If You Live In These States You'll Soon Need A Passport For Domestic Flights

Tyler Durden's picture

Submitted by John Vibes via TheAntiMedia.org,

To comply with the 2005 Real ID Act, which the U.S. government has been slowly implementing for the past decade, citizens in a number of different U.S. states will now be forced to obtain a passport if they want to board an airplane - even for domestic flights.

The Department of Homeland Security and representatives with the U.S. Customs and Border Protection have declined to comment on why certain states have been singled out, but starting in 2016, residents of New York, Wisconsin, Louisiana, Minnesota, New Hampshire, and American Samoa will need a passport to fly domestically. All other states will still be able to use their state-issued driver’s licenses and IDs — for now, at least.

According to the Department of Homeland Security’s guidelines on enforcement of the Real ID Act,

“The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced on December 20, 2013 a phased enforcement plan for the REAL ID Act (the Act), as passed by Congress, that will implement the Act in a measured, fair, and responsible way.

Secure driver’s licenses and identification documents are a vital component of our national security framework. The REAL ID Act, passed by Congress in 2005, enacted the 9/11 Commission’s recommendation that the Federal Government ‘set standards for the issuance of sources of identification, such as driver’s licenses.’ The Act established minimum security standards for license issuance and production and prohibits Federal agencies from accepting for certain purposes driver’s licenses and identification cards from states not meeting the Act’s minimum standards.  The purposes covered by the Act are: accessing Federal facilities, entering nuclear power plants, and, no sooner than 2016, boarding federally regulated commercial aircraft.

States and other jurisdictions have made significant progress in enhancing the security of their licenses over the last number of years. As a result, approximately 70-80% of all U.S. drivers hold licenses from jurisdictions: (1) determined to meet the Act’s standards; or (2) that have received extensions. Individuals holding driver’s licenses or identification cards from these jurisdiction may continue to use them as before.

Individuals holding licenses from noncompliant jurisdictions will need to follow alternative access control procedures for purposes covered by the Act.  As described below, enforcement for boarding aircraft will occur no sooner than 2016.”

According to the fine print, not all 50 states have driver’s licences that meet the Real ID requirements, which could possibly explain why the aforementioned regions will not qualify in 2016. However, there is no specific mention of what the requirements actually are.

The Real ID act has been controversial since its initial proposal over ten years ago and is seen by many as a massive violation of privacy. One of the primary reasons it has taken the government so long to roll this program out is that the program is wildly unpopular and creates heavy backlash every time it appears in the news.

The tightening of the Real ID restrictions are seemingly intended to push people towards attaining the newly issued “enhanced ID,” which adds more unnecessary paperwork and bureaucracy to the already tedious process involved in identification applications.

The European Commission has just announced an agreement whereby English will be the official language of the European Union rather than German, which was the other possibility.

As part of the negotiations, the British Government conceded that English spelling had some room for improvement and has accepted a 5- year phase-in plan that would become known as "Euro-English".

In the first year, "s" will replace the soft "c". Sertainly, this will make the sivil servants jump with joy. The hard "c" will be dropped in favour of "k". This should klear up konfusion, and keyboards kan have one less letter.

There will be growing publik enthusiasm in the sekond year when the troublesome "ph" will be replaced with "f". This will make words like fotograf 20% shorter.

In the 3rd year, publik akseptanse of the new spelling kan be expekted to reach the stage where more komplikated changes are possible.

Governments will enkourage the removal of double letters which have always ben a deterent to akurate speling.

Also, al wil agre that the horibl mes of the silent "e" in the languag is disgrasful and it should go away.

By the 4th yer peopl wil be reseptiv to steps such as replasing "th" with "z" and "w" with "v".

What is the Law that is supreme in the USA?

There are many Specialties in Law, Disciplines, Areas, or Domains.

-

1)Deductive reasoning, is the process of reasoning from one or more statements (premises) to reach a logically certain conclusion
2) Inductive reasoning is reasoning in which the premises seek to supply strong evidence for the truth of the conclusion
3) Abductive reasoning is a form of logical inference which goes from an observation to a theory which accounts for the observation, ideally seeking to find the simplest and most likely explanation.

But what are the Laws the are pertinent?

1) Admiralty Law
2) Common Law
3) Property Law
4) Confiscation Law
5) Federal Law to Take Duties, Fees, Taxes, Increase Federal Employment or Federal Salaries
6) Federal Transfer Law to give away the Powers of the US Congress, War, Budget, Legislation, ability to print money, ability to regulate banks, power to legislate laws over banks, power to sign Treaties, Power to give away the power of legislation to enact Treaties or Agreements(like Fast Track Agreement to authorize the World Trade Agreement)
7) Constitutional Law, that which can not be dissolved, weakened, curtailed, defeated, over-turned by the US Congress

Hmm... Anyone see a problem here??

Its title is a ten-letter backronym (USA PATRIOT) that stands for "Uniting and Strengthening America by Providing Appropriate Tools Required to Intercept and Obstruct Terrorism Act of 2001".

How many people are still worried that an Article V Convention of the State legislatures to amend the Constitution in order to strip the Federal Government of its powers (or totally eliminate it) and return the basic powers of governance to the states is a bigger risk than letting the Feds continue to run slipshod over all Americans rights?  Even a runaway convention would likely give better results than allowing the Federal government to continue to exist as it does at present.

Listen, man.

The Founding Fathers didn't attain their freedom by having committee meetings.  At the end of the day, they had to take up arms against the British.  Jefferson could have written a thousand declarations of independence but it wouldn't have meant a thing without muskets.

This idea that freedoms can be reclaimed from the current reptile overlords using lawyers and amendments and voting is ludicrous.  At some point, either force, or the threat of force, is going to be needed.  You can hold all the conventions that you want but they won't mean a thing unless you back them up.

Noteworthy:

No taxation without representation

"No taxation without representation" was a slogan in the period 1763-1775 that summarized a primary grievance of the American colonists in the Thirteen colonies. The colonists complained that taxes were imposed by Parliament without the consent of the colonists, which violated the traditional rights of Englishmen dating back centuries. The point was that the colonies had no representation in Parliament; the British responded that they were "virtually" represented. The Americans said these "virtual representatives" knew nothing about America.

The Americans strenuously rejected the Stamp Act of 1765 (which was repealed), and in 1773 violently rejected the tax on tea imports at the Boston Tea Party. Britain retaliated against Boston in a chain of episodes that led to armed rebellion in 1775 and the American Revolution.

The colonists formed militias and seized control of each colony, ousting the royal governors. The complaint was never officially over the amount of taxation (which was low), but always on the decision-making process by which taxes were decided in London, without representation for the colonists in British Parliament.

Some radical Patriots tarred and feathered tax collectors and customs officers, making those positions dangerous, especially in New England[1]

"In an appearance before Parliament in January, 1766, Prime Minister William Pitt stated:[7]

"The idea of a virtual representation of America in this House is the most contemptible that ever entered into the head of a man. It does not deserve a serious refutation. The Commons of America, represented in their several assemblies, have ever been in possession of the exercise of this their constitutional right, of giving and granting their own money. They would have been slaves if they had not enjoyed it."

Take a long, hard look at school bond elections.

Citizens who own property, including including businesses that are their main source of income, but live outside the bounds of the school district cannot vote. Citizens who own acreage inside and outside the school district but the residence address lies on the part outside the district cannot vote.

On the other hand, Texas homeowners with an over-65 homestead exemption are heavily lobbied to vote for the bonds because their taxes will not be raised. College students who live on campus, i.e. transients, are lobbied to vote for the school bonds.

Do you see a problem?

"forced" is the key word in the article. It is something that doesn't work and shouldn't work so it is being forced. The Global economic system by Goldman Sachs failed in 2008 and now it is being forced on those that are enemies to the bankers financial warfare to achieve global domination.

The events of September 11th gave him a more profound understanding of the troubles he experienced in that job. He is the author of "VISAs for Al Qaeda: CIA Handouts That Rocked The World - An Insider's View". He describes the American VISAs For Terrorists Program and the Arab-Afghan Legion.

The Feds want to regulate Texans' use of puddles (navigable waters?) but won't stop the invasion. BTW, that is frequently an armed invasion. There are reports of .50 cal fire coming from the south. Some of the ranchers have had to pull back from using their land.

The Full Assault has been quite impressive.  Dedication to this cause to send hundreds of millions into utter and hopeless despair is also admirable.  Maintaining the secrecy in a gossip-fueled judgmental conversation society leans toward is also an accomplish, and I applaud that.  What you have on each other must be equivalent to 1st degree homicide.  Media made selling out fashionable.  Bombarding the hearts and souls with horror and disappointment in hopes of breaking spirits has been a decades long endeavor.  However, a mob the size of New Jersy stops for no one.  When you are outnumbered, the castle you flee to will become your prison.  Being "hungry" is a requirement for motivation and once we truly know hunger, we realize why people go to great effort to ensure they never know it again.

Uh, does anyone see the "REAL" problem here?

We all know it's fucked up, illegal, criminal, wrong - quite clearly in fact.

But how do you organize millions of American "citizens" to actually do something about it? Everyone just wants their internet, social media, entertainment, booty, etc. I can't see any real action, can you? Talking? Discussing? How does that stop tyranny?

Ex-patting is one solution - but one is left with little to no "better" locations on planet earth. Plus it costs an arm and a leg along with the removal from your so-called comfort zone.

Seriously - seems like everyone knows shit is hitting the fan one day soon - but all we can do is talk about it?

What is the plan?

There is no plan - and if you do actually research what the best plan truly is - it's kind of violent and has much risk. No one proactively engages in "scary stuff" like that unless their back is against the wall. Which it will be. One day soon enough.

If not here? Where? If not now? When? If not you? Who?
In Illinois you need a state police issued Firearm Owner ID card with you picture. This is needed to legally, according to the state of course, own a firearm. This is needed to buy ammunition . This is needed to handle a gun in a gun store when considering a purchase.
See, it doesn't happen overnight. I was transferred to Illinois with a company job shift. When I crossed the state line with my weapons I became a criminal.
When Mexicans cross our border they become criminals accordingly.
Border checks at state line check points? Don't think it can happen here?

We should anticipate to see all Western countries outlining the necessity for real-time bio tracking of all members of the public, when out it public. This is underpinned with the law implying there exists no technical right to privacy when we venture out into any public space etc.

All those flagged up as an unknown not tagged in real-time, will be subject to immediate arrest.  It will be coming to tackle the increase of terror attacks these next decade or so.

Maybe they will start with a wrist band, necklace or something we slip on when we exit our private home residence, where we do have greater rights for privacy of home/family life.

I can't see it not being rolled out, as the sponsoring thoughts of any terrorists are only set to increase at a quicker rate from here on, I feel.  And the future generations ? Well the world they will be born into it will all be normal to grow up with.

1000 years out will be having ' Replicants ' to deal with.  ;) :)

Well, Wisconsin could set up as one of the first states to junk commercial flight altogether.  It will have to  happen anyway, as the Long Descent develops.  Why not collapse now and avoid the rush?  No commercial passenger flights means less congestion, less pollution, and no 1%'ers making Wisconsin their state of domicile.  That should help to get rid of outside political money and make Wisconsin more of a locally owned-and-operated enterprise.

And probably there'll be border checks, since you'all don't have REAL id.  The United States of Security will have to assure that everyone coming OUT of Wisconsin is, like, a real U.S. citizen, so you'll need passports to leave the state.  So you might as well require proper Wisconsin id to get back in.  You'll have independence before you know it.

Bureaucratic inertia/momentum.

It was a bad law when passed, and nobody really wanted it except some security geeks who basically were drooling over getting a REAL police state properly set up.  Everybody dragged their heels because the requirements were draconian, the costs enormous, and the public quickly revolted.  But once written into law, the apparatchiks had to start writing up plans, setting targets, and creating policy to implement it, and once all THAT was started, nothing could stop it.

EXCEPT, repeal of the statute.  EXCEPT, getting the FRICKING, STUPID LAW off the books.  This one needs to go down and out.  Call your Congresscritter and cuss.

More and more we need to get permission from our government to use our Constitutional "Rights." Journalists need a license, gun owners need a permit, religious institutions need to register, to build a home on your own land you need a permit, to use the public roads you need a license, to gather and protest you need a permit, hell, even to take a shit you need a sewage disposal certificate, and now we will need permission to travel between the states... the point is, if you need permission from government, it is not a right but a privilege.

We are a free republic in name only, just like Rome was a republic in name only after Caesar crossed the Rubicon. We are way past the Rubicon and praying for a Marcus Aurelius, after our experiment with Nero. Sadly the people support Caligula.

There appears to be a pattern in empires. They begin with vigor, grow strongly, then as exceptionalists, reach out to control others.  But inside the emperor`s tent the sociopaths, psycopaths, control freaks and eunuchs begin to seize control and maintain through draconian regulations while handing out freebies to supporters.

Then comes the collapse. The Persian, Egyptian, Roman, French, Spanish and other empires spring to mind. Hegel got it right.
