Carl Icahn: Donald Trump Is Completely Correct That "We Are In A Bubble Like You've Never Seen Before"
Yesterday during an interview on MSNBC, presidential candidate Donald Trump said he has some big names in mind for the Treasury secretary if he wins the White House. "I'd like guys like Jack Welch. I like guys like Henry Kravis. I'd love to bring my friend Carl Icahn." He also opined on the economy and the stock market, admitting that the Fed has benefited people like him but that the economy and is in a "big fat economic and financial bubble like you've never seen before."
Moments ago Carl Icahn decided to use his Shareholders' Square Table as the venue in which to respond to his quasi-nomination for Treasury Secretary (he politely declines), and also to opine on Trump's warning that the market is "one big fat bubble" (he agrees).
I was extremely surprised to learn that Donald was running for President and even more surprised that he stated he would make me Secretary of Treasury. I am flattered but do not get up early enough in the morning to accept this opportunity.
There are others much more knowledgeable than I concerning Presidential elections. I will therefore decline to opine on his chances. But I am knowledgeable concerning markets and believe Donald is completely correct to be concerned that we have “a big fat bubble coming up. We have artificially induced low interest rates.”
I personally believe we are sailing in dangerous unchartered waters. I can only hope we get to shore safely. Never in the history of the Federal Reserve have interest rates been artificially held down for so long at the extremely low rates existing today. I applaud Donald for speaking out on this issue – more people should.
Some of us do. And what about AAPL? Is that still a double (pending some $500 billion in stock buybacks)?
And now, time to insert the obligatory reminder about music playing and people dancing.

The puppet masters would never allow a Trump presidency becauset they know he would shit all over their hands when they tried to shove them up his ass. You might as well nominate John F. Kennedy for president in 2016, same outcome. But I do like that he's pointing out the obviousness of our financial house of cards. I can hear the voices in his head: "Holy fuck I'm so glad I'm a billionare."
Interest rates being blamed for the corrupt racketeer felons who would rather start ww3 or remove 6 billion people.
Isn't he just the new Ron Paul, the new "no chance of winning" guy? The guy they'll make look stupid (perfect because they don't need to try) and discredit by inserting "neo nazis" into the crowd at his speeches? They can't use Rand Paul because he's anti MIC. Even if Trump wins they still keep/expand the MIC.
Gotta give it to em, they know how to play the game. IF you don't think Trump is on bergmansteins payroll you're a goddamn moron.
Trump will be .... and exciting, engaging, take charge President .... a good Putin .... an American, moral Putin !
New and improved Pooootie! Pootie Brylcreem! use it just once ... yer fricken hair falls out! ... IMPROVED! ... SEXY!
I like the Trump .... you have a man crush .... that's Ok !
Will he poison journalist then and lock up his political opponents?
Trump card to replace race card. Would be nice to have a president again with a few nominal accomplishmets and who knows his dick belongs in a women.
YAWN
If this whole thing collapses, don't tell me that Trump and Icahn don't have beach homes in the Caribbean somewhere.
Trump will be the same person .... after he is elected .... no bait and switch .... he is an open book !
Two for the price of one ... if you count the wig.
Oh .... that's an ad wigenem attack !
Trust your instincts and your intellect .... there are good reasons .... why you like this guy !
I can't think of them right now ...
Some time up Hillary's nasty ass will do you like that.
Only a teenager, with no experience of the economy, could not know the epic scale of this artificial Federal Reserve generated bubble. The worst thing about THIS bubble, is the Fed engineered it to be targeted at the top asset holders in America. It is known from asset ownership data that a tiny minority, of already rich people, hold and own these assets such as stocks and luxury cars and homes. Thus, QE and ZIRP have worked to blow up the stock market to unreal heights, no reflection of the real economy, and this bubble in assets has made the wealthy much, much more wealthy. These are facts, I can prove them beyond any doubt. The facts and figures do not lie, not the real ones!
This Bubble is a gift to the elites who use their wealth to own the political class of grifters we call politicians. Grifters is too kind a name for the American political class. Some are senile senior citizens with post traumatic stress syndrome like McCain. But since 99% of them avoided military service, these are few. Most are born Grifters and Con-men that we allow to lie in our faces and use the elites money to dupe us into voting for them. America's political class has sunk to new lows, and are enthrall to the corporations, rich and military industrial corporations who bribe them with campaign money in the tens of billions.
Tell us something we don't already know.
Pictures show our track records clear, look and see!

An asshat he may be, but he's dead right. HUGE MOTHERFUCKIN BUBBLE. Although I suspect there will be no downturn until Barry leaves office... we can't have the chosen one presiding over a complete meltdown, now can we...That'd be racist!
A lot of people hate Trump's ego and he definitely has one. But don't think Hillary, Obama and Jeb don't.
I am tired of these people patronizing people in speeches as I if can't understand English or are a bunch of kids requiring mommy to explain the facts of life to us.
The current crop of political egoists shouldn't be allowed in the White house except on a tour.
Trump may be OK as POTUS. We all know his shortcomings and he still can afford to dance. He may be the lessor of a whole bunch of evils. You won't know until you try it.
TPTB would never allow him to run.
Too late, isn't it?
we certainly know what to expect from either Clinton or Bush - no thanks - not even worth a thought
let's see who else shows up
for now Trump is a contender
I am not a Trump fan but I can't imagine him screwing up things any worse than they are now after nearly 16 years of Bush and then Obama, the two worst Presidents in U.S. history back to back.
There needs to be a real choice. This clown aint it. FFS the guy is a casino operator and prolly in debt to the banksters up to his eyeballs. As if there aint a single person in the country with even a tiny shread of integrity.

The first guy that says "I will audit the FED" and then says "YOUR FIRED" after the audit would get my vote.
To bad my vote won't count. I don't vote.
I would if the popular vote mattered. It doesn't', so let the electoral vote pick the winner. I could care less.
if he is willing to go all in he may hold the 'trump' card
And soon the Weasel will go pop.

oh, gee you think so..where the fuck have you been..a little late to the ptiy part carl.
I love to watch ZH's right wing go ga ga for a presidential candidate. Especially after they are always whining red/blue is no difference any other time.
We have a lot of nuts around here, but it's not as simple as saying there is no difference. There is plenty of difference on social issues, but almost no difference between either party's establishment on economic, or monetary policy. The small difference there being that the GOP has a Austrian/libertarian component, but that's definitely not the GOPe.
His running mate is his hair piece.
Trump, the one weapon of mass destruction greater than all nukes and financial derivatives combined.
I have to admit, though, I would love to see him debate Hillary. Hell, I would pay for a ticket to see that. Just don’t tell The Donald, or he will try to balance the budget by pricing the tickets at $10,000,000 apiece.
Perfect....I would have like to seen some mention of scumbag central bankers, zionist scumlords and dictatorial oligarchy government....but nonetheless, wonderfully stated.
US is fcked and economic collapse and civil war is coming. FACT.
Well Trump is also partial to the use of inflationary bubbles. He claimed that 60% of one of his development was sold, when only 13% was sold. Trump BS is good as it gets so don’t think he is going to be any more forthright that the rest of the political zoo.

Good luck!
I'll vote for Trump, one thing makes me worry. As sharp as Trump is, I think he doesn't realize it's a deadly game. I could see them killing him.

Actually, we were there merely to document the event.
Trump a presidential candidate in 2016?
Am I the only one who shudders to think what a joke America has become?
I consider DT to be very smart and of course, outspoken. If he gets the nod as President, his ability to speak out will be restricted. We all know why. I feel he would better serve the US and the world for that matter using his means to develop a platform from which to educate and enlighten the public about the history and current events regarding economic and political affairs. Much higher impact than sitting as a puppet in the white house.
HE IS RIGHT.
A total JERK
BUT DEAD RIGHT
DEAD RIGHT!
His real estate business was bailed out by big bank long time ago, he is their man.
Fuck man, I would vote for him just to see what happens if he wins lol
I mean sure, we could go the obvious route and vote for Rand Paul and he would do all the sensible things etc... stop the apocalypse etc...
But... I mean
Donald Trump, whatever the fuck happens with him president is sure to be interesting, apocalypse and all.
Well
Thats assuming Obama doesn't decree himself Führer for life and the next election isn't cancled altogether.
You know we all kid about Donald Trump because of his personal idiosyncrasies, his hair, his big ego, and his past business dealings. I also think it would be difficult for him to win the election.
However, objectively, he is the only candidate that has been verbally tough enough to call out the realities that:
- We need to restore our manufacturing base by establishing a tariff regime on foreign (especially Chinese) goods, because at present it is not a level playing field, and service-only economies never make it.
- We need to deport all illegal aliens, penalize employers that employ them, control our borders, and modify our immigration regime to protect our people and culture. He even has proposed that Mexico pay for a border fence - now that takes guts!
- We need to dramatically shrink entitlement programs and welfare, re-coupling them with employment or other productive activity
If you solve these economic problems, a lot of the other problems go away.
No other candidate has been prepared to verbalize a tough solution to these problems - because they continue to comply with the globalization doctrine of the cabal. The Donald has problems as a presidential candidate, but objectively you have to give him credit for this.
This said I believe that his true relationship with the cabal may be uncertain due to his past business dealings - and presents an unknown risk factor that would need to be evaluated.
If you look throughout history, some very strange things have happened at political inflection points in our society. There is a remote possibility that even if Donald Trump is not elected, his candidacy and participation in the debates could act as a catalyst for dramatic change in this country.
