US Police Kill More Civilians In March Than UK Police Killed In 100 Years

The following statistics seem impossible to believe. While I wonder how accurately the UK has been tracking these numbers historically, the enormous spread seems much too large to ignore, and is a national embarrassment that should be dealt with immediately.

A new report by ThinkProgress.com unearthed disturbing figures when it came to the number of police-related deaths that occurred in America in the month of March alone.
Just last month, in the 31 days of March, police in the United States killed more people than the UK did in the entire 20th century. In fact, it was twice as many; police in the UK only killed 52 people during that 100 year period.
According to the report by ThinkProgess, in March alone, 111 people died during police encounters — 36 more than the previous month.
This high number in March increased the average for police killings from every 8.5 hours, to nearly 1 police killing every 6.5 hours in the US.
China, whose population is 4 and 1/2 times the size of the United States, recorded 12 killings by law enforcement officers in 2014.
On average, US police kill people at a rate 70 times higher than any of the other first world countries as they “protect and serve” the American citizens.
This is not what freedom looks like.

The police are civilians, dammit. Just because they structure their organizational hierarchy with military titles like "Lieutenant" and "Sargent", outfit themselves with military weapons, vehicles, and personal gear, train in Special Weapons And Tactics, etc. doesn't make them part of the U.S. Armed Forces. U.S. Law Enforcement Officers are subject to U.S. civilian laws and courts, not military codes of conduct and military courts.
I am sick of Law Enforcement's entrenched mentality that they are somehow not civilians. The "display of force" after the Boston Bombing shows how far they've gone over the edge. Telling the "civilians" to "shelter in place" while they paraded around in armored cars and riot gear to demonstrate that they had the situation in hand was scary. The mass media kept showing us scenes of these military wannabees and the narrative was that it was an appropriate response, look how well things are being handled. When it was over the dimwit "civilians" crawled out of their shelter-in-place hideouts and proudly proclaimed "Boston Strong".
This country is falling apart.
I think the cops would act differently if they were tried under the UCMJ instead of the civilian courts full of their buddies...

Thanks for mentioning Boston. That always bothered me. Couple of nutcases set off a bomb and kill a couple of people so the cops go into full blown military occupier mode and shut down an entire city, essentially declaring martial law and suspending basic civil rights. Really scary precedent but the boot-licking media was 100% on board with the "scary terrorism justifies anything" spin.
It's of course not real. It's all just part of the American Dream.
In UK, the government needs heavy tax from lemmings to continuously fund them, so there is no incentive to physically harm civilians. When you have heavy unfunded liability and lots of jobless people, then it is another formula. Government doesn't care people, only care how they can get more revenue in.
Will need to check the UK statistics, but in case of China, any official estimate, especially compiled on Wiki is garbage.

This event is not included in the Wiki, but it more than double the counts. There are many more reported and thousands that are not (due to censorship).
Attack the problem without resorting to faking figures. Doing otherwise discredits what may very well be a serious problem.

Forty years ago I served four years as a JAG in the US Air Force. At that time the Air Force tested each enlistee for general intelligence and aptitudes. The enlistees with the lowest intelligence scores were assigned to be cooks and police as these job skills were thought to require only the lowest level of intelligence.
That's what happens when eveyone has a gun. Cops kill people, people kill cops, people kill people. It's the American way. Ain't that complicated.

With all due respect to Liberty Blog and ZH, this is an idiotic post. Firstly, US population is 6x as large and has 10x the number of major population centers, Charleston & Ferguson notwithstanding. Secondly, these "killings" all need to be put in context. You can't make a blanket statement without qualifying it. You can, but it would be dishonest. Were they senselss killings like this recent one in South Carolina or were the cops justified in using deadly force because they were being fired upon or assaulted?
Insane NRA gun owners are putting our brave police officers on edge. These terroristic NRA thugs are arming up with sickening assault weapons which are weapons of war that no regular citizen should be able to even touch let alone load up with armor penetrating cop killer bullets. An assault weapon was used to murder scores of children at Sandy Hook elementary school and it was loaded with these armor penetrating bullets that were so powerful it blew giant holes in the walls and made the school almost collapse. Why does anyone except for the government need such power? It's sickening and it's time to put an end to it. As a conservative in the Ronald Reagan mold I support gun control. No American should be armed. End of story.
Almost every citizen in Switzerland, and certainly 99% of homes are protected by citizens with loaded weapons. I believe Canadians have more rifles and shotguns per capita than the US. But, they rarely ever have a police shooting a civilian. I don't think there's are correlation. It's a police-state mentality, not the number of weapons in the hands of the citizenry.
If this goes on much longer, the only thing that will protect you will be the weapons in the hands of civilians, not the police. That's a fact.
Those societies used to not have near the number of subhumans inhabiting their space, but they are catching up, so the stats will normalize to US standards soon.
Stop paying people to have babies.
Next year: stop earned-income tax rebates and dependent deductions for any dependents born thereafter.
Then, 8 years later: stop school lunch programs and all other giveaways to people who had children after next year.

NRA members don't commit violent crimes. Takes a look at the FBI crime statistics. Violent crimes are concentrated in predominantly Democrat areas. Violent crimes are correlated with Welfare households in large cities. "Assault" rifles are used in .04% of crimes, mostly stolen. Of the three police officers that I know personally, all are NRA members. Please come back when you have some data to support your claims.

The UK is one fifth the population of the US. US Military is not allowed to operate on US soil, not so with the UK Military. Combine the stats with UK military operating in the UK and adjust with the population of the US and then write your article.

That is kind of interesting. It's not like Britain is not a major part of the ZWO banking establishment. Their society is not all that homogenous, though immigrants there were by choice not force.
