Look at the views and comments on articles with foreign policy especially all things Russia on here. They constantly generate viewership that is 2-10x the economic articles and pages of comments while the economic ones fail to even get 30-40 comments and 3-4k views.

The Ukrainians have some Tochka U short range ballistic missiles. They carry a 455 kg high expolsive warhead (and a re nuke capable). There are a number of munition plants and chemical plants around Donetsk. A combination of one or more these would make a pretty significant bang.
This video shows a possible Tochka attack in Donetsk. The crater is massive (at ~ 2 min 30 sec) - and is clearly visible on Google earth.
I don't know what that was but you can be sure that the US and the Russians do.
And the Chinese. They know things could go sideways for them very quickly.
First thing for them is Western satellites, while Putin handles the rest.

Concious, I am bleary eyed after reading all day. I will read it tomorrow I promise. I started to read it, but my eyes are rolling back up in my head. I think I know where it is going, and believe me, I am not a defender of the West or East or North or South carte blanch. I am open to seeing things other ways. So, thanks for the link, and it may be a missing link for me, as I have been fighting all day on ZH, with people I know are on the same side as me, but we are fighting about nuances for the most part.

By the way , I was about 5 Miles away in one of these Explosions and watched it live , I think they loaded 20 Tons of TNT , thought I was witnessing a NuKular blast at 1st , I was in a concrete building and it got Jolted very Violently .

In Donetsk the guess is it was a tactical ballistic missile that hit either ammunition dump or one of the chemical factories. But I would expect a double detonation, first the missile hits, then in a few seconds the secondary explosion. It looks in fact like one detonation with no delayed or secondary explosion.
I made the possible guess of a Ukrainian Fuel Air Bomb, or Ballistic Missile warhead. These minic to perfection the look of a mini nuclear detonation. Ukraine has these wepaons, but has not used them for fear the rebels would quickly retaliate. Nobody wants to be on any battle field with these weapons in use. They really are mini nukes, without all the fuss of a radioactive aftermath.
So far nobody has come forward with more news. It should be one of the three. Ballistic Missile hit ammunition dump/chemical plant. Or some form of fuel air warhead.
NEW video shows initial explosion followed by the big one, so a missile probably hit and detonated an ammunition dump or the chemcial plant. Not a nuke or Fuel Air Explosive.
