Caught On Tape: LAPD Guns Down Homeless Man In Broad Daylight
Submitted by Mike Krieger via Liberty Blitzkrieg blog,
The following video of LAPD officers gunning down a homeless man in broad daylight is rightly getting a lot of attention. It’s not as if it was one officer dealing with a dangerous situation who panicked. There was a mob of police officers surrounding the victim, and rather than dealing with the situation like courageous, decent adults, they went ahead and treated the man like target practice.
As we see with oligarch theft, this is the sort of thing you can expect more of when certain above-the-law groups in society fail to be held accountable for their actions.
WARNING: Graphic material and explicit language.
Absolutely disgusting.

At least in Russia, Nemtsov's killer had the courtesy to do it at night
can you say race war in 3...2...1...
I can't believe this one, damn, six guys can't get the guy under control...damn!
this makes me sad, I pray for this country!
Get right with God, Jesus Christ is your ONLY salvation!
Gosh, they spend all that money on muscle-builder steroids and still can't take down 1 bum with 6 officers.
They are not just pussies, they are COWARDS!
ain't that the truth...ROID up, shoot him, shoot him
..."can you say race war in..."
Ah, No. Watch it again, the whole thing.
OR start at 2:40. The man talking/recording knows who did it. That's a Black calling a Black cop a murderer.
It's not a Race thing. It's not a Right/Left thing. It is an echelon of people who are losing control and they are scared shitless. They will work that fear thru every medium they have control over. Police, News, School....
This video must have been made with a 20-year old camera - it's almost impossible to see what is really happening. However, what we see is a guy surrounded by cops who starts swinging at them violently - we don't see what happened before it started, but the one video that we can all see is that the homeless guy starts swinging first. The cops close in on him - it still doesn't look overly violent when the one cop closest to the camera drops his night stick and reaches for what is likely his taser. Then they're all grabbing at the violent homeless guy, when one cop comes across and tackles the woman who has grabbed the dropped night stick and is joined by "cop-with-a-gun" drawn. In the background a cop, "combatives-cop" has mounted the suspect facing his face, delivering blows, grabbing for arms, and then alternating blows - any army grunt will recognize this as the first position they learned in combatives training. It appears, to me, based on a really grainy video, that Homeless-Guy grabs Combatives-Cop's gun and he moves off to the left after losing control of the situation (his cadre would be very disappointed in his execution of the Top Position), and Cop-With-A-Gun repositions and blasts the Homeless Guy.
I'm all for calling out cops who've abused their power or over-reacted causing death (or less harm too) to another human, but based on what we see here there is at least a decent probability that what I saw turns out to be correct (perhaps based on some yet-to-be-discovered better quality video). Unlike what some other commenters are saying, there are not a half dozen cops beating some guy unprovoked, you have a Homeless Guy being aggressively violent and a half dozen cops that appear to be doing nothing more than subduing him. Subduing a suspected criminal includes a measured level of violence that escalates based on the subject's reaction to the person(s) trying to subdue him - this video lines up well with the "use of force continuum" if you want to google-research what is going through their mind as they try to arrest him.
I don't know what this guy did before the video, and don't know if it justified arresting him in the first place. I don't even know if the shooting was justified, but I can admit that the video is grainy enough it is unclear. What I do know is that arresting someone is not the same as giving them a stuffed teddy bear - it frequently evokes a violent resistance, coupled with spitting, cursing, etc. It is unpleasant for most people on both sides. I'm not a cop, never have been, but I've never pointed a gun at anyone I didn't intend to kill. You don't shoot to maim.
what we have here is murder, true we don't know what precipitated the incident, but six cops should have had the guy under control, wrapped him up so to speak...no need to shoot him 5 or six times, imo! if he was on pcp, or some other pyscho drug, he could be superman, but still this was tough to watch, and i think an unwarranted shoot.
Perhaps they *should* have had him under control, but it appears they lost control and Homeless Guy grabbed a gun. If that is what happened, then there is a clear excuse to "shoot him 5 or 6 times". If anyone points a gun at me I intend to keep shooting them until they stop moving completely. This incident seems very different than the one in Albuquerque, for instance, where the Homeless Guy was camping, was arrested (for camping?!? what is wrong with the world where you can get arrested for camping) and had given up with his hands in the air, and was then shot down by police.
In most self-defense courses you learn various gun disarms and can take a gun away from someone who is as close as those guys are with their guns drawn pretty efficiently. In fact, in most cases you learn specifically to take it away, slam the magazine back in (even if it doesn't look loose), rack it, and fire centermass into the asailant. I'm guessing the Homeless Guy wasn't a student of fighting at that level, but if he grabbed the gun in a violent struggle like that, they should immediately shoot him. Then, they should be sent back for training on how not to lose their gun to the opponent.
The perp has 2 arms and 2 legs. 4cops should be able to control the guy. (unless they are morons)
"This video must have been made with a 20-year old camera..."
There was no "Camera" per se. It wasn't TV-6 on the scene.
It was some guy who saw some stuff going down and Watched Real Time, Reacting Real Time to someone being Shot right in front of him.
Oh, and he raised his arm and hit video/record on his phone while he watch the guy being blown away in front of him.
It might not be the 'best' cinematography because of the above reasons.
really six cops can't take down an unarmed man without shooting him to death?
what a bunch of fucking clowns.
What I can say is this, we are inching forward with every event. It will not be long before the general public starts opening up on the cops. Having grow up in LA, I guarantee you those cops are currently surrounded by folks with guns. A few more incidents like this and the public is going to start a shooting war.
Cops should just cover themselves head to toe in guns, like every square inch. That way if you so much as walk near one you're going for their gun.
The sad part of this is that everyone (especially in LA) should be aware that LA cops are trigger happy. They should also know that cops can twist any story in their favor. Given these facts, why would anyone give them give them a reason to beat you or shoot you? This is no longer a 'free' country, so you either need to avoid cops, or do everything exactly as they say -- or find another place to live. Resistance Is Futile!
Which will it be this time?
1.) "I feared for my life."
2.) "I thought he had a gun."
3.) "Stop resisting!"
In the real world I have been confronted by a drunk bum with a knife that advanced on me. I could have ended his life and from a cop's perspective it would have been "justified". Instead, it ended up where the bum dropped the knife and apologized. The difference between my reaction and a cop's reaction is that I'm not a coward and I don't belong to the state sanction cult of "the thin blue line".
Gee, all they are missing are the SS collar Lightning Bolts and some skull and crossbones patches!
I think they should be issued Rhino Wips!
check their badges...
Is it now Police SOP to handcuff the bullet-riddled body and not offer any medical assistance until EMS arrives?
These cops committed murder. If they are not prosecuted and convicted of murder then there is no justice left in America.
It doesn't matter if that man was Black or green with purple polka-dots, those cops should be executed as criminals.
If 5 or 6 cops can't taser and cuff a single, unarmed man, then they need to be dismissed from the force.....after serving 20+ years for murder.
The cops are out of control. If they aren't stopped from this kind of murderous insanity, then we are no longer a free and civil nation......we have fallen into darkness and tyranny.
ENOUGH!!!
Hysteria is not helpful here
Says who?
Very surprised at the number of delusional posts which display no understanding of reality or the law. How any of you can have more than $1.00 USD under management this side of a simulated trading account is beyond me. I'm actually laughing my ass off at how dumb some of you are.
This was a 100% clean shoot and the law will support it 100% of the time.
"This was a 100% clean shoot and the law will support it 100% of the time."
LOL...who cares? We don't care what the law says or does--the party's over. Faith in the government and the police and the "justice" system are completely gone, so your cute little appeal to some kind of rule of law is pretty fucking stupid. But hey, have at it...
'We don't care what the law says or does.'
That's rich. I'm sure you'll do just great in a without rule of law situation. Save your workers of the world unite Rambo attitude for your favorite TV show. You have no idea what your calling for.
'Cute little appeal for the law'? By the sound of you, you'd be first in line furiously scrambling through your smart phone as the SHTF around you. I bet dialing 911 would be on your short list as well.
Some of you keyboard jockeys need to get in one fight for once in your life.
LOL...please tell me more about what I have and haven't done...just gaze into your crystal ball, Mr. I Have Proprietary Knowledge About What Shit Hitting the Fan Will Be Like...don't worry, everyone, R19 has things under control...carry on...
I'm sorry, but it sure sounds like YOU'RE the one here who has a desperate need to keep things under control...why is that? Are things spiraling out of control?
Riddle me this , R19.
What are the rules of engagement for this scenario?
Are there any at all?
Further reearch suggests that rule of engagement are referenced but not specified.
Can't have a military POlice without specific rules of engagement.
Institutionalized bullcrap is what is happening.
Deadly force in response is authorized and fully supported by the law in this situation. Deal with it.
Slaves
Shooting a homeless man is not fiscally responsible.
Where do they send the bill for the bullet and cleanup?
the bill goes to your house
Hard to believe in this day and age there isn't another way to take down a belligerent guy. They used to have something called a net...
they used to have something called respect
They Shoot Homeless, Don't They?
well...there goes that:
