Vanity Goes Meta

From the Slope of Hope: Unless you reside in a cave, you know that every month, like clockwork, world-famous narcissist Oprah Winfrey puts out the latest edition of her "O" magazine featuring none other than herself on the cover. This woman is huge, both literally and figuratively, in the world of celebrities, and who I am to judge the taste or wisdom of cranking out this monthly nod to megalomania?

But this month, I glanced over at the newsstand and must, here and now, draw the line. Because not only is the cover graced, as always, with a photo of this self-obsessed morbidly obese woman..........but the photo is simply a photo of her taking a photo of herself.

And as if that weren't enough, some text on the cover encourages you to check out page 15, where you get the distinct privilege of seeing (ostensibly) the selfie of ol' blubber butt.

I can only offer Stedman as an antidote:

It may be that whoever downvoted you didn't get the essence of your post. From my interpretation, your wish only seeks resolution in the leader's traits matching those of the led - in this case, the level of obesity. Blind leading the blind, etc.
