Texas Governor Calls Up State Guard To Counter Jade Helm "Federal Invasion" Fears

Tyler Durden's picture

We’ve mentioned the upcoming Jade Helm military exercises on a few occasions lately (here and here). In short, Jade Helm is an eight-week joint military and Interagency Unconventional Warfare exercise conducted throughout Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, California, Nevada, Utah and Colorado. Here’s the official press release:

FORT BRAGG, N.C. (USASOC News Service, March 24, 2015) - Members of U.S. Army Special Operations Command will train with other U.S Armed Forces units July 15 through Sept. 15 in a multi-state exercise called Jade Helm 15.

USASOC periodically conducts training exercises such as these to practice core special warfare tasks, which help protect the nation against foreign enemies. It is imperative that Special Operations Soldiers receive the best training, equipment and resources possible.

While multi-state training exercises such as these are not unique to the military, the size and scope of Jade Helm sets this one apart. To stay ahead of the environmental challenges faced overseas, Jade Helm will take place across seven states. However, Army Special Operations Forces (ARSOF) will only train in five states: Texas, Arizona, New Mexico, Utah and Colorado. The diverse terrain in these states replicates areas Special Operations Soldiers regularly find themselves operating in overseas.

The training exercise will be conducted on private and public land with the permission of the private landowners, and from state and local authorities.  In essence, all exercise activity will be taking place on pre-coordinated public and private lands.

The public can expect nothing much different from their day-to-day activities since much of exercise will be conducted in remote areas. The most noticeable effect the exercise may have on the local communities is an increase in vehicle and military air traffic and its associated noise. There will also be economic gain: an increase in the local economy, in fuel and food purchases and hotel lodging.

This exercise is routine training to maintain a high level of readiness for ARSOF since they must be ready to support potential missions anywhere in the world at a moment’s notice.

During this eight-week period, ARSOF soldiers will use this opportunity to further develop tactics, techniques and procedures for emerging concepts in Special Operations warfare.

USASOC intends to conduct the exercise safely and courteously while providing the best possible training available for the nation's Army Special Operations Forces. State and local officials are being informed of the scope of Jade Helm and will continue to be updated as the exercise progresses.

Got it. So essentially, from July 15 to September 15 some military personnel are going to take a trip out west and pretend like they are conducting covert operations overseas. Doesn’t sound too exciting — but that’s just the press release. The devil, as they say, is always in the details which is why we took some time to look over the Jade Helm presentation (embedded below) to see if we could discern more about the drills. Here are some highlights we found interesting/humorous.

First, there’s the rather amusing state classification map wherein Texas and Utah are deemed “hostile” and where New Mexico is “leaning hostile.” California is “permissive” (we suppose this means the populace has resigned itself to what was probably, were this real, a unilateral invasion by the US military), but unfortunately, there appears to be an insurgency brewing in San Diego.

Next is the section entitled “Why Texas?” wherein the US Army Special Operations Command first explains how patriotic Texans generally are, then hilariously proceeds to suggest (in as polite a manner as possible) that the Lone Star state 1) resembles the type of desert wasteland soldiers might expect to encounter in a modern overseas conflict, 2) is just underdeveloped enough in many areas to give trainees an idea of what it might be like to be operating undercover in a hostile Middle Eastern country, 3) is home to the type of xenophobia which will make the locals approximately as skeptical of “outsiders” as the inhabitants of an occupied country might be but who are at the same time just gullible enough to be tricked into trusting the “invaders,” and best of all 4) is home to social and economic conditions that any normal American would consider “unfamiliar.” Here are some excerpts:

Why Texas?

The United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) has conducted numerous exercises in Texas, because Texans are historically supportive of efforts to prepare our soldiers, airmen, marines and sailors to fight the enemies of the United States.

To hone advanced skills, the military and Interagency require large areas of undeveloped land with low population densities with access to towns…

Operating in and around communities where anything out the ordinary will be spotted and reported (Locals are the first to notice something out of place). The opportunity to work with civilians to gain their trust and an understanding of the issues...

Adapting to unfamiliar terrain, social and economic conditions.

Basically then, 1,200 special ops soldiers are going to conduct a fake, covert infiltration of Texas because the US Special Operations Command thinks that in a lot of ways, Texas resembles Afghanistan.

That’s ok though, because as the government notes in the informational slide deck, the operation will have a dramatic impact on the local economy thanks to the injection of a staggering $150,000 via the purchase of “food, gas, lodging, and services” for the pretend invaders. That figure may sound small, but remember, we’re suspending reality here and one dollar equals 57 afghanis, so if we stick with the Afghanistan analogy, the government is actually injecting 8,550,000 in local currency.

While we’re certainly concerned about the creeping militarization of American communities (as discussed in detail here), we’re clearly employing a bit of sarcasm in our analysis of Jade Helm, but as one might imagine, many Texans are finding the operation to be no laughing matter. Here’s more via The Washington Post:

At an information session in Bastrop on Monday, command spokesman Lt. Col. Mark Lastoria fielded questions about whether Jade Helm 15 will involve bringing foreign fighters from the Islamic State to Texas, whether U.S. troops will confiscate Texans’ guns and whether the Army intends to implement martial law, according to the Austin American-Statesman.

“It’s the same thing that happened in Nazi Germany: You get the people used to the troops on the street, the appearance of uniformed troops and the militarization of the police,” Bastrop resident Bob Wells told the Statesman after the meeting.

“They’re gathering intelligence. That’s what they’re doing. And they’re moving logistics in place for martial law. That’s my feeling. Now, I could be wrong. I hope I am wrong. I hope I’m a ‘conspiracy theorist.'”

According to the Statesman, Lastoria attempted to assuage residents’ concerns, saying the operation in Bastrop County will take place almost entirely on private land leased to the Army by the owner. And participants won’t be trying to sneak through the population undetected — everyone involved will wear uniforms or orange armbands signaling that they are part of the exercise, he said.

Meanwhile, some websites which The Post describes as being “of varying repute” have gone so far as to posit a link between Wal-Mart’s recent “plumbing” problems and Jade Helm.

We’ll leave it to readers to decide for themselves how far-fetched any or all of this is or isn’t, but surely the punchline to the entire story is that now, Texas Governor Greg Abbott has ordered the Texas State Guard to monitor the Jade Helm exercises. Here is the letter from Abbott to Major General “Jake” Betty:

Abbott Jade Helm

This surely marks Jade Helm's "full retard" moment, as you now have a Texas governor pitting the Texas Guard against the US Special Operations Command amid fears the federal government — possibly in conjunction with Wal-Mart — is using special forces to gather intelligence on the way to taking over the state. Only in America.

If the Tylers wrote this .. and not one of their demented cousins .. its indicative of how very little they know about the changing nature of the military .. the 'new' military is special operations .. much of the budget and real power is in SOCOM .. SOCOM is now part of the MIC .. its useless to tell someone who has not followed this crap for a decade.. how the MIC .. and branch of the military have morphed into pretty much one and the same thing... ever attend one of their conferences in Tampa... there is no difference between SOC and Academi aka Blackwater. .Executive Outcmoes as was .. or Sandline or other private mercenaryIf the Tylers snarky article is any indication the full retard moment is not Abbot but the Tylers. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uGe8btWuf9A

http://www.wired.com/2012/05/clinton-goes-commando/             http://absoluterights.com/hilary-clinton-inglorious-commando-in-chief/   . .Unless you follow this crap you do not see the pattern that has formed over nearly two decades... or the misues of the military not only to take out the bad guys.. but to topple governments . this is not your father's America or military . the new lot is a breed apart . .part MIC . part Call of Duty commando and the fact is many of them have no qualms about taking on US citizens for fun and profit .. Tylers disappoint .. its not conspiracy . .it been happening right under our noses.. those who have been close to the military know its NOT the same anymore. Jade Helm may not be a run up to martial law . but it is something being done to get people used to the idea of what used to be the US military but is now more part of an international force . that is well documented.. Posse Commitatus is a dead duck .. it was shredded by the Pentagon ten years ago .. staring in the 90s .. after 911 .. it was done . just go read the various papers on PC the DoD put out over the last decade... use or misuse of the military is going to happen min the US .. particularly when SHTF .. and it will .. what happened to ZH .. is Tyler dead and been possessed by some troll from the Pentagon .. WTF is going on??????????????????????//

Right there with you CogD.  Lots of things about this are "different".

  • Jade Helm is about "Mastering the Human Terrain". Claiming they are mastering a "human terrain" that is socially, culturally, and economically totally different than AfPak or MENA does not sound right somehow.
  • This also comes after many senior officers have been dismissed.
  • This comes as we are sending "advisors" to the Ukraine and are still thinking of going into Yemen, and some still want us in Syria.
  • "Cashless Society" - the CIA has used cash to fund off-the-books projects for years. Are they getting ready to throw the cartels under the bus and ride "cybercrime" as their next anaymous funding source? Is the DHS getting ready to sideline the CIA in domestic operations?
  • The Squid and others are sounding economic alarms.ut
  • The revelation of the "Internet cutoff" document. Penned in 2013, but e hear about it now?

These are not reasons to feel comfortable.

We should be so lucky if the military is *only* practicing for an invasion of Texas. It's practicing for imposition of a nationwide state of emergency after quantitative easing, and therefore the dollar, collapses.

Nothing "full retard" about the Texas National Guard monitoring the military's coup d'etat preparations. That's simple common sense. What's absurd is that Texas didn't prohibit the military from entering Texas.

Then again, Rick Perry tried to prohibit the TSA from operating in Texas and got slapped with the threat of a blockade, so maybe that was at the back of the Governor's mind.

If the governor of a state "fucking Texas bro" is concerned about the federal government invading said state.... ummm  maybe there is cause for concern outside the conspiracy label.

Just saying.

...and so is the governor of Texas.

Living in central Texas, and less than 5mi from an army post, there is legitimate cause for concern. I'm basically at ground zero when TSHTF.  As a Vietnam vet Tyler,  I can assure you, if you don't like the way civilian police handle conflict, you really won't like the military method. Hint, its not discreet. To not note Posse Comitatus violations in this article defeats any real reason to write it. Learn your history or stick to finance.

I don't see why people are making such a big deal out of who they are. 'THEY' are the same people who have ben trying for over a decade to pacify the smaller countries or Iraq and Afghanistan, quite unsuccessfully, I might add. Same goes with Vietnam. We haven't won jack shit in decades, aside from Grenada. Wahoo..... Looking over America's military escapades over the last few years shows nothing but a long list of failures. Sure, we can go in a destroy all the obvious military bases and equipment, and completely abliterate all infrastructure, but that doesn't conquer a country. And I still find it hard to believe that the brainwashing has gone so deep that they will regard other Americans the way they have been conditioned to regard all the brown people in hajji-land. yes, Nazi Germany, for instance, had german soldiers doing horrible things to german civilians that stepped out of line, but this also comes down to how much they liked the leaders of their country. People tend to forget that Hitler was at one time very popular with the people of germany, especially the average troops(top military leaders  were another story), but that has never been the case with obama, and its REALLY not the case now

And who would have picked the ragheads on the mountain versus the SEAL team depicted in 'Lone Survivor'?  Same story down in Panama when the SEALs were supposed to take and hold the airfield.  If it comes to an all-out effort, SEALs would go down.  Simple law of numbers and logistics.  Also, the SEALs aren't the toughest fighters for such a scenario.  Those would be the Green Berets, who are trained to motivate/recruit/lead counterinsurgents from amongst the indigenous population.  I know, Green Berets are on deck for Jade Helm.  Very interesting force selected (Green Berets, Rangers, SEALs).  It is the best-of-the-best.  I'd still take the Texans.

I think the bet you're making is the safe one.

I got bored and did some number-checking. The number NICS checks in Texas per year is equal to 10% of the entire state's population. Per year (and they're not even close to being number one). So in 10 years there's a gun for every resident, and this is just new gun sales. 27 million residents, so just one percent of Texas residents is equal to 270K, which is roughly the half the number of the entire US Army, or 40% more than the entire US marines. And that's one (large) state.

Lopsided demographics would have a real fight over before it started, unless they simply decided to nuke/gas/infect everyone. This shows just how important it is for TPTB to keep things from becoming a full-on civil war until they're done draining the country, because they can't manage one at all; their power only works on small brush fires and picking off a handful of militants, not dealing with even a small fraction of an entire population that's pissed off.

So, only a few seem to recognize the Zion and their banksters are not going to allow their fiat-debt assets evaporate with the dollar. That when the dollar finally goes poof, they will replace the dollar with a fiat basket currency (SDR) and then demand that debtors pay in that. Of course they own the courts, and so "legality" is not an issue for them.

Then there is TPP. I have not been following TPP much, as even though I could smell it, there are only so many hours in the day for tracking their machinations. Then I came across this research by a Joe Firestone. His focuses is on sovereignty issues in TPP, especially related to the "Investor State Dispute Settlement (ISDS) tribunals [courts]." Basically under TPP a new world court system would be set up to punish governments that stray from the their agreement to TPP. And, as always, the powers of ISDS are written in such a way as to make them effectively a court system over us all, all the citizens of the world.

Things get more interesting when one learns that the TPP requires fines/lost profits be paid in "a “freely usable currency” as specified by the IMF"

As Joe writes:

"I don’t see anything in the TPP investment chapter requiring that damages be awarded by the Investor State Dispute Settlement (ISDS) tribunals in the sovereign currency of nations incurring damage awards for lost profits, but only that they be awarded in a “freely usable currency” as specified by the IMF."

So I go here to one of the few documents that may shed a little light on the topic, and find:

"...freely usable currency means “freely usable currency” as determined by the International Monetary Fund under its Articles of Agreement."

Okay, so that's the groundwork, now comes the steamroller from the preamble of the TPP:

"Parties have agreed to the following text in the preamble:
'Recognizing the inherent right to regulate and resolving to preserve the flexibility of the Parties to protect legitimate public welfare objectives, such as public health, safety, the environment, the conservation of living or non-living exhaustible [oil folks] natural resources, and public morals.'"

Doesn't sound like a "trade-agreement," but a farm and ranch agreement between various farms and ranches for the benefit of the Big-Z ranch.

So in summary: TPP gives Zion formal sovereignty over us all, and imposes the SDR fiat-currencies on same so that we, their farm animals, will continue to owe and pay forever on debts predicated on wealth stolen from us, the people--World Government.

Great comment, and thanks.

I saw your comment on Madeleine Albright, and checked and found this:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=omnskeu-puE

Know this, when she says, "we think the price is worth it," she is saying Zion thinks that the price the Iraqis pay is worth it if Zion achieves their goals of more power and loot. Zion only values Jewish children, especially wealthy Jewish children--all others are only good as servants and fodder for Zion

Also interesting was that only a very hardened Jewish Zionist could say such a thing so unblinkingly. So I looked, and found, ta-da:
http://www.jewornotjew.com/profile.jsp?ID=37

"Apparently Ms. Albright's family was Jewish back in the '30s and converted to Roman Catholic to keep themselves safe from the Nazis."

She said that she didn't know. Give me a break. But then she is a professional liar; bureaucrat.

Unfortunately, while I disconnected the "cable" to my idiotbox long ago, I still enjoy great acting performances. As a result, I am regulatory exposed to Zion-wood's propaganda as well via films.

So, I can attest to Zion-wood being totally in the maw of power.

I particularly enjoy the sly ways they slip the "global warming" scam meme into things. And is there anything the DC US war dog military can't fix?! LOL

But then the biggest propaganda meme pushed by Zion-wood is that the elites are:

1) Just like you and me--empaths, not psychopaths.

2) Only have the goal of providing security for the people, and are not power and blood thirsty psychopaths out to line their egos with gilded power and their pockets with with loot stolen from us.

Can provide good teaching moments for the kids. My kids particularly enjoy the dichotomy between what Zion-wood offers about the nature of the gun and badge thugs, and DC US soldiers, and what YouTube shows them. Well, what I show them off of YouTube.

Liberty is a demand. Tyranny is submission.
