff - iodine tablets are missing from that survival kit.
Pretty soon these will be needed even more than aspirin or ibuprofen tablets.

This is actually extremely common. I work for a small private consulting firm in DC (not of the govt variety or related to banking) and we've always had "go packs" aka red cross branded bug out bags.
Given the probability of DC or other large metros as a target for terror, it's not a bad idea. Contents of their solicitation is basically the inventory of my go pack.
SHTF moment has come on the radar.
What!!!!
NO CONDOMS!!!??
It's simple - they have a budget, and if they don't use it all, they lose it. That's how bureuacrats think about the world.
My old bank did the same thing and the contents had the same shortcomings, so everyone who didn't get RIF'd just took their bag home and supplemented an actual office-disaster bag with useful items (blood clotting sponges, gauze, splint, small LED flashlight, etc.). What kind of emergency do you have in an office? Building collapse (trapped, broken bones, etc.), shooting (traumatic injuries including sucking chest wounds, etc.), bad storm or similar incident traps you there for 24 hours, etc. The kits don't cover those situations well - they're just enough to make you frustrated in an actual incident. A better solution would be to put 1 really good quality first aid and disaster kit on each floor. These fanny pack kits will all end up in the garbage or used other places (at home) like the rest of our tax dollars.
And I was wondering why .gov bot all those firearms for the USDA, SS (that's social security, for all readers who instinctively though of the Nazis), and others. Prob accounts for those 1500 MRAPS and billion rounds of hollow point, too. Gotta spend that budget.
I wonder if there are any body bags in these kits.
In the kit is a device for neutralizing the guillotines.
i noticed there's no request for weapons or ammo... oh, that's right, the feds already bought that...
