US To China: 'Infrastructure Bank' This! - Test-Fires ICBM As A "Visual To The World"

Tyler Durden's picture

With allies migrating en masse to China's new infrastructure bank (and even the US having to admit it will 'cooperate'), it appears America has fallen back on what has worked for it in the past to ensure the world's largest creditor remains the world's reserve currency ad inifinitum - rattle its nuclear missile sabre... As the following clip shows, The US Air Force just test-fired a Minuteman III intercontinental ballistic missile from California, providing a "visual to the world."

*  *  *

As RT reports, an intercontinental ballistic missile was fired early Monday from a facility in California, the US Air Force announced, saying the tests were a message to the world about Washington's nuclear capabilities.

The Minuteman III missile was fitted with a “test re-entry vehicle” instead of a live thermonuclear warhead, and was test-launched from Vandenberg Air Force Base (AFB) in California at 03:36 local time (10:36 GMT), according to the Air Force statement.

"With these launches, we not only verify our processes and the ICBM (intercontinental ballistic missile) weapon system, we provide a visual to the world that the Minuteman III is capable of striking pretty much anywhere with extreme precision," said Lt. Col Tytonia Moore of the 90th Missile Wing, based out of the Francis E. Warren AFB in Wyoming, according to the statement.

The "Mighty Ninety" is one of the USAF’s three missile wing commands – the other two being the 91st at Minot AFB in North Dakota and the 341st at Malstrom AFB in Montana. There are roughly 450 ICBMs between the three.

Take that China! Can't catch one of those in a fishing net...

Message for the ignorant sheep because their priorities tend to lapse.

If no media message was made, the likes of Russia and China would know full well in any case what had happened.

Shall we all sing Koombaya together?  Hold hands. Roast hot dogs?  Who gets to bang the bongo?

Are you fucking kidding me?????

There always has been and there always will be war.  Because in case you hadn't noticed survival is a fight to the death - there are 7 billion people wanting what you have  --- and given the chance they would tear your fucking head off to get what you have.

We are fucking vile beasts us humans.   That is our nature.

You think Putin is any different than the guys runinng the US? Give your head a shake.   If the tables turned he will be FUCKING YOU as hard as we are fucking him.

Look at history - things NEVER change.   One empire replaces the other --- and the new empire is as or more vicious.

Because that is how you get to the top --- in the geopolitical game --- in the business world --- in sports.

Survival of the fitttest.

Pacifism will get you a BOOT on your THROAT.  Because there will always be someone out there who says hey look at this stupid sucker --- I am going to cave his head in and TAKE.

Look at the Jews - the piss pounded out of them - what did they do? Same thing to the Palestinians.

Look at the US blacks --- some were sent back to Africa (Liberia) and guess what they did?   You got it - they enslaved the native Africans.

If you think this is going to change you better think again --- because there are 7 billion of us nasty fuckers on this planet --- and as we know from reading these pages, there is even less of everything to go around.

We are running out of cheap to extract oil - the lifeblood of the global economy.  Fresh water is becoming a massive problem

Just watch what happens as this picks up steam - we'll be ripping each other to pieces.  More wars, more extremism, you name it. The gloves will come off and the knives will come out.

And you would have the US PTB dance around the camp fire singing Koombaya?  Are you fucking NUTS!

This is the last gasp of civilizaton -- you do whatever you have to to ensure your side gets as much as possible

Because you know what?

The other side is doing the exact same thing.

Same as it ever was --- only different this time

You Can't Handle the Truth! - A Few Good Men (7/8) Movie CLIP (1992) HD https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9FnO3igOkOk

Words of wisdom there.

The most vicious team wins.   Yes, it is a distasteful message to hear.  But it is the TRUTH.

The guys on the other side of the wall will overrun you in a heart beat.  Putin will - if given the chance - do to the US what the US has been doing to the world for decades now -- pillaging, murdering, torturing.

And the US is on top because it is the most vicious country.

But make no mistake --- this is a zero sum game.  And everyone wants YOUR piece of the limited pie

You like your nice house - your car - your 3 meals per day?   Great.  But remember you have that and a Somalian does not - because you are on the Winning Side.   You get a sliver of the spoils.

Are you ready to give your little sliver away?   I thought not.

So time to shut the hole and be thankful you are not an iraqi, or afghani, or libyan or syrian.

Because that is what you are wishing for.  Thankfully those at the top recognize the realities of the world we live in -- and that humans are intrinsically vicious beasts.   Every last one of us

Oh did I forget to mention:

Containing radiation equivalent to 14,000 times the amount released in the atomic bomb attack on Hiroshima 68 years ago, more than 1,300 used fuel rod assemblies packed tightly together need to be removed from a building that is vulnerable to collapse, should another large earthquake hit the area.  http://www.reuters.com/article/2013/08/14/us-japan-fukushima-insight-idUSBRE97D00M20130814

The problem is if the spent fuel gets too close, they will produce a fission reaction and explode with a force much larger than any fission bomb given the total amount of fuel on the site.  All the fuel in all the reactors and all the storage pools at this site (1760 tons of Uranium per slide #4) would be consumed in such a mega-explosion.  In comparison, Fat Man and Little Boy weapons dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki contained less than a hundred pounds each of fissile material - See more at: http://www.dcbureau.org/20110314781/natural-resources-news-service/fission-criticality-in-cooling-ponds-threaten-explosion-at-fukushima.html

A typical 1 GWe PWR core contains about 80 t fuels. Each year about one third of the core fuel is discharged into the pool. A pool with 15 year storage capacity will hold about 400 t spent fuel. To estimate the Cs-137 inventory in the pool, for example, we assume the Cs137 inventory at shutdown is about 0.1 MCi/tU with a burn-up of 50,000 MWt-day/tU, thus the pool with 400 t of ten year old SNF would hold about 33 MCi Cs-137. [7] Assuming a 50-100% Cs137 release during a spent fuel fire, [8] the consequence of the Cs-137 exceed those of the Chernobyl accident 8-17 times (2MCi release from Chernobyl). Based on the wedge model, the contaminated land areas can be estimated. [9] For example, for a scenario of a 50% Cs-137 release from a 400 t SNF pool, about 95,000 km² (as far as 1,350 km) would be contaminated above 15 Ci/km² (as compared to 10,000 km² contaminated area above 15 Ci/km² at Chernobyl).

Thus, it is necessary to take security measures to prevent such an event from happening.

the reason for such nuke missile accuracy is the fact that they are a geometric space / time device , and simply will not detonate if not delivered "on time and on target " .with- in very small parameters, :)

No word on this from any other source besides ZH and RT, both Russian protagonists. We don't have to prove shit to no one, and it amazes me that ZH continues to need to stoop for this kind of BS anti-American tripe. Russia has to threaten Denmark, what the fuck is the value of that? No one I know wants any territory, any part of Russia, they can have it, period.

ZH does a lot better when you focus on your financial analysis and issues and less on politics. Quit trying to stir up shit, those of us who grew up with all of this it is quite transparent. ZH's quality of posting has gone down a lot in the last 1-2 years. Get back to what you do well. You have never posted a pro-American position on any issue, any subject, any time in recent memory and your columnists hide behind the Tyler Durden moniker. Yet you cite other blog sources where the bloggers are courageous enough to identity themselves. Now I am not in favor of a lot of what DC does and Congress blows, but seriously you aren't any better with this kind of sniping. No government is wrong 100% of the time and that includes the USA, your arguments would have a lot more credibility if you referred to a few times when DC actually did something good to show you are capable of independent thought and not just some Russian mouthpiece.

I wonder whether the missle launch is tied to a banner: "Buy US Treasuries".

It's fairly obvious what the nuclear strategy here is.

The US is investing in a useless missile shield that does not actually work.

The shield stands zero chance of working against a real attack, but a single missile or two... maybe.

Nukes have been off limits for a long time now.  If you want to bring them back into the field though, here's what you do:

A single launch against a nuclear power.  Limited damage, find some excuse for it and then spam the media about it not being nuclear.  The enemy is well aware of what really happened, but MSM will talk about how they are liars and trying to find an excuse to launch a nuclear war and how THEY are the ones at fault.

So here's the response.  If it's a full launch, there's the end of the ballgame.  A launch in-kind however might be able to be gotten away with.  That shitty missle shield has a shot at denying it.  So say the shield works.  The propaganda machine is in hyperdrive about how the US is protected and how it downed a rogue missile (as long as the enemy is willing to play along now).  If the missile gets through, then the US can claim it was attacked without reason and the public will back a full response.

This position is established by the state of the media.  The majority still sees them as legitimate and on the international scene they can pretend they are independent by blabbering about issues that do not matter.  It's all government controlled propaganda, but that's still "tin foil hat" territory for some reason... despite it being proven over and over again.  Opposition news agencies are decried as non-legitimate or pure propaganda in a clear cut case of pot v kettle.

The US would LOVE to get into a nuclear war for the same reasons it LOVED getting into WW2.  If the US can get away with a nuclear launch, it's game over, US wins.  If a full exchange happens, it all really comes down to who starts it and how.  If the US can play the victim it gets a free hand to basically nuke everything.  Up north is the vast wasteland of Canada which has always been considered an ace in the sleeve.  US infrastructure is falling apart anyways, it's a great excuse to rebuild, and at the same time, there's not going to be as much of a power vaccum in a post-nuclear world in north america as there will be in europe and asia.  in a world war, whoever is on their feet first wins the next century.

laomei, have you considered the point of view of those who have really something to say in the US? they own lots of things they don't want to see incinerated

it's easy to say "The US would LOVE to get into a nuclear war for the same reasons it LOVED getting into WW2" from the point of view of someone that can move, and move his assets with him

war is a business. no profit, no war. but there is ample profit in war posturing

Their much hyped and PR propaganda system can't work against russian nukes . Let it be GMD , THAAD , AEGIS . Chinese nukes are still in modernization phase .

The fact that the USAF felt compelled to call the launch a "visual to the world" is a clear sign of desperation and fear.

I'm surprised there were no comments on the "costs" of this "visual to the world".

According to Wikipedia , Manufacturer is Boeing. Price is $7 million each(tax dollars), unless we(taxpayer) get a discount if we buy 450 of them....?

Is our leadership so delusional as to believe they can still win wars, despite the last two decades worth of evidence to the contrary?
