Crude Carnage Contagion: Biggest Stock Bloodbath In 3 Years, Credit Crashes
We leave it to Jack to explain what happened this week...
Quite a week!!
- WTI's 2nd worst week in over 3 years (down 10 of last 11 weeks)
- Dow's worst worst week in 3 years
- Financials worst week in 2 months
- Materials worst week since Sept 2011
- VIX's Biggest week since Sept 2011
- Gold's best week in 6 months
- Silver's last 2 weeks are best in 6 months
- HY Credit's worst 2 weeks since May 2012
- IG Credit's worst week in 2 months
- 10Y Yield's best week since June 2012
- US Oil Rig Count worst week in 2 years
- The USDollar's worst week since July 2013
- USDJPY's worst week since June 2013
- Portugal Bonds worst week since July 2011
- Greek stocks worst week since 1987
Some serious intraday volatility this week as hope kept shining through but in the end, reality won. Despite spiking euphoria among US Consumers, concerns over Greek elections, Japanese elections, the GDP-plunge-driven collapse in oil prices (with neither OPEC nor non-OPEC willing to blink yet on cutting production), and contagion to high-yield finallly caught up with stocks after they blindly followed the mainstream media narrative that low oil prices are unequivocally good for every muppet.
First things first... 2014 so far... "why would you buy a Treasury bond when you can buy stocks with dividends?"
Here's why crude matters...

— Not Jim Cramer (@Not_Jim_Cramer) December 12, 2014
No Hindenburg Omen today but it appears the Dow & S&P are pressing down to test their 50DMAs...
On the week, The Dow was the laggard... NOT OFF THE LOWS
And Energy sector the worst...
The Russell 2000 closed the week negative year-to-date...
VIX surged this week (ignore the excitement over percentage moves)...
Treasury yields collapsed...
Leaving the decoupling at epic levels... between bonds and stocks..
and between credit and stocks...
The Dollar slipped a little today to end the week down over 1%
Gold and Silver had great weeks - very stable as the rest of the markets turmoiled - while oil prices
Crude is now down 25% from the initial OPEC leaks...back below $58!!
Makes you wonder eh? The decoupling began when QE3 was hinted at...
and energy credit is near 1000bps now... and is starting to spread to rest of the HY markets...
notably worse than stocks (for now)...
* * *
But it's all about the fundamentals!! Great Jobs Data, Great Retail Sales Data, and Great Consumer Confidence Data - unless that's all totally manipulated bullshit?

May your chains rest lightly upon you.
Go Meat Hammer, and God bless you my brother.
Peace and Aloha...your post is an inspiration to most all ZHers.
Thanks BOP! You're a ZH gem, for sure. Lots of work left to be done but we're getting there.
all the best, MH. I'm homesteading and loving it on my handful of acres. you'll eat better, enjoy the fruits of your labor, and leave your children/grandchildren valuable soil.
Enjoy your land!
Well....that certainly is the 'smart' thing to do. But it might not be the right thing to do.
For some people the object is not to 'retire' with a nest egg, but to get out before the nest egg is swallowed by the fox.
However I agree there are consequences.
Mr. Hammer is likely rolling it into a self directed account with margin and will simply borrow from himself rather than incur tax penalties.
Huh?
If you haven't realized, it's nearly year end.
So if he liquidates it next year, assuming he will have no to very low income next year, he will not add progressively to that taxation rate.
And the other question you're conveniently ignoring is if he will still get any 401k payout or anything of value for those payouts when he turns 59.5 years.
"Liquidating a 401k while you're working is nuts. It's taxed at normal income PLUS 10% penalty off the top."
Some people say I was nuts and yes they did tax it like that (IRA).
But the beautiful thing about it is, no one can "digitally" remove it from my possession now. No changing of law will do it, no court order, no edict, no moar progressive taxation, no insurance, no fees, no statements, no records...just gone...poof!
I can now drop my cell phone in a small box to California and arrive anywhere I please, unnoticed, untracked, unaccounted for.
Its very liberating ;-)
If I roll it into a self-directed Ira we can't live on the property per ridiculous tax law, so I'm liquidating. It's worth the freedom. It's the only sure thing out there. The land, water, seeds, and sun will survive the money changers.
Or there's the alternative... watching it evaporate when the market crashes or retirement accounts are nationalized (stolen).
The less they know you have, the better off you are.
We're all Greeks now ;-)
I know u mean .gov, but also applies to women don't it?
If I roll it into a self-directed Ira we can't live on the property per ridiculous tax law, so I'm liquidating.
Heh heh.....go baby go.
Way to go, MH. Best of luck to you. I don't regret bailing at all.
I personally liquidated a 401(k) account in 2007 and took the 10% penalty. My boss (at the time) told me I was crazy to do it. I bought gold at $655 and silver at $14.85. I've never regretted it.
donsluck, what you suggest is not insane or evil.... but you are also making a hell of a lot of unstated assumptions.
Over the last three years, I totally liquidated my 401k: it felt real good, and it still does.
If you have enough you could save time, effort, have better ballistic and fire protection, as well as a waterproof roof with used shipping containers. May or may not work for you but something to consider.
Maybe a little late on this thread but here's my advice--
Look at nothing but bank owned properties. They are so desperate to get out from under country foreclosures that they give them away to anybody with cash. Mine was a 10-year-old log-sided triple modular wuth a 20,000 metal roof that had never even been lived in on 40 acres, with well, septic, phone, electric and a barn. We offered 54 on Friday afternoon and the head bank office out in Missouri accepted it on Saturday morning. So fast that I kicked myself for not starting at 50.
My previous country estate was raw land that I developed from scratch. Cost me a lot more, took a lot longer, and I got a lot less for all the extra effort.
Trust me, buy an existing pad and modify it to suit as you please afterwards. Short sales are murder and take forever, by the way. Bank owned properties-- solid gold and you'll be country in a month.
Awesome link, thanks! Looks like a lot of work...
Yes, a wonderful link Chunga, thanks. Cog and I are still looking at all the images, just inspirational.
Isn't it? I finally found a sawmill a while ago and man I'm glad I did. The mailman told me about it but I couldn't find it. It's an ancient thing way down a dirt road and the mailman told not to sneak up on them. Really nice guys..I told them what I wanted and he said he'd call me back with a price....400 bucks...delivered. ALL solid oak posts (6X6), beams, planks. Unbelievable. So I asked him to bring me 200 bucks extra. The brought me so much I changed plans and made it big enough to fit the tractor LOL! All done for 600 bucks including metal roof from the Mennonites, cement, hinges, fasteners. It's very solid...we love it. Larry is an inspiration to us at "Half-a-Day Farm".
Belize apparently has a bunch of Mennonites.
They will build you a house for a fairly cheap price on your land. Seems very doable. I'm not sure Belize is the right place... but you can look at the pictures of what they do on the internet... Starts simple so that is what we want.
Looking at houses in Belize, I'm not sure about the locations and the size of the house... but it is a project so you have to make decisions.
first, great inspiration
second, he can't ever reveal himself on ZH what with the little doggie statues out by the coop.
;
Do everything you can to put a basement under any house you build from scratch, they pay off in spades...
To meat hammer: started four years ago with my little farm in oregon, planted a large orchard with many varieties of fruit trees and berry bushes like currants and sweet european gooseberries. Put up a large ground mounted solar system, refurbished the greenhouse, and got a 15kw generator that my diesel powered tractor drives and now have sales to restaurants and the cider industry. You can do it if you avoid the pitfalls of the large farms which compete with large ag. businesses directly. Grow that which you love and know is good for people and do go organic. I am now starting aquaponics (fish farming with the water going to the hydroponic system) to increase my efficiency in food production.
Thanks, halfbreed. Great advice!
Good for you! Best of luck and I hope you like it.
You can do it. I did. but it's not as easy as you think.
Slavery is easy. I prefer a challenge.
Took the 20% hit on 401K and went to seeking out a more self sufficient life. Didn't completely unshackle myself from the slavorading mode until 2010. Oh it's a wonderful feeling to not pay squat into the corrupted criminal system. In 2015 I begin drawing whatever I can from social insecurity for however long. May not even get one month but don't need it anyway. The food storage; guns and ammo; barter-able real money physically in hand silver eagles galore, and a partridge in a pear tree were locked down long ago. It's great for you Hammer. Likely you won't miss the long pole of the system ramming up a free jiffy lube daily while your bent over in sphincter puckering position. Nice to see another get a spine; stand upright and walk away from the slavorading shit hole.
You thinking that SS won't be paying out in 2015?
Mop up operation of household wealth?
He bought silver or gold cheap.
Teamsters are losing 30% or 40% this week on current pensioners... since Federal .gov took over their pensions and mis-managed them with stocks & Real Estate.
Wow... what is next?
Are all pensions & Retirements next?
Heard about contracts & mismanagement? Negligence? Class Action suits? ZIRP lawsuit. Fixed income lawsuit? FOIA Lawsuit?
Audit the FED?
End the FED?
End TBTF?
suck my dick or face Riots
Bravo !!!!
Bought 5 acres for1800 bucks in the boonys at auction. Whole back side on a river. Cabin goes up as soon I decide where I want it. And I already had 3 acres on a bigger river I inherited. Just the roads to busy. Good on ya and hit those auctions! There's deals out there
Awesome! I'm getting goosebumps. Fuck yeah!
The 4 wheeler, John boat and trolling motor cost me more than the land. My wife jaw dropped when I told her what I got that for. My sons are in cloud nine. Cats perch small mouth turkey deer heaven. And the rivers a easy walk . The other place is a cliff 300ft over the dix river Ps ! Folks always Find a local law firm and do a title search!!!! Cost about $ 150 here . If there is lien from a bank on it . That firm will usually get a release on the title . And back taxes. State laws differ!
You = Smart.
Me = Dumb I live in over priced old house with none of that.
But yeah. Auctions must be the way to save my ass.
Tennessee (Middle and East) has scenic land in sparsely populated areas.
deleted since I'm a hunter.
I bought 20 acres in Missouri. Property taxes are rather cheap.
Added bonuses: 3/4 acre stocked pond, 40x80 outbuilding housing the saw mill and woodshop, tornado safe room, plus I get to shoot weapons off my back porch anytime time I want. A lot of homes up for sale in the area, just depends on the amount of space you think you'll need.
Probably as close as I will get to heaven on earth during my lifetime.
You're not "home" until you can pee and shoot from your porch with impunity.
I like that. Freedom, Liberty, Equality, Justice.
TBTF would be shot in many Mid-West & Southern & Texas States.
But I don't like Vigilante Justice or Mob Justice. I'm just saying not allowing FOIA Requests, Not Allowing US Government to Print Money, Not Allowing me to Create my own Credit & Loans, not allowing audit of Federal Government, not allowing Audit of TBTF Banks.... This stinks to high hell.
I also like to have chickens or animals around the house...
I live 4 acres in eastern Missouri, just on the edge of where the middle of nowhere begins an hour away from St Louis. I like to pee outside in the morning, with the birds and the fresh morning air and no worries about the neighbors being able to see me. I'm in the process of finding my own acreage, if you search carefully you can find land as low as $600 an acre depending on where you want to be.
I'm an hour out of St. Louis down I-44. Lots of acreage for sale out that way. Lots of homes for sale too.
i love the " i leave all and go to the forest.."
you think you gonna be alone up there .....?
-_-
You are going to kick yourself for waiting so long. Enjoy waking up in the morning knowing you are going to do what You Want to do.
Thanks, I've been kicking myself for awhile.
I can't handle this shit-show any longer.
I think most regulars to this site would agree Hammer
I can't handle this shit-show any longer.
It never got weird enough for me - Dr Hunter S Thompson
Said quote was before he joined the tribe.....got involved in some sick crap....and killed himself.
"I can't handle this shit-show any longer."
Lol...you guys crack it up here!
Bless'ed love on all de ZH Tribe.
Better late, than never?
Back to the basics...in the garden you find that which you have looked for all your life...it could be God in the shape of any of the numerous awesome organic vegetables you can grow and harvest yourself. It could be in the eight foot delicious tomato plants too. Talk about satiated.
You see good sir, the key here is in this latest Avatar. Always has been. We made the Great Escape eight years ago, and life on the ranchy riverside is grand when you can sustain on less than 700 dollars a month for food and all else. THAT, is a trick and something people had better learn to master soon! After living in Alaska for say, six years, one learns to live almost anywhere, and the absolute definition of self-subsistence living.
Humm-hum...yup!
Moar below.
Meat Hammer
u sir r a hero in my book...
glad u finally decided to join us...

The ANTI-FUCKING MONEYCHANGERS MACHINES...
how does freedom feel!
Indescribable, Kaiser my boy. Indescribable.
Meat , I did it 4 years ago. Was making high 6 figures and walked away when I wrote the last big check to the IRS. Fuck 'em all but 6
Good for you, B!!! Congrats on having the guts to do it.
4 the Jung don't it seem like systemic corruption that bosses love when young guys buy cars & houses... the new ones of course... They love debt in their lower level employees or management!!!
Do you mean like $185k or like $880k?
Been down that road for sure! I was having a very rough time during my divorce and they made me BORROW my own damn money from my 401k. That is when the lightbulb finally went off.
I cashed out and paid off debt and moved to AK. Still in the hole a bit, but things are in way better shape now and my job should be around until I die which is somewhat comforting.
And this one doesn't make me contribute to a 401k, which is a nice perk!
Regards,
Cooter
Congratulations.
Did you tell those swine at HR to take their job and rectally hydrate themselves?
Wait till the dough s in-hand to talk about it, don't Jinx it!
Said the alleged representatives.
Trying to catch that falling knife?
You go Meat! You may only have until Yellen presser next week, tell that HR old hag to get her ass in gear!!
Meat,
Hope you get your money sooner than Germany gets their gold.
Frank
Yeah....let's hope.
Hold the change.
Good for you!
What was "the last straw" or moment of clarity you had that convinced you to make such a big and somewhat irreversible decision?
I've sincerely wondered how I could actually do that myself. I'm in my late thirties with several kids (pre-school to mid teens) and wife with some health problems. I'm not exactly handy, but can build some things and have liquid investments to pay those who can build.
I'd like your and other's thoughts on the turning point that made you decide to 'unplug from the matrix'.
For me, I became self-employed about 5 years ago, an off-and-on excercise for about 15 years between jobs. Still, I wouldn't cash out a 401k early. It smacks of emotionalism and haste, two very bad investment emotions.
My company matched my 401k so I'll just consider it as them paying the taxes and penalties.
Somebody could run a red light and end me tomorrow, so I think I'll roll the dice.
Your response smacks of projecting your own fears onto me.
That "hold tight to the 401K" mantra is one hell of a gamble. There are no assurances it will have much purchasing power by the time it becomes available. Thinking about keeping my retirement security in a .gov tuperware bowl just gives me the creeps.
Do people really think their tax rate will be less in 10 to 20 years from now? Sounded good in the 1990's
You should have cashed out at the all time high. That would simply be fullfilling an old wise proverb, buy low and sell high.
Nothing emotional about that.
I don't think there was a "last straw"...it's something I've been planning to do for awhile. The biggest obstacle was convincing Mrs. Meat that we don't need "services". She thinks the police protect us and that we need the fire department even though we've never ever called them. She then mentioned having a medical emergency and what do we do then? My response: "Oh, you mean like having a heart attack from the stress of the rat race? How about we go live in peace and if we drop dead one day, so be it?" She got on board after that.
That is so funny. I've got a big burn pile going outside and three farmers came by after I got it going this am to make sure everything is ok. We never see cops out here in the middle of the woods. A lot of the people here beilieve that the civil war is NOT over. If a strange vehicle is around or someting doesn't look right they KNOW it and would never think of calling anyone but their neighbors.
Had a house fire at midnight over a decade ago. There were fire trucks, police cars, and ambulances up and down the length of the street. Not one neighbor came out to see if we were okay nor did anyone stop in the days after. Not one.
Other than that, I like the land.
I used a hospital in Philippines, Asia, South America, and used doctors in Poland and German... I was impressed except for the clinic in Poland but he seemed like a smart old doctor so still like his help.
Thing about living in these places... seems more like living in a city often times... like if you look for cheap apartment some place with convenient stores for shopping.
Cities make me nervous. Having lots of people around makes me nervous. Having drunks standing on the streets makes me nervous.
But I'm not exactly a country man either. But have been walking in the woods this year... reminds me of hunting. Walking in a park or wherever is very meditative... and as it gets cold you never see anyone.
I have a relative that says country living is great as long as you are at least 1 hour or 2 from the Walmart or big shopping places.
Zapdude, check out Wranglerstar on YouTube...they did it to lead a simpler life.
https://www.youtube.com/user/wranglerstar
Thanks to everyone on this thread. Good pics and channel.
Inspires. I'm in an old house with problems. But largely not in the rat race or stocks... never learned options well enough... so not an investor. Might consider starting a biz, building a house, installing a generator, or relocating including overseas... but lately don't see going to a foreign country so much... might consider working in a bank to learn more...
I'm retired at this point. But not happy about the world as I see it. Not at all. Have to be dead to like the system.
It would be great to see a bunch of ZH people buy an entire mountain and give it a go. Oh boy.
Now you are thinking. Wow.
But we still would end up with different cliques or groups. So you are really looking at like 3-4 or more groups. So different Groups in Different States. Maybe based in Conservative Ideas but different.
- Libertarians
- Conservative-Liberals
- Conservative-Historians-Intellectuals
- Conservative-Business People with Social Ideas
- Conservative-Democrats-Progressives
- Conservative-Scientist-Historian-Engineer-Accountants-Investors
Well and Democrats:
- Democrat-Socialist-Medicare/Medicaid-Socialism-Security-Welfare
- Democrat-Conservative-Pro-Business-Pro-Accounting-Pro-Audit
If the numbers are sufficient, those like-minded zh'rs could coopt local governments. especially in the small places.
>>>I'd like your and other's thoughts on the turning point that made you decide to 'unplug from the matrix'.
Dumping my own participation in the shitshow which is the US economy was basically a question of ethics.
I would rather live in "reduced circumstances" that support a system which is, at bottom, evil. Ugly, too.
Hey hammer-can i get some advice? i am looking at getting out myself and just starting to scratch the surface
Start learning, done123. Read chunga's link and then use the beauty of the internet to learn how to garden, can, use solar, wind, etc. I know it's going to be hard work, but we'll be FREE.
thank you.
"learn how to garden, can, use solar, wind, etc"
We canned another ten cases of about ten kinds of veggies this year. After we get through with most of last years vast assortment, we will crack into the new batches sometime in Spring Just in time to plant.
There is so much to share around all that. One key deal is, if you are going to garden, go wild with at least 100X100 feet to start with. You can eat from it all spring, summer, and fall and then can for the winter. One only goes to the store for a few basics and eats very well most of the year.
Moar about gardening, but one last key to ponder. If you are in the sticks, there are most likely critters. After you roto-till your oversized space, put up a 8 foot fence and garw around it, and ten high if in Alaska. Those crazy moose can really hop!
You have to electricize the top wire to keep the crawlers out, including your average bear. Once they get a taste of the ZAP!, they comes around no moar. Besides learning to defend your hard worked for goodies in the garden from four-leggeds, you will have to learn to defend it from the two legged also.
Thots to ponder...support from tranquillity base.
Kudos to all on board tonight.
Bless.
You have given me great laughs. I suspect you will be loving it on the other side. Happy Christmas and peace and prosperity to you and yours.
who cares, its FRIDAY!!!
listen to CNBS today is fucking hilarious...
tune in now if u wanna here how this is a great place to get in and go long the equities...
fucking hilarious...
as for previous post...

I turned the blowhorn on for about 5 minutes for the first time in 2-3 months. WHAT A FARKING JOKE THAT OUTFIT IS.
You can see why they only have 9 1/2 viewers*.
*The monkey at the zoo counts as 1/2.
Now we know, 19 monkeys watch CNBC.
Explains why the tribe is still shoveling money into that sinkhole.
Seriously considering it.
It IS hilarious. I just love watching it. Something tells me I have to see how these people behave during rigged times to really enjoy them when reality settles in. Can you imagine these faces with DOW minus 2'000 points!!?!?!
I like waiting for the video clips on their site- especially on a day like today Insana, Gartman, they even dragged out that lush Artie Hogan who's been with more sell side shops than a hunts point whore
Double post.
BTFD
Sarc
cramer say BUY BUY BUY BUY
hey jim whahappa to SDRL and LINE
y u no tella to sell sell sell sell b4 too late ....
Funny they say a great market in 2015 bar a meteor in nyc. Who are these people kidding? How much money can they print to keep this going?
I had LINE in 2010... Was looking at MLPs big time.
Wow, SDRL LINE BBEP BWP CHK EROC PER SDT MVO & AGNC NLY look like total crap.
ETP EEP seems to still look good on 5 year chart.
I ended up losing big in 2013 on a small cap along those lines.
Never invest in a Small Cap. I'm all out of the market now. Yellen is a Joke, Like Bernanke & Greenspan. CONgress is a joke too. They expect us to work to pay off their TAXES, and consumer their goods so their investments pay off.
If the stock market's wealth effect falters, Christmas spending will fall more than the 11% fall in Thanksgiving sales. Where is Bullard when you need him?
Get to work, Yellen - stock market falls have been outlawed in the land of free markets.
There's the rub. Even, pessimistic, crabby zero hedgers (oxymoron) think the Fed will backstop everything. We shall see. Double crossed is what you get when dealing with crooked assholes.
I think the plan is to wait until the Republican actors take the stage in January then hint at this bitch collapsing and blame it on the limited-government types who don't want .gov to help.
See what the extremist Republicans have caused? Believe that government will save you all and stick anyone who believes otherwise into cattle cars.
The Fourth Reich approaches.
I like the way you are thinking here.
There is always a few plans out there, but they don't talk about them.
First they have to pick who is going to get the Blame.
The 4th Reich was here a long time ago....
https://aadivaahan.wordpress.com/2011/12/15/this-that-and-the-4th-reich/
That was "way" back in 2011 :-)
not many soldiers can deal with reality like in the picture, but once they got you they make sure you are with the program.
USA seems to know how to keep secrets and keep soldiers quiet.
This is offensive, if you hold on to Freedom, Liberty, Equality, and Justice.
---
But where do we first see evidence of a 4th Reich?
- Overseas of course, where it is hidden, compartmentalized, and has language barriers
- 1944 end of WWII, then Vietnam war
I can't help but wonder if the GOP sees this as well. I hate the complicit fuckers for their hypocrisy but wonder if they are not seeing the shit storm coming and trying to act " progressive" to shunt the blame for it. All politics seems to be is a blame game for public opinion, yet no one is ever held accountable.
to meat hammer: the Fourth Reich is here already. We are ruled by two religious aristocracies with one extra upstart ready to join in (I think in Utah). Much of what our government has done would be considered traitorous by any common man from our forefathers through the eighteen hundreds.
Ho-Ho-Ho!
Wuthering heights.
Withering lows.
Withered HOs?
We withered some folks.
I think I can speak for the whole platoon when I say that I think we deserve to see the deer.
We *ARE* the deer... Check the mirror for beady blank fearful eyes..
deer with guns, hehe
While today WAS exciting to watch, please keep in mind that at these lofty equity levels, a 300-point drop is not even a two-percent decline in the Dow. While I realize this hasn't happened much over the past three years, until I see a 1000-point drop, I won't get myself all wet with pleasure.
OK, not easy to satisfy you Tsar, but a nice gap down Monday morning would be at least worth a smile wouldn't it?
A good 400-point plunge at the open Monday with no BTFD then proceeding to go down about 700 points would bring an evil grin to my face, yes.
With oil staying low and shale collapsing, I'll take the appetizers before the entree. I smell blood.
I planted some "short" seeds last year and it would be nice to harvest the crops.
I dont want out of the Matrix, I'm having fun here like "Mr. Reagan" Cipher
Neo was not given the opportunity to reenter into the Matrix.
Once you take the Red Pill you have no other choice.
Being here you have already taken the Red Pill.
Your complicity in the Matrix will haunt you. Now that is not intended as a curse but it is just a consequence...an outcome. You will be in a constant state of want for Freedom and Liberty, look at those around you whom have obtained it, and envy it.
You are right- a 300 point drop is just foreplay. We all need to pace ourselves- the night is young. On a side note just remember that there will be collateral damage out there when things fall apart. A lot of good people will go down with the ship. If you can be generous to the young. I worry about them. I am sure they will adapt but I can't imagine being young and knowing your generation was screwed by the very people who portend to care about you. I can see angry youths with trust issues. Art imitates life or life imitates art- Mad Max II almost here.
You would not believe the political indoctrination that is going on in high schools. No pledge of allegiance to start the day. Instead, they get a 15 minute "news show" that is basically MSNBC hosted by kids. Right out of 1984. If you have kids in public high school, you should ask them about it.
Hurry!
Dammit!
banksters are sweating bullets that things will collapse before The Golfer signs the omnibus bill (with derivative backstopping by taxpayer)
Lord forbid they miss out on 8 figure bonuses
Boehner took care of Obama and Obama supplied just enuf votes for the bill to go forth. They both get paid by the same crowd, but they split the voter base, so the same crowd always wins
I believe you are right about being planned a good time back. I also think the CIA torture report was released at this time to keep the water cooler crowd focussed away from the budget bill putting us on the hook for $303 trillion in derivatives. Congress should be disbanned- they do not represent us so let's stop pretending. How much could we save on salaries and lifetime benefits. If Detroit pensioners are forced to take a cut then former Congress members can enroll in Obamacare- the Affordable Care Act. We can't afford to pay not only for Congress members' salaries and travel but their staffs' compensation too. Anyone out there know how much Congress costs us per year- including everything- security- upkeep on buildings- it would be interesting to know.
Yeah, Exit Strategy on Stock Markets... Yellen trying for exit on QE & ZIRP maybe...
Bail Ins for the Elites... courtesy of whatever slub they can find.
In the event of a total collapse, do these banksters actually believe there will be any place to hide? I picture people hunting them down like the Nazi hunters did post WWII.
There’s never been a better time then now to be confident, evidently:
http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2014-12-12/michigan-u-s-consumer-sentiment-index-rises-to-93-8-from-88-8.html
[unless you’re in the Middle Class, private sector, or related to the O&G sector in anyway]
My guess is they polled those Gruberized peeples.
Expect more stealth Hopium QE injections next week.
They'll be woking the Sunday morning shows!
We all knew that the The Fed could never stop...that they would hint at stopping QE and then we'd see the Dow shit the bed before Janet starts hitting CTRL-P like it's her clit.
Our republic has been dead for a hundred years and we're just seeing some final twitches.
Meat Hammer, best of luck to you in your new found freedom. Please keep us infomed as to your progress.
I quit working back in May, I am looking forward to doing my taxes next year.
I am starting to look for property, in the meanwhile, my wife is doing the work thing, keeps her busy.
Anyway, best to you esp. over the holiday season.
Thank you, Moe. I definitely will.
My best wishes to you and yours.
I appreciate the sentiment, but if the Republic has been dead for a hundred years, then I'd like an instant replay of the Afterlife of the 1980s to 2000.
It's wasn't exactly 50 years of Hell. Only 2007-2014 have been Hell. IMO.
The equity CFD's are still selling off. I have a hunch Asia is going to be a bloodbath on Sunday open.
i never attention to sundays anymore ... maybe i'll check the open (or not ... don't want to jinx things)
There will probably be some downward opening gaps. You can jump on the retrace as the gaps get filled/retraced.
Personally, I think this is a big setup before the fed. next week. With rates this low I wouldn't be surprised to see a dovish tone to their statement.
Who knows they might want to take this gorilla down a few notches and take some heat off the $usd. That trade is pretty much priced in. Any bad news has seen $usd selling lately.
"Any bad news has seen $usd selling lately."
True
BUT emerging markets bonds/currencies are being routed ... imo, current weakness in usd due to these countries defending their currency (selling foreign reserves ... ie: usd ... and buying own) ... once they run out of greenbacks usd will go higher ... much higher
I never hold a short position over the weekend, I just broke my rules.
CAC stocks accelerated into the close, no bounce, and U.S. Followed through. Hope for a lot of forced selling Monday.
Also just read France downgrade by Fitch, you beauty.
There was a bloodbath in Silver today, down 5 cents.

Where's the DEER Tyler?
Look in the mirror, we <all> are the deer this time.
wow, how insane that the dow falling close to 4 percent is good enough for the biggest weekly loss in 3 years?
seriously, there has not been a bigger weekly drop than not even 4 percent in 3 fucking years?
just shows how fucked up things r
