Ku Klux Klan's Grand Dragon Says "A Lot Of The Whites In The U.S. Are Starting To Wake Up"
At the end of last year, we counted down the most popular Zero Hedge posts of 2014. The fact that the term “civil unrest” appeared in the titles of both the number-one and number-two most popular articles of the year speaks volumes and suggests that what readers found most fascinating, and troubling, was the increasing preponderance of social disobedience and of covert, proxy or outright wars: phenomena that accompany a world sliding deeper into distress.
The riots that left Baltimore in ashes in late April and the massacre that occurred last week at the historic Emanuel AME church in Charleston serve as vivid reminders of the extent to which American society now teeters perpetually on the edge of social upheaval. Increasingly, those who feel ‘the system’ has somehow failed them are turning to violence as a means of addressing their grievances, which betrays a complete lack of faith in the government’s ability to help create the conditions under which groups and individuals with divergent interests can coexist without sinking into a Hobbesian state of nature.
What does the future hold for an American society gripped by social unrest and presided over by a legislature that refuses to legislate, and a President who, over the course of eight years has metamorphosed from the champion of solidarity and change to the poster child for fractious party politics and political gridlock? We can’t say, but in the wake of the tragic events that unfolded in South Carolina last week, one group has a prediction. Here’s Reuters:
Leaders of America’s core white supremacist groups have a laundry list of perceived grievances. They say the media ignore black on white crime; that desegregation has led to poorer schools for white students; that white people in the United States have lost power to black people.
And while they don’t condone last week’s shootings of nine black worshipers at a Charleston church, many of the leaders say they understand the motivation behind the attack – and predict more violence to come.
Interviews with half-a-dozen prominent white nationalists reveal a movement that they say has been re-energized by such things as the election of America’s first black president and, more recently, what movement leaders describe as “a siege” against white police officers.
"A lot of the whites in the U.S. are starting to wake up," Robert Jones, grand dragon of the Loyal White Knights of the Ku Klux Klan in North Carolina, said in an interview. White people, he said, are getting "fed up" with the lack of attention paid to crimes against white people by blacks.
Dylann Roof, the man accused of last week’s attack at Emmanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Charleston, is not known to have joined any of the established hate groups, but a manifesto attributed to him describes how he was radicalized online, learning about “brutal black on white murders” while surfing the website of the white nationalist Council of Conservative Citizens.
Bradley Griffin, a Council board member, called the Charleston attack “horrifying,” And attempted to distance the organization from the killings. “No one in our group has ever said, 'Go pick up a gun and shoot random people.' I don't know where this guy got that idea from,” he said in an interview.
But he also said he’s sympathetic to Roof’s anger. “If anyone touches a hair on a black person, it's international news, whereas the most horrific crimes imaginable are inflicted on whites all the time, and I think the media kind of wants to downplay that,” he said. The Council’s website, which has since been taken down, described the group “as the only serious nationwide activist group that sticks up for white rights.”
Leaders of the white power movement warn that last week’s shootings could presage a rise in violence by disaffected whites who see their world changing in ways they can’t accept.
“I expect that you're going to see an uptick in those types of attacks,” said Brian Culpepper, a Tennessee chapter leader of the National Socialist Movement, the largest Neo-Nazi organization in the United States, referring to the shooting in Charleston.
“Open borders is a huge problem,” he said in an interview, causing white people to be displaced by “third worlders,” and generating “resentment among the whites and among the nationalists."
And the groups don't necessarily include all of those sympathetic to their principles. Roan Garcia-Quintana said he resigned from the Council of Conservative Citizens because “they were all interested in just complaining," he said. And he stopped attending meetings of the League of the South, a group that wants “a free and independent Southern republic” to protect its “Anglo-Celtic core population,” because they were "like a history class."
Many African-Americans in the state say that such groups exacerbate racial tensions and help fuel the kind of violence Charleston saw last week.
"It didn't surprise me," said Mary Quarles, a black woman who grew up in Abbeville, South Carolina. “We're in the South and the South is the South.”
Ultimately, it appears America has become a country wherein everyone feels marginalized and/or aggrieved in one way or another. In the absence of a dramatic societal reboot, we fear social instability is likely here to stay.

BTW, in those places were a 'criminal justice' system was only marginally in place, lynchings filled the void.

I recall working as a paid firefighter in Texas during the early 90's.
I was encouraged by my shift Captain to seek a sponsor in the local Masonic Lodge. This individual emphasized the requirement that I must ask to be accepted into the Masonic Order.

I've lived in a few very poor places in the world (not in the US), and while I've seen theft is a part of life that you have to cope with, violence doesn't necessarily follow. In fact in none of the poverty stricken places I lived in or visited was violence a widespread problem.

The media has reported that an MTA police officer—who one might suspect of having a chip on his shoulder since his small force got steamrolled in the late April Hoodrat offensive—shot a person of unknown race, age or gender in the leg. The withholding of information about the ‘suspect’ in such an encounter is usually code for unarmed, innocent, black teenager.
Speaking with witnesses who were actually watching the encounter, this non-journalist has found that the altercation was quite different then that reported by the media. The MTA cop noticed a youth packing a gun and commanded them to comply with a search, at which point the youth ran, and was grappled by the cop. During the course of the altercation the youth shot himself in the leg.
I can understand withholding the observation that the shooting of oneself in the leg with a gun which one is declining to give to his attacker, might reasonably indicate an attempt to shoot one’s attacker. As logical as this is, it is just conjecture, and I would not expect to see it in news coverage, even in a pro law-enforcement publication. However, to infer in print and broadcast media that this cop was shooting at a fleeing youth is a gross misrepresentation that is obviously calibrated to incite more unrest among the feral natives of Harm City. I read this as another indication that our liberal ruling elite and their media priesthood are dedicated to fomenting civil unrest. Since, in all of my years as a mass transit user, I have never seen a white MTA cop, I am hoping this officer is of the usual color. Police in Baltimore finally began asserting themselves over the youth thugs again this time last week. It would be a shame to have the media roll that back so soon, what with another Freddie Gray purge in our future.

Although I have promised to keep her job description confidential, she does do work associated with maintaining the BPD Motor Pool. According to her the damage to police vehicles and the numbers of police vehicles lost in the late April riots, was grossly underreported, and the vehicle maintenance and acquisition process is still a huge unresolved headache.
This is just another small example of the propaganda spin that has misinformed every level of the Baltimore Riot/Purge coverage. I expect, for the next round of riots, that media coverage will be more opaque and government-friendly in its obfuscation of the facts on the ground than it was for the first round of riots.

It is of extreme interest to me that during the week of the riots Baltimore County Police abandoned most of their duties to focus on securing the County Seat. What is even more interesting is the fact that nighttime police coverage in the Essex Precinct [which was the most violent County precinct in 2013, and became the most improved precinct in 2014] is still around 25% of what it was prior to the riots, and that daylight coverage is slightly less than the previous normal.

I am fascinated that the County Police have so changed their habits in the wake of an unrest event that was largely confined to the city. Although there was a purge of lone white males by packs of black males in the county precinct I am discussing, it occurred in part because there was zero police coverage in that precinct while the riots and purge were ongoing in the city. I understand pulling all officers out of working class precincts to staff upper class areas during a crisis. After all, policing is at root the management of the lower classes for the benefit of the upper class. But I do not understand why normal policing has not resumed in outlying areas.
The MTA shooting occurred at the center of a hipster/yuppie enclave, a viable example of urban gentrification, five feet from one of the three businesses owned by the leader of the community association. 16 hours after the shooting, I walked by the spot, checked for blood stains and found disappointingly little, and headed over to the Hamilton bakery to meet Terry and friends for her wedding cake tasting. [I never knew there was such a thing.] This upscale bakery is run by a left coast couple who seemed leery of me when I walked in in sleeveless shirt and shorts. The man told me he heard the single shot. He was also cheered by the two police cars bracketing the two block business district with lights on, behaving like mall cops.
A hipster couple and their infant then walked in off the street from the fine dining and drinking establishment next door. I knew this because he was carrying an open beer bottle and drinking from it. He was enjoying a Fat Tire IPA. That is okay with me. Hell, I don't even believe in laws, let alone some law as nannyish as an open container law. However, I reminded Terry, if that had been White Howard, Quinn, Russ, me or Mescaline stepping out of the sports bar and walking down the sidewalk drinking a National Boh, we would have been stopped by one of those cops and either arrested or given a citation.
My inner self is cheered by the fact that this node, of this evil materialistic society I have lived in contention with my entire slave's life, has fractured apart so easily and so unconsciously based on a mere week of domestic unrest by less than 1% of the population! Perhaps the door of the decrepit America House is more rotten than I had supposed. Perhaps I'll live long enough to see it kicked in, or simply fall from the weight of its own rotten gain.

You know, the term "KKK", much like the term "Nazi" has been weaponized by those who are either not students of history, or who have another agenda that the truth will not necessarily serve.
People drop the "K Bomb" just like they drop the "N Bomb" whenever they want to attack an opponent by leveraging the systematic weaponization of these terms by the media and other sources of propaganda, without really having to make a cogent argument based on facts or history.
The KKK has had different incarnations over the years with different levels of support for the "white supremacist" ideology that its opponents claim is its reason for existence. I'm not here to offer a blanket defense for all of the behaviors and views that have been "packaged" as KKK dogma by its opponents - because I don't necessarily condone all of those behaviors and views - and I doubt that the KKK does either.
What some may not know is that during reconstruction in the South after the civil war, there were places where the KKK was the only law and order available to the citizenry. Carpet baggers, opportunists and feral blacks were running rampant throughout the South, and the North turned a blind eye to this lawlessness - presumably treating it as a form of "reparations for past sins". Such is the nature of war, and of history written by the victors.
In order to understand the context of the KKK, you need to study the true history of the South. If you don't have the stomach or time to do a lot of reading on the subject, and are prepared to keep an open mind, I would suggest the film The Birth of a Nation (originally called The Clansman), a 1915 American silent epic drama film by D. W. Griffith. I believe that it is in the public domain now and freely available for download - but you should confirm this before attempting to do so.
This film is not perfect, and does not substitute for review of other written sources, but it does provide an interesting and different perspective - in the context of history - which is really the only valid perspective. Either way it’s a good movie that you might enjoy.

The program for the USofA and western Europe is proceeding as planned. The program was created and instigated first in the Belgium Congo in 1960. From there, onto Rhodesia and then South Africa.
