Americans Are Fleeing These US Cities In Droves

Tyler Durden's picture

What do El Paso, New York, and Chicago have in common? They are among the top 20 cities from which Americans are fleeing in droves...

The map below shows the 20 metropolitan areas that lost the greatest share of local people to other parts of the country between July 2013 and July 2014, according to a Bloomberg News analysis of U.S. Census Bureau data. The New York City area ranked 2nd, losing about a net 163,000 U.S. residents, closely followed by a couple surrounding suburbs in Connecticut. Honolulu ranked fourth and Los Angeles ranked 14th. The Bloomberg calculations looked at the 100 most populous U.S. metropolitan areas.

So what's going on here? As Bloomberg notes, Michael Stoll, a professor of public policy and urban planning at the University of California Los Angeles, has an idea.

Soaring home prices are pushing local residents out and scaring away potential new ones from other parts of the country, he said. (Everyone knows how unaffordable the Manhattan area has become.)

And as Americans leave, people from abroad move in to these bustling cities to fill the vacant low-skilled jobs. They are able to do so by living in what Stoll calls "creative housing arrangements" in which they pack six to eight individuals, or two to four families, into one apartment or home. It's an arrangement that most Americans just aren't willing to pursue, and even many immigrants decide it's not for them as time goes by, he said.

El Paso, Texas, the city that residents fled from at the fastest pace, also saw a surprisingly small number of foreigners settling in given how close it is to Mexico.

"A lot of young, reasonably educated people are having a hard time finding work there," Stoll said. "They're not staying in town after they graduate," leaving for the faster-growing economies."

I saw the writing on the wall 30 years ago and escaped USA in 1989 and now retired debt free with home paid off in the forest by the Rhine valley in central NL.

Forest and trails. 3 miles from yacht club on Lower Rhine.  half a mile from dairy farm with fresh milk and eggs,

Peace and quiet and the sound of birds everymorning. in my lovely garden.

I'm getting goosebumps thinking about DutchBoy's comment.  Waking up every day truly free.

Wake up in the morning and have a cup of coffee on the deck enjoying the peacefulness of dawn, check on the garden, make a healthy breakfast with home-grown food, check ZH to see if the world is on fire yet, take a walk around the property with the dogs, check ZH, shag the wife, take a nap, check ZH, make some lunch, smoke an afternoon bowl, check ZH, go for a hike or a bike ride, read a good book or strum my guitar, play with the kids, make dinner, smoke an evening bowl, check ZH, enjoy the peacefulness of dusk, pour a glass of wine or pop a cold beer, look at the stars realizing you don't have a fucking care in the world, check ZH, drift off to sleep.

Repeat.

DutchBoy will probably live to be 110.

I gave up a stabilized 1BR in Battery Park City which I could was easily afford. Landlord immediately raised the rent at least $1k/month-couldn't wait to get rid of me. The writing was on the wall with Deblasio, the creepy transients down the hall, all my friends moving out too. The country life is now where I call home and I don't miss that slum one bit. It really was nice for many years down by the esplanade, lived through the attack, watched the rebuild and now it's a pit-never going back, ever.

Just keep in mind the influx of immigrants in Hawaii and the West Coast is not strictly from the surge of Latin grape-pickers, but the trillions in yuan sloshing around global property hotspots; Vancouver, NY, Sydney, London, Paris, Hong Kong, LA, and yes, Hawaii.

Coming soon to a community near you. 2000 years of crony Confucianism. Enjoy.

Makes my decision not to get involved in a real estate deal in NYC seem like a good choice. A building in long island city selling overpriced condos for $900per square ft. Seems unlikely that prics can continue upward for too mich longer.

Friend who does real estate transactions there for a lot of high end clients (worked for World Economic Forum and lived in Geneva and Basel for a while) says the only slowdown has been the Russian money and buyers.  Otherwise still funneling in from all over in the Middle East and Asia.

They relocate to a nice area, trash it the same as they trashed the area they came from.

They bring with them the same negative ideology and try to impose that same negative ideology where ever they go.

They end up in places that they know nothing about, and find out they really don't like the people of the area they relocated to.

Most claim to be 'job' related relocations, but behind closed doors, it about the Mexicans.

Well, even then, Mexicans are many folks neighbors no matter where you go or end up living.

Some even have traditional parties with loud music, and what a shock it is for those folks that thought they were relocating to an area free of Mexicans.

To me the loud music means they are at peace and having fun!

Take that!

Mexicans are not the problem. Illegal workers, or street gangs, different subjects.

IME Mexicans are hard working, traditionalists, family oriented, friendly...not the problem.

Legalize drugs = kill the cartels = Mexico becomes less dangerous = people are less desperate to leave.

Require real ID for employment = fine the hell out of the employers; hell charge them the cost of sending their employee home with a years pay on top of the fine = employing illegals becomes less desireable.

Then hopefully we get the best legal immigrants from any country.

Lived in and around Chicago. Nice city.

However, the slithers, pols and crats, practically install a reverse IV in you; Sucking you dry at every turn. Rapacious thieves.

That would be bad enough, but they are so rapacious about it that you will get tickets or fined even if you are careful. They now have niggers, yes, ghetto niggers, not black people, at $12 an hour, wandering around writing tickets.

Chicago is so bad that one needs a permit ($$$) to photograph with a tripod in the downtown park.

An old friend of mine said that he got wind that Chicago is going to someday soon force the cell phone companies to provide "normal use" info on cell numbers. I.e. where does the phone number make and receive the bulk of its calls. If in Chicago, and there is no Chicago address associated with the number, Chicago will impose their "communications tax" on the poor subscriber. Seems people move to Chicago and keep their Ohio number, or use an address elsewhere for a number that is taxed less, and then deny the Chicago thieves their pound of flesh

He heard of it because he works in a law office that is handling trying to find a loophole to use against the cell phone companies in prying loose this "normal use" info.

He says that phase-two will be to impose a use tax. I.e. you could return home to Denver or something, and then find an extra line-item on your next cell bill because you used your phone while in Chicago.

Rapacious thieves.

Liberty is a demand. Tyranny is submission..

I warned some friends of mine recently, but they went to Chicago--"The museums, the lake, the parks."-- instead of Orlando. They came back and said that while the city was pretty, and the museums nice, things were expensive, and the nickle and diming, etc. was maddening. They estimated that they spent 50% more in Chicago than they would have in Orlando going to Disneyworld. They said a gun and badge thug accosted them for waiting for a trolley at a designated stop, instead of just telling them that the trollies stopped running. The thug even used the word "loitering" in his dressing down of this family of four. LOL

Well I might add that "white flight" has been a phenomenon ever since the Civil Rights Act and Fair Housing was passed by LBJ and the Demonrats.

The GOOD NEWS? There are no longer any places Whites can flee to:

Attention America’s Suburbs: You Have Just Been Annexed

It’s difficult to say what’s more striking about President Obama’s Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing (AFFH) regulation: its breathtaking radicalism, the refusal of the press to cover it, or its potential political ramifications. The danger AFFH poses to Democrats explains why the press barely mentions it. This lack of curiosity, in turn, explains why the revolutionary nature of the rule has not been properly understood. Ultimately, the regulation amounts to back-door annexation, a way of turning America’s suburbs into tributaries of nearby cities.

Obama collecting personal data for a secret race database July 18, 2015

Just a sample of what happens in the USSA each and every day. I recall reading in a local newspaper in Alabama in 2000 a case that still evokes emotion in me. A 7 year old blue-eyed blonde little girl was playing outside her white-picket fence house when a van full of MEXICANS stopped and two of them dragged her into the van and took off. She has never been seen again. Or look up KEVIN SHIFFLET he was a little White boy playing in his Grandma's front yard in Virginia when a black man stabbed him to death shouting racial epithets. It was a SMALL item in the Washington Post, nothing national.

See: http://newnation.org/ for what the MSM HIDES from you.

In antiquity, the conquering hordes, killed the children of the conquered “before their faces”, as a lesson to the latter. It was a “this is why” statement on the part of the former. Today’s Whites don’t believe in “Why”, so they never learn the reasons behind these violent acts perpetrated on their own flesh and blood.
Mother of Son Murdered by Illegal Alien Slams Sanctuary Cities, Politicians: ‘Your Silence Speaks Volumes’

At a Tuesday Senate hearing dedicated to the families who lost loved ones thanks to illegal aliens, Laura Wilkerson gave testimony on her youngest son Joshua’s horrific death while some in the silent audience wept.

“My son’s name was Joshua Wilkerson,” she began. “On November 16, 2010, he was beaten, strangled, tortured until he died. He was tied up, thrown in a field, and set on fire. His killer, Hermilo Moralez, was brought here illegally by his illegal parents when he was ten years old, so he fit the ‘DREAM’ kid description. He was sentenced to life in prison, which means it will be 30 years before he’s up for parole. He’ll be a 49-year-old man, who I don’t expect to be deported. And I just hope he doesn’t come to live in your city.”

[Hermilo Moralez] parents somehow managed to provide lessons so he acquired a black belt in mixed martial arts. Joshua had never been in a fight in his life.”

Joshua was a “very quiet, old soul,” his mother said. “He didn’t speak a lot, but when he did, you listened to him. Like I said, he’d never been in a fight in his life.”

The silence in the hearing deepened as Wilkerson continued: “Instead of getting Joshua home that day from school, we got an autopsy report.”

Wilkerson read aloud portions of the gut-wrenching autopsy: “‘This body is received in a grey body bag. There’s a tag on his toe that bears the name, Joshua Wilkerson. This is a white male weighing a hundred pounds. He is tied up with braided rope — 13 loops around his neck in a slipknot. It goes behind his back through his back belt loop. It goes to his hands and his feet, behind his body. He has multiple fractures in his face and nasal cavity. His throat and his voicebox are crushed.'”

Wilkerson took a deep breath and continued, looking at the senators before her with a steady gaze. “He was kicked so hard in the stomach that it sent his spleen into his spine, and sliced it in two… The medical examiner said it was torture.”

She returned to the text of the autopsy: “‘This body has significant skin loss on his buttocks, his abdomen, his penis, his hands, and his face. He has one stick of gum and a tardy slip in his pocket.”

“This was our family’s 9/11 terrorist attack by a foreign invader, whether you want to recognize it or whether you do not,” Wilkerson said. “This government continues to fail or even recognize that we have an issue. Americans are dying daily at the hands of criminals that we don’t even know are here.”

Watch Wilkerson’s testimony on Senator Jeff Sessions (R-AL) Youtube Channel:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pYqz7JCjDm4

"I want you to be angry that America's borders are wide open. America does not know who is in this country. It is time to put Americans first," Ms. Wilkerson said. "Close the borders, figure out who is really here. Keep statistics. Realize that we are at war right here in this country."

People of European ancestry generally get along with Asians and to a lesser extent Latinos. However those three ethnicities for the most part can get along and in many cases can build strong familial, communal, business, and other interpersonal relationships.

Blacks? For the most part... no one really wants to live near them. They smell weird, feel entitled, are arrogant and have an utter lack of impulse control. According to every study I have ever read, from any country, blacks have a lower IQ and are prone to violence.

Of course people are leaving inner cities and cities in general. Who wants to live near that? NO ONE.

Blacks wanted something for themselves....they got Detroit MI, Camden NJ, Compton CA, Trenton NJ, Gary IN etc. Those were ALL prosperous areas at one point that have one thing in common today.

At one time Detroit sold high-value product all over the world.  Detroit was a net importer of capital at that time.

Detroit built infrastructure and promised pensions based on this prosperity.   When the end of prosperity came, politicians financed.

Now capital is being exported from Detroit (interest and pensions payments).   The infrastructure in many cases is 100 years old.

It’s unsustainable.

All of #America is in the same press.  These baby boomers are going to want multiple hip, knee replacements, new hearts, etc.

To your point.

Detroit’s white flight gained lift-off in the 1940’s as a result of the ‘Great Migration’.  Once the whites lost the race war, the suburbs were platted. The downtown mansions turned into room for rent flophouses.

I read a story about these tours being offered (Mostly European tourists) of Detroit's demise, and then the publicity hit, and the tourism offering disappeared.  I've looked at so many photographs of Detroit architecture, such beauty that now is literally collapsing to nothing.  Ideology is still more powerful than believing your own eyes at the destruction of the American spirit.

It's not all glamour.

Ok, so I've made it clear how much I think that the peeps of colour are my clearest present danger to live anywhere near.  But I'm not so deluded that I think my newfound white country neighbors won't slit our throats just about as quickly in a SHTF scenario.  But the population density alone ups our chances of surviving longer.  In the meantime, I'm rather amused to be driving or visiting one of these small towns and think, wow, there's a black person.

I feel bad for the kids and let's be real.  I work at a golf course and I used be a superintendent.  I have been doing this shit for over twenty years now.  I have been the boss before blah, blah, blah.  I know how it all goes so I came up with this idea.

$100 Student Tournament

Sponsored by Manipuflation and ZeroHedge.com

Rules: All USGA rules apply if you agree that they do otherwise who gives a shit? Only current staff students may win payout.

When: Whenever you can all do it. It is fight club and you will figure out your own rules as you go.

Why: Why not?

Prize: $100 USD tender. Winner takes all. No second place prize.

Well, the college kids love it.  Now I have them talking and they are thinking that it is cool idea.  Well, they are all college kids and they are racking up debt.  I have been after them about not racking up debt since they days they started back in late May.  I want those kids to know that what they do right now matters a great.  I was lucky...no, I was not lucky, I was smart about how I did everything and now have no debt and just do not give a fuck.  I have played golf in many years so I don't care.

Come on man who the fuck has some shit to say to me about who owe?  I OWE YOU NOTHING SO FUCK OFF.  That is not so easy to do but I did it and the kids can too.  I worked my fucking ass off to do it no doubt.  I am 41 years old with a nice Russian wife and two healthy children.  I fought for all of that and I am greatful for them.

The student age kids love my idea and I will pay out.  Guess who does not like my little idea?  The adults do not like what I am doing because I am making them look bad but guess what?  I could care less what they think of me.  I have over twenty years of ag experience and have the degree and the licenses so go fuck off.  NO ONE will tell me jack shit because this is what I have done my life.  Even the old guys know better than to question me.  However, none of the fuckers have any money for the kids to win in my little tournement.

No one really knows what to make of me and I love being underestimated.  It does not take me very long to figure it out.  Money talks and bullshit walks.  I was called out on my $100 claim so I laid $1474 in cash on the table from my wallet and they were speechless.  Any more fucking brilliant questions or will you all just sit there and drool?  Shut the fuck up.  What do you have?  A fucking credit card?  Well, good for you then.

The college kids are important to me and they caught what I did.  They are the ones who are getting fucked.  Shit we have all been fucked but I can't in good conscience let the kids go down into debt.  I ended with them later alone and I asked how old they were in 1999.  2,3 and 4 years old.  Do the math for 2008.  I have to do what I have to do and I hope you all will too.

It is an interesting group of kids coming up and these are not millenials.  They are younger but they seem to be good kids.  They want to learn.  Hey, well, I am a whitetrash motherfucker who just does not give a shit what anyone says and I live my life my way.  Never have I ever been afraid to tell someone to fuck off.

I want these kids to learn this script.

Socialist pig:  Son, you are not allowed to do that so I have to issue you a fine.

Our Kids:  Go fuck yourself you fascist fuck!

One of the disadvantages of being an American is that you are limited in making racist, crazy pronouncements - like a bounty on someone’s head or the incredible language excesses that La Raza (The Race) uses against the American people.

The white man’s burden in his own country is that the enemy he faces is racist, and his government and his media support the latter.

La Raza gets not only America’s foundation monies, it gets American taxpayer dollars and funnels them into MEChA (Movimiento Estudiantil Chicano de Aztlan), which is supported financially by (tax-funded) schools and sometimes from the associated students. . La Raza's motto:

"Por La Raza todo. Fuera de La Raza nada."
"Everything for the race. Everything outside the race, nothing."

Writes Joseph Fallon of The Social Contract Press: "So with the encouragement of the U.S. government and with the financial support of major U.S. corporations and foundations, LULAC, MALDEF, MEChA/MEXA, and La Raza, pillars of the radical 'Hispanic' lobby, successfully and aggressively promote hatred of the history, identity, culture, language, and laws of the United States....

"MALDEF obtains the funding to support its activities primarily from corporations in particular AT&T and IBM, and philanthropic foundations. For the period 1991-1995, the total amount of 'gifts, grants and contributions' to MALDEF was over $17 million. Between 1996 and 1998, MALDEF received over nine million dollars from just three foundations the vast majority, over six million dollars from the Ford Foundation, $1,200,000 from Carnegie Corporation, and another $1,525,000 from the Rockefeller Foundation.

"For the two-year period, 1995-1996, MALDEF paid a total of $720,992 in 'compensation of officers, directors, etc..' But paid $4,021,363 in 'other salaries and wages.'"

I'm talking downtown, midtown, corktown, new center, cass corridors, Woodbridge and the waterfront. These areas are safe, thriving and policed by private security.

Greater Detroit is about 140,000 sq miles. It's huge and too much of a task to revitalize it all back it's former glory. Leaders are now focused on rebuilding from the inside out and they're doing a great job at it do far.

This can be both a good thing and a bad thing.

On one hand, you can look at it as people getting wise to the problems of living in a big city during an economic crisis, then on the other hand, many of those people bring their retarded big city ideas with them to small towns and end up infesting the new town with those same ideas they ran from in the first place.

The "Massholes" fleeing Massachusetts was a good example of this when they migrated to NH. Turned the whole southern half of that state into a shit hole a few decades back.

I dunno.....maybe I'm overreacting with that 2nd part, but there's definitely some truth to it.

This doesn't contain any of the rural areas and I know firsthand in PA just how badly those areas are dying from running numbers.  There simply isn't an economy to support younger people and a ton of rural counties in PA are actually going to experience negative population in the 2020 census.  They are entering actuarial death spirals because they increasingly have populations where the elderly are more than a 1/3 of the population demographic and property taxes aren't sufficient to support the current level of gov't services given the lack of businesses.

If whites ever must live in cities, they'll learn not to snitch. Cops ask you why there's a black person (or a white snitch) lying in a pool of blood, you say "a black guy shot him." If pressed for details, describe an average black man, they all look the same.

And if you shot him, don't be a naive fool like George Zimmerman. Just get rid of the gun and lie low for a few days.

everyone of those creative housing arrangements is ILLEGAL for whites. I know several property managers who say the housing dept only inspects white and some black occupied properties. they "look the other way" as they drive by known "immigrant" slums. can't dicriminate and pick on the illegals doncha  know.  cause if you did, then we would not be able to have brown people acting like slaves in strawberry fields, factories, kitchens etc etc.

that's why white leave over priced areas and illegals can be creative.

that and all thses areas are heavliy socialist sanctury cities.

Based upon the cities, it looks like LA and Chicago lost more people than all the rest put together

Americans may be leaving the cities, but in this vast country there soon may be no place left to hide, because when the nation is ruled by individuals such as Sotomayor, there can be no foundations remaining of white European culture without the tyrannical rule of the Third World. Not the Third World, you say? How many people know that Justice Sotomayor was a member of the radical Hispanic racial organization, La Raza?

The question is, why wasn’t the following a big news story when Sotomayor was being considered for the U.S. Supreme Court?  Could it be that America has no free press? And did the senators who voted for her not have this information?

Sonia Sotomayor 'La Raza member': American Bar Association lists Obama choice as part of group | WorldNetDaily Exclusive

05/27/2009
As President Obama’s Supreme Court nominee comes under heavy fire for allegedly being a “racist,” Judge Sonia Sotomayor is listed as a member of the National Council of La Raza, a group that’s promoted driver’s licenses for illegal aliens, amnesty programs, and no immigration law enforcement by local and state police.

According to the American Bar Association, Sotomayor is a member of the NCLR, which bills itself as the largest national Hispanic civil rights and advocacy organization in the U.S.

Meaning “the Race,” La Raza also has connections to groups that advocate the separation of several southwestern states from the rest of America…

As WND previously reported, La Raza was condemned in 2006 by former U.S. Rep. Charles Norwood, R-Ga., as a radical “pro-illegal immigration lobbying organization that supports racist groups calling for the secession of the western United States as a Hispanic-only homeland.”

Norwood urged La Raza to renounce its support of the Movimiento Estudiantil Chicano de Aztlan – which sees “the Race” as part of an ethnic group that one day will reclaim Aztlan, the mythical birthplace of the Aztecs. In Chicano folklore, Aztlan includes California, Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico and parts of Colorado and Texas.

Just think if the illegal immigrants ever figure out what the COnstitution stands for and tries to apply it to them selves. Then the social engineering experiment meets massive failure,

The entire State of Illinois has a high exodus rate for good reason. I believe it is #1 in that category. High taxes, wasteful spending, tremendous debt. Too many socialist pricks in control.

Downstate Illinois has gone, in about one generation, “from being one of three crucial pillars in the triumvirate of Illinois’ political power structure (with Chicago and its suburbs) to political irrelevance.” Most of the current statewide elected officials, and top legislative leaders, all now hail from or around Chicago.

IOW, there is little hope for conservative self-government in downstate Illinois.

And, as National Review points out: “Voting ‘the Chicago Way’ involves bending every rule in the book, appointing compliant election judges, and looking the other way when some of Chicago s notorious voter fraud occurs behind the curtain…

“Political reformers in Chicago have seen all this before, and they are not surprised that Barack Obama goes along with it. ‘We have a sick political culture, and that’s the environment Barack Obama came from,’ Jay Stewart, the executive director of the Chicago Better Government Association, warned ABC News when Obama ran in 2008.”

If any political health remains in the society, 2/3rds of Illinois should be granted its Constitutional right to form another state with any from adjacent states who have more common interests.  Several other states populations are bereft of representation such a New York, and California and now Colorado.  NYC is the master of millions who have no connection to NYC values, economic conditions in the upstate.  It is not representational.

Powerfully made point, falcon. Representative government is dead and this is the end game. Add gerrymandering to that and we have a total breakdown in representation of We the People.

And the primary reason is that beginning in 1913 the international bankers eventually took over management and control of the nation’s economic system and thus its political system.

For the price of taxes on a small property in a lot of those cities listed, one could rent a very nice high-rise condo in downtown Bangkok, Thailand.

Then when one feels stress, they can walk downstairs and go a few blocks to the BJ bar to let off steam for under $25 bucks a pop.

That's living.

Nothing new.  In Miami, illegals have been ten to a luxury condo for 4 decades.  They also like to pool their funds to procure luxury rides.
