U.S. Defense Secretary: We Might Bomb Iran Even If a Peace Agreement Is Signed

George Washington's picture

U.S. Secretary of Defense Ashton Carter said that a deal with Iran wouldn’t necessarily prevent war.

Military.com reports:

The U.S. will reserve the right to use military force to prevent Iran from developing a nuclear weapon even if a deal is reached Iran’s nuclear program, Defense Secretary Ashton Carter said Tuesday.

The military option certainly will remain on the table,” Carter said as negotiators in Lausanne, Switzerland, struggled to reach an agreement ahead of a March 31 deadline.

“One of my jobs is to make sure all options are on the table,’ Carter said in remarks at Syracuse University and earlier on NBC’s “Today” program.

We thought that Iran getting nuclear weapons was the main reason we were thinking of bombing them.  So if a peace deal is signed with the U.S., why are we still talking about bombing them?

What's going on?

In reality, top American and Israeli military and intelligence officials say that Iran poses no danger.

But the hawks have desperately been trying to stir up war with Iran for decades, as part of a 65-year program of regime change all over the world carried out by the U.S.

And the U.S. has inserted itself smack dab in the middle of a religious war ... and is backing the most violent side. And see this.

The American people want peace, but the military-industrial complex wants war.

A small sample-

Precisely what we believe is immaterial; what matters is the kind of behaviour that belief generates. . . . As far as our genes are concerned we can believe that the universe is driven by an overweight fairy on a green cheese bicycle provided that such belief effectively coerces us into adopting tribal behaviour in all matters of evolutionary consequence, such as feeding, mating, nurturing, bonding, and protecting family, tribe and territory.

* * *

Despite the astonishing behavioral flexibility that has steered this maladapted primate so adroitly through some 2.5 million hazardous years, the animal is still vulnerable in the way that all animals are vulnerable: through its adaptive specialisations. By endowing the human brain with its language facility, evolution has ensured that human genes will continue to bypass the cerebral cortex at will, disguising fact with ‘significance’ and turning imagination into perceived fact. This prodigious talent for spiritualising its perceptions seems certain to keep this sapient primate safely sequestered from reality and well within reach of the biosphere’s standard forms of population control.

There were three evolutionary prerequisites for our particular flaw: in view of our physical inadequacy it needed to be extraordinarily beneficial to begin with, and even when switched into its destruct mode it had to remain well disguised and thoroughly tamper-proof. All of those evolutionary requirements have been fulfilled. Our timebomb is mysticism. Its delivery system is language. And its hiding place? The unfathomable coils of our DNA.”

War is their tool. Power soothes ego. Personal egos are seduced by visions of larger group egos. Psychopaths believe in an imagined destiny.

The National Socialists had their master race. The Chosen have their promises from God. Exceptionals are destined to rule the world. Superiority expects results. Generals obey to be obeyed. I deserve, therefore I take. The uebermensch emotes instead of thinks.

They imagine a god/destiny selecting them. You imagine a god/destiny that is good and kind. Your delusion cannot counter their delusion. Say and act NO. There is no free solution.

It's the logic of addiction.  Addicts are universally connected to delusional thinking.  "If I [drink / take this drug / screw this person / get this money, etc], then my life will be better."  With this group, power and exercising power are their drug.  They are convinced that if they [follow this policy], then life will be better.  And they are the ultimate addicts and delusional thinkers, because they believe not only will life be better for them, it will be better for everyone!  People in positions to control societies have always been this way, but never before have other power addicts had access to as much raw control as the people currently running the global political / economic power centers.  Their delusions are reaping more destruction as a result.  Technology has amplified this aspect of human nature to a level that now threatens our self-annihilation.  God has a strange sense of humor...

I've always been puzzled *why* Israel (and the neo-cons) are so dead-set on attacking Iran.

There is always more than one reason for something, but it seems to me that the key is found in the attitude of the Ayatollah Khomeini towards Israel and Sunni Islam.

In my view, Israel and the neo-cons do EVERYTHING THEY CAN to foment hatred, dissension, and chaos within Islam. Saudi Arabia goes along with this for reasons that are probably obvious - they don't want to play second fiddle to Iran (whether they were Shia or not).

The worn out meme "the Shia and Sunni have been at each others throats forever" is actively fostered by the Zionist Deep State to hide who is really behind the chaos.

And of course, the chaos is all in keeping to the Oded Yinon thesis that Greater Israel is to remain an island of calm within a raging sea of surrounding chaos.

So where does Khomeini fit in this? Khomeini wanted peace, harmony and unity between Shia and Sunni, better to focus Islam against its real enemy, which of course he correctly identified as Israel.

If Iran is able to gain the bomb and rally the rest of Islam against Israel, it's curtains for the Jewish state, and the House of Saud would probably not be far behind.

The bomb is only part of the equation - providing a unified front against Israel is what they are really afraid of...

The "chaos" plan of course has been carried out with the US Anglo-Zionist Deep State sponsored colored revolutions, and has worked VERY well (remember, the goal was the exact opposite of "peace, stability, democracy, etc").

Where color revolutions aren't possible, Anglo-Zionist sponsored terror will do, hence the seemingly wanton bombing and drone strikes against marriage parties, children in Gaza, Gaddafi (a true Arab visionary) etc. The more hate and chaos, the better!

Its has worked so well, that it was repeated in Ukraine, and parts of it have even been tried in Hong Kong (at least getting to the tent city demonstration phase).

Unfortunately for the Deep State, I think its techniques are starting to fail and lead to the black swans that will destroy the Anglo-Zionist Empire.

It (the Beast) is not "crazy", in fact it is all too human, in a perverse way.  Dr Frankenstein's Beast not only possesses institutional memory, but mimics the behavior it sees in its Creator.  Where it gets perverse is that the Beast does not actually have the empathy for certain lost souls that its Creators did have.  There are approximately 300 reasons why Iran will be bombed regardless of any agreement (the downside of institutional memory), among them are:

If the Washington DC people actually cared about USA soldiers, I believe they would stop sending USA soldiers to the other side of the world to get killed, and would, instead, let the countries on the other side of the world send THEIR soldiers to get killed.

But, apparently, to Washington DC people, "image IS everything".

I remember President Ronald Reagan's response to the Beirut Barracks Bombing: Reagan sent a mighty fleet to invade the tiny Caribbean island of Grenada.  Thus, Reagan gained the image of Triumphant Courageous War Hero of Grenada, and avoided the image of Naive Servant Of Foreigners in Lebanon.

Of course image is everything, otherwise there would be moar disturbances in the farce... and 'Muricans would be 'po as the debtors they actually are.

A couple month's after Reagan's similar (over) reaction to the Berln Disco Bombing, a friend of mine was sent to meet with Q'Daf because his sovereign was concerned that Libya was providing support to a domestic Muslim "terrorist" campaign.  His measured and researched conclusion was that Libya was not providing arms or money to these insurgents.  Of course Q'Daf "switched sides" a few years later and became BFF with Uncle Sam (and Goldman Sachs, the LSE, et al), but the institutions remembered, and when opportunities presented themselves simultaneously in Libya and Syria- the institutions chose to bomb Libya, using the excuse of R2P, even though the case for R2P was stronger in Syria at the time...

Nuclear proliferation is just the current excuse (irrespective of its validity) with regards to the public face of Iran sanctions, when the time comes and the appropriate opportunity presents itself (whether in the guise of R2P or some GCC false flag), the institutions will act against the regime in Tehran.

Thank you.  I think TPTB also remembered that Qaddafi was the first Arab leader to demand higher prices for his oil.  He succeeded, and that set the example for all the other Arab and other OPEC countries to demand and get higher prices.  Whatever money OPEC countries got, some global oil corporations lost (and automobile-drivers lost, and users of electrical-power-generated-by-burning-oil lost).  Anyway, I think TPTB had it in for Qaddafi from the day he succeeded in getting more money for Libya's oil.  The "Arab Spring" gave them the excuse they needed to take him out.

The MCESG staff and Operation Eagle Claw members did not die for a corrupt ruling elite oligarchy.  Even the CIA didn't have its A-game team or full bag of dirty tricks in place against Iran at the time (since they were primarily focused on the USSR).

But the racketeers will certainly profit off others' losses.

Iran actually managed the rare feat of uniting Foggy Bottom, Langley and the Pentagram... and a certain generation of leadership that now rules those fiefdoms were the classmates of the fallen or crossed the line in the immediate aftermath, and that institutional "hatred" shaped their thinking in their formative years inside the Beast as mere cogs in the system they now control.

Indeed, I have NEVER encountered any realistic explanations of how systems of lies backed by violence are supposed to be stopped by anything other than their own self-destruction. More rational evidence and logical arguments have NO EFFECT upon established systems based on backing up lies with violence or enforcing frauds. Those kinds of systems ONLY care about being able to continue to back up their lies with violence, and do NOT CARE about anything else than some alternative violence which could interfere with their own ability to be violent.

"NO ONE will do a damn thing about it," because the only things that they CAN DO are either accomplish practically nothing, or make things relatively worse. That is, NO ONE can do anything but attempt to present more rational evidence and logical arguments against the established systems of lies backed by violence, which will continue to have NO EFFECT, or else, they can also resort to being violent too, which will make sure that things overall actually get worse, faster.

So far, I have NEVER encountered any reasonable explanations regarding how the entropic processes of a society dominated by systems of enforced frauds, through backing up lies with violence, can reverse that flow. As far as I can tell, the ONLY possible futures are ones in which things get worse, faster, and the only ways to respond to that are to try to slow that down, or speed that up.

It is marginally possible to try to slow down how fast things get worse, and perhaps possible to decrease how bad they are going to get, so that disasters could be recovered from sooner. However, in each short-term increment, those who are socially successful by being able to back up lies with violence continue doing so, while nobody else can prevent that from happening, without also resorting to violence, since systems of lies backed by violence deliberately ignore anything else but violence.

That is the current foundation of our political economy, within which "war is a racket," whose runaway criminal insanities can not be stopped, the same as how the overall political economy based on enforced frauds cannot be stopped by anything else than the longer term consequences of the basic dilemmas that enforcing frauds never stops those frauds from still being false, but nevertheless, those frauds can continue being enforced in ways which enables them to continue to be socially successful in each short-term increment, despite the overall tragic trajectory that society as a whole thereby becomes more and more psychotically insane, in proportion to the degree that lies were backed by violence, or frauds were enforced.

IF there was anyone who could reasonably and realistically explain to me how anything could be done differently, then I would do that. However, I am not aware of any ways that anyone can actually do anything that makes sense, within the context of the established social systems being based on thousands of years of backing up lies with violence, and enforcing frauds, whereby those who are set up to continue to do that have every short-term advantage to continue to do so, while "NO ONE will do a damn thing about it," BECAUSE NO ONE CAN!

"IF there was anyone who could reasonably and realistically explain to me how anything could be done differently, then I would do that."

There are men and women doing something differently about it.  There are many priests of various philosophies and others with no formal religious affiliation who are teaching and living genuine peace.  It's the best anyone can do.

As a society, however, it unfortunately seems human instincts toward violence and telling/believing lies are strong enough that they hold the upper hand.  The peace teachers are viewed as a quaint and sweet - sometimes trendy or cool - accent among us.  They are not ever seriously considered.  This is the problem.  Think of the emotional strings that are plucked when the word "pacifist" is used.  Is there not an internal sense somewhere of "naive"?  Until enough people see pacifism as the kick-ass incredible control over a violent nature that it is, the violence will continue.  Pacifists are not without violent instincts; we just see the futility of acting on those instincts and so act differently.  We work our asses off not to be slaves to our violent natures.  It's hard work, but fuck if we don't need people to start doing some serious internal work.  If we don't, your comment is spot on.

No one can and everyone can. You can save this sick world all by yourself. The solution can be nothing but a paradox, realizing that all the thinking is circular so if YOU start with the *problem* in your mind, no matter how advanced your reasoning and intelligence, you will always come back to the beginning, right back to that *problem*. The universe you are looking at does not have an objective meaning separate from that you give it to yourself. Never start with idea there is a problem in the first place. But to do that in effective way and not with ignorance only your mind must not identify with anything impermanent. "You are not the body but the Spirit" is the sweet fruit inside the today's more or less bitter pell we call religions.

You can not really fight against "evil" because if you do, there can be only 2 solutions, both unsatisfactory. 1.: evil exists, so this place is nothing else but hell. 2.:evil exists, but I can fight against it and win, but in that process it is you who will become that evil itself, the thing you hated in the first place!

War is indeed a racket RM.  The real problem is the only military option is to nuke these facilities.  Conventional bombs and munitions will not take out Iran's enrichment facilities.  We would have allowed Israel to already take them out if they did not need nukes.

Obama threatened to shoot Israel aircraft down because of this.  Israel already had the strike scheduled and was going to execute it.

Russia and China are Irans friends and assisting them in their nuclear program.  I do nto think they are making a bomb myself.  But enriching uranium can indeed be diverted to weapons programs.
