I'm not advocating, but the single most dumbass of the many dumbass meme's offered up by our culture of stupidity is "Torture doesn't work"
Of course it works. Consider a simple BIC lighter and one's own testicles and you will have to admit that you'd give up your social security number, your PIN and anything/everything else someone might want to know.
Now it's just a matter of verification. Yeah, Yeah, Yeah, of course you're just gonna give up what you think they want, but if what they want is what you kniow, they'll get it.
All these guys yammering about how torture doesn't work and how they said so while people were getting tortured are just trying to save their own guilty asses.
The real issue is RIGHT AND WRONG. If your argument is that you are better and in order to protect your betterness from the Philistines, you gotta torture them. You ain't no better. You're scum, just like the fucking Philistines.
This is/should be the basis against torture. The other thing is a lie.
What is even worse, is that many of them probably dont even know anything...I bet a large percentage of those who get tortured are innocent...How many people on death row were convicted and they were innocent...And there are some sick fucks doing this torture stuff...They dont care, they grew up pulling wings off butterflies..I say no torture, if you are so damn smart then figure out a way to win the war you instigated so that you can take their resources and put in a central bank so you can dominate the word another way ya fuks

Isn't it kinda clear by now that they were looking for the hapless to fill in the details of their narrative, not new information?
The point should be not to be sidetracked into whether torture is effective or moral.
The point should be to find out who was operating the levers to get confirmation of the plot line they had written.
The current talk about torture is a limited hangout.
if cave dwelling muslims didn't do 911, and there were no wmd's in iraq, just what kind of information were they trying to extract? location of saddams treasure trove? location of ancient possibly alien artifacts? Identy of rival drug kingpins? identy of embedded spys? we know they weren't looking for justice.

Psychopathy should be checked for before admission to positions of power and trust. Probably is already a prerequisite for some professions.

It's clear that all US torture techniques were originating directly from German Nazi GESTAPO manual applied to members of underground in Europe during WWII. Go to any war museum in Europe to see films and pictures of these techniques as well as tools of torture. But what US omitted from torture manual was that torturer has only 6-12 hour to get actionable intelligence since after that underground protocol required all to sever all connection with arrested individual and relocate after 12 hours after detainment. Such as time limit made of more insidious techniques impossible to deploy.
Persons being tortured also knew that after that time they will be off the hook from oath of silence their took. After admitting utter failure of direct tortures GESTAPO switched to several other techniques. One of them was arresting families of suspect, trying that way to extort info about resistance and, to look more credible, money, falsely promising to release mother, son or daughter who were never released alive or well. Then releasing suspect under clandestine observation to find out his contacts. Playing with hope of desperate parent or child, worked the best since it built up mistrust inside resistance underground and forced people to face deep moral dilemma, knowing that, which way they decide they loose humanity anyways.
That technique was only partially countered by underground court system which promptly executed informants adding to moral tragedy and despair. At later days GESTAPO just tortured innocent people, for intimidation or propaganda purposes. They openly disseminated cases of torture, with mandatory public executions of mutilated bodies, all directed toward terrorizing public at large. At the end GESTAPO got the same result of their torture as CIA did. No actionable info at all. What they got was hatred of Nazi Germany, US respectively, and their monstrous inhumanity, surprisingly succeeded in breaking basic existential human fear and, against their intentions, increased recruitment for resistance movements which was reasonable, human response to random evil.
CIA and WH must have known this from the beginning so it look like they simply let loose psychopathic maniacs living in shadows of US security establishment to do their deeds while convincing themselves that they do best they can for America. Hell is paved with good intentions.

but then there are the intentions to reverse-
engineer. that takes time and allows for a
clean getaway. it is the high art of a private
central banker.
