F-16 Fighter Collides With Civilian Cessna Over South Carolina
A day of diplomatic blow-ups in Europe just had a more literal, if perhaps more tragic echo, in the US when minutes ago in a scene straight out of Breaking Bad took place in real life when an F-16 fighter jet is said to have crashed into a civillian Cessna airplane, above Highway 52, near Cooper River in Berkely County, 30 miles north of Charleston, South Carolina.

According to witness and official reports, the F-16’s pilot ejected safely, according to WCSC's Bill Walsh, but debris from the plane is strewn on the ground near Lewisfield Plantation. As the photo below shows, what appears to be an plane engine was found in a trailer park.

According to RT, local firefighters and first responders are on the scene and looking for the wreckage of the civilian plane, with a helicopter searching the nearby Tailrace Canal. It is unknown how many people were on board the Cessna, or whether they survived.
The South Carolina Air National Guard tweeted that none of its planes are believed to be involved in the air accident.
In wake of recent reports of F-16 mishap in Berkeley Cnty, no @theSCANG F-16s were involved. #sctweets #scnews

A photo of the wreckage identifies the F-16 as part of the 55th Fighter Squadron (55 FS), part of the US Air Force’s 20th Fighter Wing at Shaw Air Force Base, South Carolina.
Amy Ramsey Dye posted these two pictures of the crash on Facebook. #chsnews pic.twitter.com/6MnaxH3RzS

Hard to fly a plane when you are wearing a klan hood and dragging a Confederate flag.
The firegirl with the skinny jeans is hot!
Doesn't look like she's wearing proper protective equipment.
I can understand yankee cops doing the all-black thing, but down south it's just too damn hot to be wearing black uniforms.
lol. priorities, right?
There is a practice area (MOA) for the Air Force whose southern boundary is 12 miles north of Moncks Corner that extends down to 1,500' (low altitude practice). Likely the Cessna 150 strayed, without talking to air traffic control (perfectly legal), into where the jet boys fly big toys, and the pilot of the F-16 never saw him, on radar or visual. Pilots are strongly advised to never, ever stray into a MOA without being in contact with air traffic control, but it is legal.
The Cessna was transporting the O'Doyle family
Check for the Russian ID near the wreckage.
I'm not sure what I'm looking at in that picture. Wasn't this kind of junk always in trailer parks?
The Cessna had the conferderate flag painted on it.
THAT F-16 WAS IN HOT PURSUIT
<WOOF>
And all the attempts to put up ads on this site is making it nearly impossible to navigate.
Try flying Firefox and go ifr(adblock)
oh dear. Looks like the PTB will have to ban all non-commercial civilian flights. Planes don't kill people. People do.
Was that Donald Trumps plane?
You think Trump flies in a Cessna? Please.

by any chance was Tsipras flying that plane ?
It was Yanas Varoufakis... It was rumered he was drinking earlier with friends.
What kind of Cessna???? .... They made many planes before the lawyers priced them out.
Edit: They say a Cessna 150! They do about 90 knots and would be hard pressed to get over 8-9000 feet.
As a private pilot myself I can tell you those military jocks are dangerous. To them the sky is their limit. I have had several near misses with military types.
I almost got hit by two A-10's while I was preparing to land.
750 feet straight down the runway while I was on my downwind leg.
They're always flying around doing practice bombing/strafing runs. Pax River NAS.
A-10s?! COOL!
Don't ya just love the way the PC media reports the news?

Appears? Really? I guess you could assume that it was part of the barbecue shown in the picture, but to me, it pretty much looks like a jet engine.
I guess they could have written it:
According to witness and official reports, the F-16’s pilot reportedly ejected safely, according to WCSC's Bill Walsh, but debris from the plane allegedly is strewn on the ground near Lewisfield Plantation. As the photo below shows, what appears to be an plane engine was found in a trailer park and first responders report that a white powdery substance was found on the ground near the scene. Residents are asked to shelter in place.
There fixed it.
"...what appears to be a trailer park..."
Breaking: Volunteer firechick responds with caution tape!!!
Actually, she was asking for assistance to remove the roll from her hand.
I thought Donnie Darko lived on the West Coast?
Patriots practicing with fly by wire
Where are the gizzards...?
I guess none? Didn't even knock over the BBQ...
Splash one, I repeat... splash one.
Where I live all that metal would be at the scrap yard before the investigators showed up.
"No occifer, I ain't seen no planes crash around here."
Putin did this...I personally saw him fly in on the back of a pheonix and fire lazer beams out of his eyes, BOMB RUSSIA, BOMB RUSSIA...
Where do I collect my journalism and nobel award?
These jets fly over my place in SC all the time @ full afterburner. Sometimes they hotdog around in pairs (or more) at less than 3000 feet, then head south. BTW, that photo is AWESOME, and so emblematic of the People's Republic of Amerika.
Cessna $200,000 mas o menos...F-16...20 million....Cessna won this dog fight
How about $5,000 tops. The POS is a piece of tin with a lawnmower engine.
at least it was not an Amazon Drone.....that would have been terrible
It will only be one time for a drone to get sucked into a aircraft engine. Once the plane goes down, history will be written in aviation industry.
ThomsonFly 757 bird strike & flames captured on ...
Did the Cesna have any confederate markings?
Or black ISIS paint, or a WWJD bumper sticker, or a Trump 2016 bumper sticker, or a Texas flag, or a 'Supreme Court Sucks' sign, or Betty Grable painted on the engine cowling, or an NRA sticker in the window,, etc, etc...
Maybe one of those chrome fishy things.
tweet from ISIS claims responsibility for bringing down the F-16
Well of course it landed in a trailer park. In South Carolina, how could it NOT land in a trailer park?
Fer sale. F16 afterberner unit in fair condishon. Call 555-1212, ask fer Bill in trailer park.
Slightly used.
Goldman Sachs has a CDO on the SC trailer. The engine didn't do its job.
/sarc
Cesna again!
But county EMS paramedics said the pilot later managed to walk to an ambulance from where he touched down at the plantation.
F16 was probably buzzing a dogging patch....
F-16 pilot couldn't outmaneuver a Cessna? WTF?
Was this military surplus that the local PD had?
The F-16 Nozzle would make a nice firepit wall. Maybe a BBQ. BTW anybody not see "The Great Santini". Single Dad Robert Duvall flies an F-4. Excellent movie.
JFK Jr.'s Cessna took a rather unexplained nosedive into the Atlantic in fair weather on July 16th, 1999 and a Pentagon hack called it pilot error on live TV before the much-delayed search even took place.
Some people believe the REQUIRED FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR FOR THAT FLIGHT was a MK Ultra type asset who cut the fuel and nosed the plane over.
JFK Jr. was flying a Piper PA-32, not a Cessna. He was flying in hazy weather at dusk and was legal. but there was a restriction to visibility in that the horizon was not clearly visible. No instructor was required for the flight. The flight was delayed because his wife was late. She was having her toenails painted and did not like the color and had them redone. If she had left well enough alone and showed up on time JFK Jr. would probably still be with us.
That doesn't account for the nosedive flight pattern that was documented.
We are talking straight nosedive from altitude just like Egypt Air 990 [NTSB-deliberate crash] a few month later in the same general area.
No it was a classic spirialing decent typical of loss of visual reference by a non-instrument rated pilot. Take it to the bank.
Been there. Haze in MVFR is more dangerous than people think, as the distant horizon slowly vanishes while the pilot is busy navigating, communicating, socializing, etc. They look outside to aviate and no longer see a definitive horizon. What do they do now? Dial 911?
Many - not most - times they crash: Controlled flight into terrain.
Rely on the artificial horizon instrument.
Yup - that's the rule. BUT, it's not that easy to follow when every cell in your body is screaming that the instrument is wrong. If it were that easy, there'd be no need for an IFR certification. There could just be a placard.
BTW, if you can just not run out of gas or fly into a mountain, 40% of GA accidents would go away.
Somewhere I read that close to half of GA crashes involved... wait for it... drinking and flying. :-o
I'm a pilot, but don't drink alcohol (never have). But I must say, as safe as I feel flying (very), I can't imagine anyone being stupid enough to drink and fly.
There is this thing called instruments. I did VFR but I've used instruments. You can not miss it, it is in front of your nose.
plenty of massachusetts local media coverage compiled in youtube videos.....JFK Jr. was truly a great human being, with so much promise ahead of him...sickening hatchet job from the tabloids afterwards, the usual character assassinations....
it has also been reported that NuttyY came over here with a crack mossad team and left after the job was done. Questionable Shrubb whereabouts as well ....
Spooky . . . the flight recorder included the voice of Mary Jo Kopechne saying 'Karma's a bitch, Johnny Boy!'
Cessna 150C http://www.controller.com/list/list.aspx?manu=CESSNA&mdltxt=150 hey Yemon you like those prices? Trump is wrong about Iraq oil but makes you wonder...
You know you are a redneck when your F-16 afterburner is on blocks and your house is on wheels.
