Germanwings Co-Pilot "Deliberately Destroyed" Airplane, Identified As 28-Year Old German Citizen
In one of the most chilling segments of this morning's press conference describing what was found on the cockpit voice recorder, screams were heard from passengers and crew as the realisation of what was about to happen struck them all. Prosecutor Brice Robin's findings state that when the German Captain left the cockpit - following what appeared to be - the 28-year-old German co-pilot (who was alive to the end) refused to re-open the door and began an "intentional", "controlled", and "steady" descent as he "seems to have sought to destroy the plane." Nothing indicates that this was a terrorist incident.
“At this moment, in light of investigation, the interpretation we can give at this time is that the co-pilot through voluntary abstention refused to open the door of the cockpit to the commander, and activated the button that commands the loss of altitude,” the prosecutor, Brice Robin, said.
He said it appeared that the co-pilot’s intention had been “to destroy the aircraft.” He said that the voice recorder showed that the co-pilot had been breathing until before the moment of impact, suggesting that he was conscious and deliberate in his actions. He said that his inquiry had shown that the crash was intentional.

The WSJ identifies the co-pilot as Andreas Lubitz...
The co-pilot of the Germanwings flight that crashed in the French Alps on Tuesday was Andreas Lubitz, 28, of Montabaur, according to a flight club where he was a member.
“Andreas became a member of the club as a youth to fulfill his dream of flying,” the LSC club said in a death notice on its website.
“He fulfilled his dream, the dream he now paid for so dearly with his life,” the club said. It said he was the co-pilot of the flight. A member of the flight club identified him to The Wall Street Journal on Thursday.

i've noticed that in San Diego, Americas' finest city, that it is open season on pedestrians and bicyclists. if you run over someone don't stop, go home and sober up first. Then take a look at the damage, if you have a Hummer or one of those big SUVs there probably isn't much, just go out and bump a tree a few times, and take it into the shop. the crosswalk only helps them improve their aim so a lot of pedestrians dont' use them, which is a wise move actually. On the other hand if you see a dog which has been hit by a car you stop, call the veterinary ambulance and they fix the dog for free and find it a good home. No questions asked.

From a Psychoanalytic perspective the only motivator for a co-pilot would be control of the plane. As a kid the co-pilot had always wanted to become a pilot, and as soon as he was able to take control of the plane without a pilot at the helm he availed himself of the opportunity. The co-pilot's last act in this World was intentional because he was classically conditioned over years of testing and assessment to become a pilot so that he could control the ship. In brief, when faced with total control over his own life, and that of passengers, he opted for a behavioural response that was in direct opposition to the classical conditioning that he was formally trained to adhere to. ERGO, it's either hypnosis/mind control false flag, or the dude was suicidal and depressed from a lack of rest and sleep. The religious component is not applicable because if he was a religious zealot the airline would have detected it during assessment/background checks. Moreover, all accidents in aviation are always attributed to "pilot error" if one reads up on causality issues associated with plane crashes.
NOTE: From a business perspective it is best to attach liability issues to a defective 'pilot/co-pilot' rather than claim it was due to the failure of any part of the mechanical engineering associated with the plane. In this way the manufacturer is always protected from liability and the manufacturer never has lost sales due to manufacturing defects in the overall design of the plane, or the parts. The manufacturer always maintains a healthy stock price, and the insurance companies quickly pay off the accident claims so that all the litigators are happy.
Only take the best and highest paying airlines, smart and good pilots go there. Don't go for these low budget ones.
Nothing in the co-pilots profile or character suggests he would be a candidate for this.

Young man who loved flying since he was a kid. Grows up, becomes pilot and lives his dream. Described as funny with a good sense of humor. Nothing at all to suggest he was depressed or suicidal.
Suicide candidates generally do not want to cause harm to anyone else. Going out with a bang like this, noticing there were babies on the plane does not fit the criteria for a typical suicide candidate.

What, the guy Andreas wakes up that morning and goes for breakfast in Barcelona. Then decides this is the day and this is the flight he is going to crash into the mountain as soon as the Captain leaves the cockpit?
Andreas had to intentionally hit the descent button several times to get the plane down. He overrode the cockpit safety door. He ignores the Captain's attempts to open the door and he ignores the numerous communication attempts by ground control? Ok, he may have turned off the radio.

I don't have as much faith in the assessment of the investigators as everyone else seems to. All of this hinges on his breathing being normal. Would your breathing be normal if you were about to crash a plane? I was once in seat 1B during a night take-off and the cockpit door flew open on takeoff. The flight attendent freaked a bit but did not or could not leave the jump-seat to close the door until the later. It was an awesome view.

Here's a wild theory. The flight reached cruising altitude somewhere over the Med. An hour or so into the flight and still well before reaching the French shores, the plane diverts from the path and starts its descent. Plane could have been aiming to crash straight into one of the rich towns along the French Riviera. Maybe even going straight into Monte Carlo, Monaco. French fighter jets get up to possibly intercept the plane. Monte Carlo is guarded possibly heavier than Fort Knox. Completely logical that the French military would try everything possible to make sure, this plane does not crash into the one place where many rich & famous live year round. Most expensive real estate, most expensive penthouse ever being built and so on.
There you go. There is a possible motive and a possible story of why the plane ended up in the mountains rather than crashing into the party at Monte Carlo's crabs tables.

Several recent plane crashes have been blamed on pilot suicide. If that were so, why do we not see buses full of passengers being driven into concrete embankments? Seems to me a bus driver is far more likely to be suicidal than an airpane pilot.
According to his Facebook page he was a recent muslim convert. Color me shocked.
On Friday, the German newspaper Bild said that the Lufthansa flight school in Phoenix, Arizona had designated Lubitz at the time as “not suitable for flying”.
The newspaper said he spent a year-and-a-half receiving psychiatric treatment. Several times he was forced to repeat his flying classes because of depression, before he successfully finished his training. In 2009 he was diagnosed with a “severe depressive episode”, Bild reported.
He was given “special regular medical examination” by a doctor as well as the coding “SIC” which stands for "specific regularly occurring medical examinations" performed by a doctor. This coding also appeared on his pilot’s licence.
Citing police sources, Bild said the investigation is examining whether Lubitz had been suffering from a “personal life crisis”. He is said to have had a relationship crisis with his girlfriend and to have suffered emotional problems. The local Westerwälder newspaper said Lubitz and his girlfriend had been together for seven years and were living in a flat in Düsseldorf.
Lufthansa has yet to respond to the claims. Bild, Germany’s best-selling newspaper, is normally – though not always – a reliable source of news, and has an extensive network of sources.
“The flight deck is capable of accommodating three pilots and there shouldn’t ever be a situation where there is only one person in the cockpit,” said James Hall, a former chairman of the US National Transportation Safety Board, referring to the “jump seats” all airliners are equipped with.
Others questioned the wisdom of sealing off the cockpit at all. “The kneejerk reaction to the events of 9/11 with the ill-thought reinforced cockpit door has had catastrophic consequences,” said Philip Baum, London-based editor of the trade magazine Aviation Security International.

Investigators searching the Düsseldorf apartment of the co-pilot on the Germanwings flight that crashed into the French Alps on Tuesday have found evidence he hid an illness from his employers, prosecutors said on Friday.
The evidence is a torn-up doctors’ note, signing him off work on the day of the crash.
“Medical documents were found that indicate an ongoing illness and suitable medical treatment,” Düsseldorf prosecutors said in a statement.
“The circumstance that torn-up current medical certificates - also pertaining to the day of the act - were found, supports, after preliminary examination, the assumption that the deceased hid his illness from his employer and his professional circles.”
“Investigations as well as the assessment of the medical treatment documents will take some days. As soon as reliable findings emerge, we will inform relatives and the public.”
No suicide note or claim of responsibility has been found, the prosecutors said.

GERMAN prosecutors revealed the “significant discovery” made at Germanwing co-pilot Andreas Lubitz’s home was a sick note covering the day of the crash.
Prosecutors found torn-up and current sick leave notices suggesting he was ill and receiving medical treatment, backing up suspicions he hid his illness from his employer and colleagues. While investigators did not specify what illness Lubitz had, German media reports he needed ongoing assessments for severe depression, BBC reports.
The news comes following revelations the captain used an axe to try and get back into the cockpit. German daily Bild cited security sources saying the captain,
Patrick Sonderheimer, tried using an axe to break down the cockpit’s armoured door.
This could not be immediately confirmed, but a spokesman for Germanwings confirmed to AFP that an axe was on board the aircraft.
Such a tool is “part of the safety equipment of an A320,” the spokesman told Bild.
Lubitz reportedly suffered a major breakdown following a recent relationship breakdown.
According to The Telegraph in the UK,
Lubitz was engaged to be married next year, but had recently broken up with his fiancee.
It is understood that the 28-year-old was struggling to cope after the relationship failed.
The theory emerged hours after The Guardian reported Lubitz stopped his training to be a pilot six years ago because he was suffering from “psychological problems”.
The report, quoted from German daily Bild, said the Lufthansa flight school in Phoenix designated Lubitz at the time as “not suitable for flying”.
Yesterday, police announced they had made a “significant discovery” at Lubitz’s home in Dusseldorf.
German media also reported that police were investigating one particular piece of paper which they believe held clues to Lubitz’s horrific actions.
Markus Niesczery of Dusseldorf Police told the Daily Mail: “We wanted to search to see if we could find something that would explain what happened.”
“We have found something which will now be taken for tests. We cannot say what it is at the moment but it may be a very significant clue to what has happened,” Mr Niesczery said.
