July 5: Greek Independence Day; July 15: Greek In Dependence Day
The Greek parliament just voted, in a 229 for and 64 against landslide, to implement the austerity Europe demands to grant Greece the funds for Bailout #3 so that Greece can then repay European creditors (as opposed to facing up to the pain imminently and suffering through a Grexit) implicitly giving up their sovereignty and sending their 61% "Oxi" voting citizenry into what will inevitably be an even deeper economic depression.
- *GREEK GOVERNMENT HAS VOTES TO APPROVE BAILOUT BILL, TALLY SHOWS
As Bloomberg reports,
A majority of 229 Greek lawmakers voted in favor of bill which includes prior actions demanded by creditors for a bailout agreement that the govt has applied for, Parliament Speaker says.
64 lawmakers voted against bill, 6 abstained, in Greece’s 300-seat chamber
Bill titled “urgent measures for the negotiation and signing of an agreement with the European Stability Mechanism”
38 lawmakers of governing Syriza party, including former finance minister Yanis Varoufakis, former deputy Finance Minister Nadia Valavani, and Energy Minister Panagiotis Lafazanis didn’t support bill
Out of 149 Syriza MPs, 32 voted against bill, 6 abstained, 1 didn’t show up
More to the point, with 38 defections, Syriza has now officially lost its majority and a cabinet reshuffle is imminent as the drama goes on.
#Greece significant 'loss' for SYRIZA NO 32 (Mainly Left Platform) + Present 6

And as noted:
#Greece Parliament votes YES but #Tsipras has lost his government majority.
— Maxime Sbaihi (@MxSba) July 15, 2015
But the biggest surprise of the night was that the former finance minister and Tsipras' right-hand man, Yanis Varoufakis, voted against the bailout.
And his Energy Minister (who also voted No)...

The people of Greece have some justice to do. Their politicians are treasonous.

Kathimerini -- Turkish jets violate Greek air space -- JULY 16, 2015

A formation of six Turkish fighter jets violated Greek national air space in the northeastern, central and southeastern Aegean on Wednesday, defense officials said.

Hmm.
In reference to what I said prior:
The wolves are now circling...let them feed, there are too many sheep, even sheep need to be culled from time to time.
Greece you spent all these years with your debt on ouzo, coffee and lulling in the sun. If you can't look after your own people, don't expect when the wolves come to your door, that everybody else is going to help you when all you can do is drink ouzo and coffee.
Its time for you people to change your ways, or let the wolves in. The choice is yours.
Stop whinning and start bending your backs...its time to work...or perish.
Its time for you people to change your ways, or let the wolves in. The choice is yours.
Pssssst. It's the same wolves that are devouring us - $18,000,000,000,000 and counting...
I knew deep down that ErDOGan was a cryptoZio
76% FOR "YES":
Once again, I told you so.
Greeks love to complain, complain, complain, point fingers, ack big, talk big, think big, but they are very small, tiny snivelling cowards in reality.
And in the end, they voted "Yes". By a big majority, 3:1 no less!
Greeks are all show, no substance.
As I said in an earlier post:
Greeks are not human, they are sheep....now let the wolves feed.
Spineless, clueless and clownish, it was always going to be.
Don't blame Europe or Germany, this is entirely a Greek tradegy of its own fault.
The most ridiculous thing in all this Greek vote is that they spent all day and most of the night for what? You mean to tell me they couldn't have had this vote earlier in the day and not get the same result!
The French voted 12 hours earlier! That's the problem with Greece, and Greeks, something that couldn't been done 12hours earlier without all this empty bluster and a pointless angry crowd could have been averted if they just had the vote earlier in the day.
GREECE YOU ARE USELESS.
Not fair.
61% of THE PEOPLE voted no.
It is the pols that voted yes.
What does this tell you?
not working?
Not enough rope?
It tells me, that the Greek people are prepared to sit on their asses and bah, bah, bah, bah while the black sheep, bleep, bleep, bleep, and the wolves gather around and salivate.
It tells me, that the Greek people like holding up their placards, but when it comes to fighting for democracy, they acquiesce in the face of adversity.
It tells me, that the Greek people don't understand democracy and what kind of work it takes to make it function.
It tells me, that 76% in parliament trumps 60% on the street (don't forget only 53% of the people voted, so .6 x .53 = 32% of the people voted against, which is about the same in in parliament, 24%!)
It tells me, that people like you MsCreant, don't understand what you are talking about, you look at things too simply and too shallowly, and that it is because of people like you cause put this world in the mess it is in, because you are too bleeding hearted and to ignorant to see the obvious, all because you don't want to face the hard work that democracy and life is really about.
It tells me, that socialism not only corrupts economies, but it turns people's minds, like the greeks and yours MsCreant, into mush!
It tells me, a whole bloody lot and more. And that is the whole real damn tragedy here, for the socialist/communists don't give a damn about anything but themselves, and the hardworking individual has to pay for people like you who like locusts raid anything you see that is green, while the poor individual that made that green patch has to just watch and suffer, while the monsters of socialism come and greedily take everything just because they don't want to work for themselves or for their country.
Note some important facts about Greece:
-They don't make any white goods; nobody in greece can make a fridge, oven, stove or an appliance for the kitchen like a toaster, greeks buy everything from Germany and then blame them for that!
-You can't buy A DAMN BAND AID in the middle of the night if you cut yourself, why? because it is all in pharmacies, and they don't allow anything not even including disinfectant to be sold outside their stores, and pharmacies don't function to ordinary store hours!
-Greeks can't make cars, but love buying German cars.
-Greeks can't make buses or trains, but buy them for their cheap public transport
-Greeks can't buy hosptial equipment they have no money for it, but they can pay for hospital gardeners (in one place 45 of them), when there are not gardens to tend
-Greeks have a lousy school system, and yet their teachers go on strike when they have the best paid teachers
-Milk is not even pasteurized properly in Greece!
-Greeks have never paid anything off! They just keep rolling over their debts, they think they can borrow money without paying it back!
Oh brother what do I have to do, educate you about life!
MsCreant....open your damn eyes!
Meanwhile Americans are hyper-vigilant and would never ever allow something like a Federal Reserve control their money supply. And they would never allow their productional systems to rot like in that non-American hellhole Detroit. And they would never allow 40 million of their citizens to become so damaged looking for years for work that they just finally just give up.
Americans would never owe some place like China $10 Trillion dollars just to get cheap stuff at Wal-mart.
We would never do things like that.
Of course, the worst-off parts of Europe tend to have ridiculous levels of over-regulation, and starting a business there is is a heroic task. Certain interests have been allowed to run rampant, but that is what really needs to be fixed.
Mmmmmm...Usury! It's what's for dinner.
Seems to me the parliament did not do the will of the people. Seems you want to monkey with the math to have permission to ignore my point. That is a problem with politicians not the people (even with a 53% turn out).
We do not know yet, what the people will do. We know they were rioting before the vote.
I don't know Greece, all you say may be true. But it misses a few points.
And how about Spain, Portugal, France, Italy? Should they have not joined also? I can go with it that NONE of them should have joined because they don't have the balance sheet for it. But why single Greece out? I know Italy, Spain, and Greece engaged in accounting tricks with the help of the likes of Goldman Sachs in order to get in. They were subprime countries, they applied for admission, Goldman showed them how to lie on the application so to speak. Other countries were doing it that way, why not them too? That is on the banks, not the countries.
Some of the Greeks (elites) abused the money it sounds like. It seems like they don't do too well collecting taxes either. But these bailouts don't make it into the regular economy. I know one of the bailouts required them to buy military equipment (planes, subs) from Germany. WTF? Nice for Germans on the backs of the Greeks.
Enjoy your hatred. Sounds like you dig it, revel in it. Hate me too. Dig it. Revel in it. You can feel powerful when you are powerless. Because I am definitely the problem because I am so stupid. You are trapped in my opinion and can't see it. It takes what it takes.
Meanwhile, as you orgy in your hate, this disaster is happening because they need a story that is anything but default so that they can save the global banking system. Like those Samurai bonds you explained to me (I enjoyed that). There is stuff like that laying all over the global banking system, outside the EU. Love or hate Greece, they are being sacrificed to save the global banking system. The hatred should be directed at the folks who were supposed to vet the PIGGS/F for admission (probably others too) and now all of them are in trouble. As are we all.
To be balanced, which Western nation is any different beyond slight differences in degree?
It tells me, that socialism not only corrupts economies, but it turns people's minds, like the greeks and yours MsCreant, into mush!
Fucking A
I like the Details that you bring to the table.
However... The Bankers and the Wealthy decide on what gets funded.
You provide good examples and you fill in the blanks on where the money is going.
But there are indictments here.
- What are the Money Flows, in the USA we have similar money flows... they go to the 1%
- What are the Investments, Where is money Invested, Who Are the Money Investors, Do the Domestic Wealthy people Invest in the Local/Domestic Economy?
- The fact that only $11 Billion Euros are invested by Greek Banks in the Greek Debt shows that the Wealthy don't give a shit about the Economy/People/Community/Local People...
- Wealthy Eschewing the People is a common theme, Wealthy people don't have to invest at all, Wealthy people can hoard their money, ...The power of Transnationals is to kill Patriotism
- The power of Transnationals is to kill Patriotism
Holy Shit.
The World is finished. Slavery is Here. I didn't know this before I wrote this. The Future is clear.
Transnationalisms has killed Patriotism.
The Corporations have Completed the Coup on Governments...
I can't talk any more.
I have a feeling that Greece's imports from Germany are going to dry up in the coming months. Guessing that as of today, Germans are dead to Greeks.
it says that the Greek government represent the Greek people
exactly as much as the US government represents the American people
Thank you!
We called in against TARP 200/1 in some cases 300/1. Congress voted it down. Then they called another vote, and voted for it. EXACTLY the same.
you are talking about Greek politicans most of them bought off already. Very sad
I ignore your disheartening and hateful comments and urge you to recant. After all ..una fazza una razza.
But yeah, most of the things are all show no substance, many words fewer actions. The whole deal could have/and should have been made months ago. With the referendums if needed which i think were not,at least not with that question.
The majority vote was achieved because pretty much everyone of the ruling party got a reality check.
Let this be a lesson to us all that the people's wishes no longer count, in Greece, Europe, NATO Countries, Africa....Anywhere.
They teach us how wonderful all of our systems are in school, indoctrinate us.
Yet in many ways it is better than the good 'old' days.
I remember having to sing 'God save the Queen' and reciting prayer and a National Anthem every morning. Blacks were still segregated and treated like scum down South, McCarthyism and the blacklisting of 'Commies' still fresh in minds, JFK and Khrushchev were on the verge of pushing that big red button, 'homos' were often beat up when discovered.
I remember walking into a bar where there was a wall separating women from men drinkers. If a woman had too many sex partners she could be thrown into a mental institution for rehabilitation. I know as I met a few. If a woman had children out of wedlock she was a 'slut' and her children 'bastards'.
American youth were conscripted and sent to Vietnam. Many died or were injured over there and they had no clue what they were fighting for, some did it because the President ordered them to.
Yeah there were good times back then but also not so good. Cops could be mean then too and lie just to convict. Politicians were just as rotten as today. We were no freer then than now, we just had a lot of propaganda about WW11 and how bad it could have been for us if it weren't for the 'Allies'. That is probably true, but not now.
There is no winning what is happening, there never is. Only thing a person can do is do the best they can. Only influence we may have is on our own life and our attitudes.
There is always that 'evil' out there, we haven't been able to get rid of it since the dawn of civilization and it will not disappear anytime soon.
Better than the good 'old' days?
Wow! So Blacks in American getting shot, while unarmed is better, cops waving guns at children's head for nothing more than these kids having a swimming pool party is better?
The US invading countries, to rape, pillage, destroy and murder millions is better, all for what, oil and to enhance the cocaine trade?
Western country Central Banks have been printing money like a burst dam and devaluing the currencies, while governments are complicit in this crime by fiddling with the inflation rate numbers?
House prices are now in many countries 10x the average salary, as compared to what they were 60 years ago, just 3x the average salary.
There is war riveting in every single country that the Americans, British, and France created with these idiotic countries during the Treaty of Versailles in 1919?
The US, Britain, and France prop up dictators and tyrants in Africa and throughout Asia, while these dictators butcher their populace, all for what, oil?
I could go on and on...
yes things are better now. You damn selfish fool, cherry picker! Have a bloody heart and open your eyes!
Well there aren't millions dying as in WW11. I lost two uncles in POW camps and a grandfather. My father had to eat rats and smuggle potatoes from Belgium. My mother was in a passenger train strafed by German fighters.
People in North America, the vast majority as in Europe, don't have to deal with those hells.
The US only lost 4 or 5 thousand soldiers invading a whole nation. Those were miniscule numbers compared to battles of the two world wars and the Civil war in the US.
With today's medicines epidemics such as the Black Plague no longer are the threat they used to be. Witness Ebola, only killing thousands and not a good percentage of the World's population. There are no death factories like Auschwitz any more.
It is a matter of perspective.
Boy, you are barking up the wrong tree.
You want to compare war wounds, try this you ignorant snot:
My grandfather was in Dachau, he was tortored by the SS and Gestapo. The communists stole our land and family lost everything, and became refugees and had to restart with nothing, the American who where in control of the territory did nothing to protect our rights, they just feed us to the communists. Relatives were shot by the Germans, and hung by the Communists. You condescending ignorant idiot! You should be very careful starting things you know nothing about.
1,000,000 Germans starved to death, after World War 1, because of the USA, British and French blockade of Germany, that was a war crime, but you don't hear about that. But bet you don't know that did you, you ignorant American. Who needs Auschwitz when already 1,000,000 Iraqis have died since the US invaded Iran! Check out the number of people that now die by our modern poisons, and vaccines, I can go on. You are really one ignorant person.
There is no perspective here...just truths, truths that Americans and the British lie about. Victors lie, losers pay the price.
Cherry Picker, you are aptly name, you cherry pick your information. I suggest you go and relearn everything and spend the next 10 years doing so. And don't read American or British textbooks, they are all filed with lies. Try learning another language, like German or Russian, and then you will see things in perspective!
My god you americans are ignorant!
I'm not American and know many Russian and a few ex Wehrmacht soldiers from that era.
I suggest you tone it down as you have no clue.
Don't twist things. You are the one with no clue. I'll tone it down, when people like you learn some facts. Lies and distortion out of ignorance are the same thing, they are all lies.
Your knowledge is dangerous, for it is faulty. And knowing Russian or ex Wehrmacht soldiers means nothing. Try living with the outcomes of these nightmares, my family have suffered greatly, all because of people like you, who think you know better than you do.
The world is in the mess we are in, all because of people like you. Who say they know things, but in reality are full of shit!
You should go to Greece, you'd fit in very well there. The Greeks talk just like you.
Enough of your insolence!
Holy Shit.
Damn I'm thinking about learning German or Russian now.
Damn... There is a Crisis, but it may be 70 years old.
And who knows what Crisis we don't know about since TPTB don't want us learning other languages.
Isn't this the same parliament that declared the debt odious and illegal less than a month ago?
Apparently the Greek CONgress is even more useless than the American CONgress, and that is no small feat!
Not enough rope.
I can only speak for myself, but if I were faced with such an outcome:
1) I would solicit like minds for a targeted extermination of the key criminals;
2) regardless of the success of the effort in No. 1, I would begin...
Either everyone in Greece is extraordinarily stupid, or we are about to witness what some will label as Karmic retribution. Such a blatent trespass against the spirit of justice surely cannot endure; if it can, life is surely not worth living.
The Greek people set this up by responding with a large majority (70%) in an earlier poll to retain the euro. This is of course directly opposed to the more recent "No" vote (61%) on measures necessary to do so. Clearly most of the country are oblivious when it comes to fiscal reality. They deserve what they are getting, and I would not call them sheep. I would characterize them as large children with a cultural propensity to engage in destructive magical thinking.
The polls are fake, its been obvious for a while now. Euro or Drachma is a 50/50 toss up is my guess. The biggest thing Greeks are afraid re:drachma is incompetent traitors like Tsipras who incomprehensibly didn't feel it necessary to have a Plan B!
I see a reluctance by Greek people including their leaders to face the truth and reality. The choices left open are mutually exclusive. How could they vote to remain in the EZ as the polls say whilst at the same time deny that the country is utterly bankrupt?
The only explanation is that they have always expected the rest of the EU to fund their unproductive lavish lifestyles and that has no doubt been promised to them by Brussels. That has come to an end, for now.
Why don't they just issue their own currency backed by olives?
Well that would mean money worth of something. How can you expect that form socialists. It's cheaper for them to have the paper or cotton wool money we all are forced to use.
Cook County politicians want more:
Thanks for the precedent in favour of the Troika, the value of slavery has nose-dived world-wide /sarc./
I sympathize with Greek for the current situation.
But at the same time I gloat , why ?
Greeks led by Alexander the Great (homosexual) had invaded many countries around 320 BC and butchered many humans. I said homosexual becuz they indulge too much and becuz of it their brains become too materialistic, they become possessed (by evil forces & demons). All they then think about is maximizing for their greed by looting, murder, crime & by all unfair means by doing evil.
They attacked the holy lands of east such as India which produced God like saints.
Their bad karma is now giving them results.
(And watch out for the great Homosexual Obama, he may bring the whole world to ruin, being possessed with the satanic forces)
Bow down before the one you serve

Sorry why should I feel sorry for the Greeks?. They lied all the way into the EU, during the EU, and as you can see the follow-through. They got what they deserved and I hope the most stupid Germans other inhabitants of highly indebted nations will get what the desrve also. And I pray that it wil his especiall the "politicians" very very hard.
I can not see why you defent the debt makers.. What's you interest in helping defrauders? Sorry, everything here in the last time about Greece ist just poor really poor.
How about looking at a decent entry here on ZeroHedge?
http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2015-07-15/black-swan-taleb-warns-%E2%80%9...
Everyhing else written here about greece, does not have much connection to reality. And for those which can read:
Article 1251. The Union shall not be liable for or assume the commitments of central governments, regional, local or other public authorities, other bodies governed by public law, or public undertakings of any Member State, without prejudice to mutual financial guarantees for the joint execution of a specific project. A Member State shall not be liable for or assume the commitments of central governments, regional, local or other public authorities, other bodies governed by public law, or public undertakings of another Member State, without prejudice to mutual financial guarantees for the joint execution of a specific project.
2. The Council, on a proposal from the Commission and after consulting the European Parliament, may, as required, specify definitions for the application of the prohibitions referred to in Articles 123 and 124 and in this Article.
So any payment for any too much indebted country is only backed up by socialists regime all over Europre. Because to many of you have not the slightest clue about this I just can write. You comment on things you do not know the slightest about. That's dogmatism. You believe what you want and you state your believes as fact.
Now tell ma acout your believes about other "great" countries, Why not start to tell us you believiing abou the working of the US? How comes that you see the flaws there but not with you comments on EU, Germany and Greece?
Have u anything to say except blaming socializm for everything?
Thanks for the confirmation that you can't read. I'd try to change that.
For those who can read. ANY payment from the EU to any indebted country to bear the costs are ILLEGAL, but hey it's so easy, just blame the Germans. That has worked in the past works currently and will work till alll this fucking countries are merly a shade of a rememberance. So thatl'll take some time, and it nees to see all of us dead.
I think we get your point: Germany and creditor good, Greece and debtor bad. So why do the krauts keep sending them money? Just fucking stop it. Germany is a nation of pimps and pushers.
Much chaos and shambles in the world has been caused by the various heads of the socialist snake. It's not an ideology, it's a brain disease.
.......Socialism sunk the Titianic, and killed off the dinosaurs
O.K. see you in 2 years.
The same situation, am not sure the outcome will be the same.
They will not sustain it by slowly killing retired, ill, low working class kids....
And what did you write here?
http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2015-07-15/subsidizing-scroungers-germans-...
And what are you doing? Exactly that spreading hate. Don't you think that should be a reason to change that?
Is it hate or is it truth and a reality? Where is the fallacy in this?
Because the stuff is about EU and not Germany. Germany pays roughyl 20 billoins, france another 15 billion and so on. So it's hate, hate on Germans or Germany. Do you really think Germany alone will pay the 90 billions? What's wrong with you? Why is it not possible to see what's going on? gosh we stupid Germans will decide on Friday to send the billions down there. Do you really think I would just even chip a ¢ down there. There are but 600 Germans from which > 300 will decide, that the Germans "want" that payment. If you do not get straight you have no one else to blame but yourself.
Keep your fucking money and stay out of Greece's business. The loans you gave them? They're gone.
I hope no one will be surprised when they wake up one day
to find that the Golden Dawn has taken over in Greece
and the Pravy Sektor has taken over in Ukraine, and that
Nazi recruiting in Europe has become as effective in Europe
as ISIS is in the middle east
it may even be no surprise when Germany
takes over the lead of the Fourtn Reich
Those seem to be the equilibrium states.
4th Reich is already here and more succesful than ever with no need for tanks, all it was needed was a common currency.
And Sorry to dissapoint you but Golden Dawn is no better than your average street gang, same with Pravy Sektor, same with ISIS.They are good with violence and show of force, bad with actual ruling.
You cant rule effectively with only violence and big words, it aint the Middle Ages no more.
PATHETIC.
2 GENERATIONS AND COUNTING OF SLAVERY TO THE DESPOTS OF EUROPE.
Parliamentary Pigs will always vote to keep the trough slurping full, and Oxis on the street can go oink themselves.
Representative democracy is the opium of the masses.
The last one.
Greek Parliament: Tell the Spartans Greeks thou that passest by, that here, obedient to their laws, we lie - and steal, cheat, are frauds and traitors. Ephialtes for Prime Minister! All Hail Ephialtes!
Having a referendum and then voting counter to it is a prescription for civil disturbances, something like 50% unemployment among young, absolute dynomite.
Modern Greece has been a tenuous entity with lots of foreign interference and this will amp up any resentment against interference by western europe and may invite involvement by Russia.
"Dogs are dancing for money" (El Chapo).
Same yesterday: Money for freedom - money always will win - and borrowed money is a welcome buisness for the rich.
When Greek people think Germans are lucky with the burning of the next 90 o 100 billions of Euro on the Greek money-grave they should know that nobody here is lucky with the latest document of failure. To the contrary. The big majority opposes to it and would like to get back their freedom as well - because often Greek protesters forget that this document doesn't only mean dependence for Greeks but also for Germans in terms of financial obligations. In Germany the publick discussion about new taxes ("solidarity surchage for Greece") has already begun....also the planned freeway-toll (Autobahnmaut) has to be seen in view of the above.
Freedom against Drachma is the only solution for this desaster.
Some people link Greece's problems to Argentina's in the 90's. In fact Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner congratulated Greece when they recently defaulted. The problems are different inasmuch as Greece doesn't use distraction politics and turn to mythical sovereignty cliams like Argentina does. Ohhh that mythical Malvinas cliam, what would Argentina do without it?

The political unification of Europe was planned many years ago.. these are just the final death throws of the independent states.
There is no political unification of Europe, just control by Germany.
And now Schauble says Greece may not get the "bailout" after all, after they have jumped through the hoops he required them to do.
My birthday. Wahey!!!!
The captain, Tsiparis, may go down with the Greek ship, but the educated passengers will abandon ship. The brain drain will be swift.
DO they go to BRICS?
In the EU, there is no future for anybody.
IN the EU there is only a decdline everywhere. Som places faster, some places slower pace.
Around 300k univercity graduates have fled from Greece, (i ve stayed behind cause i have no capital to flee). The "brain drain" has already happened.
It matters not. No one seems to be willing to be the big bad wolf who chooses the red pill, not even the man who for 5 months fought against the bankers...even he caved in in the end while having majority of the Greek population on gis side. Democracy is gone, finished...as Mark Hanna in the wolf of wall street said; "it's all a fughazi...it has never landed, it's not on the elemental chart...it's not f***ing real".
The sad truth is that these issues will just increase in pace and happen more and more frequently. Once they start happening several times a year that's when the system will implode by itself. We seem to be closing in but we are not there yet.
Dear Greeks: time to let the world know that you want out of the Euro. Otherwise you are complicit in accepting chains in exchange for free shit.
BTW, the fun is only just starting. Black market is about to become the ony way to do business and there will be a permanent bankrun. The ECBs CTRL+P keys are going to be very tired.
I think this is what Karl Marx meant by the "withering away" of the state. Everything will be privately owned by approved corporations that do not answer to the state.
Britain would be better off out of the EU.
