General Wesley Clark: "ISIS Got Started Through Funding From Our Friends & Allies"

Tyler Durden's picture

Not that it was really a conspiracy 'theory' but with General Wesley Clark (ret.) now openly admitting "ISIS got started through funding from our friends and allies... to fight to the death against Hezbollah" it appears the 'angel investors' cat is out of the bag. Adding that "they recruited the zealots and religious fundamentalists" Clark says 'we' create "Frankenstein." He is careful not to name names, but we ask (rhetorically of course), which of our (oil-bearing) allies has the biggest bone to pick with Hezbollah (apart from Israel of course)?

Clark on creating Frankenstein...

Which explains, as MiddleEastEye notes, the questions about ISIS' rapid geopolitical expansion despite lack of enthusiasm for its cause among ordinary people...

...a puzzling matter exists. While al-Qaeda during its most violent phases won the support of many people in the region, IS is hardly popular. Even the support of Salafist jihadists here and there is diminishing.

In fact, while many despise them, conspiracy theorists are busy linking them to Israel, the US and other Arab regimes, which could be considered the ultimate disavowal of the group.

Not only does IS seem to have no strategy of its own, but its “strategy” is inexplicably and enigmatically consistent with those who are seeking to maintain military intervention, regionally and internationally, as the only way to handle Middle East crises.

*  *  *

Now let's see: whose strategy is to keep the middle east on constant edge?

You know whats funny?

At other sites where I reveaed US oligarch regime crimes in Libya, Syria, Iraq, I was called as putin regime shill, but here where I reveal putin regime crimes in Ukraine I am called US shill :)

I really don't care, I'm used to that. I will stick to truth no matter what.

Why the switch-hitting, freedom? Now if you showed up here and revealed US oligarch regime crimes in Ukraine (like those in Libya, Syria and Iraq) then people would have listened.

"Poroshenko uses banned, inhumane weapons ON HIS OWN PEOPLE."

"Yatsenyuk demands U.S. classify Ukrainian freedom fighters as TERRORISTS - calls for more shelling of residential areas to exterminate them."

If we look at war in Ukraine and who is liying than look at these facts not some pathetic unproven putin regime propaganda:

1.) putin told that there are no russian army active in Crimea, that they are only sitting in their bases - truned out that was a lie:

http://youtu.be/x6HpySKFpiU

Remember these "locals" aka "little green man" that admits they are from russia:

http://youtu.be/wMJwdX5IHm8

2.) Russian propaganda spread info that referendum in Crimea was legit and supported by it's people and members of parliament - but it turned out to be lies - russian terrorist ex-leader Girkin admits there where no support for them in Crimea and that they forced parliament members to vote as terrorists wanted:

http://youtu.be/aelwn_UfeN0

Igor Girkin, ex-minister of defense of the so-called Donetsk Republic:
“Have you actually been to Crimea during the referendum? Well, I have. I have been there since February the 21th. What you are describing here is absolute rubbish. There were no policemen who supported our side at that time. The only law-enforcement subdivision that has joined our ranks back then was the Berkut. The rest of the law-enforcement agencies remained under control of Ukrainian Ministry of Internal, and kept carrying out the MIA’s orders. Yes, sometimes they were sabotaging these orders, but all in all they were under Ukrainian control. I haven’t seen any support from official governmental representatives in Simferopol. Our troops had to force the deputies into the Oblast Council hall so that these representatives would vote in favor of our initiatives. I know this because I have been at the time commandeering one of such militant teams and I’ve seen it all from the inside. We had absolutely no support from the people, not to mention the army. The Ukrainian army units remained loyal to Kyiv as they were. Furthermore, most of the army remained that way. The only thing that made what we have accomplished in Crimea possible was the presence of Russian army.”

3.) putin denies any military help to so called "rebels" in Ukraine - but it failed in Minsk 2 agreement - where he actualy has admited in supporting them with Tordnado-S which is only operated by Russian Federation and has never been exported out side it to other countries.

Minsk 2 agreement say:

"2. Withdrawal of all heavy weapons by both sides to equal distances in order to create a security zone with a width of at least 50 km between them for artillery systems with a calibre of 100 mm and more, and a security zone with a width of 70 km for MLRS and with a width of 140 km for MLRS “Tornado-S” “Uragan,” “Smerch” and tactical missile systems “Tochka” (“Tochka-U”):

- for the Ukrainian troops: from the actual line of contact;

- for the armed formations of certain areas of the Donetsk and the Lugansk regions of Ukraine: from the line of contact in accordance with the Minsk Memorandum of September 19, 2014.

The withdrawal of heavy weapons set out above shall begin no later than the second day after the cease-fire and end within 14 days.

This process will be assisted by the OSCE, with the support of the Trilateral Contact Group."

The improved Tornado-S is being upgraded with the special GLONASS satellite navigation system used in the Smerch missile system. The Tornado-S will have guided rocket rounds enabling it to fire out to 72 miles (120 km). The Tornado-S will have a longer range and increased effectiveness, due to the use of new warhead payloads and a reduced launch readiness time of just three minutes. The Tornado-G entered series production in 2013.[2] The system entered service with the Russian armed forces in 2014.[3]

Why Crimeans where in majority for seceding from Ukraine in a poll made in 2008 and would suddenly show 'no support' after the coup and the policies implemented against Russian speakers ? (This is from Wikipedia, which is nothing else that a Western propaganda media...) If Russian involvment is so obvious, why the media are using pictures from years ago (Georgia) to "prove" that the Russians crossed the border (a headline I read every week now) ? Why no definitive evidence is presented ?

It has been documented that Russians crossed the border (the same way some foreigners joined the urkrainian army to fight the ethnic russians in the east) but dont make me believe that the West would not have satellite picture of RUssian troops movements if they occured.

And it begs the question GW

How is it possible that after all this time and damage that both the general(s) and the legislator(s) committing open treason like this in Washington haven't yet swung from the end of a rope?!!!

Son of Captain Nemo's picture

'cause they own the rope?

No actually the taxpayers own that "rope".  But you bring home the true nature of the problem and tragedy of that statement.

They don't know that they own it

And it will take someone in Congress like a Ron Paul to remind them of that fact!

ThroxxOfVron's picture

We all know that the citizenry who step up to the proper and required task will have to face well armed militarized police, plain-clothes private mercenaries, the national guard, and probably even the army itself, to get to the traitors before they can put the treasonous fuckers' necks into the nooses.

Get a clue: the citizenry don't need some bullshit Ron Paul-esque politician reminding them from his comfy chair in D.C. as to how fucked up the situation is or how difficult it is going to be for those that move to un-fuck this country.

Selfless men of honor and more than a few willing to martyrs are required to go up against the militarized police, etc. knowing some/many are not going to live to see the fuckers swing even if such an uprising were successful.

oh ! great! another opportunity to expose the neoconutz. with israel and isis confirmed as allies by the un the entire operation has been exposed for the devil's deal it is. israel has regional dreams of empire and the oil states provide the back door finance for the operation with petro dollars earmarked for treasury bonds otherwise. the arabs really don't have much to gain except to harass the shiites(in the case of syria alawites) but the usa needs to funnel money to the region through the back door to maintain plausible deniability.

the good news is israel is finally actively helping in a usa war effort by arming isis, providing medical care and printing their flags. there are even reports of idf "advisors".

‘Arkansas state Senator Jason Rapert took to Facebook to suggest that the best way to “quickly turn things around” in territory captured by Islamic State extremists would be a “strategically placed nuclear weapon.”

“With ISIS spreading all over the Middle East and Africa and Islamic Extremists carrying out violence in Europe, the United Kingdom and even in the United States, I wonder why the civilized world just sits by when we have weapons that could wipe out these barbarians where they are concentrated?” he asked.

“I believe,” Rapert continued, “it is time to annihilate the strongholds and pursue the rest till we have them all captured or killed. A strategically placed nuclear weapon would save the lives of our soldiers and quickly turn things around.”’

How do "strategically place" a nuclear weapon, in the middle east? Is it like strategically placing a baseball bat into a hornet's nest? Or strategically removing the support columns of a tower in which one resides?
